The night of christmas eve. Henry choose to go home for that holiday not expecting anything major like the last one, the teen looked forward to a quiet holiday actually.
The family decorated the house. Set up a tree that now held loads of presents underneath. Bake cookies. Went ice staking. Henry have found that he didn't remember the last time he did any of those, that he had a proper Christmas. That he felt the holiday so near.
Looking forward to Christmas day, Henry have been spending majority of that night with Rose when their parents announced that they will be hosting a Christmas eve dinner. The Alluring's and Margerie will be in attendance of, they were told that thr attrie is semi formal. Girls dress code being dresses and boys being low grade suits.
Henry would walk with Rose to their room. Wearing his blue sweater with a H stitched to it, the teen smiled softly when they came to their room. Going over to the cloest. Henry took out a small package and threw it to Rose as he spoke"a Christmas eve present to you from Arthur and me," smiling a little before he grabbed his clothes from his cloest then close a corner of their room to change. No longer worried about Rose seeing or anything since they share a room and are siblings.
No shoes. A blue suit that is a bit to large for him. Henry hung up his jeans and sweater then went overand sat on the bottom bunk, waiting for Rose to change. Loki jumped up onto the bunk, sitting besides Henry as the lad whistled for Chaska.

Rose's Christmas hadn't felt entirely normal. Usually they went and spent Christmas with Rose's family in America, in their big manor. But this time, they didn't go. That was because, as her mother had said, they had family here. She knew she was talking about Luke. Rose knew her grandparents had sent her presents anyway. They had done a variety of Christmas things here in Godric's Hollow and the surrounding area instead. They had decorated the tree here, and baked Christmassy things. They had curled up on the couch to watch sappy Christmas movies together. They had way too much hot chocolate than maybe they should have. They had gone ice skating, too (something Rose was absolutely horrible at), and they had gotten a lot of good laughs out of that.
Rose hadn't noticed how much she had missed the snow here in London when she was at her holidays in America. It barely ever snowed in Georgia, but here... it was like a winter wonderland- there was snow everywhere.
It was Christmas Eve. Rose had been informed that a few of Luke's relatives, on the Alluring side, were coming to dinner, along with Margerie. From what Rose knew about the Allurings, she wasn't sure that they would entirely approve of a squib being there, but she knew Margerie would stand up for herself if she had to. Rose just didn't know how her mother would react, if something like that came up. Would she support her aunt? It was a horrible feeling to even think that Pearl wouldn't support her aunt, who had done nothing but be supportive and kind to everyone she met, most especially Pearl. But Rose knew that when push came to shove, Pearl didn't always make the right decision. Rose could pull so many examples for that.
But Rose was determined to be polite and pleasant this evening, and maybe even have fun. Yes, she was anxious to make a good impression on the Allurings, and to meet them, but over everything, she just wanted to try to have a little bit of fun. It was Christmas Eve, after all.
She was very excited for Christmas day. There was something so magical about Christmas day.
Henry and her went into their room and Henry handed her a box that had been in the closet. She looked up at him, and he explained it was an early Christmas present from him and Arthur. "Aw, Henry, you didn't have to," She smiled, looking grateful. "Thank you." She stepped back, letting him start to change as she opened the present. Rose recognized the thick fabric as sweater fabric the moment she opened the box. She gasped, her eyes lighting up. Rose loved wearing sweaters more than wearing anything else. She sat down on the floor, crossing her legs as she pulled the sweater out of the box to look at it properly.
A dark red one with an R on it. R for Rose. It was Gryffindor colors, too, and it matched Henry's. She smiled, hugging the sweater to her chest and closing her eyes. "Oh, Henry," she whispered, opening her eyes again and looking at the sweater again. "This is so thoughtful of you," she said, in her normal voice. "Thank you, thank you, thank you." She stood up, laying the sweater carefully on her bed, and then searching for a dress to wear in the closet.
Rose always appreciated Henry. He brought a smile to her face every time she saw him. He was so generous and thoughtful. Everybody needed a Henry in their life.
Chaska would jump up to sit next to Henry as he whistled for her.
