Kim's deathly allergic to them.
Cats are drawn to him and love him and Kim just wants them to stay away from him!
Precious got a cat on the train and took it into the compartment.
Kim came in and sat down and ended up passing out because of his cat allergies.
He sneezes nonstop and can't stop for an hour usually, unless he either gets away from them or takes an allergy potion. But he doesn't like depending upon potions for anything, so prefers not to.
Kim also has cat trauma from his mother... you can see all about it in his ency.
