Farron couldn't be more excited for summer camp. Not only did she love being outside, but being outside at a camp meant that the stars would be on full spectacle. It meant more time with the students that had become like her own children in an environment that wasn't so high stress all the time. There were fun events and games and sports matches to attend. It also meant more time with some of her colleagues that had also decided to attend camp. Of course there was a decent amount of them that needed to attend because the students couldn't be trusted to their own devices, and Farron was happy to volunteer.

This also provided an opportunity to meet one of the newest staff members, Finley Greer, who she had not met due to her being hired during the summertime. She worried about Finley possibly feeling awkward coming in to an already formed group for the first time, and she was determined to go out of her way to make the Caretaker as comfortable as possible.

An early bird despite being a night owl, she had made it to the sign in for tents first. She scribbled down all of their names neatly and chose a theme at random that happened to be, a treasure theme. "We are treasures aren't we?" She said to no one in particular as she was mostly alone as children skittered about and yelled trying to find their own tents and groups. It was kind of fun, perhaps not Farron's first choice, but still a fun tent and she didn't want to agonize over the decision.

After a short walk over to it she pushed her way inside, suitcase in tow to come upon the genius of wizard tents that was them being bigger on the inside. It was quite cozy. As they were all old with bones that were beginning to crack too often, there was quite luxurious seating options. Decent couches and arm chairs. A large table for coffee cups and books or maybe cards sat between them. It was well lit, every corner being properly illuminated. There was a dining table situation for those of them that didn't super love couches. Though, Farron was one that loved being cozy.

She dragged her small, but perhaps too big for this, suitcase over to a bunk bed and set it down. Top or bottom bunk was a big choice and she wasn't too sure which to go for. It gave her an idea, wait out the caretaker and offer to share. Then she wouldn't have to worry about asking or fitting in, and it was a perfect conversation starter. If anyone else entered before her, she would greet them warmly and attempt small talk until more arrived. This would probably be the one day of relative peace before the festivities began.

Finley Greer desperately wanted a fresh start. A re-do. A do-over. Take two.

The first step was her being hired as caretaker for her alma mater's castle. The second (more difficult) step was... Everything else. Re-entering a world filled with magic, re-discovering what she wanted to do with her life, all of that on top of the anxieties and struggles of moving and starting a new job, something Fin hadn't done in five years. But Finley Greer was not the kind to back down from a challenge, and so back down she would not. No, she would elect to volunteer at the school's summer camp, meet her new colleagues, make friends, and start off the academic year with a bang. That was the plan, at least.

Fin found herself already signed up for a tent (along with the rest of the staff, she presumed), seemingly put there by a "Farron Horne", the first name on the list. Re-adjusting her backpack, the only luggage she'd brought (five years of travel helps one learn how to pack incredibly light), she made her way across the stadium, weaving between kids who were flitting about. Fin couldn't help but smile as she passed a group of friends seemingly reuniting after their summer holidays.

Eventually, she had made her way to the "treasure" tent, her temporary home for the next month. She pushed her way inside, the vastness of the interior revealing itself before her. Finley smiled as she looked around, her eyes landing on the one other person inside. "I forgot how much nicer wizarding tents were."

Fin walked towards the curly-haired redhead standing by one of the beds, extending her hand."Farron Horne, I'm guessing? I'm Fin, Finley Greer." She her backpack down on the ground, unable to avoid looking at Farron's suitcase standing next to it. The difference between the amount the two had packed was almost comical. She stood back up and leaned against the post of the bunk bed, a warm smile on her face. "Right, well, I take it you know that I'm the new Caretaker around here. Pleasure to meet you." She took a closer look at Farron's shirt, a small chuckle escaping her. "Coffee, cabins and campfires, eh? I think we're going to get on just fine."

Tuesday generally didn't know how to feel about camping out with the other faculty members. Orion and Halford would both be there, but nothing would likely stop his unsteadiness. They were so close to those estates that Athanatos had gifted them. That man had something up his sleeve, so the idea that he'd just give things away out of the niceness of his heart wasn't in the picture.

The herbology professor shook his head in an attempt to clear his thoughts. He was going to have a good time even if it killed him. With that being said, the man would pull on his natural light smile and toss his duffle bag over his shoulder, letting his hand continue to grip the handle and having his wrist rest on the front of his shoulder. Then, dipping his head, the man moved into the tent and stood at the entrance.

"Hello folks. Good to see you, Farron." Tuesday said as he adjusted his normal jeans, flannel, and bandana outfit. His sense of style never changes. Maybe the only difference was that he lacked facial hair. It turns out he felt that showing up for this was important enough to rid himself of his stubbly beard that was still growing. "I haven't missed anythin' exciting, have I? Oh- There's a new person here; I'm Tuesday Irons, Herbology." After tossing his bag to the nearest open bed, he moved to sit in one of the many sitting options.

Whoever thought having all the professors together in one tent was a good idea was vastly mistaken. Maya would have gotten her own tent and stayed more to herself if it wasn't for Professor Farron's excitement of summer camp and need to bring everyone together. Maya agreed to be a part of the tent on the condition that no one was to bother her. But alas, nothing was ever going to be perfect.

