ㅤ──────────────────────| ── | It was a nice afternoon. Classes had just let out for the day and Kim had gone back to his common room to grab Puffie. The pink pygmy puff was a new addition to his life, one that he hadn't expected to have. But over spring break he'd come across him almost by accident and hadn't been able to let go of him. Puffie loved him as well and was quite adorable and cute, Kim had to admit this. The two got along really well together and both understood the other, almost as if they could talk to eachother. Puffie was both mischievous and well behaved at the same time. When it came to travel, he was the embodiment of what a perfect pet should be like. All other pets should follow his example! However, when Puffie realized they'd reached their destination, that was when the puff's mischievous side came out. He stopped behaving and started rolling, bouncing and squeaking everywhere. Puffie was a very active, energetic and curious pygmy puff, that was for sure. He also loved to snuggle everyone nearby, although his favorite target was Kim himself, as Puffie seemed to love him more than anything and anyone else. It was almost as if he knew that Kim had saved him from a life spent without knowing love. The boy had grabbed his satchel, leaving his enchanted satchel back at the dorms, and Puffie had ridden inside, his pink fur peeking over the top of the satchel. It was cute. Kim knew it was Puffie's favorite way to travel with him. That was why he tended to bring his non-enchanted satchel a lot of the time, rather than the other one. He stifled a yawn, not that he was sleepy, and headed out of the castle and down towards the Great Lake. It was a popular space for students to come. But hopefully, Kim would find a section that wasn't crowded with students. Otherwise, he'd have to find a different place to spend some time at. The last thing he wanted was to be surrounded by a crowd of people. Thankfully, upon reaching his destination, Kim didn't see a lot of students in the general area. Maybe they were busy doing other things. He set his satchel down beside him and reached over to open the top of it. Puffie's head popped up and a huge ball of pink fur met his hand, which made Kim smile. The puff squeaked at him and rubbed himself against his hand, wanting to get closer to him. "Mm. I know you want to get close to me. Okay, you can hop onto my lap." He told him and the pink puff jumped out of the satchel and bounced over into his lap, settling himself there with a sigh of contentment. Kim smiled and leaned over to grab his sketchbook from the satchel, along with a quill and inkwell. The purple haired boy set them down and took a chocolate frog box out. Now to have a quick snack. He opened it, quickly biting off the head of the frog before it had a chance to jump, and set the empty box down. Puffie squeaked, looking up at him, his beady eyes staring up into his own eyes. Kim nodded. "Alright, I know. I'll get you a snack too." He told him and rummaged in the satchel to find the box of pygmy treats. Taking one out, he put the box back into the satchel and placed the treat down in front of Puffie, who instantly shot his tongue out and consumed the treat. Munching happily on it, the puff relished the food item as Kim picked up the inkwell and placed it inside the empty box. Picking up the sketchpad, he placed it over his lap above Puffie's head, hiding him. Anyone passing nearby would not see Puffie at all, as the sketchbook was covering the area. Kim glanced around, looking for some sign that Draven would show up to meet him. After all, he'd given him a note in class earlier telling him that they would be seeing eachother here after classes. But he didn't see him at all, maybe he wasn't going to show up. A sigh escaped his lips. He'd intentionally brought Puffie to help cheer Draven up a little. Kim decided he'd sketch for awhile and hope his 'friend' would eventually show up. But if he didn't, he'd just have fun with his Puffie. After all, it wouldn't be a total waste of time. He could draw, play with Puffie and leave for dinner. Afterward, he'd do some homework and write a letter to Bailey. With this in mind, Kim started to draw the landscape around him, sketching a basic outline of the area. The purple haired boy's skill with a quill was unrivaled and he was just as good as a professional, although his own opinion of his talent was modest. Kim didn't think he was that good and believed although he was decent, he wasn't at a professional level. Even if he was, he had no intention of making that into his career. Becoming a skilled, powerful duelist was what he had in mind, to please his parents, namely his father. A duelist was important in society, right? Maybe he'd be happy with this as an alternative. As Kim would never become a quidditch player in his lifetime. ────────────────────── ㅤ ㅤ──────────────────────

Classes were over for the day, the weather was nice and many people would be seen outside at this hour. Winter would smile and decide she would go out as well, after changing out of school wardrobe of course. She would return to the dorms to change and grab a few snacks. Reaching into her pillowcase she pulled out a few blood pops and awoke her furry friend from the small bed she had made him on the windowsill. She had also grabbed a snack for her pet, placing the snacks for the two in different pockets of her overalls to separate them. "Alrighty koja, we're good to go!" she spoke softly as she threw her cloak on, pulling the hood over her head to block the sun from her face so she wouldn't be affected, the only real issue of being a dhampir.
