As it closed in on the night, many of the Horntails would slowly creep back into the now-familiar tent. It had been an excellent summer, full of violence and adrenaline. There had been pranks and there had been rivalries, but it was all in good fun. Competitions like the Hexwizard Tournament were only what you made of them, and Yefim was determined to make it epic. Soon the world was going to get to see the might of a god and his followers on display, that was exciting enough that even he was looking forward to seeing what he would do. Every night would ease into a warm comfort-- every dragon in that den knew that they were the chosen ones, that they had nothing to fear, and only glory ahead of them.
This afternoon however was abruptly shaken by the return of their littlest member, the cherubic Valkyrie Gresha. To the tent comprised mostly of brutish, intimidating young boys and one muscular clown, Gresha had been adopted in organically. They had been teammates, then friends, then family. Life was often difficult, and Yefim had found comfort in sticking tightly to his group, to those who he knew to be just and brave. Her distraught appearance and the following explanation of a distressing interaction would garner the attention of the few already inside. Yefim himself would put down the weights he was lifting and walk over to ask her questions.
She had her night ruined, a boy had insulted her, threatened her, and made himself a nuisance. She was clearly in a bad way, a way that made Yefim's blood boil. Whoever thought it was in their best interest to disrespect a member of his family, let alone the impeachably kindhearted fishlet, had a difficult lesson headed their way. And not soon, but now. Yefim would ask for the boy's description and tent, getting enough information to make a positive identification. Pointing at the two biggest boys in his close vicinity, Romeo and Charlie, and then get Valya's attention as well to pull him away from Gresha's side to accompany them on their mission.
The goal was simple: make him regret it. Give him an example of what kind of box he was opening by not lying down and submitting to their superiority. Revenge could be tricky, especially when dealing with scumbags who enjoyed the attention, but Yefim was practiced in the art. He wouldn't linger, he wouldn't soliloquize, and he wouldn't give him the satisfaction of a black eye. Not this time. This was the consequences of his actions, the swift hammer of justice as dealt by the heavy arm of the king, like a fly being swat. The opportunity to put someone in their place was perhaps a bit more enjoyable of a prospect than it ought to have been, but he had learned to enjoy the heart throbbing moments just before a conflict.
Once the pipsqueak was spotted, Yefim would point at him. [”There. Grab him.”] These words would be to the towers on either side of him, Yefim being one of the more average-sized young men, the top of his head only reaching their eye level. [”Hold him still while I pilfer his wand.”]
As they acquiesced*, Yefim would pay no attention to anything the boy called Ed had to say, instead searching his pockets in the most obvious spots for wands. This wasn't his first rodeo, he wouldn't need to fish for long to find the stick. Pulling it out with a broad smile, he would wag it in front of the victim's face. ”You threaten a Horntail. You lose.”
Saying that, Yefim would hand the wand over to Valya, the boy for whom speed was his life and wind was his song. [”Put it somewhere far away. Somewhere funny.”]
This would of course be a lot all at once, but that was what blitzkrieg was supposed to be. If he expected any less, that was his own problem, not Yefim's.

@Aida Mòrsgor-Ama Ellwood @Evelynn Decipio @Piérre Marchonné @Flash HolmwoodThe Russian third year was lying in his bed when he was grabbed, and his wand was taken. "HEY WHAT THE HELL? GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF ME! YOU'LL HEAR FROM HIM! YOU'LL DIE IF YOU- NO! GIVE ME BACK MY WAND! MY WAND! GIVE IT BACK!" The boy yelled in Russian, each word being said with as much snarl as he could boulster, while at the same time, whining.
He would swear that the kids that attacked him would get the Edward Revenge, something Edward could do well enough, but lacking skills.
"Wait- what's a- no. NO. YOU AREN'T DURMSTRANG ARE YOU?" Edward gulped, realizing the predicatment he got himself into. As if being full body binded wasn't enough, he had to lose his most prized possession, his wand.
