Truth or Dare — Group THREE
MODERATION POST—Round IIKim Sato, fellow summer camp committee member, had made a sparkling appearance dressed entirely in white (bold of him to assume it wouldn't get soiled) and a pair of close-enough-to-pass-as-piratey golden hoop earrings. Adverse to integrating with the rest, he would keep a distance, but was eventually forced to seek out Eyebatch Pwnies' entirely daft pride and joy (emphasis on the Pride with a capital P), Leonard Oaksworth. The slytherin would find himself dared to wear a silk blindfold, head onto the gangplank and jump 20 times without stopping or falling into the water. Not to disappoint his
Stephen Schwartz was overjoyed by the pirate presentation of the camp, especially keen about what mischievous antics certain members would contribute. On the ship, he would transform himself into Airship Capt. Rigel "Rattlebones" Notleigh before approaching Kim Sato, concerned about the latter's distance from the rest. When the cannon fired, however, he was off to find Ivy, whom the school had collectively decided had put the belle in Bellamy. She would receive a question demanding of the truth as the boy wondered what was one thing most people believed to be true about her, but actually wasn't. Unfortunately, the answer would get lost to the wind as the pureblood decided the game was not for her.
@Ivy Bellamy did not post and so has been removed from the game going forward.
Esmeray Rosslyn found herself to be quite excited for the game of Truth or Dare, in no small part due to the setting. The cannon, especially. She would start off simple herself, but receive Serena Towers as her target, tasked to deliver a question worthy of the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, lest ye be tossed asunder to sink to Davy Jones' locker. Hers was a good one, too, inquiring as to what the part-goblin would do if she knew there were no consequences.
Kamila Yavlinsky felt a touch of regret for having signed up, disappointment only growing with the lack of peers assigned to her ship. Seemingly set to deliver memorable challenges, she carried a certain air of defiance as she approached Stephen Schwartz. The dare: to give her the recipe for pryaniki, but stated in Russian. Apparently she had missed the memo on the point of dares, given her hope that he would be outright incapable of completing the dare. Contrary to her belief, however, there were a lot of students outside of Koldovstoretz who spoke Russian. Durmstrang, for example, delivered their entire syllabus in Russian, so all Durmstrang students were fluent to some degree. And apparently Schwartz was a rare gem with Russian heritage, capable of flawlessly delivering the recipe down to the exact measurements and ingredients. Somebody find this kid a personal chef trainer. He is clearly a prodigy.
Felix Kolbeck had somehow come to the conclusion that risking humiliation in a game of truth or dare was better than becoming awesome and powerful with the guidance of the one and only Yefim. Maybe if he put on a bit of muscle, he wouldn't hate looking at himself in the mirror, since his mother was clearly a genius with good taste when it came to his hair transformation. But never mind. Displaced hatred would find its way projected onto the unfortunate Vivienne Beaumont whose name would be announced loud enough for the gods to hear. His dare would no doubt result in a comical outcome. She had been tasked to wear as many props as physically possible for the remainder of the night. Who needs to be able to move, anyway. Finding the dare entertaining, she would happily oblige, grabbing a few items to give herself a piratey appearance. The question would remain: was Felix satisfied that she had met the "as many props as possible" criteria?
Bubba McGarry was one of the hopefuls pointed out by several other students with great expectations to deliver momentous challenges. And he would absolutely deliver. Nervousness aside, he would step into stride with ease, ready to take on students several years his senior. Even the soul-shattering glare of McGruffy Whineypants, Felix Kolbeck, wouldn't be enough to dissuade the brave Eagle. Mr. Leathers would find himself tasked with a dare that befit his angsty emo rocker attitude: dress up in a ridiculous outfit, climb to the highest heights, and belt out a whiplash inducing throwback of nothing other than the Backstreet Boys' "I want it that way". Too bad he was a pureblood who probably didn't have the faintest idea what Bubblepants was on about.
After (kind of sort of maybe?) fulfilling Felix's dare, Vivienne Beaumont would take her own turn tracking down Kamila Yavlinsky. The latter wouldn't have quite the same luck as the former. A long walk down a short pier would be the price to pay for this particular dare as Vivienne challenged her to walk the plank.
Confident and comfortable in the setting, Lillian Ward would take the concept of that dare and up it a notch. The almost-veteran Truth or Dare player would receive the blind Annie Morgan on her paper, and subsequently challenge the elder girl to swim a lap around the ship. Not that Lillian likely knew that given how well Annie tended to be able to compensate for her deficit. To the Huffle's credit, she would accept.
