Animal Lovers Club Meeting 1
Best not to be late, Athena reasoned, so why not be early? She was exactly running over…but it could be described as a quick paced trot. See, she didn’t mind being first there, but what she did mind was being last. Rushing into the room she realized she was second there, only to Lily.
“Hey, Lily!” she said gleefully. She couldn’t wait for the meeting to begin. She may not have a pet of her own, but at home she had liked the family owl, Lewy. Lewy was a brown owl who was always missing a few feathers on his left wing. Her parents had bought Lewy after she was born, so she had grown up with the owl. She liked to call Lewy a retired owl, because he was old and rarely used. Another reason she was here was to make friends. This was, technically, her first club meeting, though she had joined various other clubs. She’d have to mention this to Cara if it went smoothly, because if anyone liked animals, it was Cara. She wondered if Cara would be here, but doubted it. She only now realized she might have joined a club of first years—no, she wouldn’t think that way. Lily had been kind enough to allow her into the club, and she wouldn’t act like an entitled brat.

Animal Lovers Club Meeting 1
Kayla had just, the minute before, been sitting in her common room, before remembering the owl she had gotten from Lily, a friend and founder of the Animal Lovers Club, who could she forget the meeting today? Checking her watch, she stood up, it was ten-minutes-to-three- just enough time to get there. So, in a hurry to not be late, she had put on her badger sweater over her school shirt and wearing her black school skirt, she sped out of her common room, determined to arrive on time. "Come on Squeaky- no time to sleep! We'll be late!" She said to her ferret, scooping her up. Squeaky was fairy capable of running alongside Kayla on the ground, but she tended to get side tracked so Kayla preferred to pick her up on some occasions.
She arrived at the door of the classroom she thought was right, about five minutes later, she was about to knock, but she had gotten permission to go inside so she decided the better of it and turned the handle, opening the door. Kayla scanned the room before walking in, she let her eyes wonder across the selection of snacks. Snacks...Oh shoot! She had forgotten to bring a snack or drink! She would turn back but she had already stepped into the room. And she had also spotted another member, someone Kayla had already seen around the castle, but never really met.
Too late, evidently. So Kayla did the brave thing- she stepped another step forward, her tall figure swaying slightly as she moved.
"Oh, uh, hey Lils! I'm here for the meeting, I'm not late, right?" Kayla asked uncertainly, nervously touching the bag that layed limp at her side. "And hello- I'm Kayla." She smiled at the other girl sitting down.

Animal Lovers Club Meeting 1

Colin pounded along the corridors and down the stairs from the owlery towards the second floor. He was so excited that he let his owl fly along above him as he pounded along. "Uhuuuuuu uhuuuuuu!" he cried as the corridors got more crowded in the minutes after class finally let out for the day. "Wotcha! Outta the way there little ones! Oops! Comin through lassies!"
His satchel and kilts were bouncing merrily and his blond hair flew behind as he dodged upperclassmen and --- it was still so strange to say! --- lowerclassmen as well! His bare feet made hardly any noise, compared to the clomps and stomps of the other kids' shoes. He wondered who all would be at the Animal Lovers Club. Lily was the lead, and she'd sent an owl inviting folks to join. He rather hoped that Clair would join too --- he'd heard she likes animals, and it would be fun to be in a club with her!
At last Colin and Uhuu got all the way down to the second floor and Colin trotted along towards the classroom where Lily had said to go. Colin shoved the door open and cried out: "Hey Lily Blaze!!" But the room was dark! Colin looked around and saw two sixth or seventh years wrapped around each other, snogging noisily in the far corner! Colin's eyes widened. The girl was cool about it though --- he could swear she never took her lips off her mate, but had her wand out and pointed it at Colin without missing a beat! Colin decided to beat a hasty retreat! "WHOA! Sorry, wrong room! Carry on you two!" Just as he slammed the door, he could see a bright green flash from under the bottom of the door. "Oh crap! I'd better check Lily's owl again --- oof! Heheh. Yeah, wrong room!"
He turned the parchment right side up and and nodded to himself. He looked up at the great Indian eagle owl perched on his left shoulder. "Alright Uhuu lad! We're off again!"
After running along the corridor Colin at last got to the correct room! He opened the door a little more carefully this time and peeked in. The place was well lit and he could smell the sickly scent of sugary sweets and other treats. He entered with a smile and greeted the club lead: "Heyo Lily Blaze! Thanks for inviting us to your club!" Looking around, he two Badgers, one he recognised. "Hi Athena! Hi, unknown Hufflepuff!"
With that, Colin opened and rummaged around in his new bottomless satchel. He got out a box that had cheese for the club members and pet treats for anyone that brought their beasties with them! That he set out on the table and gave a nice mouse nugget to Uhuu!