Rose looked for something to wear. She needed a pretty dress, but most of the few dresses she had weren't formal, or were more for summer than for the winter. She picked out a dress that she hoped was fancy enough, along with the long-sleeved shirt that went with it. She always felt like a main character in an old-timey book when she wore it.
She pulled on some dark tights and the outfit, straightening herself out. She felt less awkward sharing the room with Henry now. They were both mature and polite, and they viewed each other as nothing more than siblings. At first, she thought it could be awkward sharing a room with a boy, but she was proven wrong. She thought she looked pretty good, and pulled up half of her curls into a half-up ponytail to keep it out of her face.
She looked over to Henry, shocked for a moment at how sharp he looked in a suit. "I have to be honest, I've never seen you in a suit before," she said, shaking her head. "You look great." She spun, the dress fanning out a little. "Do I look semi-formal?" she asked him.
Chaska's ears pricked up, as always sensing things before Rose ever did. She heard the doorbell ring. Some of their guests must be here.

"It's nothing really," Henry spoke softly smiling as he fixed the bowtie on his suit, silently thinking as he spoke"it probably isn't that good anyway, I'm just learning to knitt but are mum knew. She even taught Arthur and wanted to teached Anna and me but anyway Art taught me how to knitt that," avoiding eye contact with his sister until he finished speaking then looked over and smiled toward her. Taking a seat on the bottom bunk.
Loki besides him, eyeing Chaska who jumped into Henry's lap from his whistle. The lad petted the furry feline as he waited for Rose. Once the girl changed, he would set Chaska besides him and stand up. Walking over to Rose as he softly smiled and nodded a tad.
Loki eyed his fellow feline, batting at her head once then giving a short meow. The orange feline jumped from the bed and paddled over to the two teenagers.
Henry looked down at his own clothes, they fit rather well for being his elder brother's. Giving a slight nod, the teen spoke"thanks, was my brother's," the teen could have wore the black one but figured this would be better for semi formal. Plus the black was a bit to tight for him now that he is no longer a skinny twelve year old lad. The teen eyed Rose and smiled a little as he spoke"as beautiful as ever," then jabbed her side playfully a little. Smiling.
The teen heard the door bell then guessed it was open when the scents found his nose, not quite the Alluring's but someone even better. Smiling softly, the teen grabbed Rose's hand and ran out their room door. Then downstairs, pulling Rose behind him as Loki followed at his heels.
Arriving in the living room, Henry dropped Rose's hand as his blue gaze found his brother; Arthur and Emily. Smiling, Henry ran up to his brother as the two shared their special handshake then hugged. Arthur squeezing Henry tightly before they let go, settling in as Arthur wrapped his arms around Henry and spoke"Father invited us, something about a dinner of sorts?" Henry rolled his eyes playfully to his brother's words as he spoke"the Alluring's are coming which means this evening will be dull and posh," at those words Artgur ruffled his younger brother's hair causing him to laugh as he spoke"don't say that I'm sure it will still be a nice evening." Henry smiled toward his brother then noticed the ring on his finger, was he married already? But he wouldn't have his wedding without him.... would he?
Emily walked over from the tree, red hair perfectly curled as she smiled toward Rose and spoke"pleasure to see you botu again, this night was a perfect opportunity to give you our gifts for tomorrow," the lady gestured toward the tree where eight new gifts sat. Each wrapped and waiting to be opened like the others.
Henry eyed Rose when Luke entered, checking his watch as he spoke"Arthur and Emily, glad thay you both came," Arthur nodded toward his father. Silence is a key parr in communication among the family of three before they became a part of a family of ten or eleven. Emily however bubbled with joy as shekved to Arthur, grabbing his arm suddely and tightly. Arthur let go of Henry as he looked over at Emily, clearly uncomfortable.
Henry fell back, now standing besides Rose as Emily spoke"did Arthur tell you yet? We have wonderful news!" Arthur seemed to glow red around the ears as he stuttered out, "later, Em please." Luke rose a eyebow at the pair as Henry turned toward Rose and silently signed 'she seems like a nightmare' smiling softly then turning back to Emily when she blurted out.
"We're married! We decided not to have a wedding and judt have it be us!"
