A Stormy Afternoon
Efelion returned the smile and nodded at Angela, he was happy he could help her with finding something to read. Considering they were in the structure the book was written about and that it was required for their school work it would make for the best option. Who knows maybe there were some secrets about the school in the book that Angela could find that no one else knew in their year if she got ahead of them.
“They aren’t anyone I know” Efelion admitted, “Not even sure they are in our year.” As he finished he realized they didn’t have to wait long as a boy rounded the corner nearby. Efelion did not remember him at all but the look on her face when she looked back at him told him that she in fact knew them.
Efelion heard it in her voice that she was not willing to deal with the boy and he grabbed his bag before he spoke “We can leave now if you like, find a separate corridor or maybe a room away from him” He offered softly as he could see the worry in her face “Don’t worry, we will be fine, I am not sure who he is but if he causes trouble I’ll stand up to it.”
Efelion offered Angela the ability for them to move on from the current area and just out of the way, he could tell whoever this person was that she didn’t want to deal with him, and to Efelion that was justification enough for them to remove themselves from the situation. He didn’t care for the reasoning, it was not his place to judge other people on their interactions, Angela have been nice to him and as far as he was concerned that was reason enough for him to return the favor.
“Come,” Efelion said offering gently to her a way away from the boy “There are some rooms and some corridors nearby we can get away to.”

A Stormy Afternoon
She'd nod in agreement with moving positions. It wasn't the fact that the boy would bother Angela it more of Efelion she was worried about. She didn't know how he would react to the boy ."I don't really know my way around, lead the way captain." She loosely smiled, she was not completely happy with his situation but at least he was supportive.
"Angela!" A voice said from behind her. She didn't turn around. It was almost like she was stuck. "We need to go. Right now." She said almost coldly with a straight face. She was a dramatic person however in this situation it was rational. She'd met a generally nice person and didn't want it to be ruined by some daft boy.
Angela put her hands in her pocket to double check her drum sticks and wand where still in there. The weather outside had gone down a lot but it wouldn't be long till it started up again. Efelion said not to worry, however in this situation she was. It was more uncomfortable then anything not knowing how these two would clash or how it would end. So leaving this situation would be the best thing to do.

A Stormy Afternoon
Efelion Nodded as she asked him to lead the way and just beforehand he heard the boy call out her name. Efelion hesitated for a second but when he saw her face and heard the way she spoke he knew that she wanted to leave. Efelion started to walk away hoping she would follow close behind him away from the boy who had called out her name.
“This way,” Efelion said gently and calmly, he wasn’t scared but worried “If we go down this corridor here we can go out a little bit and circle into a room”
He was intentionally being gentle with Angela as he could see her in discomfort and didn’t want her to feel as if she was being led astray. He wasn’t afraid of the boy if it came to it he would stand up to him and tell him to leave them alone there was no obligation for him to be polite when someone was clearly uncomfortable.
“It’ll be fine,” Efelion said offering Angela his hand so they could keep close, he wasn’t sure if she needed it but he tried to accommodate her as best as he could in the situation “plenty of other places we can go where we may not be found.”
Efelion started to make the walk towards the exit hoping that she would be willing to follow him. He didn’t want to have to deal with a confrontation either if it could be helped so he was more than happy to flee. He didn’t know the other boy at all, maybe they’d been in the same class or maybe it was an older Slytherin he really didn’t know, and nor did he care.

A Stormy Afternoon
Angela was glad to have met Efelion, he had showed her almost a side to her she didn't know existed. Efelion had offered Angela a hand she wasn't the person to reject somebody, so she took it. As she walked closer to the exit she felt a sudden knock. The boy had walked into the middle of Angela and Efelion and was now facing them both.
"What you playing at Angela? and Who's this?" The boy blurted out whilest looking Efelion up and down. " Your hanging out with him. Your standards are low." He'd spit out. Angela had two choices. She knew which was the right one to choose but doesn't mean Angela would choose it. Her leg started tapping on the ground constantly.
"Oh, when did you get here? I didn't even notice. This is.."Angela started to speak before she got cut off. " A nobody as far as I can see." The boy said with disgust. Angela just slowly went quiet. Not really knowing what to do at this moment. She knew that soon she would have to choose and she knew who it would be even if it wasn't the right choice.

A Stormy Afternoon
Efelion felt the knock break the two of them apart and he turned around to see the boy splitting between the two of them. He could tell that the boy was not at all pleased before he even spoke. This was going to be trouble, he just knew it.
When the boy started berating her almost with her words Efelion’s hand that once held her balled up a bit, his knuckles white. He tried to keep himself calm from doing anything stupid. Someone that flung insults wasn’t worth the time of day normally but he could tell his friend’s body language that she was anxious about the situation.
When she tried to blow him off the boy simply continued with the insult it was bitter sounding, maybe he was frustrated that Efelion was spending time with her instead of him, he couldn’t tell. The words didn’t hurt Efelion to him it just made the boy seem like more of a child than even Efelion was. When the boy finished the insult Efelion spoke up himself.
“Are you sure you don’t mean yourself?” Efelion asked in a retort as he stood his ground “I wondered why Angela wanted to spend any time with me at all but after seeing how low the bar is, it makes sense now”
Efelion knew that this was a gamble, but he didn’t care. He didn’t care the boy used insults, Efelion was not one to lose self-esteem over someone he didn’t know however he was hoping by standing his ground that it might make the boy back off a bit. He was worried about Angela’s anxiety about the situation, this boy regardless of the reason it may be caused was the cause of it.
“We were actually having a pretty nice time as well until you decided to put yourself in the conversation” Efelion continued “What’s the matter? No one else wanted to tolerate you either?”