"SOMEWHERE FUNNY? WHAT THE HELL IDIOT?" Eddy yelled, trying to move as much as he could as an attempt to break free from the hold.
After all, his hero did say "I want to break free."
"GIVE ME BACK MY WAND! IF THIS IS OVER THAT GIRL FROM EARLIER, I WILL NOT APOLOGIZE. I MEANT WHAT I SAID! IT'S END GAME FOR DURMSTRANG. KOLDOVSTORETZ DESERVES THE CROWN, AND I WILL PERSONALLY GIVE IT TO THEM."

Will add more Greta details as desired on next post.

Valentin was the first to run to Greta’s side to hear her story, but even after listening closely he still couldn’t understand how anyone could give their admirable, adorable fishlet death threats. Greta was the most honest, meekest, most self-deprecating, silliest, and most respectful of all the Horntails. How Val’s ex-team mate, Edward Smith of Koldovstoretz, could be the perpetrator was even further beyond Valentin. After all, Edward had made good on supporting their quidditch team, Yilbegän, regardless of their school rivalry-- but perhaps Valentin had no real understanding of the boy’s character after all. Squeezing Greta as he tried to console her, Valentin wracked his brain. Was it all a misunderstanding? If this was serious, Valentin would have to go to any lengths necessary to ensure Edward could never get a shot at her. After all, it only took a moment’s weakness to lose Valya’s mother to murder. If this threat was real… Greta deserved a permanent solution. Yefim indicated for Val to come, but the champion had to pull him off of Greta’s side before heading out the door.
Romeo, Charles, and Yefim were the three strongest people Val knew in all of Durmstrang besides their #11 beater, Arjan. Hell, if things really went south, maybe even Arjan would back up Greta, since they used to be team mates too. Either way, Valentin decided their group would be strong enough to handle Edward so long as he didn’t bring several times more allies… and with a personality like Edward showed Greta, Val would be surprised if Edward could even martial a single strong ally.
Keen-eyed Valentin was the first to spot Edward. It was Val’s other job to be the eyes of the team, foreseeing not only their best strategic entry but also the environment around the physical confrontation to come. Nothing nearby seemed to pose a threat to their complete dominance over this one, small kid, and Valentin nodded to Yefim to proceed. Once the two towers of muscle pinned Edward at each side, Yefim pilfered the boy’s wand with ease.
[”Put it somewhere far away. Somewhere funny.”]
Before Yefim could finish his sentence, Valentin already took the wand into his long-fingered, dexterous grip. He could read Yefim’s intentions fast after all their years of fighting side-by-side. Besides, theft was Niffler’s game… and Val made sure to be very good at his chosen games.
Stepping out of range of Edward, Valentin put the stick up to his nose and sniffed. No, nothing impressive about it, concluded Niffler. Yet, he knew he was no expert on wands, even after all he had learned in trying to find one not doomed to conflict with his unusual personality.
“What do you make of this?” Valentin asked Romeo, holding up Edward’s wand for the beater to see-- still well out of range of Edward. After hearing the Italian’s appraisal, Valentin would sniff again. “Well, it’s not his if he can’t catch me.” Valentin stowed the wand in his special pocket, charmed specifically to not allow anything to fall out nor be stolen by another’s hand. Now, if things went south, he could lunge over obstacles without endangering the mission… but Val didn’t have to go just yet-- not when there was still information to gain. Stepping forward, Valentin’s burning clematis gaze scoured down into the depths of Edward’s eyes.
“Why did you threaten Greta’s life?” asked Valentin, smooth face as unreadable as marble.

@Noah Jupe, @Aida Mórsgor-Ama Ellwood, @Henry Knight & @Flash HolmwoodIt was almost time for the Horntail Horde to pack up and make for the reaches of the north once more. In that regard, I had starting packing for Durmstrang's eventual departure just yesterday, having had more than my fill of summer festivities for the next few months.
