Alora had been waiting for this day for what felt like forever, even if she'd only learned about it a few days before Valentine's Day. It had been the longest end of year in school for that reason, and trying not to tell her friends at school had felt worst than anyting. Instead, she'd told them her mum had decided to sent her to boarding school, using the presence of her aunt's appearance in town as an excuse for this. Lies her brother and aunt had helped her rehearse and perfect until they came out as naturally as the very air in her lungs.

After a heart rate speeding spree through platforms nine and ten, she had dropped off her trunk and given her last hugs before heading for the train. The messenger bag on her shoulder was heavy. Her aunt had charmed it to carry more than it was meant to, but had forgotten to help alleviate the weight not that Alora knew this was possible. She had snacks, books, a knitting project, and a pillow and blanket her aunt had packed for her, in case she got cold.

With her raven black hair in two braids and a black dress, she felt like she gave a bit of a Wednesday Adams vibe, at least, if the girl from the series wore platform doc martens, the only way she could reach anything. Adjusting the pleats of her skirt, she began making her way through the train to find an empty compartment to settle into. This proved harder to find, so she settled on the first that looked promising. A young lad that was definitely taller than her, not that that was hard to beat. Coming it at hardly 122 cm in height, Alora was always struggling against most things.

"Mind if I join you?" she asked the boy, hoping she had made a wise choice. If she'd learned anything in life, was that first choices in school settings always set the tone for the year, and she would need friends, that much she did know. Mostly, she hoped he wouldn't turn her away. Compartments are filling up, and I've got some snacks, aero, smarties, even a bag of crisps, she smiled. She'd snuck a few things from her family home to bring along. Food always brought people together, right?

Efelion Berrendow and @Alora J. Graves

Efelion had been awaiting this day ever since his parents told him about their days at Hogwarts, a place to learn and understand everything in the magical world it sounded wonderful. Sure he had learned things in books and on the odd vacation with his family but due to them working so often it was rare that he ever got the chance to fully experience that part of the world. Normally he was stuck at home with his books or with his dad helping him with his herbology which Efelion never truly understood.

Efelion had arrived at the platform quite early as his parents were busy people and needed to rush off. They arrived via car due to them not having any floo powder left which meant that unfortunately, they had to take a long way there. Efelion assumed his parents had just been too busy with their work to shop beforehand or had just forgotten to get some the last time they went to the Alley on their shop for his things. It was quite common for his parents to be forgetful of such things with how busy they often were.

Efelion tried to stay calm as they rushed through between platforms none and ten however it was gutwrenching, to say the least, he was used to odd and magical things but running at a brick wall would scare anyone for the first time. Once he was on the platform his parents helped him with his trunk as he dropped it off and all the boy was left with was his wand and his satchel bag which had a book, some treats from the Alley such as two chocolate frogs, and a box of Every Flavored Beans. His parents wished him well as he boarded the red locomotive and suddenly the boy was on his own.

Efelion walked down the aisles trying to find a compartment that was empty so he could read in peace, it wasn’t long before he found it. His hazel eyes darted around looking for others so he could avoid them. Efelion was tall already coming in at 144cm so he could see over most people that were the same age as him. His brown hair was slightly messy from the rush of going through the wall, messy from his brisk walk.

Efelion looked around the compartment checking the interior. The blue seats were quite large and even had armrests that could fold down between the seats, he did not need that, however. The boy half shut the door and got comfortable laying his back up against the wall instead of the seat and putting his feet up along it, hoping that it would deter too many people from joining his compartment. He put his bag on the ground and pulled out a book to read as he heard even more people boarding the train.

Efelion was wearing Baggy Jeans, some canvas shoes, and a t-shirt with a very vibrant graphic on it. It was the only muggle clothes he owned that his parents had bought him when he had convinced them to take him to get a skateboard. Efelion barely ever owned anything of the muggle world but he loved them and his board, he wished he was able to go out there more often but found himself practicing in his backyard quite a lot and never getting to see much of the muggle world.

