ㅤ──────────────────────| ── | It was kind of amusing this time. Because all of the spells that had gone off had been the Knockback Jinx. It was a very popular spell for sure. Kim had to admit, he kind of felt very partial to that particular one. It just had so many good uses. Perhaps that was why he kept trying to shoot this one off, even though he had limited success, due to his inexperience when it came to official duels. He'd done the spell a few times now and at first he'd kept missing but eventually he'd managed to hit, which had been a great feeling for sure. But now it seemed as if he was getting the hang of it and it had hit a second time. With more time, he might be able to get his casts off on a regular basis, instead of it working only sometimes. Still, Kim was a little concerned about Sophia's state, and as the duel was paused for Sophia to be carted off to the healer's tent, he hoped she would be alright. Well, when it was over, if he was still standing, he'd head off to check on her and make sure she was fine. But for now, it was time to focus on the duel again as it had once again resumed. There was only one opponent left, the steadfast Pericles. Someone Kim realized was actually doing really well for being the last one of his team left standing in the duel. What should he do next? That was the question of the hour. Not to mention, what would Pericles's next move be? ────────────────────── ㅤ ㅤ──────────────────────

Summer Duelling Funtime Extravaganza, Match: 5
They’d all read each other’s minds - no one wanted to be left out. The flipendo span grew to new levels, levels unseen by Galton in his duels so far. Undeniably it had grown to be a staple of the format; even with the higher years who had flashier spells at their disposal it did what it needed to do so well it was still heavily employed.
Galton wouldn’t add any flair or flourish to his cast, it would have been wasted on the fog covered girl. It was more important that she didn’t see what was coming - or if she did, it was too hard to avoid. The duel was coming to an end and they needed her gone if they were to stand a chance of taking the victory.
And when the spells had been cast, and the dodging done, both lions stood tall still. There was a chance then.

It was gut-wrenching, that sound. That a fourteen-year-old had acutely memorized the sound of a body hitting the floor was a grim matter all its own, but such was Pericles' lot in life as a duellist. He cringed at the thud, moving instantly after, stepping carefully through the fog so as not to stumble over her. "Sophi?" His voice was hushed with dread. Bridget called the duel to a halt in the same moment he found her. Feeling about blindly, his bony fingers managed to locate her wand, which he worked into the pocket of her robes before she was carted off. He resumed the proper pose of readiness just after, wand raised. His strained expression couldn't be seen, but his silence said enough.

Sophia was proud of her performance in the duel, all things considered. She'd survived quite far considering the hits she'd taken in the very beginning, and, ignoring her aching head, she felt surprisingly chipper, if not a bit woozy even so. If she could only do some real good with her own casting, she'd be ecstatic. Unfortunately, the fog wasn't helping by any means.
It almost felt like she was in a horror movie. Her vision was blinded in every direction, and her only chance of accomplishing anything rested in her hearing ability. Was this how Matt Murdock felt every day? Sophia felt even more pity for the blind lawyer, before realizing that she was thinking about comic books as she was supposed to be attempting to duel.
She managed to get another Flipendo off - which didn't stand much chance of hitting in this dense fog - before she was forcibly jerked back to the moment.
If the fog was the setting of a horror movie, she should have known to expect a jump scare.
This jump scare wasn't the blood curdling shriek of a demon or the eerie scream of a little girl. No, this jump scare was in the form of two bright blue bolts of light heading right for her. Unable to react in time, all Sophia could manage was a set of wide eyes and a resigned, "Oh."
The impact of the spells themselves wasn't too terribly painful, but as she was knocked from her feet, she could tell this was it. This was her final blow.
As she collapsed in a painful heap on the ground and her vision began to blur, she could almost hear someone saying her name, but her head wasn't capable of focusing on that at the moment. Instead, she allowed her eyes to finally close, eager for just a bit of sleep.
Ah, yes. Sleep. That would make everything better.
Zzzzzz...

