The fifth year had been craving a run, as the morning was simply fantastic. So there he was, heading for the Quidditch Training Pitch, a place he frequently visited for his morning runs. He was dressed in a red shirt and simple sweatpants as he began stretching for a moment to warm himself up. There were many thoughts on his mind, but he was sure that everything would work out. He had a good feeling about this day, but then again he had the same feeling about almost every day. He simply seemed to be quite optimistic in the way he perceived everything. He liked going to the pitch in the morning, because it meant there was less of a chance to disturb anyone's practice. Especially since the Broom Racing team often used the place to practice as well, after all flying a broom was key and this pitch was the best place to practice it.

Tiger was waiting next to him until he was done stretching and once he was, he would fall into a light jog and slowly sped up until he met a steady and fast enough pace. He didn't try to push himself today, so he made sure his breathing did not get labored or anything. Tiger was running after him with big leaps and jumps, welcoming the chance to ran as well. Alan had been spending a lot more time lately to train the feline and was quite impressed with all of the progress. Tiger looked rather majestic when he easily kept pace with Alan. After running about three laps he headed to the middle of the pitch, where he had left his stuff and grabbed a water bottle to enjoy a small break before he would continue. He was already somewhat sweaty, which was normal after a training, as he leaned his head back to drink the water. When he had his refreshment, he knelt down and began to slowly pour the bottle towards Tiger, allowing the feline to also drink something.

Crack of dawn, under normal circumstances, light would be pouring into the room, but here, in the basement of Hogwarts, there wasn't that same level of early morning sun streams. Here one would be expected to arise to a slightly brighter water view. Still stunning, but also vastly different to what Monica was used to.
She had never really been an early riser per-say, but she also was not one to sleep in. Most mornings she found herself lying in her bed, tracing the ceiling with her eyes as she searched for the motivation to stir, and rise for the day.
Most everyone else still rest in their deep slumbers, so Monica figured it was the best time to get an early morning stroll around the grounds, not for any particular reason, other than to see what sort of a day she was dealing with.
Sure enough, making it outside, it was a lavish day. the sun peeking out through the sparsely placed clouds. Faint birds songs were heard from a far, and not many people were yet up and about.
Perhaps it was a good time to get in some broom training. Now on a waiting list to see if she would be able to join the quidditch team, Monica was eager to get in as much practice as she could, in hopes of supporting her team all the way to the top of the ranks.
Taking a school broom, she made her way over to the Quidditch training pitch, no better place to get in some free flying.
Nearing the pitch, she saw someone on the tracks, alongside them a small animal of some kind. Getting closer, Monica recognized this person to be an older student, but for the life of her, could not remember their name.
The student came to a halt, and took the center of the field, sitting down to enjoy some water with his small friend.
"Wonder if he is a flyer at all? might be interesting to do some training with some one else for a change than just taking to the skies alone."
Up until this point, most of Monica's flying experience had been, solo, or falling flat on her face in front of other people. Now she felt more skilled in her ability to stay on a broom, but how well can you know how far you have grown in a skill without testing it?
She approached the solo runner, with the sudden urge for competition, though with no discernible reason as to why, just a feeling that he would be a good competitor.
"Hey, sorry to bother you," suddenly super aware that she was potentially interrupting this person's own alone time, or training session, but to late now, her presence was known, and the question was starting to spill from her mouth. "I was planning on doing some flying, just to get in some practice... I don't suppose you would be interested in a little race by chance?"
Her thought was simple, if she could keep up with this older student, than perhaps she was a gifted flyer after all, if he creamed her....well she is only a first year, no shame in loosing right?
"What do you say?"