Efelion was only 3 pages through his book when he was interrupted by a voice. He looked up to see a girl around his age standing at the door. Black hair in a black dress stood there, she had just asked if it was ok to join him. Efelion put his finger on the book where his eyes last were before closing it so he didn’t lose his place. He shifted a little on the fabric seat and nodded.

“Y-y-yes of course” He stuttered a little bit, Efelion was fine with people once he knew them but the first interaction was always the most nerve-wracking for him, he was more used to books than he was with people even though he had some friends through family connections “You can sit here if you like, I would suggest closing the door behind you though if you want to keep the space less filled” Efelion had always tried to learn to communicate well with words, he often found it the hardest thing to understand others so he tried to speak as clearly as he could.

Efelion reached into his bag and pulled out a bookmark, his parents had bought him it for his birthday and he cherished it dearly. Efelion had only just started it however he didn’t want to be rude and ignore the new person in the compartment. After putting his book away and his feet down he came to realize that the words she meant were snacks. Muggle snacks, things he hadn’t really gotten a chance to try.

“I have chocolate frogs and Every Flavoured Beans if you wanted to share them all together?” Efelion asked curiously what the muggle treats would be like “food isn’t needed to join this compartment but the offer is still nice.”

“I didn’t mean to interrupt your reading,” she said in lieu of an apology. She didn’t really see a need seeing as the train was still filling with students. If he wanted to read once the train left she wouldn’t interrupt. After all, they had six and a half hours to get to Hogsmeade, or so her ticket claimed, wherever that was. It sounded like an alcoholic drink any of her many would be stepfathers might have enjoyed in her child's mind. Though six and a half seemed small in numbers, it might as well be forever in hours. She could barely sit still for ten minutes, she could only imagine how she would be by the end of the trip. Hopefully they would both be good company. Just thinking about it had her play with the ends of her tresses.

Keeping the space less filled sounded great, and Alora didn't think twice to close the doors behind her at the suggestion. Too many people and the compartment would feel far too small way too fast. Once done, she sat across from the boy, lifting the strap from her bag over her head to get more comfortable in the space. At least she wasn't the only one that seemed to stutter when caught off guard, she thought back to her introduction to Ollivander's and how she'd been a bit of a mess afterward, though she wouldn't have had the words to express that properly. Now that they were sat a few things stuck out to her. Like the fact that she'd agreed to words that had generated nothing but questions in her mind. Was he like her aunt? A wizard? Did he know more than her about school? Would she get to pick his brain? All of a sudden the situation certainly became much more interesting. At least for her. She only hoped he wouldn't be as annoyed with her as most were with her mother for lacking magic. It wasn't like she lacked magic, she just hadn't been given an even advantage — and on purpose no less. Something she would likely resent her mother for in the following years.

“I’m sorry, what did you say you have again?” She asked gently, a bit perplexed as she processed everything, but instead busied herself with her bag. It would prevent him from noticing her faltering, and how she felt. As excited as she was, she was nervous. Extremely so. She hadn't slept in two days, and it showed in the small bags under her eyes. Keeping her hands busy and her head down meant avoiding the look she might be afforded for her inquiry. Honestly, she probably should have stayed quiet, but how could she when she swore she heard the words chocolate frogs and Bertie-something-beans. She was glad to hear that food wasn't a requirement, but what better way to make friends than to bribe them with food?

A smile spread on her lips as she settled her filched candy bars on the small table between them along with a bag of Walkers Salt & Vinegar crisps. Though she certainly had a sweet tooth, she also had a love for all things sour. She could just as easily eat a lemon, not that she would unless she had to for some reason. When it came to lemonade, the less sugar the better in her opinion. "Sharing is caring or so the saying goes," she beamed, showing off straight pearly white teeth. She'd been lucky, unlike many of her friends, her dentition had come in nicely where she wouldn't have a need for braces, but not so unnaturally straight that she would appear fake. Between her palates was the smallest of gaps not enough to fit anything between them, but just enough to be visible to the eye. "I don't really know, always had to take what I could while I could with a bunch of siblings in the house," she admitted sheepishly. Heck, even then it wasn't safe.