ㅤ──────────────────────| ── | It was near the beginning of the year. Well, regarding school terms that is. Kim was still feeling rather distracted for the most part due to Rabbit. Spin the Bottle hadn't helped him much in that regard and he wondered what had possessed Haley to take him there. Not only that but Sophia and Avery had also 'attacked' him, grabbing onto each arm and effectively making it impossible for him to leave the area. So he'd been forced to take part in the game. It had been... rather interesting... to say the least. Kim shook his head as he tried to focus on the present time. With a new school year also came new students. He and Elsian had engaged in quite an elaborate prank together, which had received very amusing results. Not to mention the squabble at the Ravenclaw table during the great feast, which had been unexpected but had given the new students a taste of what life was like there. And also served as an amusing anecdote for the older students. Kim had also reunited with Bailey, who had decided to immediately entice him to join a new club with her and he'd gone along with her whims. After all, it was a club that had to do with animals. He loved all animals, as long as they weren't cats. Kim had made sure to check with the leader of the club beforehand about this particular topic. It didn't seem as if it would be a problem. So Kim was definitely looking forward to seeing what kind of meeting this club would hold as its first one. Of course, just in case he'd brought an allergy potion with him. But he was someone who preferred not to make use of potions if he could go without them. Kim only took them if he had no other choice. Hopefully, he wouldn't have to make the decision to down one. The leader had reassured him he wouldn't need to though, which made him happy about having a potentially good first meeting. Puffie had insisted on coming along with him, making pouting faces when Kim was considering not bringing him. So when Kim arrived, the pink puff was riding on top of his shoulder. He didn't expect to see cats but even if he did, Kim was sure the leader would make sure they wouldn't zoom over to him. As long as there was a suitable distance between him and felines, his allergies wouldn't kick in. He'd made some food before, earlier that morning, having asked for permission from the house elves. Half of them were ham and cheese croissants and the other half were chocolate ones. Savory and sweet, what a delicious combination. The boy had put the snack-bites into two containers and had brought them inside his enchanted satchel to the meeting. Kim opened the door to the classroom. As the room was revealed, he noticed three girls inside right away, only one of whom looked familiar. Right, Athena was her name, if he remembered correctly. She'd been at the same sorting ceremony as him. Even though they'd never really met before, Kim had remembered her name and face. He had a good memory for things like that, it was almost like a partial photographic memory. The other two girls looked like first years. And then there was Colin. Well, for some reason he wasn't surprised Irish was there. "Yo." Kim said, giving his trademark greeting to them. "Brought some food for you all to share. Ham and cheese croissants and chocolate ones." He told them and set the two containers down onto the desks that were meant to hold refreshments. Turning back around to face the two girls he didn't know, one encouraged him to take a seat, which meant she was probably the leader of the club. Kim nodded and headed over to claim one of the seats. "Good to see you again, Irish." He said with a faint smile, having gotten closer to him over the summer months. The things they'd shared together, the experiences they'd experienced, he would never forget them. It wasn't as if everyday something like that happened. ────────────────────── ㅤ ㅤ──────────────────────