A part of me wanted to locate my twin before we left, to talk to him about new developments and maybe congratulate him on his first time ever duelling. Even if he hadn't done well... At least he was doing something with himself and keeping his mind active as opposed to just... Sulking. Someone with as much creativity as him had a lot to risk from sulking or being bored. It made them restless and antsy, more and more problematic the longer that they had no outlet to express through.
Greta burst into the tent in a state of pure despondency, causing me to turn away from my half-hearted packing just as much as the rest of the tent did. Nobody ever made Greta upset, let alone sent her into a state in which she was reduced to tears or depressions. It was just something that nobody did. Nobody who knew what was good for them, anyways.
Nobody who didn't have a death wish.
Valetin was at her side like a bumblebee on a blossom, and though I knew that our Valkyrie would soon collect herself and carry on as the most glorious Greta that we knew her to be (sunshine and joy as she was to all of us), I stand nearby the bunks, folding my arms as my brow furrows at her bits and pieces of explanation for her state. The longer I listened, the more my blood boiled. Someone had had the audacity to threaten Dolcezza with pain of death? Over a childish GAME?
This is why I didn't partake in very many of the foolish events of the summer camp. Too many children and not enough people who were intelligent enough to stop acting like children for more than minutes at a time. Now somebody was daring to threaten Dolcezza, who was under the guard of the entire Horntail Horde, and thinking that they could get away with it. Well, whoever had once thought that was about to have another thought coming. As soon as Giove called for both Abbaglio and I, I fixed him with a cold glare, rage sparking in cerulean.
I didn't need to be told twice. Whoever did this was going to pay for their infringement upon the family of the Horde, and especially for the threats leveled upon dearest Greta.
"Just tell me which one." I growl, rolling up my sleeves and using my teeth to rip off the fingerless black glove on my right hand as I storm out after Yef. "C'mon Val. We have work to do."¤ | Ω | ¤Ah. There he was. A familiar face. Very familiar, actually. Edward Smith, the first string Beater from Koldovstorez. One of the foreigners that Val and I had had to work together to orchestrate so that our own, more prominent team, had been able to gel with their smaller, more nuanced, group. Their team was a product of misfortune, the terrorist attack by SCAR just last year, and it was painfully clear that they were still trying to rise for their ashes of ruin.
For the time being, though... They had been our allies.
That alliance was over.
Edward Smith had made a dangerously stupid mistake. A fatal error.
He had decided to disregard our tentative alliance and try to backstab us. Unfortunately, I do not take well to turncoats.
Even before Yefim's order was issued, I snatch his right hand with my left, suspecting his right to be his dominant hand due to statistic probability. Twisting his arm backwards and behind his back, my right hand closes on his wrist as my left flutters from its former grasp on his wrist to his right shoulder, ready to dislocate it if he makes even the slightest move that I feel threatening. He starts and writhes in complaint, and I hiss into his ear. "Keep making a bloody fuss and I'll give you something to really cry about. You fucked up and with the wrong people, kid. You really, really fucked up."
God, the howling of the kid, the obnoxiousness of it... My mind begins to crackle with thoughts even as my right hand alternately tightens and loosens its grip, quivering with rage.
'Rompigli il braccio. Lasciagli avere un assaggio di quello che puoi fare. Break his arm. Let him have a taste of what you can do.' A soft musing in my own voice asserts itself quietly in my subconscious. Stoic, affirmative.
'No. That is wrong. I don't need to maim him to let him know who is in control.' I lash back, my eyes flicking back and forth subtly, as if reading a book. Reading my thoughts.
'Non si tratta di controllo. Si tratta di Gretcezza, vero? This isn't about control. This is about Gretcezza, yes?' It asked curiously, a small lilt at the end betraying a childish intrigue. 'Fagli sapere cosa provava. Una rappresentazione fisica, emotiva, mentale di esso. Un braccio è un piccolo prezzo da pagare per una lezione del genere. Make him know what she felt. A physical, emotional, mental depiction of it. An arm is a small price to pay for such a lesson.'