Opening the bag of crisps, she took one and turned it over to encourage him to try some as well, an action she wasn't used to doing. Perhaps with her friends in school when they shared their snacks and food, even toys, but not so much in her day-to-day at home. If anything she was excited for something of her own. Something that belonged to her, much like it had belonged to her brother, though unlike her and her sisters, he hadn't had the struggles they had. Not as much at least consider the age gap. "What were you reading?" she asked. "When I came in...you had a book in hand..." At least he didn't seem to be too miffed by the fact that he had had to put it away. She'd even spotted a fancy-looking bookmark, a stark contrast from post-it notes and scrap bits of papers she was used to using.

"How rude of me, oh my goddess, I'm Alora," she introduced, realizing she didn't even know this guy's name. Her cheeks were the slightest shade of pink. After a summer on the beaches of Falmouth, she had freckles dotted across her nose and cheeks, her pale glow a little more tanned than its winter white. "Alora Graves. I'm from Falmouth, in southern England. My friends tend to call me A.J. You?"

When she asked what he had said Efelion quickly dug his hand into his bag and pulled out three packages, two were the chocolate frogs and one was a box of Every Flavored Beans. Efelion could tell that the person sitting across from him was not familiar with the wizarding world and that to him was interesting. He had always enjoyed the idea of the muggle world as he barely ever got to spend any time out there, not that his parents hated muggles but just because they never bothered with the world outside their own.

Efelion listened to her speak about her siblings and he smiled a little bit, he had no siblings so the concept to him seemed interesting. Efelion wondered for a second about how it would feel to have to live with more people than just his parents and empathized, he could see how it could be stressful for someone even if he personally hadn’t experienced the issue she was talking about.

“Well… feel free to try some of mine as well” Efelion spoke shifting one of the chocolate frogs over to the girl “Just… eat the frog quickly, I only have two, and if you let it escape you won’t be able to eat it easily.”

Efelion watched as the girl opened the bag in front of him and he could already smell the aroma of the crisps. As she offered he took a single crisp in between two fingers and studied it for a second, it smelt amazing but also almost burnt his nostrils. Efelion took a single bite and the sensation of bitterness tore through his mouth. It was strange, to him he thought it would be unpleasant but somehow the bitterness of the treat was very enjoyable.

“This is amazing!” Efelion exclaimed smiling “I wish I had things like this more often, I can’t believe I’ve never tried these.”

When she asked what he had been reading he thought for a second before he ate the rest of the crisp and experienced the new flavor again as his brain turned. He looked down at his bag and then up at the girl before speaking. “I uh… It was a book on the history of Hogwarts” Efelion said awkwardly, not wanting to sound too nerdy, his cheeks going quite pink from embarrassment. “I just thought it would be a good idea to learn about where we are going more than just what my parents had told me.”

Efelion slowly took another crisp as he examined the girl in front of him. As he placed the whole crisp into his mouth she introduced herself to him and he had felt like an idiot for eating at that exact time. Efelion quickly Finished chewing before he spoke in return, feeling like an idiot for not introducing himself earlier. “My name is Efelion Berrendow, my parents just call me Effy or Ef.” Efelion spoke as he watched the slightly blushing girl across from him “It’s nice to meet you uh… A.J.”

Efelion smiled at the girl sincerely, feeling better knowing her name, it was less of a random person now and someone that he at least knew the name of. He wondered if her parents were on the platform awaiting the departure of the train which he knew was about to happen. His parents had left already due to their work but he noticed that a lot of people had been standing by the train. Maybe her parents were some of them.

“Are your parents here?” Efelion asked looking out the window “to say goodbye I mean?” The boy was trying to make conversation now, maybe this could be his first friend outside of the family friends that he had been forced to participate with. Efelion was surprised how many people had stuck around, was he the only busy parents of all these children heading off? It made his heart sync a little thinking that but turned to A.J. and smiled “After the train goes, would you like me to show you how to eat a chocolate frog?”

