Monica made her way through the campgrounds, passing all sorts of tents, and various people chatting, laughing. Excitement was in the air as the beginning of camp was finally here. It was quite a toss up to sign up for summer camp. Having not that many connections during her first year, and what little connection she had either being already in a full tent, or not attending camp at all, Monica was worried she wouldn't have anyone to hang out with this summer.
But perhaps it was fate, or just a stroke of pure madness, she took the plunge and signed herself up.
Finally arriving at her tent, the place where the next month of her life would be spent, she could feel her nerves coursing through her body. Lingering outside of the tent, her backpack resting off her shoulder, taking a moment to breathe.
"Okay, this is going to be great, new friends, fun times, what could go wrong?" Almost as if on perfect cue, Kiwi emerged from Monica's hood, licking her check as if to say, 'I am here for you.'
Giving her little rat a well deserved, and frankly needed pet, Monica drew back the flaps of the tent and entered.
It was incredible! Unlike anything Monica had ever seen before, this wasn't a tent, it was like a whole apartment! So much bigger on the inside!
The colour theme blended well together, with deep plum purples accenting against the greys. Along the back side of the space the bunks were set up, 3 sets. Each bunk had their own hand crafted side tales, made out of cedar wood, the tops remained the shape of the tree's trunk, while the legs were a solid bronze piece. Every table had its own drawer, and an under-shelf for storing books or bags.
The beds themselves were made out of the same sort of wood as the side tables, with hand carved posts that twisted upward. The support beams were arched, and curled into a spiral making it look like the top bunk was just perfectly carved into the bottom bunk, rather than seeming like 2 different pieces. Each bed had matching blanket sets, and mountains of pillows for every girl, with names carved onto the foot end of the bed frame.
Just off to the right of the entrance was a seating area, a large couch that had 2 corners, making it one big half square, with the back facing the bunk area. The couch itself was an elegant grey, with complementary purple through pillows nicely organized in each corner. Some pillows were solid purple, while some had elements of gold striped on them, as if a pain brush drew a path on the pillows surface for the gold to follow.
Along the wall was a fire place with deep grey soft stone bricks, along with a mantel piece with golden stands that held ivy plants that woven its branches around.
In the centre of the seating area was an ottoman matching the design of the couch, but in purple rather than grey. It was made up of 6 smaller pieces that when pulled away, made their own little stool like chairs.
To the left was a small corner with a lamp and some chairs, accompanied by bookshelves, creating a cozy reading corner. The chairs were this soft purple material, with cedar wooden legs. the seats were curved inward, making it an option to sit up straight, or allow yourself to be swallowed by it. On the floor was a beautiful rug, with faux fur that was a blend of gold purple and grey, and was the softest material Monica had ever felt before.
Just in behind that reading area, was a half wall that seemed to be a dedicated area for pets. Climbing towers that let up to shelves on the wall, and small hammock and tiny chairs. with various strings dangling off of platforms, and rope bridges connecting other platforms. All of it surrounding a small structure that had cubbies for each pet, along with names on top of it. Monica scratched Kiwi's head, "Looks like you can have your own space too!"
At the centre of the tent hung these beautiful shimmering fair lights. They started on this low hanging chain and spread out to each corner of the room. connecting to other clusters of lights that hung down at each section and illuminating the space in this peaceful sort of way.
Bellow the main set of lights, the room sunk down one step, and there was a nice table with six chairs set around it. It was a glass table with cedar wood framing it. The legs were carved as if they were a cluster of tree trunks stuck together, much like the twisting trunk of a money tree. Along the legs were various Amethyst stones incorporated in the design.
Monica made her way over to her bed, beginning to unpack and settle herself into her new home for the month. Excitedly ready to meet her other tent mates!