But not before administering the question required of her own target. Annie Morgan had drawn Esmeray Rosslyn. A holler across the deck would announce to everyone present the question the latter would have to answer: to tell the soon to be drowned sea-soaked Annie her most embarrassing stories once the lap around the ship was complete.
The boldly uncourageous Leonard Oaksworth would find himself outside of his comfort zone and in the terrifying presence of people, all in the name of being less weird. He would wear the deception well, disguising himself as a normal child in ship crew fashion. To Kim Sato would go his focus, daring the similarly distant boy to sing a sea shanty (real or made up) at the top of his lungs. For being so initially recluse, Kim certainly seemed to have no issue with such an extroverted situation. Garbing himself in something more befitting of a sea-faring voyager, he would thrust a sword into the air and belt out a song he had learned from something called a MoveE.
Reena Delgado was quite excited for truth or dare, the act of walking that line between well and poorly behaved eliciting a certain thrill in the girl. Another fan of the pirates, she would get right into the game, drawing Cassius Myrtle, and daring them to spin around 10 times fast and then attempt to walk in a straight line. A relatively innocuous task, all things considered. Perhaps Cassius had a particularly weak stomach for that kind of thing, or perhaps it was something else. Either way, they would elect to refuse the task and bow out of the game.
@Cassius Myrtle failed to post and so has been removed from the randomization going forward.
Serena Bowen, coming off the positive experience of a previous summer camp playing the same game, was ready to jump into the action all over again. Assigned to one Bubba McGarry, to whom she politely introduced herself before presenting a most probing question: what was one thing he wished people knew about him. Surely nobody could have expected his answer. Rather than a curious personal trait, he would share a memory of loss, challenge, deceit, trickery, and mayhem, all rolled into one adorable little guinea pig package.
Enchanted by the enchantments that had permitted the setting, Della Barfield found herself equally excited for the evening of chaos and fun. Serena Bowen would be her target, a girl to whom the lioness would have to present a truth. Apparently Della would start things off quite innocently, asking Serena Bowen a potentially incriminating question depending on how academically sensitive she was. The question: what was the worst grade she had ever received.
Somehow, Serena Towers had equated "Truth or Dare with delinquent children" as "a nice break", which clearly begs the question as to exactly what sort of drama was happening in her tent. A poke to the rampaging Felix later, and she would soon track down Lilith Lillian Ward. But not before finding herself a stuffed parrot and a hat over a bandana. Another truth question. And another gentle incursion into the game with the inquiry of what sort of song the girl would sing were she to participate in a musical. What was with all these nice questions anyway? Where was the dirt?! Even Lilith.. er.. Lillian!.. had thought it "boring". Surely she would find find her excitement soon enough, though. At any rate, she would provide an acceptable answer in the form of "Maybe This Time".
With two people having pulled out of the game, this meant that two had been left stranded, without dares or questions. Bang. Bang. Twice, the canon would fire, sending a fresh assault of cannonball crumpled papers into the crowd at targeted individuals.
Della Barfield would receive a Truth that stated, "Have you ever been scolded in front of your friends? What happened? Answer out loud so everyone can hear."
Reena Delgado would receive a Dare that stated, "Draw a moustache worthy of a captain upon yourself without the use of a mirror."

Truth or Dare — Group THREE

Ohhh, "Rattlebones" could not have been happier with the name the cannon spit out to him. He had been formulating this dare in the back of his mind ever since he noticed his tent mate, Bubba McGarry, was in his group. He knew Bubba would get into the spirit of it and make it epic.
"Arrrgh, Bubba McGarry! Git yer lice infested, bleedin' gums, seadog of a carcass ov'r ere an' r'ceive yer dare." Stephen ordered Bubba to come to him because, well, wasn't it obvious? He clearly, as Airship Capt. Rigel "Rattlebones" Notleigh, was Bubba's commanding officer on this upcoming voyage into the farcical and would not deign to go him. Unheard of. Patently absurd. Anyone thinkin' any diffr'nt would be shot in their peg leg.
When Bubba stood before him, Rattlbones smiled and winked at him. He lowered his head, and no longer in his pirate persona, proclaimed to his tent mate and whispered, "If anyone on this ship can do this, it is going to be you." Then straightening back up, he tossed a black pouch with a skull and crossbones symbol on it, heavy with 18 golden doubloons, to Bubba.
"Yer mission, should ye choose to accept it, is to go o'er to the props chests an' gussy yerself up like a pirate wench. THEN ye need to approach yer fellow pirates an' 'and 'em a doubloon, explainin' ye have a task to perform. If they like yer effort, they give the doubloon back to ye. If they don't, they keep it an' ye move on to 'nuther crewmember an' repeat until all three tasks are done an' ye return to me with minimum 7 doubloons.