At the rustle of his digging through his bag, she risked a glance over, trying to catch a glimpse before he pulled out the items he had spoken of. Relief certainly filled her that he hadn’t mocked her or jeered at her lack of knowledge. Something she had feared, in this case, needlessly. The worst part was, there was no need for her to be ignorant of the wizarding world, but her mother was a squib, and as the world had turned on her she had turned on it and barred herself and her children from it. At least, as much as she possibly could.

Logan, the eldest of the Graves was likely the only one that had the closest to having a concept of what being an only child was. Though Alora had certainly verbalized the wish for it, she had never actually meant it. Truth be told, she didn’t know what quiet was, and she certainly didn’t like the few instances she had gotten to know such a thing. A few hours home alone might have seemed like the dream, but ten minutes in, it felt off, like someone was watching, and the safety in numbers lacked sorely.

As he shifted the ornate pentagonal box her way. A blue canvas surrounded by intricate golden filigree. It was beautiful, and yet, his warning had her pry her gaze away to search his gaze. “It’s not…alive is it?” It was the only explanation she had for it, but then again, she should have expected magic was involved, especially since she was going to magic school. It was just still new, and the routine wasn't there to truly drive it in. Not truly.

She beamed as he seemed to enjoy crisps. How queer that it seemed the wizarding world hadn't managed to achieve the superior state of the potato into a crisp. That was a pity. No, it was a travesty. Did they not fry foods of the wizarding world? She certainly hoped that wasn't the case. She loved potatoes in all their forms but crisps and chips were certainly among her favorite. "Glad you enjoy it! I'm sure I can convince my brother to send me some more. They have a bunch of flavors too. Onion, salted, paprika..." she listed, wishing she'd been able to filch some more.

Now that was smart, she probably should have brought that book with her. In fact, she probably should have brought any books with her. Six and a half hours to kill, and the train hadn't even started moving yet. She really hadn't thought this through. She didn't focus on that, instead trying to remember his name. It certainly wasn't a common one like James or Dick, so she was glad when he offered her some shorter alternatives. "I like Effy," she smiled. "Your name sounds like some really cool protagonist from a neat videogame or something." It might not mean much to him, but she hoped she could show him some day.

At his question she blinked and paused before nodding. Parents was a sore subject, especially that she had never known her father, and likely never would. It never stopped her from imagining what he was like however. "My mum isn't a witch so she didn't come," she said pretty simply without giving away her mother's troublesome secret. "My brother and aunt are here though, or they were... they came over to see me off," she said before pointing to the pair heading off towards the wall. A tall dark haired blue eyed man alongside a shorter, well-dressed witch with a wide-rimmed statement hat that covered half her face. "Long story short, I hadn't really been around either of them until well a few months ago, so it's been...something. They've told me things and yet nothing, and I probably should have brought books, but well, not really fond of reading...unless it's comics which I have some of those with me..." She dug through her bag and pulled a few old tattered copies of superhero comics that had seen better days she'd found in a second-hand shop. She also had a few copies of betty and veronica, but that was a whole other story.

"I...would really appreciate that," she admitted, looking at the intricate box that had intimidated her, reaching for it. She wanted to fit in, and she would learn everything she could to do so.

Efelion smiled at her words when she spoke of her Brother being able to send her more things from the world of muggles. They all sounded so wonderful to him He could tell that she was not of the wizarding world from her food and all her questions but he was ok with that, in fact, he found it nice to have someone to talk to that wasn’t just another person of the same ilk. He didn’t understand the muggle world well but it was in his nature to want to know and explore it just as he did the magical world, maybe one day when he grew up he could.

Efelion tilted his head “A Videogame?” he questioned himself, it was not something he had ever heard of before, yet another thing in the muggle world that he would have to look into when he was able. He was quite fond of not knowing these things though, just more to learn. “I am glad you like it, do you prefer Alora or A.J.?” Efelion asked her making sure he was using what she wanted.