A Stormy Afternoon
The boys smirk had slowly faded whilst Efelion spoke to him. However the boy was not a person to give up in petty arguments, he loved to stir the plot no matter the scenario. " Full of yourself aren't you. He paused before continuing. "Many people tolerate me including the person standing next to you. She just took pity on you. The boy still kept eye contact with Efelion, rarely blinking whilest he spoke.
Angela stopped tapping her leg against the floor. She was showing people her weak side, something she had tried to avoid since she arrived at Hogwarts. Her body language had quickly changed. She straightened her posture and a cold smile almost formed. Angela looked Efelion up and down and in a way couldn't help but agree with the boy. Her standards had rapidly dropped. She'd wanted to speak up yet hadn't found the words to say.
" Your not far wrong. It was more of a charity case than anything" She snarled whilst gesturing to Efelion. " Pretty obvious now who is less fortunate among us." She'd be lying if she said she didn't feel guilty. She really did, however some problems she couldn't avoid. One of them being the boy. .

A Stormy Afternoon
Efelion wasn’t sure if the boy was being truthful, Angela had seemed a bit off at first but she had seemed to enjoy his company after they started talking more properly, she even asked him to take her away from the boy. Was he being played? It was unlike him to not know of someone’s intentions, he tended to be pretty good at reading people, it was something that he had praised himself on.
Angela suddenly seemed to stop her tapping and she stopped with any sign of anxiety as they stood there for a minute. Efelion’s neck prickled white hot as she spoke words of harmful venom at him. He just stood there for a minute, unable to determine what was happening. Was Angela truly just playing with him this whole time? Was this all just some mean game out of boredom?
“If you truly feel that way” Efelion spoke softly looking Angela dead in the eyes as he said, “Then I’ll leave you be.”
Her words sounded true but Efelion didn’t want to accept it, he wanted to believe that she wasn’t the type of person that the boy said she was. He had seen her with a different and kind smile before he had shown up. Maybe it was all just out of boredom like the boy said. Efelion didn’t want to argue a baseless point, there was no reason to.
“I’ll take my leave then,” Efelion said turning away “I hope one day you realize that kindness is far more likable than bitterness.” The boy had not much else to say to the pair of them as he started to walk away towards the corridor nearby.

A Stormy Afternoon
[quote]When Efelion spoke Angela could feel his eyes on her. She wasn't going stare back, her eyes trailed to the floor. Angela knew she was in the wrong for many reasons, however she was in too deep to back out now. She didn't say one more word after that. Angela was disappointed in herself for letting some arrogant boy mislead her. She knew she would have to apologise to Efelion but she had no idea how too.
Angela wasn’t one to easily forgive and if she had done that to herself it would have to be a miracle to forgive her. After Efelion had started walking off the boy was quick to react. "Pathetic, a wimp that’s what he is. What did I tell you about people like that.”
He said aggressively whilest grabbing Angela’s wrist and slowly tracing off.
She’d learnt a lot from today, perhaps her friends where not the best pick. Maybe the people you least expect will surprise you. Her apology to Efelion was the thing that was mostly on her mind. Angela would have to go all out and luckily the dance would be coming up soon. She had an idea, she’d just hope it would work.

A Stormy Afternoon
As Efelion walked away the boy yelled something out at him but he ignored it. The boy wasn’t what had him feel sick in the stomach. It was the betrayal of someone he had just met that was the problem. He hadn’t expected Angela to lash out at him in the way that she had and it felt bitter to him.
The boy rounded the corner and just sighed, he had only tried to be nice to her and what hurt him more was that she was keen on leaving the boy behind at the start but had turned away from the idea. Leaving Efelion’s idea of escaping instead of joining in on the boy's bullying, was what hurt him, a random boy flinging insults was nothing because Efelion had no care or affiliation with him but when someone he thought he had just bonded with did the same it stung much more.
He kept walking away trying to squash the pain and the thoughts of himself being stupid but he couldn’t shake it, maybe it had been her intention all along, to pretend they were friends so when she turned around and bit him with venom the sting would be even more. Was that it, or was it something else, he didn’t know, she had seemed so worried when she heard the boy coming as if she didn’t want to be around him.
It wasn’t long before Efelion found himself climbing the stairs of the castle, ever moving and ever confusing. Trying to find his way back to his own common room and away from the bitterness that he had experienced. The situation only fueled his anxiety about struggling to make new friends in a place he felt alone in.