Now, 'ere are yer three tasks. They can be done in any order:
1. Sing an' dance to the tune "I Feel Pretty" in as close to a falsetto as ye can get.
2. Climb atop the T/D cannon an' ride it like a mechanical bull, narratin' yer 10 seconds of buck buccaneerin' triumph.
3. Fill a tankard with pirate rum (aka pumpkin juice) an' place it atop yer head. Walk 20 steps, in as straight a line as ye can thru the busiest part o' the deck, without spillin' a drop.
"Now, off ye go an' 'ave fun, matey!"

OOC: Bubba, if this is too much, just pick one of them and do that one, but you have to be dressed like the wench while doing it.

"Good job. I am quite impressed that you actually were able to complete the dare. I might have you teach me the borscht recipe when this is over." Kamila laughed, "I think I will make the next person ride a shark now. So, thanks for that idea."
Her dare was to walk the plank. That should be pretty easy. Kamila had reasonably good balance. She approached the plank. "Okay, one two three. Go." Kamila muttered. "Alright I am going to walk the plank!" She announced loud enough for the person who had given her this dare to hear.
One foot in front of the other. Forward. Kamila walked to the end of the plank turned and walked back. "If you want any chance winning this game you might want to give the next person a harder dare."
That was that. Done. Time to move on. This time she was not going to let her victim squirm away with the win. Kamila looked at the paper she had been given. This person wanted a truth question. "What is your biggest secret and why have you not told it to anyone?" Kamila asked. Her shark dare would be saved for her next victim.

Truth or Dare — Group THREE

Round 1 (Cont.):
Before Felix could protest 'Oh I don't know this song' - as if anyone didn't know I Want It That Way, Bubba took a pen from his pocket and took the piece of parchment the cannon spat at him with his name. He hastily (but legibly) scribbled down the words to I Want It That Way. He then took the piece of parchment and held it out waiting for Felix to take it and begin what was sure to be the performance of the night. "Have fun, sport."
Round 2:
Before Bubba knew it, it was that time again. The cannon fired off a couple of paper balls that went to people that had been missed in the first round, giving them a chance at either glory or humiliation. Now it was time for the fun part. The cannon rumbled to life, Bubba couldn't contain his excitement. He was also worried, that first dare had really hit it out of the park. Where on earth did he go from here? He should've started medium-sized, with a fun but not outrageous dare, temper those expectations. Instead he went probably as big as you could. Where do you go from a pirate rendition of I Want It That Way. He just needed someone to tell him why... why did he have to set himself up for utter failure. Maybe the next person would pick truth and he could come up with suitably ridiculous questions.
It was time now, the rumbling of the cannon had reached its zenith. With a loud bang everyone was showered with balled-up pieces of paper. Bubba's hit him in the hands and he dropped it - this is why he'd never had the makings of a varsity athlete. He picked up his piece of paper but before he could identify his next victim he hear his name called. It was Stephen Schwartz, one of his tent mates. It was an excellent approximation of a pirate voice and he was quick to reply. "SIR, YES SIR!" He shouted as he ran over to Stephen and stood bolt upright in front of Stephen, "WHAT ARE YOUR ORDERS, SIR?!"
He listened intently to the trifurcated dare. This was quite a big one. It rivaled his but if he was being honest, it lacked focus. It was complicated for the sake of being complicated. Singing I Feel Pretty on its own was basically his. Riding the cannon like a mechanical bull, eh, whatever, ok but not amazing. The last one, well that was basically one of the sobriety tests he'd seen at least 5 times on the streets of Boston before they'd moved. Still, he would do it. He wasn't going to be the party pooper.
"Aye, that should make for quite a bit of fun indeed, matey," Bubba replied as he switched into a pirate accent on queue, taking the purse of doubloons. "Now cap'n, I'll be happy to go an' lead the crew in song, make sure the cannon is greased but I've got a better idea for when I'm on it, and then I'll walk 20 steps heel to toe as me daddy did many times." He said, the harshness of it was hurting his throat but he pressed on, getting the bright idea to add, "But doin' this voice is gonna make me mighty thirsty, so I'm keepin' the doubloons and giving 'em to the bar wench when we're done."
It was time for step one - get gussied up. Well, let's do it properly bubba thought. He grabbed a bandana that was made to cover his hair and put that on first, it was a deep crimson, all the better so they can't see you bleed. He then put on a captain's hat on top of it, it'd have to come off for challenge number three but that didn't matter right now. He took out a black leather coat then went down to his knees and put it on, finally grabbing a cutlass and brandishing it in his left hand.