Koja though not exactly used to his human companion yet, loved the attention and being close to Winter. He would as always climb up to her shoulder, perching there as she walked. She had adopted him not very long ago and yet still he feels like family, as have all her past pets. However, unlike the rest of Winters' pets koja seemed to enjoy being a bursting ball of energy, he was constantly running around and well, annoying the rest of the people in the dorms, most likely in hopes to play with their pets. He could only be described as a crazy little furry noodle. Winter assumed ferrets were more laid back, only energetic when playing or something along those lines, oh how koja proved that so so wrong.
Winter had visited the courtyard, which was way too crowded for her, that being said she thought of where else she could go, the great lake is the next best option. To her liking, there weren't many people around. The white hair wonder, Winter Wolfhartz, is known to be quite shy yet awfully kind to all she meets. What a turtle she was, so slow to open up and always wanting to hide in the comfort of her shell. Thankfully as the school had gone on and time passed the help of her friends and even strangers around her helped to break her shy habit! She still wasn't the best with large groups but she could now talk one on one with little to no stuttering, big changes, and oh what good it had done for her.
She continued to walk around until she found a nice place to sit. All was well, except for the fact that the moment she had settled down she had noticed something was off...something- no someone was missing! "H-huh?! koja?" she frantically looked around, her eyes widening in shock. She was sure he wouldn't just run away, he would never! She got to her feet and what would you know, a squirmy little noodle was on the move, he was headed straight towards some fellow student who seemed to just be drawing peacefully, nothing bothering him. "koja- no leave him alone!" she sighed before rushing to get to him before he could disturb the purple-haired boy.
By the time Winter would even catch up with her pet it had been too late, koja would have crawled up the boy's leg, squeezing himself underneath the book the student had been drawing in. Winter covered her mouth and found herself panicking slightly. "I-i am so sorry- I don't know what has gotten into him... i-ill leaves as soon as I collect my pet. Again I'm very sorry!" she had been so embarrassed by her furry companion's actions that she didn't know what to do other than to apologize.
The entire time his owner was trying to sort things out, koja was just having the time of his life as he would attempt to play with the pygmy puff that had been in the boy's lap.

ㅤ──────────────────────| ── | Kim had been busy drawing on his own. He was off in his own little world and because Koja was not a cat, Kim's survival instincts did not kick in. The cute ferret ran over, crawled up over his leg and squeezed himself into the small area between the sketchbook and Puffie. The puff let out an indignant squeak and hopped up and down in the small enclosed space. Kim looked down and saw an unfamiliar animal there and he blinked. Well, that was something you didn't see everyday. A cute ferret stared up at him. A faint smirk came to his lips as he lowered his hand to stroke Koja lightly, giving him some nice scratches. Puffie started to get jealous and Kim gave him some as well. And then an unfamiliar voice was heard. He glanced up to see a girl he didn't recognize approach him. She must be the owner of the ferret. Puffie squeaked at Koja, not pleased that Koja had gotten some nice scratches from Kim. Even though he'd gotten them too, it had been after Koja had gotten them. Kim gave a faint smile to Winter. "It's fine. I like animals. As long as they aren't cats." He told her and let his blue eyes flicker over the girl for a moment. "Kim Aoki. You are?" Kim asked, waiting to hear what her name was. Wait, she actually looked kind of familiar, now that he was seeing her up close. She'd been sorted the same time he'd been sorted. What had her name been? Unlike most, Kim had a partial photographic memory, so he remembered things easily. It had started with a W right? He thought for a bit longer, hang on her name had been relating to the seasons right? Winter! That was what it had been, right? All that remained was for her to confirm this! ────────────────────── ㅤ ㅤ──────────────────────
actions: Kim admires the cute ferret and seems to recognize Winter after seeing her up close. notes: From now on, Kim will refer to himself as Kim Aoki and won't answer to those who call him 'Sato'. Of course, if they don't know about his new last name, he'll give them a chance by telling them about the change first. If your character specifically only calls people by their last names, please call him Aoki. ------------------------------ tags: @Winter Wolfhartz word count 314 coded by draven mirador |
