It was early in the day, the quidditch match of the day was about to start. They did not pick a good day for it, it was supposed to rain all day. There was already a drizzle coming down but considering the oppressive darkness overhead, it looked like the weather was only going to get worse from here. This was going to be a full day of quidditch. The first match (this one) was supposed to be between Hogwarts and Koldovstoretz & Durmstrang. There were a lot of emotions wrapped up in this match, Koldovstoretz had lost a large number of their friends in Hogsmeade last year when they had decided to visit Hogwarts for the first time. While not wholly founded, some Koldovstoretz students resented Hogwarts for their losses. As for Durmstrang, they were a rather 'physical' institution and their shameful loss two years ago hung about their necks of the upper classman as a mark of shame. One that needed to be eradicated.

School pride filled the stands. Some were just there to observe the competition for the upcoming Hexwizard Tournament while others were there to cheer their friends, family and school on. Some students waved little flags, others got artistic and drew something on their umbrella in hopes that their team (or their competition) would see what they had to say.

Aurelia hated getting her feathers wet that was for sure, the damp feathers felt against her skin was grossly wet, heavy and cold. The majestically large Eurasian eagle-owl swerved into the stands, gracefully and swiftly morphing into her human self. "Pluvia velo," a whisper of an incantation of 4 syllabuses that briskly shielded her from the incessant drizzle of rain. The Gryffindor usually never turned up to spectate her own school's quidditch matches, and especially not in weather immenent of a storm. It was mostly due to the fact she didn't have any quidditch-playing friends than her lack of interest in the sport. But today was an exception.

Very intentionally early, she was. Although not too certain for sure, if she remembered right, her durmstrang boyfriend, Lysander (@Phaedra Stavrou) was on the team playing against Hogwarts. Whatever the position he played, she wouldn't be able to recall, unfortunately. Rather unusual for a couple, they hadn't communicated for nearly a month. The owls she sent during the first few weeks of summer unexpectedly returned, the letters unopened in their beaks, apparently not having found the recipient it was destined to. She'd thought that with summer, the boy would have returned to England, but it seems he was out of range. As an owl herself, sending a bird on a strenuous trip to deliver letters internationally was just unethical. So she never did, instead, heading off to France to do her own thing.

Now, seated at the stands an area which got a considerably optimal view of the quidditch pitch. Patiently waiting for the game to begin. Her stormy blue eyes scanned the area below, searching. If they found Lys', the broadening of her lips into a lovely smile and a wiggle of her fingers would be all she gave in a wordless hello. Only time would tell if her presence was more of a support or a distraction.

Why was the weather always groggy whenever Falentra decided to make an appearance at a Quidditch game? She didn't all mind the bitter cold and wetness, but she much preferred being sat by a fire watching it, or with some sort of cover available at least. Being up high in the stands made the weather that bit harsher and more than likely to get the brute force of it all.

Falentra made her way up to the stands. She made sure to attend looking smart. In such a setting, there was no reason to but for those that new her knew the occasion didn't matter. Fashion had helped her in confidence, as well as express herself. You could never knew whether she was going to turn up in something exotic and eye-popping, or in something subtle and easy on the eyes. It may of been another small reason she loved dressing up so much too.
Her hair was down, parts hanging freely down to her lower back, whilst others were forcefully tucked away behind her ears and rested somewhat neatly over her chest. It was hard to maintain a tidy appearance when it came to her hair, in such a weather. It was probably best to just throw it up and be done with it but Falentra was just as stubborn as her hair was.

Upon entering a row, she would take a quick glance around her, seeing who she was dealing with for the next few hours. Surprisingly her eyes caught on to an old friend. Aurelia. A faint smile appeared on her face as she thought of the Gryffindor. She caught her smiling and giving a brief wave down toward the pitch, but she had no idea at who. Rather than questioning the action, she brushed it off and made her way over. The Slytherin rested a hand on the girls shoulder without warning, making herself know. ''Hey there stranger.'' She spoke softly and gave the other a smile. It had been forever since they had last met. There was surely a lot to catch up on, and thankfully there was a whole match worth for them to do just that.

Aurelia remained unaware of the presence of the Slytherin joining her in the stands till notified with a tap on her shoulder. Turning around, was the familiar face of her pretty friend, Falentra. As fashionable in darkness of black as always, with a soft smile lingering on her lips. Hey stranger. Indeed, with how the Gryffindor had been intentionally avoiding her pal, it was apparent that she had some work to do in the friendship department.

"Falentra. Hi," The Notresvace greeted in return, uncertain on a better response to give. "Join me under, you are going to get wet from the rain." stating the obvious to the murky weather that was sending a cold drizzle down on them, gesturing for the other to accompany under the umbrella charm. Although Falentra was certainly capable in conjuring her own spell.

Ever since the Hexwizard announcement in the Spring Festival, Aurelia had distanced herself from the Slytherin. Falentra Black was the special person to Hogwart's Champion, that being none other than the school famous dhampir, Howard. This dhampir whom she had certain qualms with, the precarious history and recent event transpiring between them had led up to their eventual fallout. It was not fair on her friend, but again, she had a lot to work on in the friendship department. Now they sat, the silence creating an awkward tension between them. "I've been avoiding you because of Howard." She finally broke the silence, no beating around the bush. Falentra deserved that much.