ReducioSo as to not clutter this thread with a bunch of responses, Stephen and I have agreed that I can make up some crew members as part of this dare
He walked over to the first set of crew members he playfully brandished the sword in front of him "Ahoy me hearties, it's a wonderful night is it not." He began, taking out the first six doubloons and handing them out. "Now I'm about ter do something, and if you think I've done a good job, then you'll tell me, alright?" He cleared his throat and prepared himself, there's no way to get his voice that high but damnit, he was going to try. "I love nights like this, the moonlight, it just... it just makes me feel.."
He broke into song,
"Pretty, oh so pretty,
I feel pretty, and witty, and bright
And I pity
Any girl who isn't me tonight"
His voice was already having some difficulty with the falsetto, and he already had enough trouble staying in key, so he decided to drop it a register to get through it as he continued, pirate accent and all:
"I feel charming
Oh, so charming
It's alarming how charming I feel
And so pretty
That I hardly can believe I'm real"
A couple of the crew mates joined in at the appropriate times, which was a surprise to Bubba. He didn't think this was going to be a West Side Story crowd.
"See the pretty girl in that mirror there?
(What mirror, where?)
Who can that attractive girl be?
(Which? What? Where? Whom?)
Such a pretty face
Such a pretty dress
Such a pretty smile
Such a pretty me!
I feel stunning
And entrancing
Feel like running and dancing for joy
For I'm loved
By a pretty wonderful... SCALLYWAG!"
To his great surprise, the entire crew gave their doubloons back. Bubba had the sneaking suspicion that most of them had only given it back because they wanted him to stop singing. He could hardly blame them, he really couldn't sing. Still, he was here to have a good time.
He thanked his crewmates and went over to the cannon. He repeated the process with the doubloons, handing them out and explaining the assignment. This time, though, he was not content with his instructions, no he was going to mount the cannon but he had a better idea. He got up on the cannon and started to sway back and forth.
Given that it was supposed to be a bull, he decided it was time for some country and broke into "Word Up" by the BossHoss. He sang the first verse in a lower register that he was much more comfortable to his voice.
"Your pretty ladies around the world
Got a weird thing to show you
So tell all the boys and girls
Tell your brother, your sister and
Your mummy too
'Cause we're about to go down
And you know just what to do"
All the time he was singing he was swaying back and forth. Since it wasn't a real cannon it hadn't been locked down and he was able to slide back and forth, waving his sword in the air like he was swinging the lasso. This song was more his speed and it would've been pretty clear that he was having a good time. He raised his voice an octave for the second verse and kept going.
"Wave your hands in the air like
You don't care
Gilde by the people as they start
To look and stare
Do your dance, do your dance, do
Your dance quick
Come on pretty lady tell me what's
The word"
After the second verse, he dropped back to the first octave to sing the chorus, once again he was sliding back and forth on the cannon, swinging his sword around.
"Word up, word up
Word up everybody says
When you hear the call you've got
To get it underway
Word up, word up
Word up it's the code word
No matter where you say it you
Know that you'll be heard"
Bubba could've kept on going and finished the song but he decided to skip to the end. It had been well beyond ten seconds and he wanted to finish his own dare so that he could issue his own. This was a gargantuan dare but he was really enjoying it. He got off the cannon and removed his hat, taking a bow. A couple of the crew gave him a "yee-haw" and all of them gave him the doubloons back. He was done but he wasn't going to sell Stephen short, he went ahead and got ready for the third part.
He put his hat on top of the cannon and went over to the refreshments table. He picked up a tankard, grabbed the pumpkin juice, and filled it up to one inch below the brim. That seemed fair to him. There were another six crew members over here. Bubba took out the doubloons and handed them out, "Alright boys, this one's pretty simple. I've got to walk right through this crowd of people with this tankard on my head without spilling it."
Very carefully, Bubba put the tankard on the top of his head and set off across the deck. The first five steps passed without incident. After this, it got seriously more complicated. Bubba kept walking heel to toe and narrowly squeezed between Felix and another student he didn't know. He was halfway done now. He took a deep breath before continuing. He was almost home free now, fifteen steps. He had barely moved his head at all. His balance faltered and he jutted to the right. He managed to keep himself upright but he felt some of the juice spill from the tankard. The tankard was still there though. One more step, and DONE.
He took the tankard off his head and walked back over to the table. He had lost about an inch of pumpkin juice with his stagger. This time, one person was unimpressed. 17/18. It was good but he wanted perfection. Oh well. Before he went back to Stephen he chugged the pumpkin juice. All that exertion had made him very thirsty. Finally, he headed back to Stephen. He shook the clearly nearly full bag of doubloons in front of him and whispered in his ear, "Payback's a bitch."
