What did you tell them?
[font=Times new roman]Del, for once, was absolutely fuming, not sure why I said for once, as her narrator, I do have to say, anger wasn't an uncommon emotion, it had just been a little while since it came out full force. Last time she was this mad, she tried to kick a guy and ended up kicking her crush..into a wall. It didn't work out too well. Just to clarify, the crush was not the intended recipient.
As the 5th year stomped out of the Ravenclaw common room, she looked at the steps and remembered...Not only had she never spoken to the boy she was looking for, she had no bloody idea where in this giant castle he was.
She stood at the top of the stairs, and with a sigh the absolute size of an elephant, began the descent. First port of call, the Gryffindor common room..because it was the closest.
When she got to the Gryffindor common room, she asked somebody who came out of it if they could quickly check if an AJ MacAllister was in there, safe to say, he wasn't, so on the journey she continued
As Del stomped through the castle, getting more and more exhausted as she did, I, the lovely fourth wall breaking narrator, shall explain why Del was in such a foul mood.
When she was in her common room, she had heard some talking, just vague chatter about how one of the duellists was sending love letters to a professor...which caught Delilahs attention because she hadn't heard that about any of her teammates, so she questioned the chatters... Turns out..they were talking about her.
Apparently, there was a rumour going around, that Delilah, a 16 year old 5th year, had been sending love letters to...a professor? They didn't say what professor, but she definitely assured them that it was absolutely true. they then made an odd comment at the end. "I mean, you'll need to fight with AJ to have any sort of chance." Delilah squinted, confused as to how these kids thought that she would have any chance, or that she wanted a chance. the name AJ seemed familiar but she just needed confirmation. "AJ who?"
"Allister-Jameson MacAllister."
That was all Del needed, she knew that name, girls liked to talk about quidditch players, and Delilah had definitely heard that name at some point while reading in the common room or the library or..any of the maaaany other places that she sit and read while absentmindedly took in the noise going on around her.
She knew very little about him, but she did know he was a Gryffindor and she knew his face, thank god, she would be able to recognise him.
Back to Del. She had gotten to the ground floor, and she was very out of puff. Whatever crazy person decided to put the Ravenclaw common room at the very top of the tower, were genuinely insane. She had 0 luck in finding him so far, so now it was time to check the great hall, breakfast was basically finished, but there were still some people loitering about, eating what was left over and chatting, only a couple dozen or so students were in the hall.
Just as she was about to turn around and leave, she spotted him.
She took up what energy she still had left in her and made her way across the hall to him. She had seen him before, she knew his face, just didn't know him personally.
"Hey, you, I dinnie ken what you think yer up te but its not on!"
She stopped, realising she had entirely dropped her forced anglicisation over the sake of anger. She cleared her throat.
"Sorry, not sure if you heard, but folk think we send...love letters? to a professor? I can only assume they got that madness from you?"
Despite her now increased politeness, her anger was still quite evident, and her accent mildly harder to control, despite her having put on a more english accent for now about 5 years for the sake of people understanding her.

What did you tell them?
@Delilah Stewart"Reeght, am sorreh, bu' yer gonna nee' teh run tha' wun by meh ageen..." AJ finally stated as he stared blankly at the giggling group of students who were in front of him. Though they were starting to look a tad confused, since this was about the third time they'd explained the situation to him. "Aye ah knoo ahm 'sposed ta knoo bu' ah dinnae because ah didnae reeght unneh leeter!" He raised his voice slightly, something he never ever did. This only caused the students to look more confused, but likely only because they didn't know what he was talking about.
"Teek et u' weth...who?" He questioned, pivoting on his heel as one of the students pointed behind him at an unfamiliar girl who was giving him a look that could kill. "Reeght, her ahm gonna gess." He remarked, a slight twinge of fear in his voice.
He approached her, ready to ask who she was and why she was spreading rumours about him, only for her to speak first. "Eh?" He exclaimed, a puzzled expression crossing his features as this girl barked at him from her position im the Great Hall.
Then she spoke again, her tone sounding somewhat forced, leading AJ to grow only more confused, and a little bit upset. "Okee, lessen, feerst uf al yeh dunnae need teh tal' al fanceh teh meh. Sehcend uf al, wha' are yoo talken' aboot, an' whee are yeh tellen' folks ahm given' chocs teh a' prefesser? Ahm jus' treein teh 'ave meh brekfast. Ah dunnae even knoo yeh!"
There were a few small groups of students looking their way. Clearly raised voices were an attention grabber, and as the pair stared at each other a small realisation crossed AJ's face. "Ahm steerten ta thenk yer as confused as I ahm." He stated calmly, taking a slow, deep breath.

