Charles leaned in, eyes pressed tightly together, in his mind he was kissing Ronnie.... the boy who captured his mind. Who haunted his dreams and danced in his thoughts. Pulling away, eyes opened, the image of Peter Johnson laid in front of him. His voice, words as Charles looked Crossway at Ronnie. His eyes frozen to him, for what does he have to do to be able to kiss him during that game... just once.

Nodding, Charles would get up from his spot, eyeing turning to Peter Johnson (Percival) as he spoke"you weren't bad either, room for improvement but rather good," an head nod as the blonde would walk back to his spot. Where he would wait for the redhead with eyes glued to Ronnie... unable to pull away, his heart underneath his rub cage pounding in his ears, smiling a little till the sound of the bottle once more. Looking away, wondering if anyone caught him staring....

The blonde would nod to Haley as he spoke"did you share a kiss with the tall bloke? Move on from American and Ronnie?" His tone joking, smiling toward the girl, bits of laughter as he spoke"want to make a bet? Who will be paired next round?" An smile, the blonde dramatically offered Haley to spin first ending in a bit of laughter as he watched the bottle. Slightly wishing that the bottle didn't land on Ronnie... watching... the shimmer of the glass, reflecting the fire from the candles around.

At the point. Charles shallowed, it pointed at him... the teen felt his eyes dart between the bottle and Haley. It wasn't that he didn't like her, he loved Haley just not in the romantic way. Charles loved the girl in a sister way, seeing her as one so the thought of kissing her... even in a non romantic way didn't sit well within him. Eyes looked up at Ronnie, what would he think? Charles kissed the others but not Haley? That wouldn't seen to make sense in another’s mind... the other two were far from romantic so he could this non romantic kiss with someone he sees as a sister to impress the boy he likes, romantically.... right? Right...

The teen looked over at Haley, thoughts slipping, he couldn't bring himself to... the teen offered a soft smile to the girl as he spoke"your beautiful, Hales. Intelligent, amazing, powerful, and will go far but I can't kiss you. Your like a sister to me," an small nod, the teen would pat her shoulder then if she allowed would pulled her into a tight, life squeezing bear hug. If Haley accepted the hug, he would offer an cheek kiss in a brotherlike like manner and definitely not in a romantic one.

For a moment Ronnie gave Jack a minute or so to prepare for his hug. For the Portuguese boy, there was nothing big of a deal behind a simple hug. But it is just his opinion. For others that are not custom or so keen on physical touch, a simple hug from a stranger could make them feel uncomfortable.

Ronnie smile softly to encourage or perhaps Ronnie wanted to ease Jack a bit for what was to come. Once Jack was readied to be hugged by the Castelobruxo student. the blue-grey eyes boy engulfed him with a hug. A warm and almost brotherly-like hug. Soon once the hug was ended, Ronnie parted his way and returned to his seat.

Then the game continued on. Ronnie had lost count of how many rounds were already in. All he knows in this round, Charles is the one that took the initiative to spin the bottle first. The bottle spun and spun and spun. While the bottle is spinning, Ronnie unconsciously held his breath. Once the bottle stopped and it landed on Haley, Ronnie was curious about what Charles would do in that kind of situation.

After giving Haley a compliment, Charles then decided to give the redhead a brotherlike hug and a kiss on her cheek. Ronnie smiled at the display. So what he assumes throughout the summer is true. Both Charles and Haley share a sibling-like bond since Charles mentioned that Haley is like a sister to the blonde.

When the bottle stay doormat and nobody touch the bottle, at first Ronnie feel a bit hesitant to touch the bottle but as the old saying said the show must go on. And so the fourth year brave himself as he spun the bottle. Perhaps it was just how nervous he is or perhaps he did not know his own strength.

The bottle spun for quite a while until gradually and slowly came to a stop. As the game went on, the angst deep within the Portuguese boy grow. Ronnie then looked up to whom the bottle pointed. At that point, Ronnie is about to get up and leave the tent but he is determined to sit this through and finished the game.

Sooner or later he needs to kiss someone. He could not hide under a hug or perhaps a pat on the shoulder to blanket his inner nervousness. It was inevitable and it seems at this point it was the time to prove Ronnie was not just another pretty face in the group. Ronnie took a deep breath and stilled himself.

His heart beat erratically and thundered inside his ribcage but at least the one he will kiss was not bad on the eyes. After asking people who sat beside Evelynn to move a bit to the side, the dark-haired boy was seated beside the lioness. It's funny how the universe works sometimes. One minute he got jealous that Evelynn was kissing Charles.