Bea couldn't wait for camp! She had been very enthusiastic all of June about how fun the camp would be and how many great memories she would make. And even better, she would be with her best friend! They'd spent a week together at Bea's family farm in Scotland, but this was even better. She had made sure to sign up to the same tent as Hilda, having already discussed it during her stay. Bea just hoped the tent wouldn't be too full when she got here.
Carrying her things across the busy, student packed lawn, Bea couldn't help but be amazed. Most of the tents looked ordinary, decorated with signs on the outside to tell which tent they were. Surely it's not just a normal cabin? There's no way it could fit all of us. To be honest, that went with the quidditch stadium as well. How were they supposed to fit all of the Hogwarts students plus others? Magic. Bea shook her head in wonder. Looking back at the map handed to her by the camp organizers, she came to her assigned tent. It looked just like the others. Plain and unassuming on the outside. But on the inside.... Bea stared in wonder. Seriously, how did all of this fit inside the tent! There were purple and grey accents across the entire inside. A fireplace and cozy nook, beds and pillows assualted her. The poor girl didn't know where to look first!
The one thing that did stand out in the room was that there was another girl there. She'd never met her by the looks of things, but then again, Bea hadn't met a lot of people last year. One reason she was even more thankful her stars had aligned and she had become friends with Hilda. Speaking of which, she carefully patted her pocket, making sure that her friends present was still safe.
Putting her bags down near the table and chairs just inside the tent, Bea bit her lip. Surely this girl would be friendly. She picked up her new bunny Eos from her confines (a transport cage really) and went over to the girl, hoping that they would get along as the first two to arrive. The girl had seemed to unpack her things on one of the beds, claiming it for herself. It was at that precise moment Beatrice noticed that all the beds had each individuals name written along the foot of the bed. At least there wouldn't be a fight to which one they all got. She cleared her throat, remembering her mother's instructions of using English instead of Scots. "Hi! A'm Beatrice." She winced at the slight slip of Scots in her sentence. "And this is Eos, my pet." She hefted Eos in her arm, drawing attention to the golden rabbit lazing in her arms. "Nice ta meet ye." Well, she mused, her introduction could have gone worse.

Outfit: x Adelaide was quite excited for summer camp. She had woken up early that day and had took one of the Ministry portkeys to the stadium with her sister after her parents had bid them goodbye. Admittedly, she hadn't thought much of what tent she would be staying in, and she hadn't thought to send a letter to any of her friends to see if they could share a tent. She had mainly focused on herself the entirety of July. So hopefully, the tent she had chosen would house at least a few people she knew.
Walking through the campgrounds with her bags full of everything she'd need for a month, Nina walking beside her (she had started to trust the kitty to walk beside her without wandering off), she scanned each tent in search for the one she was going to be residing in. Once she finally found her tent, she barely had time to catch her breath before Nina had already ran in. The blonde entered swiftly after, spotting two of her tentmates who had already arrived. The tent was gorgeous, the color theme purple and grey. Nina ran immediately to the pet area, that seemed to be behind a reading nook. Adelaide would likely spend a lot of her time there, she mused, when she wasn't outside.
"Hello," she said to the two, giving each of them a smile, "I'm Adelaide Barlowe," she recognized one of them, Monica - if she recalled her name correctly - she knew briefly from June's party and George's detention. The other girl she didn't know. "Oh, that's Nina," she said, pointing to her kitty who was hanging around the pet area. She made her way over to her bunk and set her bags down. "Are we all going to the BBQ tonight?" She asked.

Two hesitant steps were taken in the direction of the tent, her spotless white shoes not best suited for the grassy underground, an enchanted backpack with most of her clothing covering her back and her left hand clutched to a bag filled with drawing supplies. First meetings were far from Elizaveta's favourite thing and the blonde wished she could just skip ahead in time to avoid the uncomfortable, awkward moment. After a few deep breaths, she quietly peeked inside, only the top of her head and a couple of strands of blond hair visible as her green eyes scanned the tent. A total of three girls were already inside the tent, their presence paired with friendly introductions, none of them looking threatening which helped to calm down Eliza's nerves.
The Russian girl may not have been pleased to see that there were already students in the tent, but the glimpse she had gotten from the interior made her excited to take a better look. The purple from the name of the tent had also been used within it and reminded the young girl of her room at home which was pink and purple-themed. Of course, the tent wasn't nearly as luxurious as her room and she would have to survive with less than a sixth of her dress collection but at least there was something familiar in the great unknown.
Using her right hand to hold back a flap, Eliza stepped into the tent, her lips formed in a nervous little smile directed towards her tentmates. "Hi," she greeted, talking too short to hear her accent. Her eyes wandered around the room, avoiding eye contact with the girls, and she noticed some bags standing near the table to which soon Eliza's bags would be added by the girl. Unsure of what to do next, she started walking slowly around the tent, hands brushing over almost every piece of furniture, and she stopped as she entered the pet area where an adorable kitty was playing.
The blonde had entered the tent too late to hear the name of the pet but she instantly fell in love and all her attention went to the little creature. Animals were easier to deal with than humans, according to Eliza, as people had all these little rules and required her to talk about things she didn't even want to talk about. The little cat with perfect little paws and fluffy fur was someone she would feel a lot more comfortable with for now. Making soft noises to get the pet's attention, she gracefully went down to her knees as she extended her hand so the little creature knew she wanted to pet her and meant no harm. "Hello little cat, aren't you adorable?" she spoke the Russian words in a high pitched voice. If any of the girls would try to interact with her, Eliza would reply politely but for now, her focus lay on befriending the white cat.

