The Good Deed of the Day
When Alan started telling them about what really happened Clair was filled with sympathy, the poor boy was trying to help his housemates, and by the sounds of it, he had only been a first year. What a horrible way to start your life at Hogwarts! The First year wished she could do more, but it seemed to be getting out of hand, Poor Opeila, all this chaos to deal with.
Clair sighed, things were going in a direction she did not want them to go, like what the hell? Why was everyone being mean?
She had had enough, standing up she looked at George, whether he heard her or not she did not know, but she walked a little closer to him.
"George, Thank you for teaching us. I do really hope I can meet you again. I think I must be going now, have a Good day.'' she said politely, "Thank you for inviting me to this Miss Winters, but I think I must be going now." She said, and then with that she picked up all her things, nodded to George and the Prefects and left the classroom.
As she left she wondered if it had been the right thing to do, leaving the room had seemed smart at the moment, but now it seemed like she was running away from it all.

The Good Deed of the Day
It could've been a minute or an hour for all Bubba knew when he finally started to come back to the room. He had no idea what was going on now, the girl named June that had asked the question of George had gone but left all her stuff. Bubba vaguely remembered saying something to her but he couldn't remember what. He just couldn't believe someone having the audacity to say something like that, especially when you know it wasn't true. The whole story had reopened old wounds that he never wished to think about again. He started to look around the room and saw his fellow Ravenclaw, Clair get up and walk out. It looked like the detention - study session - whatever it was had wound up being short but none too sweet. He really wished George could've just flipped him and that last ten minutes hadn't happened at all.
He looked over to where George, Alan, and Opelia were standing. He wasn't sure but he was fairly certain that he had just seen Opelia telling George he could go. Bubba decided he wanted to wait, he was still interested in being flipped but he really wanted to talk to George about what happened. He felt like he had finally found someone he could maybe talk to about it. He packed up his books and parchment and set his bag on the desk, but didn't leave.

The Good Deed of the Day
George remained posted at the head of the classroom, petrified in his neutral position. There were no more tears coming now - he looked like a scarecrow, numb to the world, stuffed with nothing other than utter embarrassment and mortification. At least a few of the students were still interested in learning, or at lest interested in pushing past the pure awkwardness of this moment. If George had not been so thoroughly devastated, he would be overjoyed at the opportunity for first years to practice flipendo on him.
Adelaide asked about the mending charm. George stared daggers at her, his eye twitching, but restrained himself. Surely, she didn't know. The girl had come at him like a miniature Ivy before, telling him to wise up. His grip on his wand shifted again. She didn't understand. It was okay.
Vale's response to the shock was brazen enough to get a sputtered laugh out of George. Such misery and terror! The horrible Hufflepuff himself. That was George. And then she suddenly called for democracy in the class room. This little Slytherin would be one to watch. Driven, destructive, and passionate about democracy.
Clair's was the first question to prompt a verbal response. "Oh, uh... I would say offense. The best defense is a good offense. Plus, if you knock someone off their broom, they're not a threat to you for a while." At this point in time, George had not yet become a broom racer, though he had considered the theory somewhat. He shrugged to indicate his lack of expertise on the subject. "That's my opinion."
Then, Alan spoke. And George looked livid. It was not his story to tell, but still, Alan was standing up front with George presenting his story like it was nightmare show-and-tell. But no matter how angry he got, he could not bring himself to step in, both out of fear of further embarrassment... and the fact that he could not really get angry at Alan. Even if he was as naive as Jake, he was less annoying, somehow. And significantly more handsome.
"It was not heroic," George muttered, narrowing his eyes at Alan for saying it, and then at June for agreeing. Clearly, it was the icy coldness of his gaze that drove her to run off and abandon her books in the detention. Another student followed. Well, this had been a poor lesson for the first-years in spell casting. It was perhaps a good lesson in sensitivity, however. That was something of a silver lining.
The show must go on. George looked out to Seren and paused for a moment, his eyes wandering to the side as he tried to remember. To his shock, he actually knew the answer to this one. "Oh, uh, it's in the forgetfulness potion." While he had lost his passion for teaching after that question, he still had enough knowledge to spit out one-sentence answers for the genuinely curious.
Quinn's question actually made him smile a little! He quite liked Hogsmeade, and picturing it brought him somewhere a bit happier, in his mind. It was a significantly better coping mechanism than punching things. "Oh, it's wonderful. It's the most charming little village you ever seen. It's sort of like Diagon Alley meets Scotland's village of the year." He nodded to her. "You'll love it."
"Oh- um... I can go?" George said to Opeila, nodding. He did figure he had learned his lesson, though half the crowd had left, and the shock was starting to wear off. He nodded to Clair as she stepped up and gave her the best smile he could muster, looking almost halfway happy.
"If you guys want to ask anything else, uh, me or... one of these two can show you later. That's George Henry. So just send off a letter on an owl if you can't find me."
He stood for a moment before looking out over the assembled first-years who remained. He... bowed, like he was at the end of the show, waiting for the curtains to close.

Outfit: Uniform Oh. Maybe she should've thought twice before asking him to demonstrate that particular charm. It definitely was not a good idea. Seriously, why didn't she pick literally any other spell? There was a multitude of other spells she could've chosen instead, but of course she had to choose the Mending Charm. She couldn't even blame George when she spotted him glaring daggers at her, she deserved it. She probably should explain that she wasn't trying to be mean, but now probably wasn't the best time on top of everything else that's happened.
Adelaide couldn't even bring herself to pay attention to anything else that happened next, but at least she did pay enough attention to Alan's story to realize that George was actually kind of a hero. Maybe he did seem like a bit of a knob, at least that was Adelaide's assumption of him, but Alan also did successfully make George look very brave and heroic. When Opeila came up to her, she shook her head quickly, "No, it's fine, thanks anyway," she muttered. Deciding she couldn't really bare to be in this room any longer, she quickly packed her stuff up and made a break for it. Maybe she'd just head to the library to do some actual studying, something she did not successfully get done in this so called 'study session'.Thread left.

The Good Deed of the Day

Dear reader, June 10, 2022
xxxxxxxxMaggie Hawkins was L-A-T-E. Capital L. And also capital all of the other letters. She hadn't meant to be, honest. In fact, she had been packed up relatively early on with her parchment, books, and quills. But then, like, she got to thinking. Why would Opeila Winters be calling her to get some homework help? Was she really that bad at school? Maggie didn't think so, and honestly, the idea that she really sucked that bad was just plain insulting. And unfair, too! Quite unfair.
So yeah, Maggie had spent a little bit of time moping around because Opeila, whom she had considered a friend, thought she was bad at school. Her grade average was an E, and that wasn't so bad!
But in the end, Maggie did show up. Obviously. She wasn't a quitter. Plus, she didn't want to get detention for not showing up for this study session. So Maggie catapulted herself into the classroom indicated.
"Sorry, Professor--Miss Opeila! Miss Winters?" Honestly, Maggie still wasn't quite sure of how she was supposed to address Opeila. They'd interacted before, during the study group debacle early in the year, and Maggie considered themselves to be acquaintances, at least. Was she to refer to Opeila as Miss? Professor? Didn't know. It didn't seem like it mattered, because a student was standing before an assembled crowd of students, stuttering through his sentences. June's things sat on a table, discarded, and Maggie crept forward, picking up one of her books. Could she reasonably steal this homework? Was that moral? Likely not. Maggie shrugged and slid the supplies into her satchel bag.
Then, turning back to the smoking remnants of the class who had departed, Maggie furrowed her brows. "Uh. Did I miss something?"INTERACTIONS | @June Selwyn, @George Henry, @Opeila Winters