I steel my stature, focusing on the present situation and trying my best to ignore the rising hum of agreeing voices in the chorus. The squealing in my ears raises to a high pitched whine, louder than it usually is. Loud as when lightning struck. Loud enough to drown my thoughts in the buzzing of the mind electric.
'Rompigli. Il. Braccio. Break. His. Arm.'
"What do you make of this?"
Valetin's voice. He holds a length of wood away from me, and I tear myself from the mental tug of war with myself to ground myself in what it is that I'm actually a part of. Blinking once or twice, I squint at it in the light of the tent, looking it up and down. I jut my chin at it a bit. "Turn it a bit... Yeah. There we go."
The chorus slowly fades back to a buzz, the ringing having quieted down to a manageable humming in both ears as I focus on the length of dark umber wood. The grain is peculiar, and the color narrows it a bit... But..."If I had to guess by sight alone... Mayflower, rose or hawthorn." That group of genus can be close together sometimes. "This sounds strange, but smell it. Pick up a vanilla-like or almond-like whiff with a dash of spice or a foul smell like a corpse? Probably hawthorn if it is. Likely the remnant of its flowers' oils or pollen in the grain." I continue to hold Eddie down as I appraise the wand. "Fourteen inches, looks like... And whippy. Wish there was some way for me to see the core. You don't suppose if I bent it a bit or weighed it that I could figure it out without have to break it...?" The last bit is an audible musing, and I smile a bit as Val tucks the length of wood away. Maybe I would get to study it yet. "Hawthorn's a rough, unrelenting wood, but a bit iffy on consistency. Gets on well with owners who prove themselves talented with magic. Can cast both curses and healing spells with ease, though its backfires can be... Well, odd."
I couldn't see Val with that wand, even as much as I wanted to see him try it out.
My attention is drawn back to the complaints of Eddie, though, and I round on him with venom. "You're right. Durmstrang 'Ends Games'. And it's game over for you, kiddo. That 'girl' you so insensitively push off? That's Greta Fransson, a member of the Horntail Horde. Now, hear me, and hear me well, punk." I bare my teeth at him, looking right into his eyes with all the menace I can muster, tightening my grip on both his wrist and his shoulder until bones begin to shift ever so slightly in the wrist. "Greta is under our protection. We are under each other's protection. You fucked with one of us, you brought the Horde on yourself. This is Durmstrang's year. You are not going to stand in our way. I absu-fucking-promise you."
Loosen the grip again. Be Mr. Nice Guy. "Push us again, and I doubt that the next confrontation of this sort will be as kind. Am I speaking clear enough Russian for you?"Stats:

How could one feel both, at the top of the world and breaking at the pressure?
Charles separated from Ronnie late that night, still with a smile, kicking the dirt and punching the air. Not fully believing what happened after that spin the bottle... smiling, the teen felt his legs pick up speed. Running through the campgrounds, smiling and yelling to the tent tops. He felt immortal.
Coming to a halt, arms spread out wide, the teen shouted into the air, "I'm the king of the world!" Laughing, kicking at the strands of grass. Charles set his arms on his head, smiling pushing back his hair as he looked up towsrd the sky.Walking into the tent, casting nods to the others as he took the path to his bunk when suddenly he came to a halt... Greta? Upset? Sliding toward her, listening suddenly the lightness he felt faded in a moment with the tightening of his chest and burning from within. Cracking his knuckles. No one could actually think they can hurt or threatened the girl and live to tell the tale, did they?
The blonde didn't completely trust Yefim yet, not an follower of him unlike the others. He preferred to keep to himself than engage in their games but he wouldn't pass the opportunity to strike revenge on the bloke who threatened the Horntails little sister.
Going with the three, apporching a tent. At Yefim's command, Charles jumped. Grabbing hold and pining him to his place with Romeo, quite an easy feat for the two seeing how strong they are.
