Emily was very happy for today. Why? Well, its because she got an owl from her cousin Hideaki asking if she wanted to come to the library today to hangout and maybe do homework. Emily replied to the letter saying that she'll come to the library at 2.

Since its almost two, Emily walked to her trunk, took some clothes out, and changed. Emily is wearing a light green shirt with black jeans as well as white shoes. She then picked up her school bag and left her dorm.

She walked to the library at a somewhat fast pace. Once she got to the library she looked for Hideaki then when she saw him at a table all alone she smiled and walked over to him. She then sat down beside him and said,

"Hola, Hide!"

Hideaki looked up from the book he was reading when he heard his cousin's voice. He smiled at her and said,

"Hola, Em!"

Emily looked at what Hideaki was reading. She then smirked when she saw the title. Emily saw her cousin look at her confused. She then heard him ask,

"Why are you smirking? Unlike you before I moved into your house I went to an actual school."

"I know that. But why are you reading Quidditch Through the Ages? Haven't you read it a lot at home?" Emily said.

"Ya, I have. I was just bored waiting for you. You took too long!" Hideaki said.

Emily then laughed slightly. She then said, "Well, I had to get ready, Hide."

"True. I haven't seen you wear that before. Did mum send it to you?" Hideaki said.

"Sì, she did." Emily said.

While the two were talking they weren't aware of people walking over to them. Who is walking over to them? Well, you are.

The two didnt even notice the girl walking over to them. They only noticed when she sat down and spoke to them. Hideaki jumped and Emily laughed at him which caused him to glare at her. The two then looked at her.

Emily noticed that she was wearing Hufflepuff clothes and she wondered why. She then heard Hideaki speak,

"Hello, Lily. I'm Hideaki. Hideaki Hio. You can call me Hide if you want to. If you don't mind me asking, what house are you in?"

Emily decided she should introduce herself too, so she said, "Hi, Lily. I'm Emily. Emily Flower. I'm Hide's cousin. He's a Slytherin and I'm a Gryffindor. You don't really look like a Hufflepuff, so I'm guessing someone dared you to wear that."

Emily saw that Hideaki was shocked. She had a feeling that he probably didnt think about that, so she decided to ask,

"Your shocked cause you didnt think of that, now did you, Hide?"

Emily knew that Hideaki was taken aback with what she just said. She then herad him say, "How, how did you know that?"

"I don't know. I just felt thats what you were feeling." Emily said honestly.

The two both didnt know how she knew that you probably don't either. Only someone in Emilys family knew how she knew that.

EmmaLee browsed the various books in the Library. She should probably get on to her homework, but she was a little more interested in what a wizard mystery story was like. She and her friends in New York has gotten ahold of a large stack of muggle books, but it never occurred to them to ask their parents for wizard tales of mystery and whodunit.

She had put on a classic outfit for herself this morning. A navy blue dress with a billowy skirt and her hair done up halfway into two pony tails with navy blue bows. The rest of her white-blonde hair hug in loose, beachy curls down her back. She ran pale fingers idly over the book spines as she walked down the isle.

A large, silver cat trailed behind her, never one to stray to far from her girl. EmmaLee was glad that she could keep Minx with her as much as she wanted at this school. The cat was her constant companion at home and she was more than happy to remain her constant companion at school.

As she and her cat turned the corner of a bookshelf, she saw three other students chatting. They looked to be making introductions. "Ils ont l'air amicaux. Que diriez-vous d'une conversation, Minx?" They seem friendly. What do you think about a chat, Minx? She said, looking down at the animal. Minx gave a disinterested "mer" in response, but would follow EmmaLee into any venture. EmmaLee chuckled, both at the response and her silliness in talking to her cat, and walked over to the group.

"Hallo." She said with a small wave. "My name is EmmaLee.. uh LeDames. What are your names?" She asked, putting her hands in the pockets of her dress in a sudden bout of nervousness. Maybe she shouldn't have been so bold as to just walk up to these students. What if they just ignored her? Minx rubbed her head against EmmaLee's leg in comfort, sensing her owner's nervousness.

Emily had a feeling she knew how she was able to know what ones thinking. But she wasn't sure. She knew that one of her siblings knew but she didn't know which one. She knew that it only started when Hideaki moved in seven years ago.

Emily saw Hideaki go back to reading his book since no one else was talking. While reading Emily had a feeling that he was thinking about the same thing she was thinking about. The two normal think a like as if they share a brain cell together. But it may be possible that the two aren't thinking the same thing.