In her signature red cloak, Maya walked into the tent and looked around. It wasn't too bad. It was spacious. She looked for the one bed that was further away from everyone and placed her bag down on it, ignoring the presence of the professors at first. When she found her bed, she looked at who was already there and saw that it was Professor Farron, Professor Irons and a new face that Maya did not know. Was she the new caretaker? They always seemed to have an overturn of staff, especially at the end of the academic year.

Maya went into her bag and took out a book. It was a thriller by Stephen King, and made her way to the couches area where most of the adults were situated. "I'm Maya Galim. I teach Muggle Studies," she introduced herself, her Israeli accent thick, right after Tuesday. Maya opened up her book to the page that she saved with a bookmark. She was not yet reading, but making herself look as if she was about to with the book open. "Let's see how long you stay with us," she half-joked to the caretaker, not making full eye contact. Weird things always happened at Hogwarts and it was up to the person's wits and strength to see if they stay thereafter.

Moving a piece of hair strand from her face to behind her ear, Maya sighed to herself. This was going to be a long one month. Just like students had personalities that clashed, she would expect the same was to be with adults. And there were some adults that Maya did not know well or knew she would clash with in a matter of seconds.

It didn't take long for the other professors to start showing up. It made sense, generally for school events they were the first to arrive and the last to leave. As was the life as a staff member of a boarding school. Much to her delight, the first person to show up was one of the newbies. She was setting up her sheets on the bottom bunk when she heard a voice from the entrance, an unfamiliar one.

She practically bounced to her feet, extending her hand as Finley did shaking it firmly. "That's correct! It's nice to meet you. I'm so glad you were able to join us for the summer." She glanced at the backpack she had set down and glanced around, not seeing any other bags. "Do you need help grabbing the rest of your stuff?" Was there a delivery service that Farron missed out on? Or perhaps she wanted to scope it out before bringing her luggage in.

"Oh! Sorry, I'm the Astronomy Professor. If you ever need a breath or to feel small in the universe, the tower is a great place." What seemed like a one off shirt choice for comfy arriving and unpacking seemed to pay off in making a new friend. "I'm actually about to make some coffee, did you want some?"

It was just about then that Tuesday and Maya arrived one after the other. She greeted them with a smile, she wasn't really close to anyone but she was at least on friendly terms. "A newbie! That's exciting. Also, I'm about to put on some coffee if you'd like." Maya's greeting felt a little more ominous and she couldn't help but wrinkle her nose at it, giving Fin a pat on the shoulder if allowed. "We've had some uh... turnover. But don't let it get to you, you're going to do great! Anyway, just gonna- go do the coffee." She pulled out her own personal espresso pot and cups and other supplies before setting up a fire. She couldn't help but hum a little tune while going about the methodical process of setting up and making some delicious espresso.

Seems you're all set up here, mind if I take the top bunk?" Finley smiled as she picked up her bag and pulled out her faithful sleeping bag and travel pillow, both expertly stuffed and compacted into the outer pocket of her backpack."The rest of my stuff?" She chuckled lightly, "I've got just the one bag, but thank you for the offer. I've learned to be quite the light packer over the years, easier to travel that way. Much cheaper, too."

The mention of coffee seemed to bring on a wave of fatigue. "Yeah, actually, a coffee would be great, thanks." She began unpacking some of the necessities of her bag as she spoke. "Ah, astronomy. I loved the tower when I was younger, I might take you up on that offer when I need to feel small."

The tent flaps parted as two people came through. She gave a casual two-finger salute as the two introduced themselves. "Finley Greer, new caretaker. Nice to meet the two of you." Fin stretched her arms a bit as she joined Tuesday and Maya in the small seating area, sitting on an empty couch. The mix of accents in the tent made her heart swell. Part of her hesitation for settling back down in Scotland was that she'd be stuck with a bunch of people who'd never seen the world, that she'd be surrounded by people who sounded just like her. So far, this was a welcome surprise.

"Well, I plan on being here for a good bit. Staying closer to home, you know. Good read, by the way," she nodded towards Maya's book, a welcome sight for Finley. She had to admit, the idea of leaving behind the world she'd gotten so used to was a bit jarring, a bit overwhelming. Maybe she'd be able to relate to the Muggle Studies teacher, find some reprieve when she needed it. Or maybe not, her disposition wasn't the friendliest. "I got rid of most of my library a while back, sadly. Didn't have the space for them anymore. Guess I should start re-building my collection, though, if I'm planning on being here for a while."

Fin craned her neck, glancing at Farron as she hummed about, the slightly nutty and bitter scent of coffee filling the air. "Turnover, you say? Any more new people coming that I should know about?"

Orion usually would have enjoyed spending his summer back home in France, but given the importance of being in London he could hardly protest when he found out about the staff's tent. Besides, he didn't trust Athanatos well enough to take residence in one of the homes he had gifted the trio. They would need to be thoroughly checked first. Camping wasn't uncommon during his days as an Auror and hit-wizard. Besides, he jumped at any opportunity to torment Halford.