Arthur face fell and grew red as he pulled at his collar and Lule just stared, quietly giving them a congratulations. Henry just stood there. Eyes wide and mouth slightly open, looking for a language that only his brother and father knows. Deciding on French.
"Married? And your happy with that, Art."
"Henry, watch your tone even in another language."
"She convinced me..."

Before Dinner=================== ===================
Rose smiled at Henry's story about his mom and his brother, and smiled. "You made this?" Henry was just full of surprises, wasn't he? "I love it even more," she said softly, running a hand over the thick sweater. "It's better than what I could do," she reassured him. She had learned to knit and croquet a little bit from her grandmother, but she hadn't retained all that much. She could probably knit a scarf or a potholder, but nothing as big as this sweater with an R on it. This was so thoughtful of him. She smiled, knowing that this was what she would wear tomorrow, on Christmas day.
She smiled at his comment that she was as beautiful as ever, laughing a little when he jabbed her side. Rose let her stepbrother grab her hand and pull her down the stairs, smiling, both cats behind them. He seemed excited to go downstairs, and she wondered why for a moment. Didn't he not like the Allurings? But as she spied Arthur in the living room, it all made sense again. Henry had probably memorized Arthur's scent by heart. Rose kept forgetting he had cool werewolf abilities like his heightened senses.
Rose couldn't suppress a smile as she watched Henry and Arthur's special handshake. She always loved to see how close the boys were, and it reassured her that at least somebody other than her was looking out for Henry. Arthur wrapped an arm around Henry's shoulders, and Rose made eye contact with Arthur for a split second, offering him a friendly wave. The boys exchanged words, and for the moment Rose ignored Emily, still highly unsure of the girl. She was much like her own mother- polite and loud. Rose didn't like the personality resemblance at all.
"O-oh, thank you," Rose said. She didn't doubt that the presents were meant with good intentions, but it just felt a little weird. Chaska sat next to Rose, starting to gracefully clean her ears with one of her paws. When Luke came into the room, Rose jumped a little. He always seemed to command respect, like he was some kind of military captain and everything had to be in order.
He greeted Arthur and Emily, and it wasn't soon after that Pearl followed, dressed in a fancy gown that Rose wasn't sure she had ever worn before this night, and hooked her arm around Luke's, standing next to him.
Arthur seemed very... uncomfortable. Rose knew it wasn't her business, but she wondered why. It was his girlfriend, right? They were supposed to be in love. Henry silently signed something to her, and she signed back, "I know, right?"
Then Emily dropped the bomb that Arthur clearly didn't want dropped. He looked embarrassed, which shouldn't have been his reaction if what Emily said was true. Emily had blurted that they had decided not to have a big ceremony or fuss, and it just be them. From Arthur's actions, Rose didn't really see the "we" that Emily was talking about. She could be wrong, but the look on Arthur's face made her think that there wasn't much of him in this decision.
Rose's mouth hung open for only a second before she realized what she was doing and quickly shut it. So Arthur was married now? Taking a glance at Henry's shocked face, Rose had a feeling that Henry hadn't known about this at all. Arthur didn't think to tell his brother, whom he shared a close relationship with? Was Emily just taking over everything?
"Congratulations," Pearl said hesitantly. Rose could tell she was picking up on the same things Rose was.
Then Henry spoke in a language she identified as French, the words sounding almost accusing, though Rose couldn't quite put her finger on it. Then Luke replied in the same language, seeming to reprimand Henry. Arthur continued to be bashful about it.
This all felt so wrong. What should have been good news to the family made the tension in the room skyrocket. Rose moved to stand closer to Henry, Chaska at her feet. She thought about extending a hand to hold his, or to rub his back, or hold onto his elbow. Something- anything- to let him know that she was there. But something seemed to catch her before she did. Although she wanted to console him, maybe he didn't want to be touched right now. Maybe she would just make everything worse. Rose would hate that. So, instead, she just moved closer, letting him know that she was there if he needed her for anything, but she wouldn't intrude if he didn't need her.
