Letter to Far Away Closed

The sound of Rheolin's footsteps bounced off the stone walls. Her first trip to the owlery raised an important question: how would she send a letter to her sister?

Two years ago, Rory Bane was a regular student at Hogwarts. She was in Ravenclaw, and it suited her perfectly. Rory was a prodigy. She excelled in every class, and even took private lessons from select teachers, simply because the Advanced classes weren't even engaging to her. Thus, when she was offered a job opportunity in America, Ilvermorny, a wizarding school in the United States, accepted her into what is considered the Ravenclaw equivalent. The house of the Horned Snake sounded too much like Slytherin for Rheolin's taste, but as the house of scholars, Rory thrived as well as she had in Hogwarts.

Rheolin let out a quiet sigh, watching the owls fly in and out. It seemed obvious to her that she couldn't fly an owl oversea. She resigned to writing a letter to give to her parents, who would then find a way - hopefully.
To Mom and Dad,

I hoped I could send a letter to Rory, but I think I'll have to send it to you first. Please try to find a way to get it to her! I really do miss her.
Dear Rory,

I wonder how things are going over in the USA. I've heard that working as an Obliviator is hard work. I hope you're doing well!

I was sorted into Hufflepuff yesterday. The Sorting Hat mentioned you! It said you had some of the most potential he had ever seen in a witch. It told me I could be great too, but not in the same way. I suppose it meant I could make the best friends here in Hufflepuff, but either way, it was nice to hear that I have potential too.

With lots of love,
Rheolin

I sometimes use quotes for letters. Behind the screen I'm an American with a passion for reading. I'm in the process of writing a dystopian novel, and a Hogwarts CYOA.
