There's a Leak in the Pipes
@Wyatt Starkey, @Cassandra Ironwoods, @Hanako Tone, @Flash Holmwood, @Opeila Winters, @Haley RoseAdlai allowed her eyes to bore into Hanako. She was livid. "Personal Project?" She chuckled to herself before sucking on her teeth. She knew he was giving her absolute bull crap and she obviously wasn't in the mood for Hanako's dancing and dodging of questions.
"Care to elaborate on that personal project, H a n a k o?" She asked, enunciating every single letter in his name in an attempt to fully grasp his attention as he seemingly desperately tried to change the focus of the conversation onto Haley's arrival.
"Opeila was in the chamber?" Adlai asked as she listened to Cash. "By herself?" She had only spoken to Opeila a hand full of times, but she knew for a fact that she wasn't a parselmouth and that she had only recently become a hamster meaning she couldn't know any parselmouth or the current password to the chamber. "How could she have gotten in there by herself?"
"And those two found her?" She stood up from her seat and placed her hands on her hips. Nothing was lining up, especially not with the bits and pieces of something she was just told about that could have happened who knows how long ago. "I need someone to tell me the whole story of whatever the heck happened and soon."

“Well, it was supposed to be resolved,” Wyatt ground out, looking at the floor with his arms crossed. He then looked up to Adlai, feeling a bit faint. “Tone and I found Winters in the chamber last year. We brought her back to the Slytherin common room and saw Ironwoods and Flash there who… uh, did a bit of an interrogation. Since then, we’ve kept it quiet for Winters’s sake.”
Throughout his admission, Wyatt’s eyes had been darting from thing to thing to Adlai. He was glad that the retelling being over meant that he could go back to looking at the ground and not the suddenly scary girl he had been addressing. Still, he felt bad and a bit lightheaded. Overall, not so great, but he couldn’t recall a time he had felt perfect so that meant he was perfect now. Yes, this reasoning was solid. Luckily, however, the blame was mostly (rightfully) placed on Hanako.
So far, a voice murmured in Wyatt’s head. The paranoia was setting in, and Wyatt wondered how soon it would be before they began to point fingers in his direction. He had suspected Hanako of being the one to put Opeila in the Chamber, but saying something before anyone else would have made him just as much of a suspect. Especially when his story began with him in the chamber first, and Hanako stumbling in after. If Opeila wanted to share who put her down there, she would.
But what were the chances of that? If Opeila was, as Hanako suspected, the one who ratted out their little society, then she was incredibly vague in her gossip column. Without someone else holding him accountable, would Tone ever be brought to justice? He did kidnap someone and left them in a damp old basement overnight. But that’s just it, when Opeila wanted to make herself known and call Hanako out she would. People would believe her. Tone was obviously capable of cruelty.
And the endless cycle of doubt continued, with Wyatt’s belief that keeping quiet was the right thing to do, switching to remorse in a matter of moments. How could he let these people know that he allowed Hanako to continue business as usual after locking someone in the Chamber? Wyatt took deep breaths, attempting to calm himself and not pass out in the middle of the Great Hall.

To be frank, Opeila had forgotten. No, not about that horrific night she had spent down in the chamber of secrets, waiting for the devil to enter, but about the petty revenge act she pulled after putting two and two together. When she saw it in the newspaper this morning, more than a year later, she almost choked on her pumpkin juice and she immediately felt uneasy.
It wasn't like she thought what she had done was wrong. No, she still didn't. But this was a trail to her and a trail in shiny colors it was. This would come back to her for sure and Opeila was not sure what to prepare for. Soon, very soon a group assembled in the hall, not far from her. Close enough for her to eavesdrop anyway.
Maybe this wasn't that bad. Hanako would surely not rat her out, that would automatically backfire on him. The Slytherin forced herself to take a deep breath and continue eating. Not raise her head but to keep her eyes focused on her plate and the newspaper.
And eventually, she had to admit, it was amusing to listen to. There was anger from several and... maybe she was hallucinating, but she felt like she heard a little fear in Hanako's voice.
It was amusing precisely as long as her own name didn't fall. Which wasn't long. The fork slipped out of Opeila's finger and clattered onto her plate, the Slytherin froze.
Ok, maybe... just- maybe it was time to retreat. Now. Emphatically relaxed Opeila got off the bench and turned away. Time to leave before someone thought to redirect the fire.