And now he will be the one that kissed the Gryffindor girl. "Hello,"Greeted Ronnie to the other girl. Ronne then took a deep breath to still his inner tsunami-size of nervousness. Once he centered enough and less than a nervous wrecked, the blue-grey eyes boy face the Prefect. Ronnie then put his hand on the side of Evelynn's neck.

In theory, he knows how to kiss someone but he never applied it before. Nobody told him kissing someone could make him this nervous. Once Ronnie put his hand on the side of Evelynn's neck, he put his thumb against Evelynn's cheek. He rubs his thumbpad against the girl's cheek softly and slowly.

To be honest the thumbpad's caressing is more to ease his nervousness than the other girl. Evelynn seems to have no problem kissing others, unlike the Portuguese boy. "I am going to kiss you now,"The Castelobuxo Duellist said to Evelynn as his way to ask the other girl's consent. Once his inner nervousness and turmoil calms down a bit, he closed his eyes and leaned forward.

If Evelynn decided to kiss Ronnie, Ronnie would capture Evelynn's lips between his own. He will give the girl a chaste and soft kiss. But if Evelynn decided to not reciprocate Ronnie's kiss, a hug will do just fine.

Haley looked at the boy a little confused, just for a moment her eyebrows were drawn together and she wondered why it was she who had to make a decision? After all, it took two, didn't it? There wasn't much time to think about it or talk about it, because suddenly he was standing in front of her. Haley didn't say anything but just looked at him, her gaze slightly upwards as he was taller than her.

When he gently tucked her hair behind her ear, goosebumps spread over her body, but she tried not to let them show. It was the moment when, for a moment, she had hoped for a kiss. She finally got it, a kiss on the forehead. She closed her eyes for a moment at the gesture before turning back around and walking to her seat without another word.

One might think that Haley had fallen for the boy, but that was not it. It was the gestures, the touches. It was what she missed.

She sat back down next to Charles and tried to laugh. "It's not like we shared a kiss but I got one." She glanced briefly at Ronnie, "Certainly not. At least not from Ronnie, the American isn't really interested in me though." She remarked to his comment. "I bet I get paired with Ronnie." She laughed now, just to tease Charles a little.

Haley went quiet for a while after that, her thoughts circling around what she had been feeling. She hadn't been aware that she had missed those affections and caresses, but it had been nice. A little chaos reigned inside Haley, how did one deal with that? Realising you were missing something but couldn't have it? She had no control over it and couldn't just decide that she would fall in love again now and so would the other person and then everything would be fine. Her thoughts were pure nonsense and she tried to concentrate on the game again.

Just in time, because it was her turn to spin the bottle again. It spun and spun and not as she had hoped, it didn't land on Ronnie, but on Charles. Haley looked at the bottle, then at Charles and then back at the bottle. While she was confused one moment, the next she started laughing. She already guessed that Charles was brooding and she also guessed that he wasn't going to kiss her. She wouldn't hold it against him and she could understand why. "No worries!" she assured him with a soft smile before leaning forward, taking him in a tight hug and giving him a kiss on the cheek as well. Not in a romantic way, but between two good friends. Between brother and sister.

The older girl stood and kissed Olive, and Olive quickly kissed her back before they broke apart. The kiss hadn’t been emotional, but it was good enough for the game. She smiled back at the girl and went back to take her place across the circle again.

This time, she would finally get a turn to actually spin the bottle instead of just being the one it landed on. She took the bottle in hand and spun it in the middle of the circle. It spun around the entire circle a couple times, before it finally came to rest on a boy whom Olive was unfamiliar with. However, she was fairly sure, at least, that he was from Hogwarts.

Crossing to where he was in the group she raised her eyebrows slightly, almost daring him to get up and more importantly, showing that she would not be going down to his level. She hadn’t missed how in the last round he had been inconsiderably rude to the boy he had been kissing. While she didn’t exactly know that boy either, she didn’t like seeing people be rude to others.

If he were to stand, Olive would wait for him to tell her what he wanted to do, whether it be a kiss, hug, or whatever else there was in this game. There was no telling whether or not she would agree with him, but at least she was giving him the choice.

Percival didn't take much bother of what the other student had to say about his kiss. He said it needed work, but more than likely it was going to be the best he'll get for the rest of the night. As Gray leaned back in his seat, he heard the annoying Jack Burnett clap and whistle for such achievement. He seemed to have great pleasure in watching Gray out of his comfort zone, something that made Gray sigh deeply. Without looking, he slowly raised his middle finger at the boy, not bothering to waste his breath on the ginger at all.