Emily wanted to get up to get a book but she had no idea what to read. Emily then heard French and she thought it was weird. She doesn't understand French but she did know that all sorts of people come to Hogwarts.

She then looked behind her and saw a girl that might be in Hufflepuff at a book shelf. She saw that she had a pet cat. She noticed that her pet cat was silver but the cat was still cute. She then turned back to get cousin and wondered if the French girl was going to come over to them.

When she heard the girl introduce herself she saw Hideaki look up. She then heard him say,

"Hello, EmmaLee. I'm Hideaki Hio, but you can call me Hide. Your French? Right?"

Emily face plamed when Hideaki asked if she was French but she didn't say anything about it. She then said,

"Hello, EmmaLee. I'm Emily Flower Hide's cousin. May I call you Emma?"

The two cousins then heard Lily speak and she answered there question. Emily nodded then Hideaki said,

"That makes sense. Even though I'm a Slytherin, I don't think I've seen you before, Lily."

EmmaLee covered her mouth with a dainty hand and giggled a little at Lily's floundering. "It is nice to meet you Lily, and no worries. I am a Hufflepuff as well, and I am French." She said with a quick turn to Hideaki to acknowledge his question. "It is a great house full of very friendly and helpful people. Although I don't know if I have met anyone named Laura yet. I haven't had much interactions with the upper classes except for a boy named George at the sorting feast. I do like your badger sweater. It is very cute. Is your sister running around with a green snake sweater?" She said with a wide smile, clasping her hands behind her back and trying not to bounce on her toes in excitement at meeting some more friendly students.

She had no real experience with the various prejudices or differences between each house and she was growing glad that she could take every person at face value, rather than worry about if they were in the "wrong" house as some others seemed to feel.

She turned to answer Emily's question, still smiling, and waved her hand a little in dismissal. "Please don't." EmmaLee said. "You can call me E, though, to make our similar names less confusing. It is nice to meet all of you." EmmaLee disliked it very much when people tried to half her name like that, although she didn't take it personally.

Minx let out an indignant "raor" as if to draw attention to her presence. Well, definitely to draw attention to her presence. EmmaLee laughed again and leaned down a little to pet her cat. "And this is Minx, my favorite animal friend."

Emily and Hideaki both saw that EmmaLee covered her mouth. Emily heard her laugh but she was sure that Hideaki didn't. Emily then saw her cousin go back to his book. When she heard EmmaLee speak, Emily noticed that she was answering Lily's question.

She then saw her look at her cousin. Emily reached and took Hidekai's book causing him to look up. He then heard EmmaLee speak. Once she answered his question, Hideaki said,

"I don't really understand most people in Hufflepuff. Em has a friend in Hufflepuff. I don't yet. I only have Em and she's a Gryffindor. Now that I realize it, I can hear the French accent."

While Hideaki spoke, Emily read the book with interest. While reading there was a long silence. The silence stopped when EmmaLee spoke again addressing Emily's question. Emily handed the book back to Hideaki then said,

"Oh, OK. Then you can call me Em or Emmy. Or you can just call me Emily. Also, for Hide call him either Hideaki or Hide."

Emily saw Hideaki look at her when she said his name. She smiled at him and saw that he smiled back. The two then heard a noise and looked at Minx. Emily was gonna say something, but Hideaki beat her to it by saying,

"Aw! Minx is very cute! Wow, you must have a lot of animal friends then if Minxs is your favorite. Em and I are thinking about getting a black cat."

After Hideaki finished speaking, Emily saw that he went back to reading his book. Emily decided to read it to, but upsidedown. Once she heard Lily speak she looked up but noticed that Hideaki was still reading. But she knew that he was listening.

Emily nor Hideaki had anything to say to Lily so they both stayed quiet. Emily didn't like staying quite when she's meeting new people. She just hopped that Lily would say something that'll work for either Emily or Hideaki.

Once Lily stopped speaking, Emily saw Hideaki look up. He then closed his book and thought about what to say. Then he sad,

"I feel like your sister didnt want you in Slytherin. I feel like she wants you in Hufflepuff as if its the right house for you. But adding on to what I said earlier, I really wanted Em in Slytherin."