To break up the tension, Pearl smiled and said, "I'll just let the other kids know our guests are here." She called up the stairs, causing the familiar thundering as the other four Moon kids arrived on the ground level. Gabe moved to stand next to Rose, and she scoffed playfully as she saw the state he was in. He was wearing semi-formal clothes, but his hair was sticking up everywhere, his shirt wasn't tucked in, and his tie was loose. She turned to smooth out his hair and his tie, directing him to tuck in his shirt as Pearl reminded Emily of her kids' names.
"What did I miss?" Gabe asked softly.
Rose shook her head. "I'll tell you later." Knowing Gabe, he would probably gasp or make a joke that wasn't appropriate for the tense atmosphere.
There was a knock on the door and Pearl moved to open the door, revealing Margerie. The older woman brought a smile to Rose's face, then a twist to her stomach. Would the Allurings want to come if they knew Margerie was a squib? People like her weren't exactly accepted in the wizarding world. Rose shook the thought away, giving a small wave to her great-aunt as she was buried in hugs by Pearl and Rose's siblings. It wasn't that Rose didn't love her great-aunt. She just really didn't feel like hugging her at the moment. She would make sure to hug her before she left, though. Rose was hoping that Margerie would help this evening to be a little less dull and posh. Margerie had been very kind to them when they had gone to the beach, being there if they needed her, always reachable and available, cooking food and helping with laundry, but otherwise had stayed out of their business. Rose had appreciated that.
Once the Moon kids withdrew, Margerie smiled nodded in Henry's direction, her eyes showing friendly respect for the young man. "Good to see you again, Henry," she said. It was a very genuine, yet brief interaction, as Margerie had picked up that Henry did not enjoy being the center of attention.
"Margerie, this is Arthur and Emily," she introduced the two.
"Oh, Arthur!" she said, her American accent shining through. She was cheerful, but not too much. And she wasn't loud like Pearl was, her voice lower like Rose's. "I've heard so much about you. It's wonderful to finally meet you."
"Now we're just waiting for the Allurings," Pearl filled Margerie in. The woman nodded.

"Were you on board with marrying her or is she in your head to!"
"It's complicated."
"Really, isn't."
"I'll explain later in private."
"And phlegm won't be there?"
"Enough. Not another word in french."
The conversation ceased but Henry wasn't about to say 'congratulations' or forget. Hands by his side as he squeezed them into light fists. Eyes watching as Emily hung onto Arthur's arm, beaming as she showed the group their wedding rings.
Reminded by his wife, Luke smiled a tad as he spoke"yes, congratulations," Arthur just nodded clearly not welcoming the attention as usual. The young adult seemed awkward, maybe even bashful both strange for the extrovert as Emily held his arm. Beaming as she spoke" It was Art's idea with a early marriage something about aurors and emergencies and-" Suddenly cut off by Arthur who jumped in, " no, it was a mutual decision," Arthur eyed Emily as the two looked at each. Emily occasionally whispering to him as he stared at her, shaking his head.
Pearl's voice broke the awkwardness. Calling the rest of the children down with Gabe being the first to come. Henry didn't oay much attention to the boy, his eyes still on his elder brother and his wife. A burning sensation filled his stomach as he shallowed what felt like a lump.
Silence for a few moments till the door rang and Pearl answered. Margerie entered, a large group giving hugs to the lady. Luke offered a handshake as he spoke"were happy you could join us, Margerie," then found his place by Pearl's side, hooking arms with her. Henry didn't acknowledge the lady, hua mind still focused on the events prior as Arthur and Emolt introduced themselves to Margerie.
"Yes, it's a pleasure to meet you," Arthur spoke offering a hand to the lady, "I to heard a bit about you." Arthur smiled as Emilt held onto his hand and offered a wide smile to the lady as she spoke"It's great to meet you, I love your dress," the awkwardness of the situation lowred with the words from the parents. Bouncing of of each other. Pearl spoke then Luke spoke"they should be arriving any minute. Would you children care to help us set the table?" A few were going to speak or volunteer, conversations about to start between groups as Henru blurted out, "this is bullshit," not waiting for another word. Henry turned and took off up the stairs as Luke called, "Henry!"
Henry ran down the hall to his room, opening then slamming the door shut. Going to sit on the bottom bunk as he cracked his knuckles, a distraction as his breathing quicken.