Animal Lovers Club Meeting 1
She was late. Having gotten carried away with studying, Bailey realized 5 minutes before the Animal Lovers Club first meeting started. Bailey had signed up for the club when it came out, only a few days earlier, and had immediately roped Kim into coming too. She had roped him into coming to the clubs she was in, and he did the same for her in return. It was one of the best parts of their friendship- chaotic and awesome and she love all of it.
Running up to her dorm room Bailey grabbed her bag with her book, ink, notebook and water bottle, and then she grabbed her car Twinkle, and her tray of cookies. They were triple chocolate cookies which she had made at home for something like this- Kim would be happy, and food, especially cookies, were a great way to get new friends.
Running into the classroom, Bailey stoped at a “refreshment” desk and sat the cookies down. “I brought some of my triple chocolate cookies for people to enjoy. I know chocolate isn’t pet friendly, but I made them at home before I came, and before I joined the club. So.. just don’t let them eat it.”
Turning, bailey spotted several familiar faces. “Hey Kim! Hey Colin! Hey Lily! How are you guys doing? And if I haven’t met you, my name is Bailey. Bailey Glade! I’m a third year Ravenclaw- and sorry Lily I’m late. I got carried away studying!”

Setting her triple chocolate cookies in the table, Bailey pulled Twinkle out of her bag and into her arms. Even from across the room, Kim seemed to shrink away from her; or rather, Twinkle.
Making a mental note to send him an owl and ask if he’s afraid or allergic to cats later, Bailey smiled when Lily welcome her to the club, and asked what her cats name was.
“Oh! This is Twinkle! She’s my cat! Though that’s obvious!”
Sitting down in a chair, Bailey nodded along with Lily as the younger girl said that they were starting the meeting, and asked if they had anything to suggest.
Discussing animals and future meetings and activities… ok I can do that!
Smiling at lily, Bailey said “What if we did an icebreaker of sorts we could do to get to know each other better? I know you, Kim, and Colin, but I don’t know you two..” bailey said, indicating Athena and Kayla.
“I do have an idea for an icebreaker. We could go around, say our name, year, house, and pets name, and if you don’t have a pet, your favorite animal! Does that work? If so, I can start!”
Waiting for lily’s ok, Bailey petted Twinkle’s little head.

ㅤ──────────────────────| ── | Kim had expected to see Bailey there. But there was no sign of the girl who he spent more time with than anyone else. They two had met last year. Pretty much soon after they'd both arrived at the castle. The rumor that he and Bailey were secretly dating had become a topic that nearly everyone knew by now. Even though neither of them had confirmed anything particular about this subject. After the events of Spin the Bottle that Ali had set up for the students, their pairing had gone off the charts. This rather amused Kim and he figured Bailey was getting a kick out of it too. And now the two of them would be together again, in yet another club they both shared. It was almost as if it was destiny for them to meet up. That was when the girl in question suddenly made her appearance, with Kim's favorite triple chocolate scones! He was about to head over to greet her and steal one or two scones but abruptly stopped in his tracks. Bailey had brought a pet and that pet happened to be a cat, one who would take notice of him if he tried to close the short distance between them. But if that happened, Kim would end up in trouble. Health-wise that is. Perhaps he should indulge in that potion now. There were people showing up with more and more cats. Why were the pets all evil cats? What was so great about them?! Kim eyed Bailey's cat with trepidation and simply raised a hand in her direction, not daring to go over. "Yo." He said, giving his trademark greeting to the girl. And then, Lily spoke, letting them all know that the meeting was about to start. Kim stepped back, away from those with cats, and ended up a good distance away from those with felines. Puffie gave a normal squeak to everyone, which the puff used for greetings and normal things. Twinkle. That name fit Bailey's pet, it also made him think of her. The white haired boy watched from the chair he'd chosen and listened to what ideas Bailey had come up with. Bailey's idea for icebreakers seemed like a great idea to the boy. Kim listened as Bailey went first, well she'd already given out all her information seconds ago. But for those who weren't paying attention, it was good that she was going to repeat it! Once she'd gone, he started to speak because naturally their ship pairing was flying high, which meant he'd need to go next. "Kim Aoki. Second year Gryffindor. My pet is Puffie, who is a pink pygmy puff. He loves snacks, gets into mischief all the time but behaves really well when being transported." Kim told everyone and Puffie gave another squeak. Once again it was just a normal one though. The white haired boy glanced around to see who would be next to introduce themselves. ────────────────────── ㅤ ㅤ──────────────────────