Looking on, he saw a girl spin the bottle and steadily land on him. On further inspection, she looked younger than he was, possibly a first or second year if he was being generous. Kissing her would be out of the question, he didn't fancy doing that with a girl that was two years younger than him. One year or the same was understandable, but two was certainly pushing the line.

Gray got to his feet after a few moments of silence and stood before the girl, his head looking down at her slightly "We're hugging, nothing more, nothing less" he stated bluntly, before opening his arms wide and hugging her for a few seconds. Eventually, the pureblood pulled away and straightened his clothing. Giving a slight nod to the girl he walked off, kneeling next to the bottle to give it a spin.

The glass spun fast, its speed only decreasing after a few seconds of rotation. When it came to a halt, he looked up and saw the boy it landed on. This time he knew this student was the same age as him, considering he had seen him in some of his classes. Gray didn't know his name, but in all honesty that didn't seem to matter at all.

Percival wandered over to Zeke and stood there silently, his curious gaze looking him up and down "You have an option here, kiss or hug. If you're going to choose the first at least try compared to some of the others" he asked of him, opening his arms wide and closing his eyes to know that he was ready for him to come over.

"And please, don't even think about doing something stupid..."

Reacting to Leonard
A kiss upon the cheek from Marshal's best friend might have been the expectation, but it was far from the reality. Looking back, she likely wouldn't even be able to recall exactly what had happened between realizing she had been the one selected, and the deed to seal their fate. Somehow, it always surprised her whenever she was the one upon which the pendulous glass would land, as though sheers would pluck her rudely from the wall to remind her that active participation was a requirement. What a shame it was that she hadn't written in an exception for herself into her own rules..

But never mind, that.

One moment, she seemed to be sharing the surprise of an admittedly unusual result, and the next, Oaksworth had appeared before her. For someone whose presence she could very well have teased Marshal as being a fabricated figment of his imagination given how little she had seen of him, summer camp had decreed their paths to cross in alarmingly unusual frequency. How was it, that out of every other option here, she was to be paired with him? Unlikely was an understatement. Not that she ought to have minded, she supposed. While his friendship with Marshal was likely to raise more flags than lower, the month of shared accommodations had lead to the development of a healthy level of respect for her peer.

In fact, in many ways, she held a certain kinship with him. Not only was he a rarity with a sense of proper fashion when it came to modesty and dressing smart, he appeared to have—most of—his priorities straight. It wasn't at all uncommon to find him with his nose in a book, or a twinkle of curiosity in his gaze. Even the fatigue that hung itself so heavily often from below his eyes was a familiarity with which Evelynn could empathize. He was in her year, and of a respectful demeanor. Truthfully, there had been more than one occasion where she had marveled at how he and Marshal could be such close friends. Then again, she often wondered about herself for the same reasons. And yet they carried on anyway.

She would not be left long, however, to ponder on the details of the forces that drove their shared stories. There was barely even time to register Marshal's wide-eyed gape before she found herself suddenly face-to-face with the Slytherin. Left with zero preparatory time (clearly the time it had taken to cross the tent hardly sufficed), Evelynn's entire focus would suddenly reel itself back, zeroing in on the feel of lips pressing against her own.

One. The first second went in a flash entirely dissociated from the kiss itself. Struck by a flight reaction, Evelynn stiffened, willingly forcing herself not to recoil by the sudden gesture.

Two. Eye to eye, she then became struck by the realization that Oaksworth's irises were not entirely the dark brown that she had, until now, thought them to be. A distinct olive hue danced amidst the deeper tones in a way she never would have known without so close an inspection.

Three. Somehow it was quite the different experience to be on the receiving end of assertiveness. As time ticked on, awareness of her own initial reaction set in. Perhaps, she even realized, the surprise she'd felt just now had been the same for Thatcher. How utterly hypocritical it would be to have criticized the Ilvermorny champion's lack of real reciprocation if she couldn't do the same. Coaxing her shoulders to relax, she let her eyes drift shut and leaned into the kiss.

Four. Inexperience still held her firmly in its unrelenting grasp, but she was at least starting to earn an instinctual understanding of positioning, and her head would tilt to allow their faces to merge a little more comfortably.

Five. One hand lifted, thumb resting across his cheek even as fingers curled loosely into the tangle of gelled curled, by which she was immediately struck by how much stiffer his hair was than she had been expecting. A warmth seeped into her palm in stark contrast to the chill that his pallid skin suggested it ought possess.