It was terribly hot for some reason and he couldn't justify bringing any of his beloved suits. So, he opted for a more casual look. Rolled up sleeves and buttoned down shirts were his choice of attire for the summer. Pants made of light fabric, boat shoes, and sunglasses also helped. With his trunk floating behind him, Orion entered the tent with a smile.

"Mardi! Your beard has disappeared! I am tempted to kiss those cheeks!" Of course that was the first thing the French man noticed. His trunk dropped onto the floor and he approached his best friend, a hand reaching out to inspect his face (should Tuesday allow him to). "Tu es beau." A masculine 'you are beautiful'. He approved, "But I will miss it."

It took him a moment to notice their company, but he stepped away from his friend to offer the three women a smile. "Salut! Meaning 'hello', more informal than 'bonjour'. I was not expecting to be placed in a tent with such beauties." He easily switched into his more flirtatious side, playing up his French accent a bit more. He offered Maya and Farron a wink.

"I do not believe I have had the pleasure of meeting you." He now spoke to Finley, offering her a hand. If she were to accept it, he would swoop down and kiss the back of her own. "I am Professor Orion Lécuyer, I teach Defence Against the Dark Arts."

There was nothing like getting some time to camp. It wasn't like he ever got time out in the wilderness. As the Groundskeeper, fresh air and a nice breeze were quite challenging to come by. It had likely been hours since he had taken a stroll outside. This would surely be a much-needed getaway before the impending return of the school year. But Eliseo was more excited to just relax for some days and watch the students run about with their mayhem.

Being the strange and rather introverted human creature that he was, Eliseo had admittedly neglected making many bonds with his fellow staff members. He thought it seemed like a good chance to meet a handful of them as they were forced together into a tent. He had promised Zoe that he would not bring anything weird or alarming into the tent. To be safe, he simply decided to not bring any luggage beyond the clothing on his back. He was confident he could pilfer or barter with the students for anything he actually needed.

Arriving with his more energetic and social companion, Eliseo strolled into the tent in his usual outdated suit and dress clothes. It didn't matter what the temperature was, he was not about to abandon his randomly selected fashion sense. Sure he tended to the grounds, but he would look classy doing it and the same came with camping. His eyes flicked around momentarily. He recognized some of the faces even if he hadn't spoken with them beyond pleasantries but there was a face that he had no recollection of... But he would pretend he knew them anyways. It was best that way.

"AH! It is good to see such familiar faces. Now I hope the is enough rum to survive the little ones," The man quipped as he smiled and nodded to his peers. He doubted there was liquor but he would not be himself if he did not at least put it out into the universe. "Now, must I dig a burrow to sleep in?... That would be quite an exhilarating experience..." Eliseo mused pretty much to himself as he took a few steps deeper into the marvelously decorated tent. He was always surprised by how nice the tents were for school-aligned events. There were nothing like the nearly useless 'tents' that he had used growing up. These were always spectacular in their own unique ways with a suspicious lack of unwelcomed bugs. Perhaps he should collect some and let them loose...No...he promised... He was going to be a functioning adult...

There was a soft but pleased smile fixed on Zoë's face as she strolled beside Eliseo towards the tent that they would be sharing with several familiar members of the school staff. It could be hard to find time to really get to know some of the staff with students constantly needing things. So having the little communal place would be a welcome change and a chance to get a bit closer with some of them.

She had made sure to fill her bag with more than enough essentials. The charmed bag had enough clothes concealed within to last her months if need be. She never knew what she might need or what clothing mood she might be in. Of course, Eliseo had taken her one comment to the extreme and didn't even bring a backpack of anything useful. Assuming he would do something weird like that, Zoë did pack a few things for the man just in case he wasn't as good of a barterer as he claimed.

Passing through the threshold of the tent with an excited grin, Zoë quickly waved to those who were already inside talking or claiming beds. The tent itself was cozy and inviting but was also nicer than expected. But of course the adults would need a tent befitting how amazing they all were. While she recognized most of the faces, there was one that she didn't quite know. She had heard that the new Caretaker may be joining them and wondered if this was them. How exciting! But she had to control how loud she was... first impressions were important.

After rolling her eyes at Eliseo's strange greeting, the smile again pursed over Zoë's lips. "AHH! It is so good to see all of you! I hope everyone's break was at least a bit relaxing. OH! I am Zoë Fresnel! The Charms professor. I don't think we have met," Zoë beamed with an excited wave towards Finley. "The person wanting to be a gopher is Eliseo, the Groundskeeper since he doesn't know how introductions work."

Looking around the tent, Zoë let out a soft breath as she hoped that it would be a much more successful camping trip than the last one she was on with Eliseo. She sincerely hoped that there would not in fact be kids trying to kill each other... But for now, she just wanted to enjoy seeing everyone again. There would be plenty of time for chaos and drama to ensue with the rambunxious kids about.
