This is totally off topic, but I saw this on Tumblr and I thought it was cool and it would help a bunch.

Writing Characters in the Houses

Gryffindor: they’re bold, yes, but in the way that a sunset burns your eyes and rays of light glisten off water. Sometimes they’re bold like banging together pots and pans, but that’s only when they need attention. Most human beings want attention, but a Gryffindor will make it known. They give everything to keep things fair and right in their minds and the world they live in, so why shouldn’t people be fair to them as well?

Ravenclaw: Intelligence doesn’t always mean schoolwork and books. Intelligence can be knowing to say the right thing to a depressed friend, or pouring over the instructions manual to a new camera so that it’ll capture all the moments they want to keep forever. It can also be throwing out all instructions, because if they’ve learned so much over life, they shouldn’t need a piece of paper to tell them how to do it. Curiosity over knowledge can be strategic video-game playing, or knowing just how much peanut-butter to put on the sandwich so it doesn’t get stuck in your mouth.

Hufflepuff: Loyalty seems like it should be a given, but wait until all your friends abandon you but them. You might’ve pushed people away in your depression, or had a panic attack that freaked someone out. Hufflepuffs don’t abandon people for something like that, even if they don’t understand. They’ll roar away your bullies, and then learn how to help you by educating themselves until they know everything about everyone just by looking. Nothing is scarier than a Hufflepuff facing injustice in the face (and not giving a single crap).

Slytherin: Ambition isn’t all world domination, black heels, and winged eyeliner. Sometimes it’s the straight-A student pulling on her lucky cardigan before finals, or the boy with the glasses staying until the library closes to help a friend cram. Occasionally, it’s pulling strings to manipulate friends so that they can recognize their own worth, or to make a bully realize the pain they’re causing. In most places, a slytherin’s ambitions show when they’re defending people they value, or playing Mario Kart and always winning by less than fair tactics. The essence of a Slytherin is pushing through the pain, then working day and night so that they’re in a position where nobody else has to face what they did. A Hufflepuff will confront the bully and stop them straight in their tracks with fire and strength. A Slytherin will make the bully their friend, learn their insecurities, and then watch over them to make sure nobody else gets hurt. Power is more important to them then confrontation. They’ll play the long game. Remember that if you face one in Monopoly.

That sounds really cool ^_^ I I've always thought it was interesting the way the houses are divided up. Not of the core traits are really independent of each other, so it's easy to see yourself falling into multiple categories. (Except me. Every single test I've ever taken says I'm a Gryffindor )