And just like that, it was over. The moment she felt the boy pull back, she allowed her hand to fall away. Without a word to her, he retreated, his form slithering back from whence it had come, Evelynn left to ponder at the interaction. It had been entirely different from the kiss with Thatcher. Different yet from the one she had received the year prior, or the one she'd given Morgan. And yet, all of them shared a common characteristic: despite being living, breathing beings, she may as well have been kissing an overripe and sun-baked peach for all the feeling it had instilled. There was no trill of excitement, nor stumble of a heartbeat. No rush of warmth..

Perhaps she wasn't doing it right?

Blinking, Evelynn's thoughts drew from her own reflection back to the source of her mind's meandering. A leering smile had plastered itself across Oaksworth's face, a glint of prideful satisfaction barbed in Marshal's direction to accompany the conspiratorial whisperings of some sentiment or other. She might not have been able to catch the words exactly, but she had an idea of what it was he might have been saying based on posture alone. Gloating, no doubt. Sharing the details of a conquest. Searing indignation spiked itself through Evelynn's shoulder at the question, but not at all for the sake of the one who's feelings she had no way of knowing were wounded. Of course that's what this was...

A punctuated sigh and roll of her eyes would speak the words upon her mind. It was a game in more ways than one. What a status symbol it must be to be able to claim to one's mate of having kissed a captain. Or prefect. Or whatever novelty it was that she represented to the pair. Or perhaps it was just that she was a girl and Marshal hadn't yet been able to kiss one in the game, and so Oaksworth could use that as the source of a jab. The first to cross that finish line.
Reflecting on Percival
Reclining back upon her pile of cushions, she returned the glass of water to hand. A steeled gaze void of emotion peered out from above the lip, absently taking in the others as they took their turns to spin. Of those, only a few would stand out. Gray, once again, chief among them. He had chastised Oaksworth in one of the first spins for not being bold enough to deliver a "real kiss". Admittedly, Evelynn had thought it little more than an empty barb, a slight intended to scratch at the other's pride but lacking in any real substance. How wrong she was in that. As one of the foreigners move in, Gray would double-down, not only leaning into it, but emboldening the osculation with obvious effort.
Reacting to Zykeal
Flared brows would settle only once Lane had taken his turn. Akin to his first action, he had taken an atypical approach. In fact, Evelynn could hardly say if it really counted at all, truly. Having knelt in front of Marshal, the lioness had paused, eyes narrowing just slightly. Where most might find their attention drawn to the expressions shared between the two boys, hers fell to the elder's wand hand. She knew only too well how much he liked to toy with the device, and how quickly his whims could take hold. While there was little reason for any foul-play, the worried mind rarely found itself soothed by notions of rationality.

Only once Lane had risen and stalked away had her shoulders relaxed, released gradually by the loosed breath she hadn't necessarily realized she was holding. The flash of a sly grin in her direction would prompt a flicker of her gaze to Marshal, curious as to what had been said (she would have to ask him later). But it was the kiss to the air that would draw the greater reaction of an exaggerated roll of her eyes and a pointedly flat, "You flatter yourself.."

Honestly. Given that he wasn't even participating properly, she didn't understand the point of his presence but to poke fun at the basis of the game itself and torment the attendants by his mere presence. Granted, so long as he kept the trouble to a minimum, she supposed there were worse fates than having to tolerate his taunts.
Reacting to Verona
Resigned to the sipping of what obviously had to be the most delicious water for how often she pressed her lips to its edge, Evelynn would return to sub-clinical broodish watching of the bottle. With every kiss, the prefect's resolve faded. With every continued interaction, the chance to have a rather unfortunate experience with a less than ideal pairing increased. And yet, she simply could not bring herself to leave. Not when many of the other interactions were so compelling. And certainly not as the first one to tuck tail and run.

Again it pointed to her. How. How. It was as though Godric Gryffindor himself were chortling away from whatever armchair he now resided in the after life, clearly having decided that every game in the common room for which she had habitually avoided the bottle's gaze, she would be making well on it now in a grand test of her bravery and daring to carry through with that which she had foolishly decided she would venture forth to conquer. Her stomach jolted uncomfortably as she lifted her gaze to the owner of the hand whose destiny the bottle had directed. It was the one who looked uncannily like a certain ex-quidditch captain. The very first time she had seen him at camp, Evelynn had done a rather violent double take. Blood instantaneously boiled, a surprisingly hefty amount of effort had been required at that time to step herself back from the edge of what likely would have been an equally violent confrontation. She had not forgotten the way he had betrayed the team and left her hung to dry to pick up the shattered morale in the wake of his sudden departure.

"Greetings," she responded back in a carefully leveled tone as the doppleganger approached. It's not him. Of course it wasn't him. She knew that. Really, it might almost be considered discriminatory that she even entertain the notion of such similarities. And yet, she could not deny the flicker of unfortunate familiarity every time he happened to pass by her peripheries, before conscious awareness could pick apart the differences. He settled beside her—why did it have to be beside her as though he were some kind of equal come to claim a permanent residence in her proximity. Evelynn swallowed. And why was she so nervous.

For just a second, she would glance away. Just long enough to deposit her water safely elsewh—

A hand had lifted to her cheek, putting a stop to any action Evelynn may have started. The last time someone—anyone—had come anywhere near to her neck, she was being brutally shoved up against a stone wall, a forearm pressing to cut off her airway. Lids fluttered at the touch, but not for any romantic notions of receptivity to the caress. Not that the difference would be discernable. She swallowed, the movement of her larynx no doubt noticeable against the boy's palm as she forced back the renewed flight instinct. She was being silly. She knew that. And yet, that aknowledgement hardly prevented her from sitting statuesque in her stillness even as the pad of his thumb stroked tenderly across her cheek. Although, neither could she deny that the gesture was oddly soothing.

Her sterling gaze searched that of the Brazillian's, not quite certain how to interpret the touch. While she could not call it entirely unwelcome, the way it lingered on for several seconds, and then several seconds more...it confused her. It was almost as though a long-harbored desire had finally come to fruition, the boy unhurried in the moment and wishing to preserve the sanctity of the moment. Which might have been a reasonable conclusion if the two had ever before really even met. Heat started rising to her face as it continued to stretch out, gaze starting to flicker to those others who were easily within sight on either side behind the stranger's form. This had the potential to be terribly misconstrued...

Thoughts skittered, nervous energy bubbling uncomfortably to send her mind askew. A nail had begun etching itself back and forth upon the glass of her beverage where it had settled against her lap, the only easy outlet she could subtly manage. Ensnared. That's how she felt in that moment. Caught in a trap from which there was no escape. To withdraw would effectively be conceding defeat and admitting a vulnerable discomfort. Given that she had already made her mind up to see the game through, that was not a viable option. And yet...Goodness could he not just hurry it along and get it done with?

Such was her growing impatience that when he ultimately declared that he was going to kiss her, she was bathed in quite the unexpected wash of relief. A single resounding notion echoed in her mind in response. Finally. But the word that would slip from her tongue was, "please." As in, yes, please, get this over with. Of course, how anyone else happened to interpret the breathy plea would be anybody's guess. With advanced notice, Evelynn would find herself in the fortunate position of being able to prepare herself. Or she thought she would, at any rate. Nothing would quite prepare her for when the boy leaned in. For when his features blurred slightly out of focus just enough to resemble—yet again—another.

It is not him.

The little voice at the back of her mind was prompt to remind her, putting particular emphasis on the fact that the phantom figure would never be caught dead in a button down Hawaiian short-sleeve shirt. But she was deaf to its reason. Somebody else. She needed to replace his face with anybody else. Flashes of a dark broom cupboard would spring to mind, a looming face emerging far too close in the darkened space. Lips would press to hers, and with that, her eyes would flee for the comfort of another in a last ditch effort to try to trick herself into thinking the lips belonged to another. Right before snapping her eyes shut, they had fallen ever so briefly back upon the Oaksworth. For the brief moment of the kiss, it would be his face that swam into her mind's eye. She must have imparted quite the compact lesson upon him in that 5 second span.

As brief as this kiss would happen to be, it was almost pleasant. Her own lips responded, then, delayed, like notes reverberating at the touch of a bow. A harmonizing cadence of an interlude. One that hinted at the final movement to come. But with the withdrawal of hand and boy, it would remain a melody left to drift into the silence that grew with their distance as he returned to his seat. A song plucked from the dusty shelves, then left on the altar of a music stand and left unplayed. Waiting for practiced hands to bring it to full resonance.

In the wake of what ought to have been—and likely appeared to be from any outside perspective—a relatively innocuous instance, Evelynn's cheeks would find themselves flushed prettily in pink. No dazed appearance of whimsical fancy would dance upon her countenance, however. Instead, brows would knit, teeth biting unseen on the inside of a cheek as she brought her water back to bear for a sip. And then another. Rinsing away the torrent of confusing thoughts she would rather not unpack in that moment. Another round of distraction would be in order then, and she would find it in the form of the confrontation between her two least favourite people present: Lane and Gray. It really didn't matter what happened between those two in the next few moments; in some sadistic and self-righteous sort of way, the outcome was sure to lift her spirits. Her gaze would pan over to drink in that bit of drama.