Once Colin finished fussing with Uhuu's snacks he turned back and sat down next to Athena. He leaned back in the chair, lacing his fingers behind his head and stretched out his long legs and bare feet in front of him.
He smiled as Kim and Bailey entered, Kim with his pygmy puff and Bailey with her kitty. Colin nodded when Kim said "Yo" to everyone. He and Kim had grown very close over the summer, and he wondered what kinds of adventures they'd get up to this year!
"Heyo Aoki-Dokie!" Colin greeted Kim; "and his lovely and gracious lass, Bailey!" Two people that seemed to be everywhere were Kim Aoki and Bailey Glade. At least as far as clubs and clans were concerned! There was surely hardly any group they weren't involved in. Colin listened as the introductions started. He knew a few members already, but not everyone.
When it was his turn, he said: "Hey, I'm Colin! Second year Slytherin." He nodded towards his huge owl who was now perched up on the broad lintel above the door. "That's Uhuu, my Indian eagle owl. And don't worry! He knows that pets are not to be eaten!"
Uhuu only blinked his eyes and turned his attention towards something more interesting elsewhere in the room.

Kim had a feeling Colin would attend this club because he'd recently gotten a new pet, thankfully not a cat. It just made sense he'd join an animal or pet club. "Good to see you again, Irish. How've things been?" He asked, wanting to make sure Colin was fine. Even if he seemed upbeat and friendly, like his normal self, appearances could be deceiving as Kim well knew. The meeting continued for a time and after introductions were finished, Lily made an announcement. It seemed as if the point of the first meeting had merely been introductions but that was just fine. It made things a bit more relaxed and Kim liked the fact that there weren't that many people there. Too many people gathered together in one space was never good for him, especially when it was held inside. Outside was different as there was a lot of room. As Lily scribbled something down and handed out scraps of paper to each of them, Kim quickly read through the few lines. Lovely! The next meeting would be held outside. That was even better. As the people dispersed, Kim tried to catch Lily before she left the room too. "If possible, can we hold the meeting the same time as it was today? I'm really not a morning person." He said and then headed over to the tables. Picking up the empty containers Kim noted his snacks had apparently been very popular. He placed them back into his enchanted satchel as Puffie watched from his shoulder and then got out his wand to regard the room for a few seconds. "Scourgify!" Kim incanted, using the proper wand movements to make the spell go through successfully. The crumbs on the floor from the snacks and the dust that had accumulated instantly were cleaned up and the room returned to a clean state. Satisfied, Kim left the room, closing the door behind him with a normal squeak from Puffie. He wondered when the next meeting would be and what it would hold this time. It was bound to be fun though, as long as there weren't too many cats. ────────────────────── ㅤ ㅤ──────────────────────

Animal Lovers Club Meeting 1
It was nice seeing Kim again. Colin had heard that Kim was really sick on the train, but he seemed okay now. He realised that Kim didn't know anything that had happened since they last saw one another over the summer. So much had happened and so much had changed! There was Liam. And now Clair as well. Colin only smiled softly and nodded as Kim asked him how everything was going.
These were some things he'd rather talk about one on one. There was too much hurt to talk about openly, for sure. And there was too much going on in a meeting like this anyway!
The meeting was fun, though, and Colin enjoyed meeting everyone's pets, as well as getting to know Layla and his housemate, Lily. As the meeting came to an end, Lily scribbled some notes on bits of parchment. She gave one to Colin and it was barely legible.
He laughed as he tried to read it. "You know you've got really terrible handwriting, right? We'll see you then Lily!" Colin whistled for Uhuu and once the bird settled onto the boy's shoulder, he turned and skipped out of the room.