The meatshield (Haley Rose) helped, but not quite enough. Hopeful naive optimism and the innate urge to ignore every problem he came across could only help him so much. And it seemed like there was no way of escaping the inevitable now. Would they accept a sorry excuse like ‘ oh i forgot to tell you all, opsies~’. Sounds very in-character of him, but something about how his full first name was said by Adlai that reminded him more of a time bomb ticking every so slowly, and yet not far from exploding. The mere tone of it send chills down his spine he wished he could ignore. Never could he imagine Adlai capable of sound so… terrifying. This is why you don’t piss off nice people. He had been testing that theory for quite a bit now.
While he had a major dilemma right now with being under suspicion of kidnapping a student , there was also a flicked of concern for another problem he had been avoiding for quite a while. The Paper-Bag facade he put up in front of Adlai. Despite his better judgement, he allowed himself to feel relieved that at least that secret hasn’t been found out yet. If this day thought him anything, it should be that ignoring everything won’t solve problems. Good thing he wasn’t a quick learner.
Unfortunately, Adlai wasn’t the only one showing Hanako just how in trouble he is. Being screamed at by anyone wasn’t necessarily new for the boy. By how white Ironwood’s knuckles look, Hanako frantically stepped away from the safe confines of Haley’s back, expecting to be the only one that’s going to get a good punch. Only to see the table being Ironwood’s target. He was still unsure if he’d prefer being punched, or the tense atmosphere that followed afterwards.
‘So they finally figured it out’
"I know you are an idiot but I never thought you are this daft and shallow,"They added. "What drives and possessed you to make such an idiotic move?"
Hanako scoffed and made a face as if he were about to say something like ‘ You wouldn’t understand’, but bit his lips and turned away. Slowly, Hana realised he could ask the same question himself. The thoughts that led to that decision felt like a blur. Despite having ignoring the whole schenanigan for months, it was impossible to completely forget just why he did it. The scene of Percival after his assumed to be awful break up with Opeila was just enough. But who would understand that? All he knew was that Percival shouldn’t be the only one who had a hard time.
A few months ago, it would’ve been easier to convince himself he was just being a good friend. Knowing this only made him wish he was caught earlier. Clearly, it wasn’t the best decision to do even if it was for a friend. He understood that but that wouldn’t change the outcome. And
"And look at the consequences of your idiotic plan put us in,"They continued. "You happy now, dumbass?"They asked sarcastically at Tone. He tried to stand his ground but under the harsh gaze of the Slytherin, it was beginning to be difficult. "When I am done with you, sorry is the last thing that will come out from your mouth, you hear mean, Tone?"
“C r y s t a l” he said monotonously, accompanied by an empty smile. In other words, ‘Sorry’ truly will be the last thing that comes out of his mouth. The only thing he regrets about doing his little prank was the consequences that followed afterwards. He sucked in a huge breath and let it out, just like how he was done with this conversation already. “Maybe, you all can direct your anger to me and allow yourselves to fully express your disappointment another time at another p l a c e. I wouldn’t want the next headliner to feature news like ‘Student Died at Great Hall from Intense Glares’. I suppose that would help them forget this new gossip we have currently ".
Clang
Hanako’s eyes darted towards the sudden noise, his eyes widened at the familiar face, but didn’t move in the slightest. He merely watched Winters as she turned away from her plate, suddenly looking too uncomfortable to eat anymore. Did she hear them just now? If so, how much? Did she know enough for her to scurry away like the hamster she is? If Opeila left the Great Hall and no one stopped her, Hanako’s eyes remained on the girl until she was truly gone. Perhaps it would be time for them to have a chat, sooner or later. With this, he turned back to the group.
If no one wants to tackle Opeila and prevent her from leaving: (this part of the rp is only valid and considered done if Opeila is stopped. If not, just ignore this.
“Look, are we done here then? Specifically, am I done?” his tone was harsh, but purposely vague. Enough to leave room to what he meant by ‘done’. Done with this meeting, or done totally with A.S.P?. Everyone present here was fully aware of what happens when their hamsters misbehave. And if Opeila truly was the one behind the released gossip, Hanako was well in the position to be in deep trouble by the club. Or worse, kicked out. A future he dreaded to contemplate on, so his eagerness to leave was all time high. “ I mean, you guys would probaby feel more comfortable talking without me here. I’ll await your verdicts in the mean time, 'your honors' ” with a last mocking smile and bow to the group, he turned away to make his exit.
If he wasn’t stopped, the only person with a special goodbye would he Haley. With a weak grin, he said “ C ya laterz, Droopy” before continuing his way out. With each step along the way, bits a pieces of his facade crumbled ever so slightly. Slowly turning into this muddled mess of anxious frustration, regret, and weakness. A life without A.S.P? He would need to at least hold his head high until he reached the safety of his room. Godforbid they actually knew he cared. If worst comes to worst and he was kicked out, he would rather be kicked out being known as someone who didn’t care enough for the A.S.P.
