A Stormy Afternoon
Time: September 4th
Location: Corridor Second Floor
Weather: Thunder Storm
It was raining outside in the courtyard which was not really uncommon for weather in the UK but Efelion was saddened none the less, Normally he would have taken the time to sit by the fountain and study however with all the rain there was no real chance of that unless he wanted his book to be soaked. He opted to not go to the common room as he liked spending what free time he had before curfew away from there else it would feel like he was there too often and he didn’t want to go to the library as he wasn’t particularly going to be studying anything to do with school work.
Instead, he opted for a corridor, a place less traveled by people unless on their way to a class which meant although the odd student would pass by it was quite silent and comforting to him. There was thunder outside as well which was another comfort, nothing felt better than being indoors listening to thunder when he was reading it was calming to him. Efelion had only been at the school for a few days but had started to get used to all the areas, not running late for classes nor getting lost on the way to the great hall from his common room.
The book he was reading was the same one he had been reading on his train to Hogwarts, he was trying to finish it before the end of the week so he could read a new one if his parents opted to send an owl with a new book in tow. He was almost done and knew by the end of the week if he spend a few more hours reading he would be able to finish it. One more book that he could mark as completed.
It had been hard for him to read today though as for some reason he had felt as if he had been thinking too much about school, thinking about what clubs to join, thinking about what his friends must be up to. They’d asked him if he wanted to hang out but he had decided not to as he promised himself that he would take breaks from them or else he might become socially burnt out. Spending too much time with the same people could lead to him becoming overwhelmed or in some cases just needing some space.
So instead he looked for a spot where they probably would never look. He knew he would see them tomorrow anyway and they had other people they could spend time with to exert their social batteries. Not that Eefelion was drained but he just needed some space from the people he had seen every day all day. Just another reason to avoid the common room, Didn’t want to end up in a situation where they came over to him and started a conversation, his friends were nice but sometimes they didn’t quite understand the need for a little distance every now and again.

Angela ran into the corridor soaked, she went for a quiet stroll outside which didn't end well. She hated rain it was almost like a sign of sadness to her. In her hands laid two drum sticks, she'd been using them to practice playing the drums on some of the benches outside. Angela wasn't too used to the whole map of Hogwarts so she didn't know quite where she was. However, a little adventure could be fun but the first thing she needed to do was dry off.
Angela propped herself up against one of the windows. She placed her drum sticks to the side of her and tied her golden locks up into a ponytail. She could feel somebody's presents beside her. Not too far away from Angela was a boy. He had messy brunette hair which covered half of his face. His eyes enticed Angela in, they where a mix of hazel and green and stood out from the other features on his face.
He was reading a book. A nerd was the first thought that came into Angela's head. She had never been into reading, She was the type of person to start a book and never finish it which was a bad habit. However, she knew she needed to change that habit as She would have to read books for classes in the future. Her first thought would be to approach the boy, but what if he came here for some quiet time and she would ruin it. So she decided to stay put.
However Angela still interacted from far away, She smiled at the boy. A gentle smile.

A Stormy Afternoon
Efelion heard a sound nearby, something he hadn’t expected in such an odd part of the castle at this time. Someone had come through and was now standing nearby, a girl who must have been soaked in the rain outside by the look of her. She held some drumsticks in her hand which made him wonder if she had somehow snuck drums into the school with the rest of her things.
It was only after he looked up to see her now tied-up hair and her face that he noticed she had been looking at him with a smile on her face. Efelion thought for a moment, he didn’t want to be rude and he could always finish his book in the common room. He also needed to make new friends that weren’t just Alora, This could be his chance to make another.
The boy put a bookmark in and closed what he had been reading, putting the book away in his bag he finally approached the girl a little hesitantly, he didn’t remember seeing her in his classes but usually, he was nose deep in whatever he was doing. Maybe he just hadn’t noticed her in the same room before or maybe she was in the year above.
“Hi, I’m Efelion” The boy spoke with a smile back “I’m sorry I wasn’t paying too much attention to my surroundings so I didn’t even notice you were so close by, I just heard some footsteps.”
Efelion shifted his bag a little bit on his shoulder as he finally reach where she had been standing. He noticed just how wet she had gotten in the rain, it must have been pretty bad out there for her to have ended up so drenched. This is why he often stayed indoors.
“What were you doing outside in the rain?” Efelion asked looking at the pale girl, he couldn’t tell if she was pale from being cold or if it was her natural skin, and could easily see her brown eyes seeing as her hair was all tied up “Seems like a bad place to be when rain is coming.”

A Stormy Afternoon
Angela wasn't an overly social person, it was hard for her to sometimes know what to say or how to respond. She looked the boy dead in the eye whilst he was speaking, eye contact was something Angela found Important almost like a symbol of respect to whom is speaking. His name was Efelion. Quite an unusual Name Angela thought, she'd never heard it before.
"I'm Angela". She spoke in a neutral tone. Efelion had asked what she was doing outside. Angela didn't want him to think she was some weirdo who had nothing better to do then whack sticks on benches. A small lie couldn't hurt anyone.
"I was looking for my drum sticks, I left them outside. I'm quite forgetful. She replied whilst giving a quite awkward looking smile. "Now my turn for the questions. What are you even doing in here? Isn't it a bit boring."
He was standing now next to Angela, She could see him a lot better now than from far away. He was about an average height however compared to Angela he was quite small. Angela could read people like books. He gave off a care free presence, perhaps anxious sometimes.
She would most of the time Judge people like Efelion at first glance, however today was different. She had already been drenched and was shivering, an enemy isn't what she needed right now and who knows maybe he isn't all bad.

