He didn't move this time. Rather he had helped a team mate move further than any of the other players. It was the same move which had move Angel win the last broom race. Maybe it could also win them this race as well. They weren't too far from the finish line and it was looking in the favour of his team. Berry supressed his smile as he couldn't celebrate a win just yet. He still needed to focus on himself as well as everyone else. As long as his head was in the game, nothing could go wrong.

Additional momentum from Sébastien carried him forward faster and further, and suddenly, finally, Raphael was in the lead. A small laugh escaped him as he raced ahead, wind whipping his hair back, fingers growing cold around his broomstick. He could see the finish line ahead, and there was only wide, open field before him now. Almost there, almost there.

She could MOVE! She was back, and ready to at least try and help her team. This slow broom really was no help. She needed a better one. She zoomed forward, ignoring most people of she even saw one, she was pretty far behind. She held her breath until she reached the cave and made it through. At the end, she scratched her arm and winced. She sidnt even bother to glance at her arm, it couldn't be bad anyways. It would just distract her. However, her broom eventually came to a stop as it protested against the constant movement. She groaned and shook her head. It wasn't the brooms fault. It must have been a wonderful broom at one point. At this time, she glanced at the scratch. It was red. Definitely red. It was bruising just a bit. But overall not bad at all.

Angel surveyed the area as her hand wrapped around her broomstick, pulling it up between her legs and kicking off the ground as hard as she could. Durmstrang had cut through the vines to free their people, but would it have been soon enough? Her gaze turned forward, looking for the front runners. She knew then what she needed to do to ensure Raph’s success over the finish line.

As expected things were rather smooth sailing. Enzo passed through the upcoming obstacles with an air of calmness around him, dodging each of them with ease. Meanwhile, his gaze was peeled forward and his hands were tightly grasping his broom, as he continued urging his broom to go even faster.

Round Five

The race was now nearing its end, two racers almost neck and neck, trying to win. Their skill would determine the winner, but who would claim that oh so coveted win?

Unit Seven

Coraline was the furthest from the pack, but that didn't mean she didn't have any tools in her arsenal to slow the opposing team down.

Miss

Coraline would find a particularly heavy rock, and attempt to hurl it at Durmstrang frontrunner Cielle. Unfortunately, it seemed the distance was just too far for the young Mahoutokoro, and she would miss.

Unit Twelve

This unit was particularly packed, with many racers caught tight in the vines. After Mikael's successful cast last round, surely more racers would be able to escape the vines.

Now that the vines had been slashed quite viciously by Mikael's Diffindo, all the racers, including his opponents, were now freed from the tight binds of the vines. It would be here that the MahouBaton's would begin an onslaught.

The MahouBatons had managed to find a perfectly placed pile of rocks right near the severed vines, and each one of them proceeded to pick one up, forgoing any movement whatsoever, and they took aim. Three of the four aimed at frontrunner Cielle, all but Enzo hitting their target. Chiaki had opted to attack Henrik, as he looked like he was on his last leg, and her aim struck true.

Meanwhile Yefia opted to forgo any progress by Alley Ooping Mikael, hopefulling doing what they could to maintain their lead.

Unit Thirteen

The two Durmstrangs probably hadn't been expecting to be flying solo, but here they were, zooming past the Whomping Willow with rather fast speeds, completely unscathed.

Alley-Ooping was always risky, more speed made it harder to control, and sometimes the broom would jerk. Mikael seemed as if he had the perfect aim, but his broom jerked at the speed, throwing him directly into the thorns. Nichlas made it out fine, and the two would speed past Maximilien, who appeared to be grabbing something off the ground.

Maximilien would find a particularly heavy branch on the ground, and would toss it at Cielle. It would be another hit, surely Cielle wasn't feeling too great.

Three Durmstrangs would attempt to catch up with the few in front, this time attempting to make it through a forest of incredibly close together trees.

None of the players were able to escape the pain of running directly into the trees. Sides were scraped and limbs were bonked as they flew through.

These vines proved to be more challenging than initially expected, and two of the Durmstrangs became caught in the vines. Getting out turned out to be extremely easy, and the two broke out with little issue, continuing onward, Henrik now joining them.

Nichlas would begin to slow, the group racing along ahead of him.

These few empty units must have been tense, as racers attempted to catch up to those in the lead. Two Durmstrangs would slow here, Mikael at the end of his Alley Oop.

Sébastien would slow, watching Henrik push onward.

Unit Twenty-One

Henrik would begin to slow now, more so due to his earlier backfired spell than because of his efforts. However, he clearly hadn't been expecting an attack from MahouBaton, and a rock came hurtling his way, hitting him square in the back. This sent the boy flying foreword off his broom, landing on the ground below, now unconscious.

Unit Twenty-Two

Cielle would face the first round of winds unopposed, surely making it through with no issue.

Raphael managed to hold on despite the heavy winds, but for whatever reason, perhaps the acid still burning at her skin, or the numerous scrapes from the thorns, Cielle's hand's slipped from her broom, and she came tumbling down hard to the ground. It would be here that the onslaught of MahouBaton projectiles would come flying through the air, five to be exact, only two of which missed. Cielle wouldn't be able to take all that damage, and would pass out here on the ground.

Unit Twenty-Five - Finish

This was it, Raphael could practically taste the victory that was right ahead of him. As he passed through the empty unit, he would soon approach the finish line. Beauxbaton would hold onto their Broom Racing Victors title for the second year in a row, this year with the help of Mahoutokoro.

Headmaster Plott, who had been watching the game from the stands, would announce their win as Raphael raced across the finish. "And we have our winner here folks! Raphael Aveline has crossed the finish, winning it all for MahouBaton! Nicely done both teams!"