But not before subconsciously catching Marshal's eye.

Jack was fine with the brotherly hug from Ronnie, but it made him miss his real adopted brother, Ruka, a little. Nevertheless, he parted from the Castelobruxo student with a smile. He seemed like a kind, thoughtful guy to be so considerate and Jack was grateful for it. He made a mental note about the kid for future reference.

When Percival Gray looked his way at his congratulatory clapping and whistling, Jack found himself flipped off and couldn't help laughing at that. Of course Gray would take it as an insult; at least coming from him. Never mind that Jack was actually being sincere about his admiration. He wouldn't have even guessed that Gray had been out of his comfort zone when he'd kissed the other student since he had behaved so confidently.

Then the bottle was spun again and Jack cursed his rotten luck. Out of all the possible people who could have landed on him, it was the same foreign student who'd decided that attempting to crush his ribs without a word would be appropriate. Jake made a face, glaring at the other boy as if daring him to try such a stunt again, as he waited for the bottle-spinner to make his move.

As if the cruelty of the game could further deepen the wounds it had already opened, the bottle would yet spin, revolving upon an unseen appendage of fate as its keeper weighed variant options. Time and again, it fell onto another participant, like an authoritative finger sealing the destiny of its victims on a whim. And like pawns in a game of wizard chess, they inexorably obeyed, stepping dutifully in place for the ultimate enjoyment of a hidden governor. Be it for the sake of decisive attack, or a ploy of distraction whose goal was met through mortal injury; in the end, none of it truly benefited the pieces in any way. They were but martyrs whose pain would be buried beneath the facade of a fleeting thrill.
All based upon the decisions of a container cast in glass, mere suggestions that impelled unquestioned loyalty to the will of its command.
Yet the longer its torment dragged on, the pitiless titters of fate echoing in hollowed ears, the more resentful Marshal became toward its apparent authority.

Thus, when that implicating finger found him once more, the realization washed over him like warm water on a summer afternoon. Dissatisfaction at the one who’d directed the spin scarcely registered against the wall of animosity that had been erected betwixt himself and all those around him - built particularly thick on the side of his supposed best mate.
Features pinched in fury snapped from Leo’s face as a boy topped with ginger hair knelt before him. One pair of eyes met those bathed in a hood’s shadow, the former eclipsed by the deepened steeple of a brow as the latter burned a message into them. The red-head’s words carried the substance of harmless advice, and under normal circumstance, Marshal likely would have taken them at face value. However, as a result of fresh betrayal, the spurned lion experienced a lapse in his ability to see the best in people.
The momentarily heightened sense of negative intent made clear the underlying threat in that hooded gaze.

His patience was spent, the fuse that represented self-control almost entirely reduced to ash, leaving the hungry spark that devoured it dangerously close to the gunpowder that had built in his chest.
”And what is that supposed to mean?” he bit back, unable to keep the vitriol from coating his voice. The retort tore from his throat at a more extreme volume than he intended, but appearances hardly seemed relevant at this point.

He felt isolated. Alone amidst the people whose proximity to his heart had been sorely misplaced.
Leo had taken his trust, his loyalty, his friendship, and crushed them all under the merciless heel of his shoe. In one fell act, the true colors of a snake had shown through, leaving Marshal to wonder how he couldn’t have seen it sooner; to wonder why the other boy would tease him along on a string, only to sever their connection after two years of near constant companionship. It made no sense, but then, nothing did anymore. And making the effort to decipher the nature of reality only twisted the knife that had been placed in his heart.

Evelynn had done nothing, save for take part in a game with more fervor than he’d ever thought possible, and yet the space between them only seemed to widen as she watched with apathy from her perch.

As though caught in a waterfall of sand, cascading over the brink of an island occupied only by him, both of them seemed to fall away, fading into the unrecognized abyss below. Anger waned as solitude settled in, every heartbeat throbbing with percolating numbness.
He was alone. In a crowd of people, it was suddenly apparent that not a one of them was there for him. They didn’t care. Even those he’d placed above all else couldn’t do the same in return.

She would never see him as more than a helpless boy who couldn't hope to become anything on his own.

And he had never truly been real. Nothing more than an idealistic fallacy of the brother he’d never had.

Like a thin sheet of glass, moisture coated his eyes, noticeable only in the sheen of firelight that rebounded off its surface. Eyelids firmly lowered, imprisoning the tears before they could coalesce and manifest for all to see. A sharp intake of air through his nose was quickly disguised by a cleared throat.
He wouldn’t allow it to show. Pictures of his father’s unfailing grin wafted before closed eyes. He never had.
And so he never would.

Hazel irises were unveiled anew, vision reforming in time to represent the image of the boy who’d spun him throwing the derisive mimicry of a kiss to the air in Evelynn’s direction.
Instability of emotion conquered rationale for control over instantaneous reaction. Anger clamored over jealousy, while anguish overstepped regret, every twisted sense and sentiment born of this accursed game flowing into his legs as he lifted to his feet.
It was horrible. Darker emotions than the past preceding his attendance of this school had ever evoked now charged through him, hatred bleeding through his veins. Hatred for the emotions themselves, for the situation in which he’d found himself… and for the one in the mirror who simply wasn’t enough.
But it was also beautiful. As every one of those dark thoughts consolidated into a singular moment of clarity, and every twitching muscle in his dominant arm guided that hand to the waist of his sweatpants, the weighing gravity of it all granted certainty as to what he should do. He needed a release; some way to unleash the mounting effects of insignificance. And in absence of will to do so upon Leonard, there remained one target at which this release could be directed.

Fingers closed around cherry wood. Thinning pupils set his aim even before the wand was removed from its sheath, smooth surface brushing against the skin of his hip as it was lifted upward, then subsequently directed at the hooded red-head.
Grim resolve rendered its monotone effect on the sole word that rumbled from his chest. ”Flipendo.”
It couldn’t be denied. The incantation was delicious upon his lips. But it left a bitter aftertaste.

Whether the ill-advised spell realized its purpose or not, another instant would see a wave of horror wash over Marshal’s face, wand still extended in lasting proof of the action he’d just taken.
Disbelief at what he’d done permeated his countenance. Yet a different feeling altogether was what clogged his lungs, breath frozen in his throat while he stared vacantly at the space his spell had been aimed. The only other thing he recognized was the sudden abandonment of all emotions that had led him to this extreme.
Now, in the wake of thoughtless retaliation, he only felt empty. Numb.

Another moment later, his statuesque visage was shattered. Breaking the hold that had pinned him in place, he would whirl around and sprint from the tent, escaping the light for the blanket of night if nothing stopped him by force. He did not glance at Leonard, nor did he meet the gaze of Evelynn. He needed to escape.
Action: Casting Flipendo at Zykeal. Attempting to flee the tent.

MODERATION POST—Round IV
Inisible is the pain fo rejection and regret, black tendrils slithering themselves insidiously around their target to suffocate their breath and darken their hearts. It is a phenomenon that can take two forms. In both, it starts unnoticed. In one, the victim perishes, imploded into themselves and their own self-loathing and pity. In the other, emotion overrides the capacity of their being, exploding outwards to take out anyone in its path. This group would bear witness to hte latter.

Charles Alluring was falling hard for Ronnie and could not at all seem to clear him from his mind during the game. Even the faces of those he paired with would be mentally plastered with Ronnie's likeness instead. Although that could only go so far. There was no way he would take that same approach after being spun by Haley Rose, the sister-by-choice. The girl had also been hoping to get Ronnie, but took the result with a laugh: a bear hug and platonic kiss on the cheek.

Verona Andréas, meanwhile, seemed to be suffering with a building of anxious anticipation. As the game went on, he became more and more dissatisfied. Quite aware of the fact that he was crushing on a couple of people who actually happened to be present, he wanted to "get over" his first kiss. To seal that accomplishment away and enjoy the release of the nerves that would come with it. His opportunity would come in the form of Evelynn Decipio who was less than impressed to have been paired with the Rafael D'Spacito look-alike. Deciding personal discomfort was preferable to any show of vulnerability, however, she would accept the kiss, unknowingly taking another first kiss for the collection in her little black book.

Returning from a mutual kiss with the Durmstrang girl, Olive Adair would finally take matters into her own control and have a spin of the bottle. "Rude boy" Percival Gray would serve to be her partner for the pairing and she would walk over to him, look down at him, and then... stand there. Whether he recognized the challenge for what it was or not, Gray would get to his feet and take the control from her. Deemed too young for anything else, a hug was all she was going to get from him.

Then it was Percival's turn to spin. As though sharing a pole with every girl in the ring, Percival would be progressively paired with every boy, it seemed. This time, Zykeal Lane. The offer would be given, the challenge laid bare. The only question remained was whether Zykeal would do something stupid or not... Or ignore the gesture entirely.