Loki stay in the living room, sitting near Chaska as his amber eyes studied the situation. Emily looked over at Arthur as he broke away from her and spoke"I'll talk to him." Arthur went up the stairs as Emily approached Margerie, starting a conversation with the lady if she cared for.
Henru barley looked up at the knocked of the door nor when the door creaked up. "Are you alright," Arthur asked as he slipped into the room, watching his younger brother who avioides eye contact. Henry held his arms over his chest not daring to look at his brother whi walked toward him. Arthur sat down besides Henry, wrapping his arm around his shoulders.
"Go away, isn't phlegm missing you," Henry replied his chest trembling as he closed his eyes tightly. Arthur held his brother in his arms as he spoke"she can be a few moments without me," Henry didn't respond as he only listened to his brother's words, "I should have told you but I didn't know how with all the changes your already going through." Henry felt himself lean aginest his brother a little as he spoke"how could you? Is this what you really want?" Henry lifted his head a tad so he can look at his older brother's eyes as he listened.
"I-" Arthur started as Henry stared, the young lad reached his brother's shoulder. Squeezing a bit as the elder brother held him and spoke"I met Emily in are 5th year and we became best friends, pusbing each other to limits and taking risks but after school. After school, I knew that I wanted to become a auror but didn't want to wait on other things because I'm afraid that what happened to mum will happen to me." Henry looked at his brother, wrapping his own arms around him as he spoke"It won't happen to you but I understand, you deserve to be happy." The brotheds sat there in silence for a few moments, hugging until a knock on the door was heard.
Arthur let go first, getting to his feet then offered Henry a hand as he spoke"we should go back down, come on," Henry took his brother's hand and got to him own feet as he replied"fine but I'm still calling her phlegm." Arthur laughed a little as he placed a arm around his younger brother's shoulders. The two started the walk toward the door till Arthur saw the nimbus and jerked his head toward it, "where did you get it from?"
Henry leaned aginest his brother, not daring to look at the brother as he spoke"Christmas gift from Edward but he reached out to me, I didn't reach out to him," Arthur nodded, understanding his brother as he spoke"if father asks, I got it," Henry nodded then two left the room and headed down the stairs together.
Reaching the final step, the duo watched as Luke opened the door to reveal the Alluring's. A man, women, and two boys.
Luke offer a handshake to the man as he spoke"brother, I'm glad you can make it," the man took it as he replied"as do I." Henry followed his brother to the others, keeping his eyes on the Alluring's.
Luke stepped back, taking his wife's arm as he spoke"This is Pearl, my wife and dear this is Aaron. My brother." Aaron nodded toward both adults then toward the two brothers but didn't pay much attention to the others as he spoke"my wife; Jessica and our two sons. Andrew and Charles. Unfortunately mother and father couldn't attend tonight, busy elsewhere with sister." Luke nodded to his words as he spoke"there's still time before dinner, what if we catch up letting the children get to know each other?"

Henry was obviously not happy as he snapped at his brother. Rose didn't blame him. Arthur, who Rose had thought was his best friend, had just... gotten married, without even telling Henry. The heck? He didn't even think to tell Henry? Didn't even think to write him? Didn't even think to warn him, to try and tell him before Emily could jump on it?
Her heart sank, as a horrible thought entered her mind. Didn't Arthur care?
She shook the thought away. Of course Arthur cared.
She also hated at the moment that she didn't know French, but the conversation ended soon. Emily didn't catch the awkwardness in the room and continued to beam at Arthur, latched onto his arm. Rose almost hated the way she was so oblivious to the tension, showing off the rings and mentioning that it was Arthur's idea, though Arthur quickly cut her off and her loud voice dissolved into little whispers to him.
If it was Arthur's idea, but not Arthur's idea, somebody had to be lying. Why did Arthur feel the need to correct Emily? Was he hiding something? Her stomach twisted, and she pushed the thought away, focusing on the current conversation.
Margerie came in, full of confidence and charisma, like always, greeting everybody. Rose watched as she accepted Luke's handshake warmly. Henry didn't say anything back to Margerie's short and polite comment. As Emily complimented her dress, she smiled and replied warmly, "Thank you." Rose didn't reply to Luke's comment, knowing it wasn't exactly meant to be something they could say no to. Henry simply snapped, saying something Rose couldn't quite disagree with, then storming up the stairs.