With that, he walked away. He took a seat and pulled out the balled-up piece of paper he'd dropped before. He unwrapped it, he had gotten Kim. He didn't know Kim very well but he knew Kim liked to sing. What could he do.. more ridiculousness? That was plenty ridiculous. He'd really enjoyed singing just then, even if he wasn't that good at it. And then it hit him.. a duet. Make Kim sing with him. That could be very fun indeed. What to sing though? Something that was suitably festive this time. They were at a pirate camp. A sea shanty! But what song.. what song was good for a pirate ship? And then it hit him Downed and Drowned, it was perfect for them to sing without instruments. He took his pen out again, as he wrote down the lyrics he indicated where Kim would sing, where Bubba would sing, and where they both would sing.
Reducio
Kim: San Jose was lost at sea
Along with a Spanish company
Their powder caught under fierce attack
The king never got his emeralds back
Both: They're down, downed, and drowned
Downed and drowned and never found
Kim: The Royal Charter in Dulas bay
One of 200 lost that day
Miners' pockets filled with gold
Dragged them down to the ocean cold
Both: They're down, downed, and drowned
Downed and drowned and never found
They're down, drowned in the depths below
Where the sun don't shine and the winds don't blow
And the timbers crack and the mainstay fails
We'll all find peace wrapped within our sails
Bubba: Mary Celeste was found alone
The fate of her crew is still unknown
Murder, fraud, or acts bizarre
No one can say but chances are
Both: They're down, downed, and drowned
Downed and drowned and never found
Bubba: Hail the revenge for their bravery
Tried to escape fighting 53
The surrender of her last 16 crew
Couldn't save her boards from the briny blue
Both: They're down, downed, and drowned
Downed and drowned and never found
They're down, drowned in the depths below
Where the sun don't shine and the winds don't blow
And the timbers crack and the mainstay fails
We'll all find peace wrapped within our sails
Kim: Pity the crew of Hermione
Suffered a curse in mutiny
Their vicious captain caused the brawl
Mutineers and victims all
Both: They're down, downed, and drowned
Downed and drowned and never found
Kim: General Slocum's wheels of wood
Caught ablaze like they never should
Floats of cork filled with weights instead
Sent families off to the riverbed
Both: They're down, downed, and drowned
Downed and drowned and never found
They're down, drowned in the depths below
Where the sun don't shine and the winds don't blow
When the timbers crack and the mainstay fails
We'll all find peace wrapped within our sails
Kim: All my friends are dead and gone
I'll join them soon, it won't be long
Whether lost at sea or far ashore
To the ocean return forevermore
We're down, downed, and drowned
Downed and drowned and never found
Both: Down, downed, and drowned
Downed and drowned and never found
Down, downed, and drowned
Downed and drowned and never found
Down, downed, and drowned
Downed and drowned and never found
Down, downed, and drowned
He finished writing and got up, going to look for Kim. He found him pretty quickly, "Kim! I've got a good one for you, should be some good fun for both of us!" He waited for Kim to turn around before launching into his dare, "If I remember right you fancy yourself a bit of a singer." So, he said, offering the paper with the lyrics written down. "You're going to carry me through a duet of an old sea shanty called Downed and Drowned."
He put his arm around him in a jocular fashion so that they could sway back and forth as they both sang. He waited for Kim to start the show.
I have given Kim permission to godmode Bubba through the song for the purpose of ease and simplicity

Truth or Dare — Group THREE

Stephen was delighted to see the gusto and enthusiasm with which Bubba embraced the dare. As he raced around the deck, Bubba delivered more than a few hearty laughs and put in a tremendous effort.
Rattlebones found fault with only three things: the wench outfit he donned felt more Anne Bonny like, which is to say... female dressing like a male... rather than the pulchritudinous paragon of pirate wenchiness Stephen had envisioned, but he would chalk it up to lack of specificity on his own part; second was the absolute insubordination his deck hand showed by taking it upon himself to "cowboy up" the cannon dare, missing the point entirely, which had been to hear an epic pirate recitation of ridin' rough, choppy seas, but Bubba went with the obvious, entertaining though it was; and finally, he did spill more than a few drops of the "rum" in the third challenge, but watching him navigate the masses on deck while walking heel to toe was Stephen's answer as to what one should do with a drunken sailor ... give him a sobriety test, of course!
When Bubba presented his hoarse, sweaty, but victorious self to Stephen with a nearly full purse of doubloons, Stephen could not help but smile broadly and pat his tent mate heartily on the back. "Well done! Well done, indeed! Most enjoyable! Yer lucky I am feelin' in 'igh spirits t'day, else I probly wulda keel 'auled yer mangy carcass fer changin' up yer cannon task, but ye cross'd me on a good day." Then ol' Rattlebones chuckled and responded to Bubba's threat about paybacks being a female dog in heat. "From yer lips to Davy Jones' ear, matey. We can only 'ope ye git yer chance. ARRRRGH!"