When Valentin held his wand, Charles spoke"hit it well, Frost. Wands are only for true wizards and the pipsqeak is far from that, sure he isn't an squib?" The two then discussed the wand's making, the words dulled the blonde who wanted to smash his head and break his bones. Rage fueled him. Anxiety burned his veins. The energy of the two combining, exploding caused him to hold Edward tighter and jumped on the balls of his feet.
The kid wouldn't just quiet down, uh. Charles took heed to Nifler's question then to Romeo's words before speaking"shut the thing up already, giving me a headache from all of his whining." The blonde held him tighter, imagining breaking his arm as he spoke"if any of us meet you on the bloody quidditch pitch again, opponent or not, expect to be bashed in the head with every quaffle and person we can throw at you. Your pathetic kid, shame Rosella has to attend a school with landrats like you." The words streamed out, wanting to bloody him up but waiting for Yefim's command.
"If you ever fucking talk or even look at Greta again then you'll have every bone in your shattered, that isn't a threat but a promise," Charles snapped, the Koldovstoretz already threated their little sister so all that laid left was to teach him why he should keep his distance from her for the rest of his days. No matter how short they seem to Charles.
The blonde held Edward down, eyes flashed to Yefim, he had to admit of his loyalty to the team. First one to jump to action upon hearing the words from Greta. The blonde admired that, a tad as he spoke"what do you reckon we should do with him, Cap?" The first time referring to Yefim as captain.

Valentin watched Romeo and Charles pin Eddie helplessly at each side. Their angles, their faces, their voices told Val that they both longed to break the boy’s body down. Val’s eyes lingered particularly long on the jutting of the Italian’s shoulder; it telegraphed Romeo’s movements the fastest from Val’s position in front of the kid. While a smile spread across Valentin’s face, luxuriating in Romeo’s words, he wondered why he shouldn’t have as nice of a night as Greta had been having– and in the face of death threats, at that. All Val’s little consolations of the Valkyrie had been confused by how her main grievance seemed to be how Edward’s belligerence got in the way of her good time. Had she simply been trying to cope by burying concern for how Edward might try to end her life forever? Even if Greta was starry-eyed about something tonight despite the danger, Valentin had to take the situation seriously for her. After all, if Valik had done so for his mother, she wouldn’t be dead now. He wouldn’t let the responsibility slip from his shoulders, not again.
As Romeo’s hand tightened and loosened its grip in alternating pattern on Edward, Val let Rome’s palpable rage wash through him, too. Valentin wanted to feel it all, unrestrained. The Italian’s cerulean eyes flicked back and forth, as if in conflict– “should I do it? Should I do it?” It was such a beautiful night, thought Val. Would it hurt to enjoy myself, too? Even Charles seemed to have been on top of the world earlier tonight. When would Valya allow himself pleasures, if not on such a night? For one, he could give in to the bloodlust. It would be so simple. So delicious. Why should Val deny the beast inside him when, like that time with the Norwegian, it could prove an effective deterrent to future conflict? He didn’t even have to use magic to enjoy himself here, not surrounded by mountains of muscle as he was. Couldn’t Edward be a justifiable target for Val’s catharsis, after Val had already denied himself so many?
White Valya looked back at Romeo, wanting catharsis for him as well. Wasn’t it good, what they did in the sparring room that day? With a smirk, the pleasant memory uncovered Valya’s sense of humor again. Perhaps I don’t wish to share you with this turncoat right now, minem zhankisyagem. Light filled Valya’s widening eyes again. There were other ways for Rome to find his peace, on nights when it could be all about him. Tonight was about Greta. The frost captain needed to bring clearheaded sight back into the situation. This was not the time for his demons, either– not when they needed to choose the right way to protect Greta thoroughly without causing undue blowback.