Arthur said he was going to go talk to Henry, and went to go up after Henry. Rose took a couple of steps towards the stairs when she was pulled back, barely able to move from where she had been before. She froze, then retook her spot next to Gabe, noticing it had been him who had pulled her back. "Arthur will be able to help him more than we will."
She bit her lip, hesitant for a moment. She then relaxed, knowing that it was true, even though she didn't like it. She wanted to chase Henry and make sure he was okay, to hold him until everything was alright again. To be angry at Arthur. But she knew the only person who could help him at the moment was Arthur himself. She hated it, but she had to do the best thing for Henry.
Emily and Margerie would start talking politely. Rose could tell that Margerie wasn't escatic about Emily's voice level, but she was polite about it anyway. Rose helped to set the table while the adults talked. An unspoken language passed between her and her siblings. They worked like clockwork since they had set tables like this countless times before. Passing plates to each other, making laps around the table with different silverware. Filling cups with water and setting each at a place at the table. Straightening out the chairs. Rose locked eyes with Gabe across the table, catching his attention, and murmured, "Arthur married Emily, and Henry didn't know." She quickly informed him like she had told him she would, fast and efficient.
"He didn't!" Gabe hissed, barely audible. He was very surprised. Rose nodded, confirming it.
They quickly finished, joining their parents as the doorbell rang again. The Allurings. Rose's stomach twisted. She hated the thought of the Allurings, even though she had never met them before. As she tuned into their conversation, they were just as stiff as she had expected. Calling each other "brother."
Pearl dipped her head in respect, saying, "It's nice to meet you, Aaron." Rose couldn't tell if she meant it or not. Rose noticed that the man didn't even look at her.
Henry had come downstairs, thankfully not looking as angry as he was.
There wasn't really time for Rose and her siblings to be introduced when Luke suggested that they separate kids and adults. Rose smiled awkwardly at Charles and Andrew. She remembered meeting Charles and not liking him very much, but she was still determined to be polite and friendly to her... step-cousins? She supposed that was right.
"Uhm... hi," she said to them. "I'm Rose. And this is-" (she took in a breath. She sure had a lot of siblings) "Jessica, Gabriel, Franklin, and Faith." She gestured to each as she introduced them. "And y'all know Henry. You must be Andrew?" she asked the boy who she didn't know. Merlin's pants, being social was hard.

Henry eyed his brother before forcing himself to look at the guests, he never liked the Alluring's. Their firsy meeting didn't exactly scream fanily reunion and the teen was only just starting to tolerate Charles, at least he could breath a sigh of relief that Colin isn't here.
Aaron gave a curt nod toward Pearl as he spoke" a pleasure to meet you," his voice cold and rather forced as he gestured to his family, "my wife; Jessica and our two sons. Andrew and Charles." Henry felt his brother's arm and leaned closer to him, wishing that he could disappear back upstairs. Suddenly forgetting his brother's words from early, not fully believing that this night can be anywhere close to good.... and he was hoping for a normal Christmas eve. A Christmas eve spent as a family... a Christmas eve that he hasn't had in years. Well there is always next year.
Henry held back from gagging as he watched his father lightly kiss Jessica's hand she offered him out of respect then lightly kiss Pearl on the cheek. Even if the teen had his own first- second actually third kiss that didn't make the thirteen year old comfortable with pda.
"A pleasant idea brother, boy's behave yourselves," Aaron called then with Jessica on his arm, the pair followed behind Luke, Pearl, and if she is present; Margerie into the dining room. Arthur gave Henry a quick squeeze of the shoulders as he spoke"you'll be fine, try to think positive," his brother smiled a little before stepping down thr last step and crossing toward the dining room.
Walking inside where he would meet Emily, the two standing side by side.
Henry walked down the rest of the steps, finding a spot next to Rose and near Gabe. Offering both a soft smile beforr casting his gaze on the two boys. Charles held his hands in his pant pockets as Andrew crossed his arms over his chest, the older looking much like his father with a dull expression on his face.