Then as Bubba ran off to deliver his own dare, a familiar voice and accent caught Stephen's attention. Turning around, he found himself face to face with the Koldovstoretz student who had dared him in the first round. The first thing he noticed was that she was speaking in Russian, but maybe because it was her native language and she was in her comfort zone, there was a much friendlier laughter and lightness in her manner. The second thing he noticed was that the laughter and lightness made her glow. She was beautiful when not scowling or smirking.
"Consider me at your service to recite the borscht recipe any time. However, I remember it in Romanian, so the translation into Russian may be a little slower, but I can definitely do it, unless you also speak Romanian, that is?" He asked the last of her with no expectation one way or the other. It would actually present no problem to translate. He just didn't want to come off as cocky.
Then he laughed outloud as she thanked him for the idea of giving out a shark ride as her next dare. "You are welcome. That I would like to see." Reverting back to English without thinking about it, he asked her name. "You got to learn mine last round, but I did not ask you yours. I thought I heard someone call you Kamila. Is that correct?"
They had been walking slowly over to the gang plank and he drew quiet. Remembering she had been dared to walk the plank, he was suppressing a smile. Something told him she was definitely strong enough to take the leap and get herself back aboard, but he didn't think she was going to like it very much. He dropped back a bit and watched in stunned silence as she stepped up on the gang plank and walked to the end and turned around and walked back. She was calling out to the person who had dared her, in that smug, mocking tone she had used when daring him. This time, however, she said something about 'if you want to win, you need to give out harder dares'.
Was it a competitive thing or a cultural misunderstanding kind of thing. Stephen wasn't sure, but the snarkiness, still incredibly unattractive in one so beautiful, and the use of the word "winning", led him to believe it was a combination of both, perhaps.
"Uhhh... Kamila," he said to her as she stepped down from the gang plank, "It may be that it's not my place to tell you, but uhhh, daring someone to 'walk the plank' means that they are to walk off the end of it and into the water. Then switching back to Russian in case it would help her, he added, "It does not mean to literally walk to the end and turn around to come back. You are being dared to get wet." And then he pantomimed stepping off while squeezing his eyes tight and holding his nose, followed by the breast stroke. When he had finished his silly antics, he smiled widely at her and cocked his head back at the gang plank.
"If you want to "win", and he did the air quotes sign when saying win, "and we can talk about the idea of winning when you come back from the drink, you are going to have to be dripping and drying on deck for a bit, I am afraid."

"I do not speak Romanian, unfortunately." Kamila answered. "I will let you know when I give someone that dare. I do not think they will except it though. Then again, I did not think you would accept the pryaniki dare and you did; so, I guess you never know."
"Yes, my name is Kamila. Kamila Yavlinsky." Kamila replied.
Wait! Her dare had been to walk off the plank. Kamila was sure she had been told to walk the plank. There was no mention of walking off the plank. Either she had misunderstood or "walk the plank" was one of those sayings that did not mean exactly what was said. "Oh, I can do that." While getting wet was not something Kamila enjoyed there was no way she was backing down from this dare.
Kamila walked across the plank this time she did not stop. One moment Kamila was on the ship the next she was in the water. Kamila swam back to the ship. Kamila climbed back up the ship. "There is no better day to be wet," Kamila declared smiling. "Is there anything else I am supposed to do?" Kamila asked.
"I wish there was a drying spell. The only spell that could be used for drying is incendio and I would never set myself on fire on purpose." Kamila said.