[font=Times new roman]Upon AJ showing just as much confusion as her, if not more, she calmed down a bit, especially seeing the amount of people around. She was so pleased to hear that he was also Scottish though, and she could just talk normally.
"Sorry, a jus foond oot ma'sel', en the common room. sombidy jus sed tha' we were sennin leeters to the same professor." She almost wasn't used to talking normally anymore. Her voice lowered so it was regular volume now, realising how much attention she was drawing to what was going on.
"A dinnie ken, its weird, a thought mibie you had been aroon tellin' folk aboot it, am no sending nowt to a professor, a dinnie want it affectin' ma OWLs or somit." Her anger almost turned into panic, taking a deep breath she closed her eyes for a second before opening them again. "A cannie have rumours goin' round aboot me, a dinnie ken which professor they think we're sending leeters tae but I dinnie want them hatin me reet before ma big exams." Why would a professor hate her? It was unknown even to Del herself why she thought any professor could hate her, she got straight Os, her homework was always top notch, she always did brilliantly in class and out of it.
She realised she hadn't introduced herself. "Am Delilah, nice tae meetcha a guess." Del thought of putting a hand out for him to shake but after running all the way across the castle looking for this guy, she was sweating profusely to say the least. Especially with the jumper she had on.
"A dinnie ken where they got this idea frae, a've no bin sending owt." She shook her head vigorously, trying to figure out where this rumour had even come from. "A dinnie even ken why its us, a've never spoken to ye before." If there was one thing that stressed Delilah out more than anything on earth, it was not knowing something. She prided herself on knowing most things...except how to ride a broom, that was the only thing that had always stumped her since coming to Hogwarts.

@Delilah StewartAJ could quite easily think of why a Professor might hate him, or at least dislike him. He very much did not get straight O's and some of his homework was...questionable at best. There was definitely some subjects he didn't put much effort into, it had to be said. Of course he wasn't reading Delilah's mind about this subject, they just happened to be thinking about the same thing.
When she introduced herself he answered in kind. AJ, tho ah gut tha feelun' ya alruddeh knoo tha'" He added with a shrug. He would've felt awkward and rude had he not given his name, as unecessary as it was.
"So wha' yer seeyun es wev go' a mesterry on oor hands." He spoke after listening to her explanation on the events that had led up to her looking like she wanted to smash his face into his breakfast. "An ye' a luft ma tweed ha' an' pipe en the Nuffler Nook." He joked, hoping that the girl had read or at least new of the World's Greatest Detective. Despite living among them for years at this point, he had no idea what magic folk read...spellbooks usually.
"Noo ahm gonna be tha feerst wen teh admet tha' am no tha smartes' cookie un tha jar, buh evven ah reeckun wev ben se' up here." He explained his thinking. His accent was thicker in the presence of his fellow Scot. "An ef am reeght tha' meens theers semwun en tha schewel tha dunnae leek either ef us much." He concluded.
"Yanno whech prefessur et wes?" He asked her curiously, hoping there was perhaps a lead to be found in that.

She chuckled at his joke about the tweed hat. "Av no go' me flat cap either." She was trying to relax a bit more now that she realised it didn't actually have anything to do with AJ himself.
Delilah was trying to rack her brain thinking of people that wouldn't like her very much, Siege had been away to Durmstrang for years, and she didn't even know if he disliked her, she just didn't like him because of a whole kerfuffle that happened in first year. As for Dmitri, he definitely seemed like he could be the kind to start a rumour, or would that be too far below his stuck up nose?
"Na, jus' caught a coupl-a yunner yins yatterin." Delilah imagined there was probably more people that disliked AJ more than Del, although maybe that was untrue now that she was a beast in the duelling scene, somehow she had made a mild name for herself, despite only being wee, she could pack a decent spell on the duelling platform. "Almos all the folk av bit in a duel didnie seem like the petty type."
"How do we e'en go aboot stopping rumours lik tha'?" Delilah was generally pretty well liked, she had never had rumours thrown around about her before, maybe that was why she got mad when she had heard this one, especially with OWLs coming up, her reputation among the professors was that of a dedicated student, as far as she was aware, and she really didn't want that changing right before the biggest exams of possibly her life.
