"They had it coming, the students who insulted us at least deserved it," Charles retorted back, it was a habit for him. To argue with Cassie. He couldn't help himself sometimes... when topics seem petty or childish to be dropped that's when he would argue them with her and actually had fun during those times. It is complicated to be explained.
At Haley's words, Charles smiled as he spoke"Thank you, exactly why I should teach you to," then Cassie's words after his. He smiled at her. Restraining himself even if he could include their petty argument. Best friends could normally banter for hours then switch in a moment to serious topics, it was the flow of a relationship and definitely seemed to apply to the durmstrang-beauxbatons duo.
Names. The blonde held respect for both there, reasons why he corrected Cassie with Haley's name. A smile when she mentioned Haley punching someone, Charles would look over at Haley as he spoke"yeah and she's practicing her form now so the next time she can truly beat any arse in her way," a nod toward her resembling the look an elder sibling would give to a younger sibling when teaching them.
Side conversations. Charles nodded toward Cassie's reasons for questioning Xeno, listening then speaking"and you go to school with him, wouldn't it have been sensible to question him there instead of at a camp," the the next words. He knew that she was going to say boyfriends. He told Haley, he was out to mainly everyone... including his parents who believed it to be a cry for attention her next few words then the question... the blonde hadn't told anyone. Not sure what to say. But Cassie deserved the truth, she always did.
"We're not together anymore, long distance and such," Charles voice. It felt strange to the tongue to say it outloud. The teen glanced away. The words still strung a little... he halfway listened to the two conversation on meeting and names and such then heard Haley's voice of getting a heartbreak.
Turning back, eyes switching between the two as he listened. A small, half smile as he nodded toward Haley, "and with that true power is born, like what Haley demonstrated today." Then Cassie's words... he eyed her for a moment, "some flirty hogwarts bloke who I wouldn't mind shoving into the lake."

@Lucia Fox as CassieHaley was starting to get bored as Charles and Cassie had their conversation back and forth. Besides, she didn't understand why the girl was now making such a big deal about what they were doing here. Even a girl had to be able to defend herself, even if she had never needed it before, maybe she would need it someday. She would also have preferred not to tell the girl that she had broken a nose. "Yes I did!" she remarked, interrupting the conversation between the two friends for a short time, for once again they were talking as if Haley wasn't even present.
"First name Haley, last name Rose." The redhead answered the girl. "Haley without an I." The boredom slowly turned into annoyance, but she tried not to let it show. However, at Cassie's next statement, Haley would have liked to burst. "Why do you even care?" she now inquired, annoyed. Just because Haley was young didn't mean she couldn't get hurt. She wished it did, then she would have been spared some things and she didn't mean the heartbreak of Simon's breakup. "I'm twelve." Haley corrected her, rolling her eyes. "Even if it doesn't matter." She added, crossing her arms in front of her chest.
Did Haley really have to explain to her now that it didn't matter what age you were? A heart could be broken, by an adult, by a teenager and also by a child. Even though Haley was young, she was always mature for her age and she didn't like being called a stupid child. Yes it was a ridiculous heartbreak, yes it won't be the last breakup, yes it's all not that bad, but someone who has had their heart broken doesn't realise that. And certainly not at twelve. As much as Haley didn't want to be a child, she still was still and Cassie's reaction might not have been so far-fetched.
Charles words brought her back down a little, she hadn't even realised how upset she'd become at first. It wasn't Cassie's fault and Haley was kind of sorry she had reacted that way. She relaxed her posture again and leaned against a table. She was mad at Simon, no need to take it out on someone else. "We really should." Laughed Haley annoyed, grinning at the idea of Charles and her throwing Simon into the lake.
But getting back to Cassie's question, "Some flirty hogwarts bloke." She repeated Charles' words. "That sums it up pretty well. And actually, it's not worth talking about either." She didn't feel like telling this story. She wanted to put it all behind her and reliving it all wouldn't help her. But a few boxing lessons would help. Back to the subject. She turned to Charles now, "What do you say we get on with it?"

Was dating at age twelve a normal thing to do? Cassie couldn't help thinking that it was a bit silly. When you were twelve you were supposed to be making friendships, not relationships. "It matters." Did Cassie really have to explain to her that relationships were silly things to have at the age of twelve? Whatever pain the girl was feeling right now would never have existed if she'd just not dated anyone. It was the simplest solution.
Cassie couldn't be bothered to pry further into what was surely juicy Hogwarts gossip. She just leaned back on her hands, still sat on the table, watching the other two. Haley was impatient to continue her lesson, and if they were going to carry on Cassie would be here to moderate the situation. "For goodness' sake."