“What do you make of this?” asked Val of Rome about Edward’s wand, pulling Romeo back towards a topic Val knew would be pleasant on some level, even now. Just listening to him come back down from his rage to assess the stick was enough to calm Valentin, too.
"What do you reckon we should do with him, Cap?" came Charles’s voice. Yet, the Brit wasn’t talking to Valentin. Charles wasn’t even looking at him. No, this was the first time Val ever heard Charles refer to Yefim by that name instead of him, his old Frost Kapitän. Should I be jealous? Have I stopped being worthy of the title? he wondered. Taking a breath, Valik’s answer ricocheted back immediately: Would it help the team if I grew jealous now? Could I channel it to some advantage for us?… No, of course not. We control this Koldov boy right now. Clenching his white hand around the ring on his middle finger, Valentin’s eyes narrowed. … and I don’t think we need to kill him to have a permanent solution.
Valentin sighed. Yefim may have been the champion, but he and Mik and Val were beyond the sphere of leader and subordinate, right? There was no “top” part of a circle. The reason Val took the ring in the first place was because he believed he could be loyal to Yefim while still being himself. Val didn’t need to look behind him. Val knew Yefim well enough to know.
Leaning down towards the Koldov, Val’s face stopped only inches away from Edward’s. Valentin extended one arm to either side and rested his left hand on his chaser, and his right lightning-scarred palm on his beater. Squeezing the boys’ shoulders as the two held Edward fast, Valentin nodded as if to thank them for doing such fine work.
“Edward, I am grateful for what you did for us in the stadium. I’m sorry, but our alliance is now broken. Greta is our family, and we won’t let anyone hurt her without striking back 10,000 times harder. What you spilled were words, not blood, but if you ever approach her… before you even know what’s happening, I will strike you down without mercy.”
Slipping his hands off his team mates’ shoulders, Valentin took three steps back while holding his icy gaze fixed on Edward with their diamond-hard ultimatum.

A sudden storm seemed to come out of nowhere. The roiling heavens were more like hell on earth as flashes of light illuminated the terrible and dark sky. the sky was fine and clear, like a robin's egg until moments ago. Those who were bright ran for cover immediately as hail started to pelt down on the unsuspecting wizards. They should have fled also, or at the very least found themselves far from the high ground or anything that could conduct electricity.
The lightning strike was so close they would not even hear the crash until after they felt the pain surge through their bodies and propel each of them in the opposite direction of the others. Like opposing magnets, the boys would be launched away from what would be an ar4ea of blackened char on the ground. kind pedestrian wizards would drag their unmoving but thankfully still breathing bodies out of the hail and they would recover separately and go on their merry way.

@Aida Mòrsgor-Ama Ellwood @Evelynn Decipio @Piérre Marchonné @Flash HolmwoodSince his restraint- he had to watch Val taunt him with his own wand- before Val decided to drop it into her pocket. "SERIOUSLY? IS THIS OVER ME MAKING YOU MISS THAT GRAB ON THE FUCKING SNITCH?" Then it was mentioned about Greta. What was up with that girl anyways? These Durmstrang people are really weird. They pretty much restrained and bullied a person over a DEATH THREAT! "I regret NOTHING! You stay away from- wait- my wand- I need it- GIVE ME MY WAND. GIVE IT HERE! NOW! OR I WILL CALL THE AUTHORITIES! HELP! HELP! SOMEONE HELP! THEY STOLE MY WAND! DURMSTRANG STOLE MY-"
Edward paused, a boy he refused to even look at- insulted Rosella- one of his treasured teammates and schoolyard friend. He loved Rosella, @Logan Baird even had a crush on her. And he now felt angrier, but when Koldov is hurt, for a small school- is it worth hurting someone he loved? No. But he needed to fight for what was right- and what he thought was right- was Durmstrang crashing and burning. It is the end for such a legendary school, time to let the small school finally gain a spotlight- for good purposes and not a nefarious mean- like losing more than one Koldovstorian to an explosion in Hogsmeade the previous year.