Jack Burnett would catch a slice of luck, it seemed. Hadrian Zuheir the bear-crusher had taken his turn, the bottle once again pairing the two. This time, however, Jack would not fall victim to another attempted murder. In fact, it seemed as though the foreigner would lose interest in continuing the game, making no move at all. Unfortunately, Jack would miss out on a potential lovely interaction. On the plus side, he would assuredly live to spin another bottle.

And then there was Marshal Mozor. The source of the broiling and simmering emotion. Already heavily dosed with jealousy, he would dash the dish with a healthy dose of dismay. Resentment and indignation would be added to the mix and set to boil. And for the garnish, an over-abundance of betrayal. Needless-to-say, he had been served a steaming pile of emotional garbage, and the figurative table-flipping would send it flying. Zykeal's air-kiss to Evelynn would serve the final straw, leading Marshal to jump to his feet to send a rushed jinx flying at the brooding ginger.

Very nearly a horrible backfire, Marshal would just manage the casting adequately enough for light to fly from his wand. Whatever shock and disgust at his own actions might have appeared in the split-second after the loosing of the spell, it would make little difference. The damage would be done as it collided with Zykeal to send him stumbling backwards. Given no attempts by anyone to interrupt his flight from the tent, his hasty exit would be uninhibited.

Marshal Mozor successfully exits the thread.

Charles departed from the hug with Haley, casting the girl a smile, that interaction seemed to he enough. Sitting close, his eyes followed the small commotion in the room as a spell flew and drama unfolded. The blonde pay no heed to them, his eyes lingered to Ronnie... the Brazilian who caught his eye and wouldn't fade from thought.

Leaning close to Haley, Charles whispered"who do you think will get paired next?" The blonde eye's followed the group, studying each member of the tent before continuing"The girl to your side, tall and looks mature. See her?" The girl Charles is referring to would be Evelynn Decipio. The blonde would wait till Haley notice her before whispering"I think the next person she's pair with will be from hogwash- hogwarts. 5 sickles?" A small nod, followed by a half smile. Letting the girl spin first.

"You can spin first but I bet you won't land on Ronnie," Charle's whispered in her ear. Smiling a little when he saw who her bottle pointed to, rubbing his shoulder to Haley's playfully as he flickered the bottle. His heart imagining where it could land... imagining of it bringing him to the one... imagining the moment that... came?!

Charles shallowed hard, his chest tightening through his breaths as his eyes stared. The bottle landed on Ronnie... Ronnie... The blonde felt like running or blacking out. His chest tightening, breathing increasing under his shirt. Staring, unsure what to do... he didn't think that he would actually land on him... on the boy who danced in his dreams.

Charles pushed himself to his feet, his limbs feeling of lead. Unable to move. His mouth felt irrationally dry and eye unmoving from Ronnie... his head ached, panicking as he walked the circle to Ronnie. His eyes lingering to Ronnie. The breathing quickening, staring at him... at the one he dreamed of kissing, of becoming closer with. Only, he didn't think that he would have a chance to.

Charles dropped to his knees, sitting in front of him, the words escaping from him. Charles couldn't hear Ronnie's rambling, if the boy was even speaking or anyone else for that matter of fact. The voices, noises... all faded from him... it became silent, staring head. His head pounded, stomach in his throat. He felt sick, panicked. Almost as if he couldn't do it... would ruin it. His breathing quicken, hands trembled. A part of him needing to move while another part felt frozen.

The blonde stared, unsure what to do... he couldn't just leave could he? What would Ronnie think? He couldn't hug Ronnie... what would that show? Charles kissed everyone there but the one person who... who... who he dared held feelings for. Who he dreamed about. Who he imagined meeting in a moment like this.

Charles stared, swallowing, the tapping of his fingers becoming unbearable as he suddenly sprung forward. Cupping his hands on Ronnie's neck and leaning forward, touching lips. Doing what he only dreamed of. Kissing Ronnie. Lasting longer than the others.

Pulling away, dropping his hands and stumbling back. The blonde shallowed hard, did he? Did he just do that... The blonde felt his cheeks glow slightly red, flustered and unable to speak. The blonde could only stare... he didn't mean to. It just sort of happened. The blonde swallowed hard as he muttered"sorry, I didn't- I didn't..." He didn't mean to. The blonde felt his eyes dart to the others, to Haley, did they just see that? He didn't mean to be so blurt.... the blonde looked up, translating to Spanish as he spoke"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to, you deserved a better kiss." Racing to his feet, the blonde stbled back to his spot. Hiding his eyes in his hands... what did he just do...
Action: Bluntly kissing Ronnie then apologizing, being flustered
