Thank you for getting back to me so quickly, it's actually a bit of a relief to know that i'm not the only one who isn't used to this sort of thing with it being your first quill pal too it truly is a pleasure to meet you Charlie even if it is through writing right now. As far as I'm aware we don't have any classes together but I have only been to three of them so far with school only just beginning but hopefully we will have a class together sometime soon.

I'll be honest school is a little overwhelming so far for me as i'm not exactly used to the school or it's classes as this is completely new to me, i'm muggle born you see but i'm just trying my best which is all that I can do really I guess but the library is amazing and i've got a little study nook in my dorm room too which helps me to focus.

I'd love to meet you face-to-face some time, would be far less awkward then writing and rewriting everything over and over again to make sure the letter doesn't seem weird or that it makes sense.

Wait, You're telling me there is a way to actually write things down without having to physically do so with your hands? How did I not know about this? That would be an extremely useful tool for homework and making notes in class I'll have to look into getting one.

It's certainly different, being away from home is really hard I miss my Mum and my Sister Loralei a heck of a lot not to mention the animals. I feel way out of my depths here it's the first time I've been away from home before I never really had friends back home to even do that sleepover thing, slumber parties I think they're called or something. But what is the strangest thing is the classes, I expected them to be things like Maths, English and Science but they don't seem to be a thing here.

I have to admit though I am excited to go home for Christmas and tell my sister about everything that's happened so far not forgetting all the traditions we have I've actually been making little gifts for my siblings to put in their Christmas eve box for the exchange that we do every Christmas eve. I am curious though and I hope you don't mind me asking but what is Christmas like for wizards and witches, what do you guys do?

So far I've only done a few of the classes but I liked defence against the dark arts the most so far and Charms the least but I am the most excited for History of Magic and something called Herbology. I'm not really keen on Astronomy myself but we learned a little bit about the solar system back in muggle school so it kind of made me feel less overwhelmed even if I don't really understand it all that much.

As for hobbies, I hope we also have some in common. I have no idea what Gob-Stones is but I like chess not played a game in a while now but I love to read, sing and anything to do with animals and nature really back home we have a 30-acre farm so I'd spend most of my spare time exploring so I can't wait to explore the school and the grounds more when the weather gets nicer. I even have a plan to grab myself a hot chocolate from the kitchens tomorrow if the weather is nice and have a walk through the grounds to see what it's like out there.

It's unreal, I never thought in a million years that something like this would exist let alone that I may be able to eventually get one it is going to make my life so much easier. I am curious if only those of magical heritage can use them though as my sister would probably use one as much as I would myself as she loves to write stories and journals more than I do which is a lot, could make a pretty cool Christmas or Birthday present for her to use at home.

We don't really do parties at Christmas time we mainly save that for when it is about to be a new year but we do have some traditions like every day in December my family and I will get together in the early evening and watch a Christmas film together and then on Christmas Eve my parents, siblings and I all exchange small Christmas eve boxes. My parents usually get us a set of Christmas pyjamas to wear for the night as well as we have a mini food buffet and drink hot chocolate, we also light candles to remember those of our family who are not able to be here with us in person to and then we go to bed.

But on Christmas day usually, we wake up and feed the animals before Christmas breakfast and open our gifts and then we will go to one of our Uncle's or Aunts houses for Christmas Dinner if my parents aren't hosting it as they alternate years. I am glad though that it's not all that uncommon to like classes like Herbology, DADA and the likes back home I had a tendency of liking classes that not many others liked so they thought I was strange.

I love how you draw to communicate with your sister and that she finds some way to communicate easily through her art, I wish I could draw but I've never really been an artistic soul in that manner but I do love seeing art so i'd love to see your work sometime. As for favourite animals on the farm, I know I shouldn't but I have three favourites our two Llama Kusco and Pascha and we have a dwarf goat who just likes to cause trouble called Lottie so I can't help but love her she makes me giggle. But in general, I love lemurs and how cheeky they can be and they're super cute looking too but if I could own any animal in the world I would get a Savannah , I mean who doesn't love a cat that acts like a dog? I'd love to take you to the farm sometime we have over 20 animals right now from when I left and they're all real characters.

Gob-Stones sounds like a game we used to do in the summer called Hungry Hippos although losers would be squirted in the face with cold water by the hippo. I suppose he may have ran away because he was embarrassed or upset but I can see why it would have been funny to watch.

I'd love for you to join me, I'm planning on heading out in the morning after breakfast if that helps at all? We could maybe get some food and make a picnic or something.
