Yep. Most schools in my area start between August 14th and August 19th.
I have three children in school now and our school doesn't have a proper cafeteria so most of the schools bring lunches. I've spent the last week buying school supplies and lunch supplies for all three.

Wow. I was the only child in the family, so it's hard for me to even imagine such a situation. It must be really stressful. But what about schools, why doesn't school start on September 1st? Is there a special reason for this?

my school starts pretty late, like 8th of september.

It's stressful if I do it the week before. XD I usually do shopping the last two weeks of July and can spread it out a bit.

There is not a special reason that I know of. It just when we start. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Although, our schools are required to have around 180 days in session and so it's probably because starting on August 15th means that school ends around May 26th and we get a whole two and a half months off, plus little breaks throughout the year. Starting September 1 would either take away some mid school breaks or put us two weeks into June. But that's just speculation.

june 3th???? that's a really long holiday!! mine starts like mid july!

oh wow! yeah, my school's a private school too, that could be the reason maybe? i know public schools in my area start september 7th too but then end like 2 weeks after my school does