Efelion frowned at the mention of her family situation of her brother or aunt not really being around until recently. Along with the fact they hadn’t really offered her any knowledge of the situation sat wrong with him although he didn’t want to say anything rude about them as she pointed to the two walking off. Efelion was once again interested in her words, “Comics?” He asked as she started digging through her bag. “Well, they may not have given you much in the way of things but… If you ever want to ask me, please feel free to as I might end up quizzing you on the muggle world”

Efelion watched the girl as she pulled out some thin what looked to be almost catalog-sized books with graphics all over them and he grinned with excitement “They look amazing!” He exclaimed looking at them from a distance “I love them.” He looked up at her and smiled at her, “My parents never get stuff like this…”

Efelion had a fond appreciation for the difference between the two of them. “Well let me show you real quick” , the boy spoke as he saw the girl reach for her box as he realized if she wasn’t shown first the frog could very much run away. “They aren’t real but, they are enchanted to look as if they are so if you don’t eat it right away it will try to escape and you don’t want your chocolate tasting of train carriage do you?” He joked as he took his fine pentagonal box “The trick is too…” Efelion simply turned so she could see a little easier what he was doing.

Efelion readied himself and then quickly opened the box, immediately grabbing the frog before it could hop away. He could feel it in his hands flailing about, trying to get loose in his hand. Efelion took a bite as the enchantment broke from his bite as the enchantment died it returned to a more normal state of a generic chocolate bar. And he finished the frog quickly so he could speak properly.

“The trick is to grab it immediately and eat it right away, you don’t want it hopping off, even if it feels weird in your hand it’s not worth the trouble to lose good chocolate” Efelion explained to A.J. “Give it a shot, if you miss it I’ll help you catch it, it won’t be able to leave the cabin with the door closed.”

That look in his eyes, she knew it. "In their defence, mum has a right fit when they say anything about Hogwarts or the Wizarding World," she admitted sheepishly. "So we all sort of tread gently, it stresses her out. The moment someone says magic, she needs a valium," her smile was apologetic and forced. Her mother had had a lot of trauma. At least that's what she'd been told. They had to be gentle with her, and what not, and she certainly tried. Being just a child, she didn't know what was too much to say just yet, so the brain to mouth filter hadn't quite kicked in. "Should have seen when I asked for a magician for my sixth birthday," she chuckled. "Of course I didn't really get it then, not sure I really understand it now..." A thought she didn't dwell on.

Instead, she moved to open the chocolate frog box, but only once she was convinced it wasn't a live amphibian. She kept the lid low to capture it in her tiny hands and held it as it bounced, giving a giggle at the tickle while keeping steady. It did so once, twice, and thrice! And then nothing. Lifting her palm slightly, she looked and it just sat still like chocolate, causing her to perk a brow. Reaching in, she took a bite out of one of its legs and smiled. "This is really good," she said with her mouth a bit full.

“So for earlier, a videogame... it’s a game but virtual?” she tried to explain, but she wasn’t sure if there was an equivalent. Logan and Ursula had told her not to bring her phone claiming it wouldn’t work. Of course, she’d brought it, being the hard-headed individual she was. “Here, let me show you,” she grinned, digging through her bag and pulling out cables and a charger before finally finding the thing rectangular device. “There we go,” she pressed the power button but nothing happened. “Hmmm,” she pursed her lips and scrunched her nose. She swore she had charged the darn thing, but then again, it was three generations past and had known two of her siblings before being hers. “I’ll just plug it into my battery pack,” she said with a hand motion, before digging deeper into her sac for it and producing it shortly after. Where she might not be organized in some things, snacks and electronics were definitely always within hands reach for the young witch. To her annoyance though, it too wasn’t giving its usual digital representation of its percentage. “Or not…” she muttered to herself. She had always been good about charging her stuff.