Hi! Slight OOC, I'm hopefully going to make one of those banners like yall have with the pictures and your name I just am not entirely sure how yet and I want to get this post out for you! I will add it asap tho! Also, Loren uses all pronouns : ) I usually try to stick to they/them but I'll add a couple she/hers in there and every once and a while a he/him if it feels right.
The morning sun shone proudly overhead as Loren packed their things neatly into two bags for summer camp. One bag was for clothes, every pair of pants and shirt and jacket carefully selected as the most comfortable and well loved. The other bag was for things: paper and colored pencils, rubber bands, notebooks and sunglasses and hats and acorns and water bottles with little images of dragons dancing around the outside. Everything with a place went first, big things that were easily organized, followed by everything else thrown on top or in little nooks and crannies to save space.
Later then, after checking to make sure all the necessities were there, the carefully packed bags were carried over by Loren's father to the family's car; a small 4 door sedan that they all lovingly called "The Mopster". Loren's family drove the odd hour and a half to London, and said goodbye to her at the gate to the quidditch stadium where she would be spending the next month or so at summer camp.
Loren then followed a map that they had been given, and wandered around the stadium until they came upon a lovely purple and grey tent with a small sign that read Summer Lights posted on the outside. Feeling a familiar rush of excitement, she stepped inside into a beautifully decorated space with ornate wooden carved furniture and purple geode decorations and several small creatures and.. and people. Not yet quite noticed, they appreciated the moment to glance around and see who was all here. First, a preppy young blonde girl playing on the floor with an exceptionally fluffy kitten. Then another exceptionally well dressed blonde girl, standing somehow both tall and casual by the bunk beds. Then there was a small, curly haired girl holding a beautifully golden rabbit. Loren was starting to feel a little out of place in their worn jeans and t-shirt and decidedly uncombed hair until they saw the familiar face of Monica Evans, a spunky dark haired girl they had met not long ago who was the whole reason they were staying in this tent in the first place. Latching onto the person of most familiarity, Loren hiked up their bags once more and made their way into the tent towards Monica and the other girls.

Seren quietly walked into the tent she had been assigned to, with her young cat Electra draped across her shoulders, who she was softly whispering to. "I do hope we get along with our tentmates, Electra." She was running her fingers along the ten month old cat's ears, her eyes scanning the room. She was carrying a bag with all of her things, which looked a little heavy for her, but she was managing.
She smiled shyly at everyone, as she examined who was in the tent already, and how things were set up. She noticed her name on a bottom bunk, and headed towards it, setting her bag carefully down besides it. Once she had done so, she turned back towards the center of the tent, and the other girls within it. "I am Seren Yong, and this is Electra. It is nice to meet you all."
She recognized one or two people. One was a fellow Ravenclaw, in her year, but Seren had not interacted with her. There was also a girl from Slytherin Seren thought was familiar looking. Perhaps both of these had been at the horridly awkward detention for that George boy she had been a part if? If so, she wondered if any of them still found themselves horrified, thinking about it.
She paused, looked like she wanted to say something more, but then closed her mouth, her expression one of slightly nervous uncertainty, and instead, shyly sat down on the edge of her own bed.