And Val spoke again. "GOOD! That's exactly what I wanted! The alliance needed to be broken! It was miserable staying around you Dumbstrang folks." He threw out, making loud groaning noises, and trying to prove he was acknoledging of the painful strike he struck onto Koldovstoretz- hell- the alliance could've possibly been helpful for the Hexwizard Tournament he was attending- but he had a feeling he probably would've lost Ilivermony's alliance- if Theo Opeila Winters was anything like the group he was staring face to face with right now.

Yefim would watch the boy struggle to get out of the muscular arms of the dragons to no avail. He squeaked and squirmed, saying nothing that would earn him any mercy. Which was just as well, because no mercy existed for him to call upon. Niffy and Romeo would banter about the wand, but wandlore was not really Yefim's area of expertise. Once the group gave the Koldov student the meaning of this attack, and the threat of violence should he mess with any of the Horntails, the kid would buck further and continue to try to act tough. Yefim would just throw up his hands.
["Stop whining and save your energy. You only have two days to find it."] Yefim would still have little to say.
Having dealt with punks and naysayers all of his life, protests and tough talk wouldn't reach him. He knew for types like that, types like himself, that the most effect way to threaten was a demonstration. Yefim posed a real threat, and if this interaction didn't teach this kid that, then it was entirely his own fault if he decided to mess with them again. It wasn't Yefim's job to protect stupid people from themselves.
With that, Yefim would snap both fingers, then turn to leave. There was a huge storm brewing, which would make it even more difficult for the tiny Russian to locate his wand. Difficult and dangerous, that was what dealing with dragons was like.
Yefim leaves the thread

@Noah Jupe, @Aida Mórsgor-Ama Ellwood, @Henry Knight & @Flash HolmwoodDespite myself, I find a small sneer forming on my face as the kid complains more obnoxiously and begins to struggle a bit more against the unstoppable force that was my grip. I had already had enough for this summer. I just wanted to go back home, prepare for the Hexwizard tournament, work on my academics... I didn't have time for this.
"Not all of us wanted this ending to an alliance, Edward, even if it was destined to be short lived. Just know that your actions and our subsequent retaliation is an official declaration of war; a war that will be fought to the bitter end at that." I withhold the urge to squeeze down, to express physical distaste with the actions that had been performed by this child. He was, admittedly, still a child... but even a responsible adult had to let a belligerent child know when their actions have gone too far; had to let them know that there would be consequences for bad behavior that would ultimately affect them negatively when it came to the big world. I didn't care any longer about revenge. It was never about revenge.
It was a lesson. Like anything else in life, this was a lesson; a learning opportunity.
Yefim snaps once, and both he and Charlie leave with the sound of thunder on the horizon. Stribog is playing once more today. Fitting. I continue to hold Eddie down, waiting for the others to leave unhindered.
When the others finally clear out, I finally loose my hold on the kid, dusting off my hands and slipping the fingerless glove back onto my right hand. I flex my fingers once, glancing at him out of the corner of my eye with no amusement to ensure that he doesn't try anything tricky before speaking to him alone. "This wasn't a punishment, Eddie; I hope you realize that." I turn to face him entirely. "In fact, I hope this gets the fire boiling in your stomach, and forces your mind to quicken and analyze. You will need it for the Tournament, little wolf. Let that fire push you forward." A closed smile. "You want Durmstrang to fall? Show me that the pup can grow up to subjugate the Alpha. Be willing to gain and make scars, because the Alpha will not fall without a fight." My words end with a low rumble, my blue eyes searing his own. And with that, with a small nod to a former ally now enemy, I leave to follow Schnell and the rest into the incoming storm which causes my back and right arm to prickle with a teasing reminder of the sky's authority. "Until then, the wolf will look after the pups, and lead the pack when nobody else can."
I am no dog. I do not come when called unless I know they are worthy of the price that is my life.
I leave on my own terms.Romeo ExitsStats:
