Searching For Squid

It hadn't taken long for Marcela to learn about the presence of a Giant Squid in the Great Lake. She had always had a certain fascination about creatures, not enough of a fascination for her to be a magizoologist one day but enough of a fascination that she wanted to encounter the Giant Squid of Hogwarts firsthand. The blond formulated a plan, she wasn't sure what Giant Squids ate so she had grabbed a variety of different foods from the Great Hall at dinner and carefully put them in her school bag.
Marcela made her way out to the lake, careful not to catch the eye of any students or staff who might waylay her from her plans or get her into trouble. She searched for an area away from the prying eyes of people and gently set her bag down on the ground. Her Gryffindor robes swirled around her in the gentle breeze, and Marcela was glad that she had worn them despite the air still being relatively warm.
Opening her bag, Marcela took in the selection of food that she had gathered for her future friend. "Hmm, we have: shrimp, chicken wings, rice cakes, and chocolate cake today. We'll start with... chicken wings I guess. she murmured, pulling the cloth-wrapped meat from her bag and unwrapping it. She tossed the chicken into the lake and eased herself down into the grass, keeping a close eye on the floating piece of meat in the water.
Because she was paying such close attention to the chicken in the water, Marcela had stopped paying as much attention to her surroundings. For all she knew a professor could be standing right behind her and she would have no knowledge of their arrival. "My parents must be so proud of me" she mused, a light chuckle escaping her. Her mother and father wouldn't have been surprised in the least at their daughter's choice of activities, she had always been one to spend hours with their animals at home.