Unsure of how much time had passed before other arrived. Monica was just lost in unpacking, and setting up her space for the summer. Kiwi had a blast jumping from shoulder to bed, and scurrying across the floor, explore the pet corner as well.
"Better get all that energy out now before others arrive!" Monica joked with the little rodent.
Soon enough, the tent doors parted, and a new presence entered the space. She was a girl Monica had seen before, but never had the chance to meet.
She let the girl take her time, absorbing the atmosphere of the tent. "Kiwi! Come." Monica spoke in a hushed tone, not wanting to disturb the other girl as she explored around. Kiwi came hoping up to Monica, climbing her robe and re-claiming her space on Monica's shoulder.
It was so exciting! The first to arrive! Monica could hardly wait, this was going to be such a fun time to make some deep friendships with people, something she found rather challenging during her first year. It was really nice to know there was at least one person in her tent that also went to Hogwarts.
Monica glanced out of the corner of her eye, as the girl set down her bags, and took out a bunny from a transport cage, "Kiwi, a friend for you to have." She whispered in the small animals ear.
The girl looked up, seeming a bit nervous, "Hi! A'm Beatrice. And this is Eos, my pet. Nice ta meet ye." A bit of an accent Monica detected. Oh what fun!
"Hi, super nice to meet you Beatrice! And Eos." Monica was grinning ear to ear, the girl seemed so sweet and pleasant, hopefully they would connect well.
"I'm Monica, and this..." Kiwi had resorted to hiding in Monica's long black hair, not out of shyness, but seeking a nap. All the jumping around took its tole on the small creature. Monica fished around, and parted her hair to reveal Kiwi curled up on her shoulder.
"This is Kiwi, she has expended her energy already so it seems." She stroked Kiwi's head, "Hey, you have to perk up, not time to sleep yet."
Kiwi opened her eyes, and let out a yawn, stretching her paws as far out as they could reach.
Just as conversation was starting with Beatrice, the tent opened again, and their next tent mate entered. It was Adelaide, Monica recognized her both from June's party, and the study group that shall not be named. Though she didn't know Adelaide super well, it was really nice to see a familiar face.
"Adelaide! Welcome! So great to have you here!" Following Adelaide's point to the kitty at the pet area, "Oh and hello Nina! Wow already that is 3 for 3 with having pets, I love it!"
Adelaide made her way over to the bunk area, joining Monica and Beatrice, "Are we all going to the BBQ tonight?"
Monica let herself lean against the bed post, "Yeah! I was planning on it! Do we all want to go together?"
While conversations continued, another girl entered the tent. Monica had never seen her before. She entered the space rather quietly, and offered a quick, "Hi" than turning to explore the tent, "Hi, Nice to meet you." Monica said after the new tent Mate,"What's your name? Are you from Hogwarts?"
The girl made her way over to the pet area, quickly making friends with Nina, Speaking in another language. "Wow that is so cool! Wonder what language that is?" Monica pondered to herself, she hadn't had a lot of exposer to other languages before, this could indicate a student from another magic school?
Shortly after the new arrival walked In Loren! Monica could hardly keep in her excitement! Though she had only a short meeting with Loren, it was none the less impactful, after all Loren was the person to save Kiwi from being lost in a sea of people down Diagon Alley.
"Loren! So glad you could make it! This is Beatrice, and Adelaide!" Monica kept her gaze on the girls, making sure she had introduced them correctly. "Feel free to put down your bags anywhere, we are all just getting to know each other at the moment, and talking about the BBQ tonight. You wanna come with?" Kiwi, at this point, had woken up enough to inspect the others in the tent, recognizing Loren, and jumping over to their should for a hello kiss. "Seems like Kiwi remembers you well."
While everyone was talking and getting to know each other, another person entered the tent, she was a familiar face to Monica, though not quite sure from where.
"I am Seren Yong, and this is Electra. It is nice to meet you all." She walked in, and took her spot on the edge of her bed.
"Welcome Seren! You go to Hogwarts right? I am certain I have seen you before. Are you wanting to go to the BBQ? I think we are planning on going together?" Monica glanced around to get confirmation from the others in the tent."Also welcome to Electra as well! We are just a pet friendly tent."
Monica stood, listen to others as they talked. She started thinking of fun ways for everyone to get to know each other a little bit, and it came to her, one of the games she used to always play at youth events back home, Monica spoke up, getting everyone's attention, "An idea I had, if you guys are up for it of course, is playing a little get to know you game? To break the ice, in a sense. It is call, never have I ever. In short, one person stands in the centre, while the rest of us sit in chairs in a circle. The person in the middle has to say, 'never have I ever...' followed by something they have never done before. For those in the circle that have done that thing, have to stand up, and try to sit in another chair, all while the person in the centre tries to claim a chair themselves. Who ever is left without a chair, is now the new person in the centre to say, 'never have I ever...' We could do it before the BBQ or after, whatever you guys would rather do! I am super curious to get to know everyone!"

Beatrice quickly realised, as the tent filled with people that she knew less and less people. Only Hilda. Her Ma had said this would be good for her, being away for the Summer and meeting new people. But her whole tent?! And her only friend not being in attendance right now?! No, just no. Hoping to avoid showing the insecurities fluttering inside, she hugged Eos tighter to her chest. She was usually the bubbly type, but this many people in an enclosed space was where she drew her limit. She smiled and laughed a bit at Monica and her pet. She smiled and nodded as most of the girls introduced themselves and their pets. A few she recognised as housemates from Hogwarts. One seemed to be from the international schools from her accent. Which in all honesty was so cool! "Nice ta meet ye all!"
Bea took a moment to collect herself before replying to both Monica and Adelaide. She turned to Monica first. "A'd like to play. It would be fun to get to know each other, especially before the barbeque!" She turned to look at Adelaide and grinned. "A'd have to leave Eos here, but that castle looks amazing, so she shouldn't get into too much trouble." At that she looked at the rabbit sitting serenely in her arms, remembering how they had pet at the pet shop in Diagon Alley. Kickboxing seemed to be Eos' favourite pastime. Hopefully it didn't extend into sparring with the other girls pets.

