A Non-Suspicious Request (Probably) PV Howard White Fin

Dee nodded thoughtfully. It was true, she was planning to write about the topic - and more than one article, too, if things were going as she expected. Both to keep the students' attention on the topic, and because there was just so much to write about. Giving an overview over their past, questioning the Prophet's portrayal, talking about those affected in one way or another, spotlighting their current projects with the Ministry... and whatever she managed to find out along the way.

"No more trials sounds good to me," she shot back, but she was grinning. "I like that, though. Something with more interaction, maybe? It doesn't have to be super formal or serious... maybe just a hangout with mixed race students. Or some games or something. We could ask Quinn if he'd be interested, too... and maybe Hugh Lowe, the part-giant from my year? Not sure who else, though." There was another student who she suspected might also have some non-human blood, but it was a theory. She could approach him in private, though. "Do you know anyone else we could recruit?"

Her thoughts were flying ahead at Howard's suggestions. She liked the idea of making it a celebration, something happy and colourful. The Trials' approach to the topic had been too serious and dark, more dividing than uniting. "Could make it an errand, maybe..." she considered, then shook her head. "No, I'm not sure bribing people into participating by offering rewards would convey the right idea. A celebration though, I like that. I'll get someone to take pictures, and write an article about it. That's a really good idea."

It would seem that the grins were infectious as they both joked of trials. Though it was a simple gesture it still felt nice to have all of that behind them. For a while it had been an embarrassment and left a feeling of failure linked to a topic he was actually quite passionate about. Fortunately for him, Howard had now made another friend determined to help the cause.

"Yeah, something casual." He agreed that a hang out or just some fun games could be an easy way for people to interact with mixed raced students. "I'd definitely invite Quinn and it'd be great to have Hugh come along too. I know there are some part-veelas here, some werewolves too. It'd be great to have some metamophmagus and half goblins come along too." The idea of having each half race and some of the special talented people represented sounded really nice. "I could start reaching out if you're serious about putting something together." Howard offered.

"An errand might not be a terrible idea. I know it goes against the free will by adding monetary gain to it, but maybe it would entice people that were nervous about it all. Maybe even get a few people who were anti half breed to come along. Might just change a few minds." He offered with a shrug. Either way he was getting excited about it all, but as a cloud shifted Howard would notice the sun had shifted quite a bit in the sky. Times flies when your plotting generational change!! "Alright, Dee. Seriously, thank you for pulling me aside today. I really appreciate it, but I gotta run. I'll start writing some owls and talking to people. Hit me up whenever!" He said with a smile and a wave goodbye.

Thoughtfully, Dee spun her pencil around her fingers. The more she thought about it, the more she liked the idea of a casual hangout with mixed race students. Something fun and easy, that would give people the opportunity to get to know them as they were - as normal kids - instead of some terrifying inhuman being like the Prophet tried to portray them.

She nodded slowly. "That would be pretty cool, having many different races there," she agreed. Personally, she didn't know many, or at least wasn't aware if she did. There was Howard, of course, who was somewhat infamous. For Quinn it was hard to hide his heritage. There were a few other students Dee had suspicions about... But nothing confirmed, and she didn't have the impression they were as open with their unconventional traits as Howard was. Still, didn't hurt to ask. "That would be great!" Dee chirped back. "I can ask around, too, but you probably have more connections."

Howard didn't seem to share her concerns about adding incentives to participate by making it an errand. "You might be right," she conceded. "I'll think about it." When he mentioned having to go, she nodded and gave him another grin. "Pleasure's all mine! I'll stop by again so we can plan out more details." She certainly had a lot to think about for the moment - and enough material to write three articles, at the very least.