ㅤ──────────────────────| ── | Kim had to admit that had been fun. Singing had taken his mind off the crowds gathered around on the ship and it had made him feel more at ease. But now, he had to face the cannon again to find who his next partner would be. Unfolding the slip, he read the name of someone he hadn't met before. But he did know her name. He'd heard it before around the castle. Reena Delgado. She was the same year as him and he remembered her name from the sorting ceremony, having a mental image of the names that'd been called out back then. Kim glanced around the area, searching for a sign of the one in question. She was a dark haired girl, right? But there were many girls with dark hair on the ship, where was Reena? Kim tried to take the path that would let him interact with the least amount of people and ended up running into an unfamiliar boy. One who had just finished singing a song with some others. He only caught the end of the song but the boy's voice wasn't too bad from what he'd heard. Although, Kim had only heard the last few notes. The dark haired second year was about to move past him when the stranger called out his name. Kim raised a brow. Ah, this must be the person who had gotten his name. "You drew my name?" He asked, wanting confirmation from him. He let his eyes flicker over him. "You are?" Kim asked, waiting for the boy to give him his own name in return. The dark haired second year accepted the piece of paper handed to him and glanced over the contents. It looked like some kind of song to him. He wasn't surprised when the boy spoke of him 'fancying himself a bit of a singer' as the previous dare had forced him to sing a pirate song. But didn't exactly like the choice of words that had been used by the other male. Kim had never said he 'fancied' being a singer to anyone. Even if he'd thought about it, no one actually knew for sure as he'd never said the words out loud. Kim let his eyes flicker over the boy as he dared him. To sing a duet with him. "Mm. Sure thing." Kim said, agreeing to do whatever it was that this boy wanted him to do. As long as he was his partner, he'd do any dare for the sake of the game. The name of the song wasn't familiar to him though, Downed and Drowned, what was that? Luckily, it seemed the boy had written down the lyrics for him on a piece of paper. Kim let his eyes flicker over the lyrics and decided to make up a tune. However, when the boy put his arm around him, Kim tensed, not comfortable with physical contact with anyone. Except maybe with Sophia. But that was only because she'd kept at it for an entire year. Now, he'd grown used to her touches, so they didn't bother him as much anymore. Not that he'd admit this. Yet this stranger, who he'd just met, was daring to be boldly familiar with him in such a manner! Kim glanced over at the boy and then slipped out from under his arm, similar to how a snake might have done. Slither slither. Once he was away from the touches, Kim started to sing the lyrics written on the paper to a random tune he came up with on the fly, not sure if it was any good or not. The first verse was done. The other boy started to sing with him and then the second verse was upon him. Kim sung that one and then his partner began to sing again. It was a very nice song. At first. But as the song went on, Kim's brow furrowed. Was there was something a little 'off' about the other boy's voice, or was it just his imagination? It was around this time that he happened to see his target nearby and Kim raised a hand into the air to wave at the girl. He would have gone over to her but was still in the midst of finishing off his own dare. "Yo! Reena! Over here!" Kim called out, raising his voice as his partner's turn came to sing a verse. When Reena eventually came over, he would give her his own dare. One he'd come up with only a few minutes ago. It would be a really fun dare. Kim was kind of curious to see who Reena would select, who would girls tend to find the hottest on the ship? "I dare you to stand on top of one of those trunks over there, look at the person you think is the hottest on this ship and yell out that you like them three times. You have to also use their name, if you know it. If you don't know it, describe them by their appearance." Kim said with a smirk and then started to sing the last few verses of the song with the boy who was his duet partner. Hopefully, things would go on without a hitch. But... was it his imagination again or was the other boy's voice starting to get worse and worse? ────────────────────── ㅤ ㅤ──────────────────────

Outfit: x Vivienne watched amusedly as her target, Kamila, started to walk the plank. Of course, when the girl had walked off the plank into the water below, Vivienne couldn't see her, but the brunette still couldn't contain her laughter. It was fitting! Her dressed up as a pirate, daring someone onboard to walk the plank. The girl climbed back up the ship completely soaked. She laughed good-naturedly while looking at the girl, "That was hilarious! Great job! I'm glad you were brave enough to walk the plank, because some people would probably be boring and say no, but where's the fun in that?"
Vivienne's eyes widened comically when the girl said she wouldn't set herself on fire, "Oh! Yes, definitely don't do that," she smiled, "I guess you'll just have to wait to dry off. It is summer, so it definitely won't take that long. Anyway, what's wrong with getting a bit wet?" Vivienne shrugged, even though Kamila definitely was not just 'a bit wet'. The girl was soaked to the bone, as anyone would be after jumping into the water.
Soon enough, a new round had begun. The cannon shot another piece of paper at her and Vivienne looked at it to see Della Barfield written on the piece of paper. She looked around, even though she didn't know a Della and definitely wouldn't recognize the girl by face. "Della Barfield?" She shouted, hopefully loud enough for the girl to hear. If someone answered, Vivienne would proceed to give them a dare, "Okay! I've been chosen as the person to give you a dare, so, my dare for you is... to speak like a pirate for the rest of the round!"
There really was no better dare to give someone when you're dressed up as a pirate and you're on a pirate ship. Vivienne had to admit, she was quite enjoying the pirate theme of this truth or dare game.Vivienne is choosing DARE for the next round.

Serena squinted at the piece of paper, "OH! Sorry! Yes, I meant Lillian. I just uh, misread it..." She mumbled awkwardly as she rubbed her old people's eyes, clearly misreading things somehow! She was sixteen now, she was basically an adult so maybe she was losing her eyesight or something? Who knew! Either way, she corrected herself, apologising with a sheepish expression on her face.