"I'll try to figure out on the way and see if I can show you, but basically it's sort of like a story but with images and you get to follow the main adventure from start to finish like you would a book, but unlike a book, you can change the ending, or even spend days just doing side quests, if that makes sense?" She wasn't quite certain how to word it. She liked a number of games. A few on her phone like puzzles and multiplayer games. She'd certainly miss her group in roblox.

"As for how to call me, well that depends... If you want to be my friend, then definitely A.J.," she smirked. That was the goal, wasn't it? To become friends, and she certainly could use someone that would help her adjust without judging her, and someone she could share her own knowledge with who seemed equally keen to learn new things. Of course, in his case, he didn't have to learn about her muggle way of life thus far. Something she would have to keep in mind moving forward with this new life. "And you most certainly should quiz me, though even I only know so much, so I might have to come back after a quick google search."

Efelion would just listen silently to her words as she spoke, he wish he understood what she meant but sometimes it was just gibberish, Valium? He wasn’t quite sure but he still found it intriguing anyway as they were to do with a world outside of his own. It was enjoyable to know someone from a distant place instead of sharing the same world that he did.

Efelion watched calmly as Alora opened the box but was prepared to catch it for her if she had accidentally let it go free. He didn’t have to do it, he watched as she executed it perfectly, not allowing the frog to get away from her. As she bit into the frog he smiled back. “They are really good and the box is like… a card, you collect them all or as many as you can,” Efelion said still smiling at Alora.

Efelion tried to understand what she meant as he watched her go through her bag and pull out a small device. He had seen those before, a Phone? He believed that was what they were called. Efelion took the time to move from his side of the cabin over to hers so he could sit next to her and watch as she fumbled around with the device. He then watched as she started riffling through her bag again for something else.

“A.J. It is!” Efelion exclaimed with a smile as he moved back to his seat once they realized the device wasn’t working. He wasn’t used to having someone around that he could talk to, let alone pick at about muggle things. He was excited almost about it all, even though he had anxiety about it all there was still a sense of adventure in his heart. “Do you know about the houses?” Efelion asked “The school houses of Hogwarts?”

Efelion wanted to see whether she knew about what happened at the beginning of their first year, that the two of them may not end up in the same dorm rooms. It didn’t mean they couldn’t be friends but he just wanted her to know they might get a bit separated. Efelion didn’t it just meant they’d have to find time outside of the dorms to hang out.

Efelion was hoping for Ravenclaw just like his parents, he wanted to be another in the family who finished with high marks and good distinctions so one day he could become an Auror and work on taking down the criminal wizards. He admired the Auror’s loved the stories in the papers about them and what his mother told him about them, Efelion admitted though his family didn’t seem very keen on the idea of him pursuing such a path.

“Also have you looked into what we’ll be learning at all?” Efelion asked Alora “If you don’t know I can run you through things when we find time, I’m more then happy to help you A.J. after all it’s what friends do right?” A smile was on his face now. He understood that the world could be confusing, even for someone like him who has lived in it, he can’t imagine what she must have felt entering into such a foreign land. If anything Efelion had respect for her jumping headlong into it, even he would take more time to think before ever considering jumping into the muggle world.

“And if you want to learn more over the holidays maybe we can spend some time at one another’s houses?” Efelion suggested, “and I can help catch you up on anything you think you might not have solved?”

A card that you could collect? Now he certainly had Alora’s attention. If there was something she enjoyed more than anything, it was something to collect. After enjoying the rest of the frog she inspected the box closer and at the bottom where the frog had sat was a card. Gently, she pried it from its confines and inspected it. A witch stood proudly with a fish in her arms…Mirabella Plunkett the inscription read beneath. She was so focused on the card, she hardly noticed how close he was. Sometimes Alora could get lost to her own devices. It wasn't uncommon.

