Summer Duelling Funtime Extravaganza, Match: 1
The young duelist's eyes widened in awe at the sight of Meenauh's Lumos Maxima. That was certainly going to be a problem, in fact his reflexive eye widening resulted in Tom's retinas being burned. "Aaaaaaugh, my eyes!" He wiped his tears away, grumbling angrily at his own foolishness. Truthfully, Thomas was having a bit of a rough duel thus far, having not landed a single spell that he had cast. It was a good thing that the only bad thing that had happened thus far were his own mistakes, because he would have likely been a little peeved if his opponents had come after him at all...Action: As strategized!

Interacting Directly with: Nobody in particularDelilahs Wind Jinx did actually do its job... partially. It did push the cloud away, although not long after Delilah specifically got another cloud, and she missed Lamik too. It also wasn't long before it was nearly impossible for Delilah to see. Getting her eyes absolutely burnt, she couldn't even tell where it came from because it was that bright. She was mixed between shutting her eyes and seeing nothing or opening her eyes....and seeing nothing.

While the sun was shining upon the London Quidditch Stadium, the area occupied by this specific duel was a chaos of fog, thunder clouds and flashes of light.
As their next move, the Gryffindor team decided to hone in on Ravenclaw's Delilah. The girl was a threat, no doubt, but if Alan and Lamik had their way, wouldn't be for much longer. A well-placed Flipendo and Aqua Eructo hit the girl, who due to the fog and light impairing her vision, had no chance of dodging. Meanwhile, Meenauh perhaps decided the cloud grumbling above the Gryffindor team's heads was too dangerous to tolerate, and sent it back to where it had come from: Just in time, as only the blink of an eye later, lightning struck not once, but three times; once for each member of the international team.
Just before the cloud unloaded its anger at them, the foreign students had a strategy of their own. While all attempts to land a spell on Meenauh had failed before, they could just keep it coming until something stuck. It didn't happen this time, however: Both Amaury's burst of flames and the wind that Hadashi conjured went wide, the Gryffindor girl remained untouched. Greta was getting tired of the constant clouds of fog obscuring the field, and decided to help the visibility a little by vanishing the conjured fog. Perhaps it would help her team mates aim next round?
The Ravenclaw team had their eyes set on the Gryffindor team as well, but here too to no avail. Even Aida's uncanny ability to spot enemies and attacks when eyesight would not do much did not help, and both her attempts to slow Lamik and the burst of wind Thomas sent at the boy failed to meet their target. But then, here too maybe the future would bring better chances, as Delilah decided to give herself and Aida a boost of confidence, steadying their hand and (hopefully) improving her aim for the next few spells.
While a moment ago, the Ravenclaw team had been the only one with any noticeable damage, the tables were turning a little. That one storm cloud had had quite an impact on the visiting duellists, and now, it seemed the Gryffindors were reigning over this duel, even with everything their opponents were throwing at them.

Aida watched as a huge lightning bust erupted over the international team. The white wix still remembered the feeling from suffering their own previous metelojinx, and in particular Aida sympathized with the Durmstrang girl’s position. What were the odds, wondered Aida, proceeding to run the calculation through their head. Overly distracted, this of course doomed the wix’s aim.
Doing as strategized.

His mouth gaped at the sight of three lightning strikes in what felt like the span of a few seconds. This duel was truly something else, Thomas was bewildered by what was taking place before his very eyes. That shock turned into laughter at the absurdity of it all, the Ravenclaw was over the moon that even if his team wasn't doing awesome, someone else appeared to have been doing much worse. "PFFFT, YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!" He was unbothered by his own failure in this moment, too amused to take his miss seriously.Action: As strategized!

"Ventus!" she proclaimed as she watched a gust of wind to move the cloud from above their heads to above a few other heads. And right on time. As the cloud was merging into the existing one, three lightning struck and pinpointed all three duellists from the guests' team. She had never seen such a show before. She looked at her wand inquiring whether it could have caused it but then rationally shook her head. It was truly one in a million chance of that to happen (of course not, but let's keep the chance for the gratitude of the moment).
Whatever she planned next wasn't as spectacular as what has just happened. And probably never will.

Amaury Favreau
Amaury's brain felt like scrambled eggs as he tried to recover from volts of energy coursing through his body. His teammates, he noticed, seemed to be just as singed as he was. Hold up-- did all three of them get struck by lightning at once? What were the goddamn odds? This duel was absolute insanity. A freak of nature, with ridiculous odds and even worse luck, particularly from the international team. If Amaury weren't so stubbornly stuck on winning this thing and preserving his pride (and ego), he'd probably already want to go home.

There was a beautiful chaos over the way three lightning bolts struck from the cloud all at once, if he hadn't seen it with his own eyes, then he might not have believed it. The voice of @Thomas Baines caught his attention and his laughter and Alan could not help but grin at him, quite proud of his spell's success. Maybe the odds were in their favor after all. Or at least he hoped it was his, it didn't really matter in the end. It was two clouds but one, as it had merged into one. But perhaps that was what had amplified the strike chance?

That sure was something. His team seemed to be doing well, which was quite a relief, especially given the guests... Predicament. That being said, you never know how a duel can change. These things sometimes felt like they were but a roll of the dice. It was clearly all skill though.... Right?

───•─•────────────────────────────────────•─•───

───•─•────────────────────────────────────•─•───Leave it to Durmstrang to attract the storm. Despite the coalescence of grey clouds above all teams, none had yet felt it's impacts. Greta certainly wasn't expecting to. In fact, as the fog about them dissipated and their line of sight to their opponents cleared, things were actually starting to look up. Opportunity seemed ripe to catch one of the Lions more evasive ones off guard, and the little Valkulyeie took her aim. She couldn't possibly have been prepared for what came next. As though Thor's hammer had descended upon her and her team, lightning struck. Not once. Not twice. But thrice. In quick succession, they would all feel it's crackling jolt, muscles seizing, white hot pain so intense it knocked the senses blank as it shot through to ground. Left temporarily paralyzed, her wand jerked as the spell left it, ruining her aim. It was gone as soon as it had come and she would fall to her knees, temporarily stunned and fighting back the well of tears. Fingers curled, grinding against the stage of their duel. And shakily, she would push herself to her feet, the song of triumph that swelled over the crowd whispered on her lips to imbue her with a strength to continue that she didn't currently feel.