Emily smiled at what her cousin said about her. She wanted to say something else but then Lily spoke again. She asked a very interesting question, so Emily decided to answer it,

"I expected myself to be in Slytherin cause of the rest of my family but I got sorted into Gryffindor. I don't know what but I think the sorting hat thought I was better for Gryffindor than a Slytherin."

"For me, I felt like I'd be a Ravenclaw cause of my personality, but I got Slytherin. I'm pretty sure the sorting hat wanted me to not be in the same house as Emily, so thats why he put me in Slytherin." Hideaki said.

Emily saw that Hideaki finally finished his book. She then saw him close it and pass it to her. Emily was about to open it when she heard Lily speak. She knew that she was talking to Hideaki but when she stopped speaking Hideaki looked confused. She then heard Lily repeat herself which made a lot more sense. Then Emily heard Hideaki say,

"So, technically your sister was like me when I wanted Em and I in the same house. To be honest Em and I thought about being in either Slytherin, Gryffindor, or Ravenclaw cause we have the exact same personality."

When Hideaki stopped speaking, Emily knew that he wanted her to add on. So she pieced what Hideaki said, then thought about what to say, then she finally said,

"What Hide said is true. Since we both have the exact same personality, we thought we were gonna be placed in the same house. But sadly the sorting hat sorted me first into Gryffindor then Hideaki into Slytherin making us be separated for five more years until we get to go home during the breaks."

After Emily spoke Lily spoke again, so the two cousins listened then laughed slightly when she was finished. Emily then said,

"Thats kinda funny cause if both you and Hideaki were sorted into Ravenclaw then I won't be helping Hide with his homework all the time."

Emily saw Hideaki glare at her. She then heard him say, "Hey! Its not really my fault. I kinda forgot everything we were taught at home."

After being properly introduced, Minx curled up on EmmaLee's feet and quickly fell asleep, or at least she was pretending to sleep. It was hard to tell. Moreover, she was comfortable. EmmaLee nodded to Lily, giving her permission to call her "E" as well and shrugged when the topic of houses came up.

"I don't think that the sorting hat has any real opinions on who gets put in what house. It probably doesn't even know that you two are related. It just sees what is in the mind of the current person who is wearing it." EmmaLee said when Hideaki expressed his idea that it intentionally put them in different houses. "Maybe you both showed traits of both houses, and one of you leaned more Gryffindor and the other leaned more Slytherin. Maybe you are more different than you thought."

Then she turned to Lily to answer her question further. "None of my parents went to Hogwarts or really know a whole lot about Hogwarts, so I didn't really have a lot of preconceptions going into the sorting. I did read Hogwarts: A History before I got here, but the descriptions were very to the point about the traits of each house. Once I got here, everyone seems to have a distinct opinion about the merits of each house." She explained. She honestly thought it was a little ridiculous how disappointed people got when they were not sorted into the right house. To her, it seemed like every house was a good house to be placed in, but maybe she was missing something cultural here. "I did think that I might be sorted into Ravenclaw because of the wit and learning bit, but I am equally happy to be in Hufflepuff, especially considering how welcoming a nice everyone there has been."

Emily giggled lightly when she heard what Hideaki said. She then saw that Minx was sleeping. But she had a feeling that Minx wasnt sleeping but she didn't say anything about it. When Emily heard EmmaLee speak she noticed that she was addressing what Hideaki said. She also noticed that what EmmaLee said made some sense but she knew she was leaning more to Slytherin than to Gryffindor.

Once EmmaLee stopped talking, Emily was going to say something, but she didn't know what to say. After she finished thinking about what to say, she heard Hideaki say,

"What you said might be true. But it also might not be. I was sure leaning for Ravenclaw I don't really know about Em tho. Also, when I put on the sorting hat he said, 'Ah, your a Hio. The last time I sorted a Hio was your father and your mother. Young Hideaki, I don't think you'll be in the same house as your cousin Emily. Gryffindor won't suite you. Not Hufflepuff either. Perhaps Ravenclaw? Wait, I see a dark side of you. I'll put you in Slytherin.' so, the sorting hat did know we are related."

Emily knew about what the sorting hat said to Hideaki and Hideaki knew what to sorting hat said to Emily. But she wasnt ready to tell EmmaLee or Lily yet. Emily then saw that EmmaLee addressed Lily's question, so the two went quite. After she finished they heard her add on to what she said. After she finished Emily then said,

"Ah, I see. You would've made a great Ravenclaw since you seem to be smart. Sorry if that offended you. I'm glad you like your house. I'm still getting used to mine."