A Stormy Afternoon
“I was reading, peacefully” Efelion spoke with a smirk on his face as he examined the drumstick in her hand with his eyes a little closer “Reading a book on sleight of hand.”
Efelion looked back to Angela with inquisitive eyes, he found it hard to believe that she would have left the sticks there, they seemed important to her, who would leave the only muggle thing they probably had on grounds so easily? He smelt suspicion in her words, he tried not to judge Slytherin considering his closest friend was one he thought it in poor taste to mark them all as bad people but he felt like something didn’t add up.
“My friends sometimes can become a bit much so I tend to find quiet places at times” Efelion continued with a smile still on his face as he decided to lean up against the wall near her “Why, what does it matter to you?”
He wasn’t sure of what to make of her yet, Alora had been calm and nice but Efelion felt as if Angela was different. She didn’t seem to be so carefree, seemed like someone who cared about being prim and proper which was not something Efelion blended well with. Maybe just a hint of judgment behind her words when she spoke.
“Besides, you can learn many things in books that you can put into practice” Efelion tried to explain, “Sometimes, you need to read to put things into practice first, it’s the whole reason why we have the books in the first place, although what I was reading was something for myself.”

A Stormy Afternoon
[quote]Angela was intrigued to what Efelion was saying. He had a way of words which could make you relate. Angela had only met a couple of people who she would class as her friend but whenever there around she seems to act different. Perhaps its the influence of wanting to fit in or wanting to get along with people. Angela would class herself as a decent human being, she understood and accepted people's differences however, her lack of confidence makes her perhaps be someone she's not a lot of the time.
"I get it, sometimes you need your space from people. It can be a lot to be with them all the time." Angela said honestly. Efelion, he seemed sweet and she didn't want to come off rude to him.
Angela had never really thought of getting into book's and enjoying them. Perhaps she just hasn't found the right book. Sure, she probably wouldn't read it but its the thought that counts. Angela didn't fully understand Efelion, he was quite a peculiar person, she was judging him but silently.
"Any book recommendations? I probably won't read it but who knows maybe." She asked with a relaxed smile. Angela did not want to seem like a push over or too desperate. She puts others opinions before her own to please others which isn't the best for her.

A Stormy Afternoon
Efelion nodded in agreeance with her words when it came to other people. Sometimes being alone or just spending time with others was healthy. If he stuck around the same people all of the time he would never get to make new friends, nor be able to learn new things from those new people.
“Yeah, besides, if I spent all my time with the same people every day I’d never meet new people,” Efelion said as he noticed her tune had changed so he matched to be less blunt sounding and more caring finding a similarity with the girl who stood in front of him “Do you often spend time away from your friends as well?”
When she asked for book recommendations Efelion thought for a second starting to circle the girl a little bit, wanting to see if she could spot her wand, he wanted to show her in a fun way how reading could have practical use cases. He kept walking around a little and kept his eye contact where possible as he spoke to her trying to gather more information on the girl “Well it depends are you left or right-handed? Depending on your answer could change the selection of the book.”
Efelion know the query was odd but it would help him prove his point of reading could lead to a practical use case. If he could successfully show her something interesting maybe should be able to understand what could be learned and then applied. It’s how he used to be until he realized that knowledge was important for real-world use cases.

A Stormy Afternoon
[quote]Angela wasn't sure how to answer his first question, yes she did try and be separate from her friends a lot. However in the end they always seem to find her. It may not seem bad but in the moment
it's the worse."I do, I need a balance of time with and without them however this is really the only time I've been without them properly. There always just around the corner."She answered almost in a stressed tone.
As she listened to what Efelion was saying she couldn't help but get confused. How can what hand she write's with change the selection of the book. Even though she didn't understand she was curious of what he would reply with."Left. Quite a strange request?" Angela said whilst raising her eye brows up.
She stood up from the ledge and placed her drum sticks in her pocket. It was just Angela and Efelion in the corridor however, some loud chattering and muttering could be heard. She looked at Efelion with a confused expression. Nobody would be outside in the pouring rain so they must be near.
Angela had mostly dried off from the rain, her clothes where still damp and her hair was still wet but she wasn't as cold as she was before.

When She answered Efelion he thought a bit more trying to find something that the girl might like, the question was irrelevant, more meant to be distracting than anything someone who was confused and too focused would be someone to easily fool. When she put the drumsticks away he saw the pocket, it must be where her wand was. Before he could get a good look however the timing had passed and there were some voices nearby.
“I would say a good book to start with for someone who never reads would probably be Hogwarts a History” the boy decided, slightly disappointed that he would not be able to switch a drumstick with a wand now that her senses were heightened by others nearby
“You wouldn’t happen to know who is making that racket would you?”
Efelion knew that whoever it was, was not his friends, they were likely in their common rooms by now, they usually were, if not they’d be elsewhere in the castle exploring its endless corridors without him. Efelion had chosen this place to avoid them as he knew they wouldn’t be coming this way anytime soon. Were these just random people or were they someone she knew?

A Stormy Afternoon
@Efelion BerrendowAngela had brought many books from Diagon Alley, one of them being Hogwarts a history."Ill get on to reading it straight away." She replied whilst giving a gentle smile.
The chattering was still going on but it seemed to be getting louder. The voices Angela recognized but she couldn't remember where. " The voices are familiar but I can't seem to remember where from?" She questioned. She'd never had a good memory however she was sure she knew who they where.
A boy came round the corner Faceless Npc with a huge smirk on his face. Angela realized who it was. She looked at the boy then back too Efelion. "Maybe its time we go for walk, the rain has stopped." She said trying to stay calm in the situation. Angela was never good at keeping things calm so it was pretty obvious.
The reason she wanted to get out of there was because the boy wasn't the nicest person in the world, he was rude, cold-blooded and didn't care one bit. Angela had acted that way to the boy in the past meaning he knows her as that. Efelion seemed nice and sweet and she would hate to be mean to him now.