With a nod, Serena listened to her answer, "I don't know that song but I like the title!" There was a lot of hope in the title from the sounds of it, though she could not say she recognised the name or would be able to identity what musical it was from.
As she heard her name, "Oh, that's me!" Serena's hand shot up in the air, almost like a teacher's pet as she gave the girl a wave to identify herself. She nodded when the girl asked if she wanted a truth but the question itself was... tricky. She paused, contemplating for a few moments. If she was really honest, she was mostly an open book. There was very few things she kept hidden and there were a lot of things that she did, regardless of the consequences.
For the most part, she knew rules were there for a reason and had no desire to break them. So this was kind of tricky. One thing came to mind though... "I'd tell people the truth. If there were absolutely no consequences to revealing a secret, I'd do it," Serena's answer was, perhaps, a little cryptic. However, it was also something she could not reveal. There were consequences if she revealed it and she had absolutely no intention of making this kind of nice day turn into something sour. Today would not be the day that ruined everything, definitely not. Not if she could help it!
The cannon served as a good distraction, luckily for her, though. It fired another piece of paper at her. Uncrumpling it, she looked at the parchment. A grin grew on her face with zero hesitation as she recognised the name, Felix Kolbeck. A truth - and a dare? What?! Why did she have to think of two? Ahhhh that was definitely hard. Oh gosh. She had to actually think of these now. Making her way over to Felix, she pondered for a few moments as she walked over, "So apparently... I have you-" She said as she waved the piece of parchment in his face, "And apparently you want both a truth and a dare... So... let's see..." She continued, explaining what was happening.
Should it be something embarrassing? They were friends so it could not be too bad but something kind of silly might be kind of funny, right? Then again, she also did not want him to end up hating her too! But this was just a bit of fun, right? And this was Felix. The same guy who apparently decided that kissing her brother was a good idea, so maybe he would be up for a silly dare - which, as long as it was very far away from her brother, she was fine with. "For your truth... If you have a crush on someone, who is it and if you don't then who do you think is the prettiest here?" She asked him, wondering if he had a crush on someone and if not, perhaps she could help wing-woman him! That would be a good idea.
"As for your dare... Let's see... How about you go up to that aforementioned person and serenade them with a song of your choice, with a full on dance or dramatic gestures that are very bold and romantic?" She offered him. If Felix named a crush who was not actually present here, she would offer that he does it within the next week if they were at camp or the first time they saw each other after, if not - and write a letter back to him reporting on the progress. Serena was definitely going to help him find a date that was not her brother. Hopefully. Ugh. He better not say her brother, she'd cringe so hard.
Serena picks dare for the next round.

Esme hadn't received a truth at all yet, which was a little confusing. It seemed like almost everyone else had gotten their questions or challenges—some being things like walking off the plank and even swimming around the ship? A quick sigh of relief escaped the girl's mouth as she realized she might have narrowly avoided having to get into the what must be freezing cold waters that surrounded them. But where was the person that had been given her name? Her question was answered not even five seconds later, when the student that she'd overheard being dared to swim around the ship yelled out her name. Really loudly.
One of her most embarrassing stories? Esme's eyes widened. What was she supposed to say for that? At least she'd have a little time to think about it, but she did have to hurry up—the older girl had already jumped overboard and begun her swim. Why did time always have to speed up when you wanted it to slow down and slow down when you wanted it to speed up? It seemed like only seconds before it was time to give a story... so she said the first one she could think of.
"Um, back when I was little, a few years ago at least, my brother told me that it was pajama day at school. One where you wore your most ridiculous pjs and like just all the most ridiculous things. I'm not entirely sure why I believed him—although he can be convincing, he's never that convincing, but for some reason I did. So I showed up to school looking absolutely crazy." Esme winced, remembering it all. "It was... bad. Really, really bad."
After a quick breath, she gave the other girl a quick half-smile. That was over with, at least. And now? Now, she had to find the next person who's name she'd gotten on the piece of paper from the cannon: Kamila Yavlinsky. A pretty name, definitely, and asking for a dare. Feeling more and more confident, Esme decided to try calling out again to find her. Her voice much louder than before, she would ask around for this person until she found her. "Hi!" she'd say with another smile, "You're Kamila, right? I'm Esme. And... for your dare..."
A split second to think, and then: "I dare you to keep one eye closed until you finish your next dare." That was interesting, right? And not all too complicated. This game was becoming lots of fun! Maybe she'd take a risk for the next round..?Esme chooses dare for next roundstamina 7 | evasion 6 | strength 4 | wisdom 7 | arc power 8 | accuracy 8 ✦ [ stats ]⠀
