forward dated to second year
Reena was headed to her most boring class, History of Magic. It wasn't anything against the teacher, it was just the subject itself. She didn't even know why someone would want to teach it as it was almost impossible to grab the attention of the class. She gave up trying anyways since she could just read the books and guess when it came to homework.
She stopped for a moment to tie her shoe again, studying the worn out, dirty white converse. They weren't even white anymore. People asked why she didn't get new shoes or wash the sneakers, but she just shrugged. She honestly didn't know why, she just liked how they were perfectly not perfect. She finished tying her shoes and stood up again, moving aside as a girl stormed past her. Reena crinkled her nose and adjusted her bag again, walking into the classroom.
Once she walked in she headed to a seat and put her bag down. She pulled out her notebook and set it on the table. She opened it to a new page, even though she most likely wasn't going to take notes. She did try, but she didn't know what to write down and what was important. Gosh, she hated history. A lot of doodles filled the corners of the page instead of words. She leaned back in her seat and looked around the classroom as more students came in. A boy sat down next to her, but Reena didn't bother to say hi. She just glanced at him and watched the rest of the class. A few tables down, the same girl who had pushed past her sat down and sighed loudly in her chair. She crossed her arms dramatically and slouched.
Reena raised her eyebrows and shook her head slightly. The boy next to her obviously noticed the girl as well and turned to Reena. He asked what the girl's problem was and Reena leaned in just slightly as she lowered her voice. "Her name is Boston. There's this whole thing going around about this big argument she and her boyfriend had or something." Reena rolled her eyes and paused. "Anyways, people are now saying that she had, like, put some sort of spell or love potion on him the whole time." She didn't even get why people cared about that stuff. "Which is obviously not true because I've seen her in potions, she can't recognize pearl dust even if it was under her nose with a label." She shook her head. "It's all rubbish, really."

Attire: Usual schoolday attire: robes, shirt (buttons mismatched), tie (undone), kilt, neck ring, shoes. Nothing fancy!Reducio

Colin loved history of magic class! He and Liam had always read history and often played at acting out great duels and hunts and battles and competed with each other to see who could read a longer passage from their books at home. Colin sighed. But Liam was gone now and Colin had no one to read history with anymore. But he had made a promise to Liam, when he was on the train with Clair and Alma, that he would become the best student he could and earn high grades for his brother.
And with thoughts of Clair and Liam and magical history in his mind, Colin charged along the corridors, his battered old Doc Martens pounding the flagstones! "Yeeep!! Wotcha laddies! Outta the way firsties or ye'll get bowled over! Oops! Sorry ladies! Comin through!" Colin realised as he ran that he was no longer short --- but he also knew that there were no fewer students to dodge and weave between to get to class!
"Oof!" He checked his pocket watch as he rounded a corner, nearly smacking into a very tall sixth year. "Watch where ye're goin now!" He managed to make the last turn into the corridor outside of History of Magic with several minutes to spare, and had also laughed as he dodged numerous parchment wads and a couple of dubiously aimed hexes.
He reached out with right hand, grasped the door frame, slingshooting himself straight into the room! "Owooooooooooooo!" Colin cried in jubilation! He charged directly to the centre of the room, and skidded to a precise halt! "Yesss! Empty seat!" And with that he tossed his satchel onto the desk and dropped into the seat next to a Gryffindor girl. Reena. She didn't say anything, so Colin kept quiet, too.
Well, as quiet as he could anyway! I mean, History of Magic! How exciting. Colin turned towards the girl to wee what her problem was. She didn't seem upset, but was just watching the class around them. For a moment, Colin watched some other girl sighing dramatically. He rolled his eyes! "Girls!" he said under his breath. "So dramatic!" As he fetched his quill and ink bottle and notebooks out of his satchel, the girl next to him spoke.
She began telling him about Drama Queen Boston. He'd seen her around, and had heard some things about her, but he didn't know her at all. He was pretty sure she was courting with a boy and Reena confirmed that, adding that they'd been in some kind of tiff. "So what's with her, anyway?"
Reena said: "Anyways, people are now saying that she had, like, put some sort of spell or love potion on him the whole time."
"Whoa, no way!" Colin's eyes widened! He would never in a squintillion years use a love potion on Clair! Or anyone else.
When Reena said it was rubbish and that Boston sucked at potions, Colin remembered something he'd heard. "Reena, you know they sell those things in Hogsmeade! Haven't you been to Zonkos? I heard she's snuck into Hogsmeade a couple times. I bet she wasn't going there to see the sights!" He nudged Reena in the ribs. "Probably going there to --- stock up!"
Colin smirked. He shook his head, still watching Drama Queen Boston. "No good's gonna come from that!"
