Grey, clouds creating a barricade between the earth and the sun, a perfect reflection of Monica's inner despair. She had the pleasure of playing an informal match of quidditch just the other day, but her performance was no where near the level of excellence she knew she was capable of. It wasn't bad at all by any means, but sports was something that Monica took seriously. It was the force that drove her heart to pump, the motivation to rise from bed every morning. The rush of a came, the joy of winning, the bitter sweet taste of competition. It was clear though, brooms were a whole different ball game to... well the ball games she played back home. Sure basketball was a slam dunk, but having to land a 3 pointer while balancing on a magical stick elevated in the air, and at times, having a mind of it's own, proved to be the Achilles heals for Monica's pride in the heat of the game.
Finding herself traversing on the training pitch, school broom in hand, her intentions were simple, master the art of flying at top speeds, while navigating the skills with making shots, and passing the ball. Like in most cases, Monica had no direct course of action with how to best go about honing her skill for quidditch. Sure she could go up herself in the air, but then what. Throw the ball to an endless void of nothing? how would that help with aiming? On top of that, how would she work on catching the thing, with no one to initially throw it.
Stopping shy of the field, she saw various people working together, practicing their own flying. Does she dare invite herself to someone else group? Does she ask for help? Or does she do exactly what she always does.... barrel through it on her own accord.
Accepting the fact that she might be in this "training session" alone, she placed her broom next to her on the ground. Might as well start with commanding her broom up, and go from there.

Flying. The one class the teen hated with all of his heart. He wasn't the best on an broomstick even with quidditch stardom in his blood. The teen wasn't the greatest at the sport... or even broom racing but at least he managed an O in flying since he refused to drop a single class.
The teen walked onto the field, nimbus in hand and Loki at his heels. The teen scanned the area, others laughing. Chatting among themselves as they flew in patterns or passed the quaffle between themselves. The teen walked past the groups, he was fine with flying- studying alone. He mainly did that in the library except when he had Logan or Avery or another friend to study with.
The teen brushed the thoughts away, eyes trained for the sky, how does one study flying? Eyes flashed over the broom, should he fly for a bit? Practice his flight skills but what if he fell? There wasn't anyone with him if he got injured and couldn't heal himself.
The teen felt his anxiety on the rise, eyes going over each group when he caught an lone flier. Wasn't she in the quidditch scrimmage? The teen took note that she wasn't saying with anyone, deciding to apporch her.
Loki by his heels, nimbus in hand, Henry offered her a small wave and soft smile as he spoke"Hello, I saw you were alone and was wondering if you would care to flt together?" The teen looked for reasons for her to agree, he wasn't an quidditch player or broom racer but he is a healing intern who knew a wide range of healing spells!
"I can heal you if fall or injure yourself today," Henry spoke with a tap of his jean pocket where his wand sat.

Monica stood next to her broom, wasting time summoning up to her hand, letting it fall to the ground, then repeating the process. Feeling like she was wasting her time, and in reality she probably was. What sort of a warm up was it to just summon your broom over and over again? But it was the only thing she remembered doing in class, so it must have some level of merit to it.
However it was becoming apparent, she was stalling, looking for idol tasks to fill the time, and create an appearance of her working on flight. When in reality, she was scared. It wasn't safe to go up alone, what if he hit a bird? Or lost balance and fell? Sure she was a part of an unofficial quidditch match, but that was when she was flying with a team. Going up in such a way, alone, was a whole different ball game.
Well she had come to far to turn back now. People on the field have seen her come, broom in hand, with every intention to fly. So she had to fly! At least once before leaving.
Looking to the sky, she went through the steps she learned in class before you take flight. Noting all her surroundings, the weather and wind, other people in the air. She surveyed her broom, was there any flaws, or damages that would add to any danger?
So far so good, it all seemed like a perfect day for flight, and the broom seemed like it had been just tended to by the professor. No reason to not take to the air.
Just as Monica was getting ready to mount her broom, she was approached by another fellow Slytherin, she had seen him before... but where?
Oh that is right! The quidditch scrimmage, not that she had a formal introduction, but she at least knew of him, to some degree.
"You're...Henry? Right? From the quidditch match?" She leaned a little on her broom, "I'm not sure if you remember me at all, but my name is Monica..." She looked up at the sky, seeing the various people up on their brooms, before getting to speak farther, Henry pointed out his ability to heal, if ever something occurred.
"You know what, I would love a flying partner! I wanted to work on my flight skills, and get more comfortable on the broom, in hopes of one day being on the official quidditch team. Admittedly I have no clue how to best 'train' but what would you say to a friendly race? just around the field?"
Now that sounded like a warm up, getting up to top speeds, banking, and dodging, all while under slight pressure. "Unless of course you have other ideas, or things you wanted to do? Seems you came broom in hand with intentions of your own."