Pericles was undeterred. Yes, his teammate was down, and that was never easy to watch if you had any of the camaraderie with them necessary to win a duel. Yes, he was facing a one vs two situation without any visual of his opponents. But he still had his wand, his wits, and a vague idea of where the Gryffindors were, so he was going for it.
A spell spread in these conditions was risky; they were hard to manage as it was, and the fog made him more likely to completely miss, tiring himself out from the mental strain in the process. Arguably, though, Pericles had to play a bit risky at this point, go all out in a race against the dwindling clock. It would prove worth it.
Galton was simply unstoppable this round, so yes, Pericles' risk was rather unsuccessful when it came to the elder duellist. He weaved out of the spell's way with masterful ease, all the while sending off a second phenomenal Blindfolding Spell--the Obscuro King was perhaps a suitable moniker, if he ever tired of Galton the Glorious or the Candy King?--that would give Pericles considerable trouble going forward. Eloise hadn't managed to get that thing off before being knocked out; would he fair any better?
Before meeting that complication, however, Pericles avoided a Flipendo from Kim. His last spell of the duel, as it would be, because Pericles' own jinx landed hard. "Stop!" Bridget hadn't expected to call for another stop so soon, had in fact been wondering if all three duellists would see the end, but apparently not. It did make sense; Kim had taken more than his fair share of hits. Perhaps he and Sophia would wake up around the same time and laugh off their first fight on the duelling stage.
And then it was two. Galton and Pericles, the oldest, most experienced duellists. From the start they'd proven talented, a threat, and yet few had been brave enough to go for them, leaving both relatively untouched. It could be a magnificent showdown, but that depended on if Pericles could remove his blindfold before the clock ran out, and everyone knew duellists were notoriously weak.

Galton did not quite expect the blindfold to come out with such vigor. This was certainly not one of the chances he had paid much mind to. But it was a welcome event.
Much less welcome was the loss of his partner. Kim was almost quick enough to get out of the way of the painful ball of magic headed towards him. Almost. The spell that would sends you to sleep was always the least painful Galton found, and hoped that Kim would think similarly. He would ask him later in the medical tent. But now he needed to finish this duel. It is why they were here!

────────────────────── ㅤ
ㅤ──────────────────────| ── | It was definitely obvious. Galton was the most unstoppable duelist in this particular duel and Kim had to admit he was impressed. He hadn't really talked to Galton before but after this, the white haired boy intended on going after him to get a few tips on how to improve his actions. Unfortunately, Kim's luck ran out when his Flipendo was avoided and Pericles's own Flipendo came streaking towards him in return. "젠장... / jenjang..." Well, shit... The Korean words came out automatically as he realized what was going on, only seconds too late to do much. Kim tried to twist his body to avoid the streaking bolt of blue light that came towards him like a lightning strike. But he knew it was much too late. Pericles jinx hit him in the chest and sent him flying backward. As a result, Kim ended up hitting the back of his head against the wall and got knocked out soon after. However, the boy managed to wake up only a few minutes after he'd been carried over to the medical tent to get his injuries looked at. "I'm fine." Kim told them, waving them off and only accepted some burn paste for his burns from earlier. As for his head, it didn't hurt, so he didn't think there was any need to get it looked at. What he was more concerned about right now was Sophia's condition. Where was she? ────────────────────── ㅤ ㅤ──────────────────────

Summer Duelling Funtime Extravaganza, Match: 5
The loss of his duelling partner fueled his rebuke: a shot in the dark, but a shot that found it's mark all the same. Peri felt a surge of triumph in the wake of Bridget's call to pause. The duel was dwindling down to an end, and regardless of which way the win went, he could be content with his team's performance. Sophia had persisted like a thorn in their opponent's side, and his command over splitting spells was proof his practice had paid off. Ravenclaw had fought tooth and nail... though it wasn't over yet. The moment they resumed the fog began to clear, a brief glimpse at his freckled features made stony with determination. Just as he laid eyes on his target, the blindfold slapped hard into place. It took him aback, eliciting a short gasp as his sight was stolen, but his mouth just as soon twisted into a hell-bent grimace.

Bridget was an impartial moderator, and really, she didn't think hoping Pericles managed to get that blindfold off detracted from that. She had immense respect for both Galton and Pericles, and wanted nothing more than to see them spar in these last moments, their skills pitted directly against each other.
Alas, Galton's blindfolds were just too good, knotted in the tight sort of way that required getting your fingernails under the strips, or perhaps giving up and finding a more patient family member to pass it off to. While Pericles still struggled, Galton landed a solid Ventus, perfectly aimed despite the fact he could have easily let up focus a bit; he was truly a veteran, to be able to keep his head in the game all through the match. "Time is almost up," Bridget informed them. It looked like it was going to tick out quite anticlimatically.