"She moved!" Alora exclaimed, nearly bumping into him. When she was surprised, it wasn't only in her face, especially when she felt at ease. And with Effy, she felt comfortable, and therefore, she expressed herself with the entirety of her body, small limbs and all. "And now she's gone!" Her eyes widened, showing him the card as if to prove she wasn't going completely insane. "What in the world?!" She brought it back to look at it again. Confusion. Loss. She was unsure how to feel. There had been an image, and now it was gone as if it had been a gif that had stopped working and just turned black. "Is this a bug?" It seemed to be the word used when things broke on her games.

She probably should have been focusing on what he'd been saying, or rather the information he had been offering in regards to Hogwarts. Something about houses. Was she getting a house? How much was this private school? No wonder her mother was beside herself if she was getting a house! "Houses?" she asked and blinked. "Do those disappear too or just pictures on cards?" She couldn't let it go. Were all magicians witches and wizards? They waved a wand and made something disappear or appear, after all, was it truly magic and not illusion and trickery as they claimed?

"I have a feeling you're going to be filling a whole lot of blanks for me on this trip..." What they were going to learn? She had a few ideas from her textbooks. Potions, charms, self-defense, history, not that much of that really meant anything to her. "I guess a lot of it is going to be with our magic sticks," she grinned, pulling out her wand from her bag happily. That was something she hadn't been able to keep far from her being since she'd gotten it. She couldn't explain it, but ever since she'd felt that warmth in her palm at Ollivanders, she'd had this distinct feeling of possession. It was hers. "And apparently feathers," she added talking about her quill. "I honestly don't understand what's wrong with using a biro," she produced a small pouch of various pens, gel pens, markers, and pencils, a sort of hodge-podge of art supplies. She'd always liked to draw, but not being able to afford her own brand new supplies she often inherited odds and ends from her siblings. "Certainly more efficient..." she shrugged, taking out a sketchbook. At least she could keep her hands busy as they talked to avoid nearly attacking him again with surprise or some other strong emotion.

"Do you draw? Or have hobbies? I mean I'm sure you have hobbies, I mean what do you like to do when you're not learning about school?" she asked with a smirk?

Efelion chuckled a bit at her words he had forgotten that the muggle world’s art was not the same as the art they had in the wizarding world for a little bit “yes, you’ll find that most art when it comes to being around this part of the world, does, in fact, tend to wander off sometimes.” Efelion said with a smile, still remembering his time seeing it although it was not nearly as impressive for him as he grew up around magic. “You will get used to it in time I promise” Efelion comforted her with his words a little bit.

When she asked about houses he was a little lost for a second, he had assumed that she had at least been told by her aunt. He was a little perplexed by the confusion but decided to explain it from the start so she could understand better. “When you go to Hogwarts, there are four…” He tried to think of a way to describe the houses “Teams, you get put in one of those four teams until the end of your final year.”

Efelion found it kind of comforting that he could talk to someone so fresh into the world that he had been in for his life so far. He wondered if the roles had been reversed if A.J. would have explained all the muggle things to him. He was just glad that he could help her understand the world a bit better.

A magic stick? Was something that took his time to think on that as well “A wand!” Efelion exclaimed happily as he noticed what she had pulled out “I have mine as well!” Efelion went to his bag and pulled out his own to show it “34 centimeters, cheery wood with a phoenix feather core” he repeated what he had been told effortlessly. Efelion had been very protective over his wand ever since he got it.

Efelion giggled a bit at the words about the quill, he was surprised that wizards still used them as well, Efelion was by no means an expert on the muggle world but the few times he had been out there he had seen pends before and never quite understood the difference either. Maybe there was something more magical about the old-fashioned way that allowed enchantments or something?

Efelion was in deep thought about his hobbies. He had never been asked that before but now that it came up he realized that he had never really considered things hobbies. “I suppose I like skateboarding, It’s the only thing from the muggle world outside of these clothes that I own” Efelion started “I only ever get to ride it in the backyard but I learned a few things from trial and error. Oh and I like going to quidditch games!” Efelion tried to think of a few more things he liked” I also like exploring places that I haven’t been, my family goes camping a lot which is fun.”