One would say the silence was painfully awkward and unsettling, but for Falentra it did very little. She was used to it, whether it was from her own doing or not. It often followed her wherever she went, so-much-so, it had begun to caused the lack of realisation in how uncomfortable others may of been in her presence. Minus this particular Gryffindor, of course.

Falentra removed her hand from the other and took a step closer so she was now shielded from the rain. She gave yet another smile, as a thank you except this time it was a faint one. Too much smiling caused her cheeks to ache, naturally; she wasn’t used to doing such a thing so often in such a short period of time.

Neither were the best of talkers. Mainly short replies came from the pair, or the lack of enthusiasm was noticed in their voices, but of the two, Aurelia seemed to be the better one. She again spoke and this time Falentra replied… most likely due to the conversation mentioning Howard.

Her eyes somewhat lit up and a brow would raise. Falentra inhaled slowly…then exhaled deeply before she responded. She wanted to make sure her emotions were at least controlled before talking on the touchy subject. With Aurelia however.. she didn’t know if there was any point in trying to hide it. She was after all one of the few that knew her more than most. “Oh yeah? Why’s that?” Falentra asked casually. “I haven’t seen him for a bit meself.” She paused, briefly before turning her head to the other finally. “I hope you haven’t got me confused with that delicate flower of his.” She was referring to Bloom of course, a natural made enemy that needed no explanation as to why.

Frustration or anger was assumed as a reaction to her confession, but on the contrary, Falentra asked for more elaboration calm and unhinged. Perhaps Aurelia expected a more volatile retort because the last time she disappeared without contact for months, it wasn't too pleasant of a reunition on her return. Or maybe they've both grown. "I assumed you and Howard were still on good terms - at least I assume initially because you're his special person. Howard and I, not so much. Remember, the last time some disagreeable enigmas between us were disclosed... you two broke up." Gaze meeting the other girl's darker eyes, she spoke explaining why she had not communicated at all. "Avoiding you really isn't the best option long-term, I've gathered, sorry." Her shoulders lifted and fell slightly as she let out a breath of exasperation.

The seat creaked as she shifted slightly, recollection of these matters just was not as easy as she had thought. "A few weeks before the ball, Howard hurt me, again. I've told him to stay away." Finally admitting to what transpired between them. "I don't want to go into the details. You can ask him though." Mustering a feeble smile. The alluding to the Ravenclaw instigated an unwarranted roll of her eyes. "Bloom Silverton. Ugh. Tell me Howard did not just settle for her just to spite you."

Falentra didn’t know what to say to that. She was technically right. She was his special person, so had ever right to believe the pair still must have been close… but even Falentra didn’t know why her name was chosen. After the way things ended when the champions were picked, she had never really gotten around to asking him. Or rather, a part of her feared to even hear his answer. He had chosen Bloom over her that night, and ever since there has been a part of her that has shut off or seemingly gone missing. She was a lot more distance towards others now; crueler.. toxic. She hated the thought of letting another so close to her heart again, so making everyone hate her seemed a better choice.

Before being given the chance to dive deeper into her thoughts, Aurelia spoke of the two fighting, again. Really? They were like two loose canons together. Both so stubborn and strong-minded that they just clash at any given chance. “Again?” Falentra frowned slightly. She remember the scars she received from Howard and how much she worried over them being seen by others. “What happened now? How did he hurt yo— Where— You know..” It was obvious she was getting flustered over her concern for the Gryffindor. “You two are better of just staying away from one another, cause some day, one of you will end up causin’ some serious damage..” Falentra spoke in annoyance, purely because she cared for her..and Howard. She spoke and thought like a worried mother would when it came to those she cared for. Yet, when it came to her own reasoning, she wanted anger and chaos. The Slytherin was probably right though, in regards to the other two. One day, these arguments or fights will go that little too far and someone will overstep the line.

The final response that was to come from Auri made her chuckle. She had to laugh else she’d of either let her foul-mouth run wild or have gotten all emotional. “Yup.” She purposely gave a one word answer to let her know the topic was touchy and not something she wished to talk further on right now.

───•─•────────────────────────────────────•─•───
If it was quidditch, then there was sure to be a certain redhead. With the exception fo the international game of two years past, Evelynn had yet to miss a game, whether as player or spectator. Thunder storms had never scared her off previously, and a little rain surely wouldn't now. She had come prepared. Dressed in a high collared coat to fend off the wind and protect her from the elements and an umbrella, she had made her way to the stands. A pair of upper classmen had caught her attention, and given a (relatively) recent exchange of owls with one of their peers, she veered for a nearby open seat.

"Miss Black. Miss Notrésvace," she greeted them each in turn, offering a reserved smile and nod of her head from below the rim of a wide umbrella. "Is this seat taken?" she would ask, directing the question to Falentra. If it was not, she would aim to take a seat on the side of the girl opposite of Aurelia. If it was, then she would politely pardon herself and find the nearest empty seat elsewhere.

