Alisa Amiella - First Year - Gryffindor

Alisa was born in Blaydon, England. During her younger age, Alisa was a curious and outgoing child who smiled all the time. Being quite oblivious to how dangerous her surrounding was, Alisa’s mother Sabrina Amiella, often teaches Alisa places to hide around the house by playing a game of hide and seek. At the age of eight, Alisa witnessed the murder of both her parents by a stranger who invaded their home.

It was a regular day like every other. Alisa was sitting at the kitchen table, watching her mother cook dinner, while waiting for her father to come home. Alisa did not hear the door unlock or the sound of her father announcing he has returned from work. Instead, it was a loud crashing sound of struggle and the door being burst open that Alisa had heard. Before Alisa got off the chair, her mother rushed to the doorway leading into the hall. A second later, Alisa’s mother came running towards her. She told Alisa her father is going to play hide and seek with them and the sounds were made by him getting ready to start. Excited that her father is going to play with her, Alisa quickly hid herself in the cupboard under the kitchen sink. As Alisa adjusted herself to fit in the cupboard, her mother was opening the window above the sink. As the sound in the hallway begins to fade, Alisa’s mother quickly turn to Alisa, whispering to stay where she is and to never come out. Her mother shut the cupboard doors then shouted for Alisa to quickly get out through the window. From the thin crevice in between the cupboard doors, Alisa saw a stranger storm in to the kitchen and went to where her mother is. She saw the man held her mother with one hand, while thrust a shiny object in her mother’s abdomen. The man dropped Alisa’s mother a few moments later and was now standing in front of the cupboard doors, blocking her view. Confused and extremely frightened, Alisa closed her eyes, held her breath, and wished the stranger would leave already. Alisa heard the man turn away from the cupboard door, but was too scared to peek out anymore. Sounds from the man’s heavy foot steps, things being thrown, and rummaging was all Alisa could hear. After what felt like an eternity, even though it was just a few minutes, all the sounds disappeared. Alisa thought she had gone deaf from all the loud noises. It was thirty minutes later did she finally realized the man had left.

Although Alisa’s mother warned her not to ever come out, Alisa wanted to see if her mother was ok. Alisa slowly crawled out of the cupboards only to see her mother laying in a pool of ted liquid, on the floor three feet from her. Alisa wanted to call for her mother, however, no sounds came out. After trying to wake her mother by shaking to no avail, Alisa went to look for her father to help wake her mother up. However, when Alisa entered the hallway, all she saw was a disfigured body of what was once her father. Shocked by the scene, Alisa’s mental self defense mechanism kicked in as she stood in the middle of the hallway, staring at the thing that she no longer recognize. The loud noises and sirens from outside the front door startled Alisa. Like an frightened animal, the only thing in Alisa’s mind was to run away. She ran back into the kitchen noticing yet another body she did not know, saw the open window, climb on top of the sink, then jumped out into the alley way. She took off running deeper into the alley way without looking back. Alisa roamed the streets, ducking and hiding in tiny spaces only she could get into whenever she hears someone passing by.

It was a year later did a police officer found her in a small alley way in a corner of the slums. The officer happened to be on the Amiella’s case and looking for their lost daughter in a family they found at the crime scene. He recognized Alisa and made great effort to chase her down through many tiny alley ways. After finally herding her to his colleagues, Alisa was finally brought to safety. Unfortunately, when the officers provided Alisa with the family photo, she did not recognize anyone in the photo including herself. According to the neighbors who knew of Alisa, the officer heard she was a bright and cheerful child. Saddened by how Alisa’s personality had completely changed, along with the lost of her memories and the ability to speak properly, the police officer persuaded her to follow him to a children’s home.

Alisa had always been bullied by most other children in the children’s home for not being able to speak properly. While the only other girl in the children’s home just makes fun of her, the four boys were more physical with Alisa. Often throwing things at her, hiding her belongings, or blaming their mistakes on Alisa. After her only friend was taken to a foster home, Alisa had no friends left to care for her.

It was on a hot summer day, just like every other day, the boys were hurting Alisa again. Just as one of the boys threw a rock at Alisa’s face, a flock of birds flew in from one of the opened windows, scaring the boys to trip over each other. Some of the birds begins to fly in circles around Alisa, while most of the birds starting pecking and clawing at the boys. It was not until the shocked Alisa wished for the birds to stop did the attack end. When one of the birds landed on her shoulders and snuggled against her cheeks, Alisa caught a glimpse of their thought. The boys were attacked because of her magic going out of control.