Charles offered Rose a nod, recounting the names in his mind as Andrew ingored the lot as he spoke"small house, you actually live here?" Henry bit the inside of his cheek, keeping himself from replying not wanting to be the cause of the disaster for that evening as Andrew continued"I always pitted the poor but wouldn't imagine to be related to them." Charles eyed his brother as he spoke"politeness isn't in your limited vocabulary, is it brother," Andrew jabbed his brother discreetly in the ribs when his right hand became visible.
Henry found his eyes rest on a sliver band on the elder boy'a ring finger. Henry lowered his voice so only Rose and Gabe could hear him as he whispered"did you two see the ring? Do you reckon he is in engaged?" Henry gussed that Andrew was seventeen or a year older but couldn't be sure.
"You are all pureblood's at least, right?" Andrew spoke as Charles took a step behind his brother, head lowered and eyes darting around. Henry wasn't paying attention to this as his eyes found the dining room. Questioning if things were better over there as Loki took a seat besides his onwer- parther.

Even though Aaron said that it was a pleasure to meet Pearl, his voice said otherwise. Luke went forward to kiss Jessica's hand, which confused Rose a little. Wasn't kissing somebody supposed to show devotion or something? She supposed it could have just been done out of politeness, but he really didn't need to do that. Rose shook it off. She was just overthinking it, like always.
Rose didn't know which would be worse- going into the dining room with the adults or staying in the entryway with Charles and Andrew. Charles hadn't been unkind to her before, but there was just something about him that didn't sit right with Rose. Apparently, he was really good friends with Drew, but he seemed a little too full of himself for Rose's tastes. She was slightly dreading the coming conversation.
Rose became an actress, calling up a mask. She was pleased to have them here. She was polite. She was a hostess. She had a soft polite smile on her face, covering the anxious tension inside. Charles nodded at her and she nodded back, the only acknowledgment they'd met before. She took in a breath, about to say something polite like "It's a pleasure to finally meet you," or "It's good to see you again, Charles," or bring up a subject to talk about, but she wasn't given the chance.
The redhead resisted a snort from leaving her as he asked if they actually lived in this house. She pursed her lips together, suppressing what she really wanted to say, and said simply, "Yep. We actually live here." He went on to say that he always pitied the poor but couldn't imagine being related to them.
Gabe, however, wasn't as restrained as she was, and he laughed. "Wow. Well, do tell us if there's anything we can do to make your stay in our shack any more pleasant, your Highness." Though Andrew had not seemed to be joking, Gabe's comment was merely teasing. He was trying to lighten up the conversation through a joke. He didn't mean anything malicious by it, though Rose couldn't be so sure about Andrew's comment.
Charles at least tried to correct his brother, resulting in a jab in his side. A flash of silver, and Rose's eyes narrowed. Henry said something softly to Rose and Gabe. "I hope not. Anyone who marries him is in for a rough life," she said under her breath, earning a small grin from Gabe.
As if he hadn't said enough rude stuff, Andrew went on, asking if they were "at least" all pureblooded. Ah, so he was that kind of person. Usually, it took Rose more than fifteen seconds to gauge the personality of a person, but with Andrew it was easy. He was just a stuck-up, spoiled, pureblood boy. He was easy to figure out.
Jess crossed her arms over her stomach casually. "Would you have a problem if we weren't?" she asked all nonchalance. Rose watched Charles and Andrew carefully, not sure she liked them at all.

Henry bit the inside of his cheek to contain his laughter from Gabe's words, leaning close to the two. Rose and Gabe. The teen softly whispered"what was he expecting, a castle? Well, he seems full of himself to expect that..." The teen looked at the two, diverting his gaze to the brothers. He seen Charles before, the blonde tried to speak with him during the school visits or send him owls... Henry ignored them. He would have rather forgotten that pureblood side, preferring to not even be pureblood at all.
The teen eyed the two, nodding to Rose's whsiper they were indeed as he whispered"let's hope they sit far from us." A nod to each. Silently asking them if they wanted to sit together for this dinner, the teen found his eyes move toward the brothers upom Faith's question.
