Amanda Parker was a very pretty girl when she went to school. In fact, with her long, wavy blonde hair, clear blue eyes, and charming personality, she was one of the most beautiful girls in her class. Robert Miller was no different, and he also had blonde hair, although his eyes were a pleasant shade of green.
A few years after the two were married, they had a child, Amelia Miller. At first, Amelia was just an average looking girl, but when she reached five years old, her prettiness became more clear and noticeable. Often, adults would smile at her parents, and comment about her daughter’s lovely appearance. Amelia didn’t really care, or even understand, at first, but as she grew older and wiser, it became gradually more embarrassing to the young girl, and she wasn’t sure whether she was that proud of her looks.
Some of the boys in her first school asked her if she would like to play with them, which made Amelia ask her mother a question as soon as she got home; "Mom, am I a Part-Veela?"
"No, of course not. We're definitely humans." Her mother chuckled, before frowning. "Why, did something happen?"
So Amelia told her all about the playing, and everything else that had happened, even the smallest things like people picking up her pencil when she dropped it.
"Amelia, you're just a lovely girl. In personality and appearance. You're a lovely creature."
Amelia wasn't the type of the person to use her looks, or really anything, to her advantage, but after what her mother had said, she would at least have some fun with her ability. Occasionally, she would get people to pick her things up when she dropped them, or help her in lessons. However, she didn't become lazy because of her talent, and mostly used it for fun. She would also never do something that could get another person in trouble, like helping her cheat on a test (which she would never do anyway).
Despite the advantages, people often underestimate Amelia. Since she is pretty, people often focus on her physical appearance, and ignore her kind, caring, intelligent, and fierce personality. Amelia has always hated this, but she has recently learnt that this can occasionally be a good distraction.
However, Amelia is not just beautiful on the outside. She is a smart, caring, loving, and loyal girl, and once you become her friend, you are extremely lucky. She really is a lovely creature.