Either way, she would waste no time in setting herself up as was typical for her in a match. From out of the leather messenger bag slung over a shoulder, she would pull a number of items. A mason jar held her little companion of blue flame, a source of heat to stave off the chill accompanying the rain. Pen and notebook would go to her lap, pages opened to her most recent quidditch-related note-taking. Then there were the omnioculars, a small cloth, and a flat stone to serve as a paper weight. She had even thought to bring a stand for the umbrella, the long device pulled from the bag in a physics-defying way that suggested the bag's enchanted nature.

She had come prepared, eyes and ears trained to pick up the smallest detail of interest both on and off the pitch.

Arjan Oberoi, Durmstrang, Beater—tall, dark, rather good looking. As cocksure as ever.
Madhup Hexum, Durmstrang, Chaser—effortless flight, childish, obnoxiously loud
Charles Alluring, Durmstrang, Chaser—tall, unfocused, something about him...
Edward Smith, Koldovstoretz, Beater—small, overcompensating
Evgeny Petrov, Koldovstoretz, Keeper—edgy, short-fused, easily goaded?
Rosella Sokolov, Koldovstoretz, Chaser—practical, balanced, calm

And so it would go on.. As the players were announced, their names and positions would be jotted down, along with their player number and any other identifying thoughts.

"I know, but Howard won't..." In dismay, Aurelia allowed her head to lean against the taller girl's shoulder. It was a nearly never-ending cycle between her and the dhampir since the first incident in the owlery that started it all. It was a convoluted bond built upon trauma and staying away was more complicated than anyone could fathom. Unsurprisingly, it was easier for Aurelia than the dhampir himself to respect their newly set boundaries, Howard's inhumane part was always ravenous.

The Gryffindor did not want to go into details about how it transpired despite her friend's concern and therefore did not provide any more information on the matter. Upon noticing Fal's apprehensive response to her comment on Howard's new girl, she muttered an apologetic, " Sorry." With how awkward the communication between them was growing, all aurelia wanted was for the match to begin already, but being early meant she just had to wait.

"You know, I've got to talk with Bloom the other day, like us in the girl's lavatory when you asked me about the scar? She did too. I told him about what Howard did to me. And she told me I don't deserve kindness because he bit me. Can you believe her audacity?" Aurelia wasn't really one to gossip, but with a good friend like Falentra, why not?

Joining them was one of her housemates, Evelynn. One who she hadn't spoken to in a while, after all, Aurelia certainly hadn't imprinted the best guise when they first met in the hospital wing. Perhaps the girl had already overheard their bout of gossip, playing to why she'd stick near despite the range of empty seats across the stands, no matter. A curt smile in return was all she provided to acknowledge the other's presence. Whether or not Falentra would let, was up to her.

It had been a couple of years now since Greta had been forced firmly encouraged to take leave of the Durmstrang quidditch team in favour of more noble pursuits—i.e. duelling. Unless someone had made it to the professional level and was representing their country internationally, her parents tended to discredit Quidditch as a sport for those who weren't gifted enough with the wand to make it elsewhere. It was a shame, really. Greta loved the air. It was the only time she wasn't forced to look up at everyone. There, her size didn't matter. In fact, it was sometimes a boon. She could easily dart between players, but...

A sigh escaped her lips. There was no use reminiscing. There would be no going back, she knew. As much as Valya and the rest might drop that lure time and again in front of her, tugging at her heartstrings to return. She missed them. Like.. really really missed them. Duelling just wasn't quite the same. Sure, it sparked her competitive edge, and she liked to make others regret underestimating her, but it was more of a solo endeavour, with way too many students with a superiority complex who liked to gloat about their achievements and ability to subdue their comrades. It didn't drive Greta. Not the way that Quidditch had.

The best she could do now, then, was to show her continued support. And show it she would! With little regard for the rain, Greta had raced towards the pitch, layers of her green and yellow lagen-look dress already drinking up the spatters that fell to earth. She didn't mind. Rain never hurt anyone, and it was pretty warm, all things considered. Her hair had been pulled back into a set of braids that had then, themselves, been braided together to fall down her back. The cord thumped a rhythm against her back with every hasty stride, her wand shoved haphazardly within the trained tresses.

In her arms, she carried a massive bundle of heavy linen, red and black and furred. It was an ultimate monstrosity of a... thing. Some sort of Frankenstein project that looked like five grade schoolers had all been tasked to work together on making a banner, all of them with their own idea. To most, it might look like several cloaks had been sewn together. And poorly at that, the fabric at the base appearing shredded in the way that it wasn't quite fully attached together. Never mind, that. On its front had been painted a great silver niffler, a snitch clutched triumphantly within its little paws. She unfurled it once she got to the stands, finding a bit of space so she could hoist it up into the air with a levitation charm. She would keep it up the whole game if she could, waving and jumping up and down excitedly whenever any of the Durmstrang players flew near enough to where she was to notice.