Outfit: x A new, unfamiliar girl arrived shortly after Adelaide. She appeared to be very shy, not even bothering to introduce herself as she entered. She only said a short hello, to which Adelaide nodded in acknowledgement, and made her way over to the pet area where Nina was currently playing. Adelaide smiled as the girl went down on her knees to play with her cat. Adelaide didn't mind, since Nina was always hungry for attention and the little kitty loved when people cooed at her. Nina meowed in content, making her way over to the girl who had her hand extended towards the kitty.
Adelaide decided best not to go introduce herself to the girl just yet, since she seemed pretty content in playing with her kitty. She turned her attention away from the cute scene as someone else arrived in the tent. Also an unfamiliar face to her, but she still smiled gently at the new arrival, Monica doing the introductions for them, "Nice to meet you, Loren."
Yet again, another person entered the tent. She vaguely recognized the girl, so she guessed that she was a Ravenclaw too. At least she had introduced herself, "Nice to meet you, Seren. I'm Adelaide, and yes, I'm pretty sure we're all planning on going to the BBQ together." At least, Monica had agreed to the idea when Adelaide suggested it, but she wasn't sure how willing the other tent members would be, especially the one over in the pet area, who seemed to like the company of pets more than people. Adelaide couldn't exactly blame her, to be honest. The blonde was on most days an introvert too, though she didn't overly mind meeting new people.
The blonde turned to face Monica as she suggested a game they could play, never have I ever. It did sound quite fun to play, and it would definitely be a great way to break the ice and awkwardness that slightly lingered in the tent since they were all just settling in. "Yeah, I'm up for that, it'd be fun," Adelaide agreed, then turned to Beatrice and laughed, "oh definitely, it does look amazing. Nina seems to be having a lot of fun over there, especially when she's currently being pampered," she gestured with her head over to the pet area. Quite a lot of them had pets, it seemed; Monica with her pet rat Kiwi, Beatrice with her bunny Eos, Seren with her cat Electra and Adelaide with her own kitty. At least there would be little to no dull moments in this tent with all the pets hanging around. "So, who wants to be the first person to say a never have I ever?"

Only when one of the girls asked her name, did she realize she hadn't introduced herself yet and immediately the disappointed face her mother would pull if she heard about this popped into her mind. "It is nice to meet you too," she said as she made her way over to the three girls before extending her hand towards the dark-haired girl that had spoken to her for a handshake. "I am Elizaveta Mikhailov and I am from Durmstrang," she introduced herself, falling back on the formalities her parents had drilled her and her brothers in from a very young age. Exploring the room was something she preferred over having a conversation with the others, so it didn't take long for her to leave the 3 girls to continue her exploration. After offering a handshake to both Beatrice and Adelaide, she would leave the group and wander a bit more through the room.
The kitten meowed adorably as it took a few steps in Eliza's direction, just enough for her to pat the young white cat. As her hand gently brushed the kitten, she could feel her nerves winding down a bit and felt a lot more comfortable in the new place. The animal didn't seem to care that her English wasn't great nor did it care about her being socially awkward, she just wanted attention which the blonde was more than happy to give to her.
Being busy playing with the little cat, Elizaveta hadn't noticed two other girls entering the tent until she heard the mention of more pets and looked up to the group at the bunks. One girl seemed to be holding a bunny in her arms and the other had a cat, both lovely pets, which made the Russian girl consider going over to the group of girls. When the girl that had asked for her name spoke up talking about some kind of game, Eliza picked up Nina and made her way over to the group not wanting to leave the little kitten behind but also wanting to be a part of the group and the play the game she had never heard about.
After checking which bunk belonged to her, still carrying the cat like a baby, the blonde learned that the top bunk belonged to her, which made her unable to sit on her bed. She didn't want to climb up to her bed with the white fluffy cat in her arms and have the chance for the little creature to fall. "May I sit next to you?" she asked one of the girls that had last entered the tent and sat on the bed under her own Seren. While the game was explained, Eliza quietly listened sometimes playing with the little angel in her arms.
Before helping the other girls with setting the chairs in a circle, she gently booped the white cat on her nose, "boop!" and placed the creature on the ground. When 5 chairs were put in a circle, Eliza would offer to be the one to start the game and stand in the middle. "Never have I been to camp before now" she said, unaware that she had slightly altered the phrase.