"It wouldn't be, no after all your magical and that is the important part," Charles spoke out. A nod toward the them, the blonde would grit his teeth through a polite smile as Andrew elbow his ribs, speaking"my brother is draft, of course it would be after all the only ones worthy of magic are those with pureblood." His words short, cold. Sizing down Faith. Henry looked over at Rose and Gabe, silently mouthing 'oh no, we should stop them shouldn't we' the teen moved his eyes from the two to the brothers. Swallowing hard. Not wanting to imagine what will happen now as he listened to the two brother's exchange of words.
"Cleary, my brother forgotten the manners he had but apologies for his behavior," Charles spoke with his toe pressed aginest Andrew's foot who shoved him to the side. Henry watched Andrew walk forward, stopping inches away from Faith as he spoke"your quite beautiful... would be a shame if a stained ruined that dress, tell me is your blood stained with muggle lineage," Henry watched Andrew tower over her while Charles stood back, watching the scene as well as he spoke"leave her be, shouldn't you be with the adults?"
Andrew eyed his brother, a moment of stillness before the elder durmstrang left the room for the dining room where the adults conversed. Charles eyes followed his brother leaving, looking back over them as he spoke"Andrew can be much, do any of you like quidditch?"
Henry rubbed at his eyes, Loki besides him as he wished this to be over when Arthur entered the room. The elder nodded at each as he spoke"I was asked to get you mates, dinner is ready," Henry would join his brother's side. Walking in step into the dining room. The adults, Aaron and Jessica already sitting with Aaron opposite of Luke.
Andrew sat besides Aaron, Charles taking the seat besides Jessica. Henry would follow his brother, Arthur took a seat opposite of Emily. Henry say besides Arthur then looked for Rose and Gabe to sit with if they wanted to.
Conversation included among the adults. Aaron turned his attention from Luke to Pearl as he spoke"what is it that you do again, Pearl?"

Before Dinner=================== ===================
The eldest Alluring brother seemed very full of himself indeed. Rose murmured her agreement, too quiet for anybody but Henry and Gabe to hear. Rose nodded as Henry wished that the Alluring brothers would sit farther from them. It was a silent agreement for a while that Rose and Gabe would sit near Henry, being the people he liked most in the house on a regular basis.
Rose didn't have anything against Charles. He may have given her a weird impression at the wedding, but it wasn't anything huge that would make her want to dislike him. She was probably even a little biased against him because she was in a bad mood at the wedding and didn't even want to be there. Charles seemed to be trying to keep his brother's extreme opinions down, and Rose could feel her dislike for Andrew growing by the second.
Andrew approached Faith, getting close to her. Rose could see her hands clenched behind her back, but other than that, there was no hint of Faith being nervous or put off at this. Franklin, who was standing next to Faith, took a small step forward, barely noticeable, but Rose knew that if Andrew tried to touch Faith, Frankie would have something to say about it.
Faith lifted her chin, smiling casually at Andrew. "Sorry, Your Highness, but there is. My father was a muggle. I'm sure your parents would be upset if you were near someone with dirty blood like me," she said, her voice heavy with sarcasm.
Rose just wondered how Andrew would react if he knew there was a squib in the other room.
Charles mentioned something, which was an obvious strategy to get Andrew to leave. As he put more distance between Faith and himself, there was a release of tension in her siblings that you could almost feel.
Faith smiled gratefully at Charles once Andrew was out of earshot. "Thank you. I can't believe you have to live with him." She shot a hateful glare in Andrew's direction.
Charles tried to bring up small talk, and Gabe's eyes visibly brightened. "I love Quidditch. Do you play?" he asked Charles.
Arthur called them in, and Rose smiled, nodding back at him. The rest of the kids moved into the dining room, taking seats at the table. Gabe sat next to Henry while Rose took the seat across from him, with Emily on her side. She smiled and nodded respectfully to Arthur's wife (that was a weird thought), and settled into her seat. Chaska slipped under her chair, laying down with her head by Rose's feet.
"what is it that you do again, Pearl?"
Pearl smiled, letting herself participate in the small talk. "I'm a healer at St. Mungo's. What do the two of you do for a living? I don't think I ever asked."
