Clarisse Mosse wrote: 10 Jun 2018, 10:36 Ravenclaw table was bursting, and she barely knew where to sit. Last night, she had been too full of emotion to really think about it and had squished next to some first years that she didn't talk to and didn't remember the name of. Today, her mind was more fresh and she was almost more exited, although this time around she could take a moment to choose where to sit without the rabble of trying to sit before someone else joined them.

There was a boy talking to himself. Perhaps it was better to avoid the ones who could be mad, but instead it drew her towards him. The girl swivelled her feet around the bench and slid up to sit next to him. Of course, then it came to introducing herself and she wasn't exactly certain how to do that.

Instead, she distracted herself by filling up a bowl with cereal. He was clearly more interested in the bacon. Clarisse had already dipped her spoon into the bowl before realising she had forgotten the milk. And the nearest jug was closer to that boy next to her (Miles) than to herself.

She nudged him, hoping to not disturb him and his bacon. "Pass the milk, please?" Then, noticing he was a little out of it, "You are alright, right?"
What was a strange occurrence was that food got me into this state but bacon seemed to be the answer? Is that right? There were the highs and the lows. Yesterday it seemed was the happiest Miles had been in a long time, but the euphoria dissipated today when he realized that he ate way more food last night then his system could handle. He realized from the corner of his eyes that he had company but Miles could only seem to be oblivious. His senses seemed to be ruled by his stomach at the moment he thought when the girl next to him asked to pass the milk.

Those first impressions sure had her looking more prepared for the day then he was, headache or not. The sure amount of hair had Miles stare a little bit, but somehow his senses to return if a little late in reply. I, um, yea of course as he awkwardly leaned towards the center of the table to pass the milk to the long, dark locks girl sitting beside him. Sorry, if you think im ROOOD as Miles takes a bit of toast with sticky strawberry jam. I'm Miles and I personally blame the food last night for my sorry state. As he dusts off the bread crumbs from his hands onto his jeans, he leans cross body to offer fellow Ravenclaw his hand.

Trying to remember when I was 11 is hard, but this seems accurate lol.

Somehow, he managed to get his senses, returning to the conversation. He assured her that he was alright. Although she didn't quite believe it, Clarisse didn't say, taking the milk from him with a quick "thank you". She poured it over her cereal and began to eat, making herself busy with shovelling food in her mouth so that she wouldn't have to keep the conversation going. Give him a chance to speak. Somehow, the cereal tasted so good. So much better than home. It kept her from feeling that tinge of homesickness.

The boy - Miles - apologised for his sorry state and blamed it on the food. Yet he was still helping himself to some jammed toast. Clarisse was almost sorry she picked cereal over that jam, but smiled anyway, reminding herself to try some tomorrow. Or the next day. Or the day after that. After all, she was going to spend all term here. All year. Seven of them.

The thought was scary.

"No, not rude," she reassured, having swallowed a mouthful of cereal, "And I get you. There's so much food here - and it tastes amazing! Who makes it all? Is it magic, you think?" Food that tasted this good had to be.

She placed her spoon down and took his hand. And shook it of course, with a nice smile.

"Clarisse. Sorry if I'm quiet. I'm a bit..." she gestured to everything, "I just can't believe I'm here. Hogwarts. It was weird, not waking up in my room. But it is my room. My new room. I just... It's too much. And it hasn't even started yet."

She let herself have another spoonful of milk before continuing. "How are you finding it?"

Lucia sitting at the Ravenclaw table looked up. She saw the table was full. On her right there was a girl. She wasn't sure what year. she the decided to tap them on the shoulder. "Hey what year are you?"She asked the girl who had flowing long hair. and her Ravenclaw robes on.

While Miles introduces himself, he realizes that he is being a little bit of a pig, but that doesn't stop him from jamming his mouth full of food. Its the day after the sorting and it seems to much to be true really and laughs to Clarisse. With this castle, anything could be magic don't you think? Anything from the food to the brooms... to us. We are magic after all becoming witches and wizards. We do have seven years to find countless things to blow up.

At that moment, a flock of owls rain in from up near the ceiling casting post, letters, packaging throughout the four tables of students. A few letters rain down from above and one was from his parents. His father must have sent one soon after departing on the train to make sure that when he had time, he would get around to responding. Its, a pleasure to meet you Clarisse, but I am sure with all new things that soon this will all become normal. I'm finding it enjoyable, but really have had concerns with whether I was put in the right house you know. In the coming days I really have to write my Aunt Felicity about that.

At that moment he sifted through his two letters and came to the post and this really amazed Miles since he never seen a newspaper with actual moving pictures. He glances at Clarisse as she is devouring her cereal. How did you come across being a future witch?

A whole new world awaits those that seek it.

A girl tapped her on the shoulder and she spun, smiling brightly at the other Ravenclaw. Another first year, she believed, although she wasn't certain. "First year, you?" she asked, before adding, "I'm Clarisse, by the way. Nice to meet you."

"Blow things up?" she said, face twisting into a smile, "I don't think we really should be. But I mean, on the way as we learn, I guess, it'll have to happen." She did like how that was his first thought when it came to magic. He seemed pretty fun. For a second, she wondered why he was a Ravenclaw. She didn't know where that thought came from - but it was probably rude to ask. Beside, who knew if he knew.

As the birds flew down towards them, Clarisse gave a slight gasp. She had seen owls before, of course, but this... She had never seen so many in one place at once. As one landed in front of Miles, a thick envelope dropped by her bowl too - from her family, of course. Despite her excitement to read it, she held herself back, pushing it into her pocket for later.

"I'm sure you're in the right house," she assured, "The Sorting House never gets it wrong. I'm sure any professor or student can tell you that! I mean, can you think of anything? Why you'd be in Ravenclaw? I mean, even if you can't, doesn't mean it's wrong. I'm sure you'll find out eventually."

She returned to her cereal, letting him scan through his letters. She took a glance at the other girl who had sat next to her, curious if she had received any letter too.

"How did I come across.. What do you mean?" she asked, forgetting her mouth was a little full. It was a good thing her mother wasn't here, to reprimand her on her manners. "My mum's a witch, so I've always known. But still, getting the letter - it was amazing and exciting and honestly the best moment in my life so far. How about you?"

As the headmaster clapped his hands and food appeared on their plates, Cecily slowly ate her food, most of the time looking around at other people. She hoped she could find some people, or at least one person who could be her friend for her years at Hogwarts.

Cecily looked over at the Hufflepuff table, almost wishing she had been sorted there. Ever since Cecily's older siblings had been to Hogwarts and had told her all about it, Cecily had been wishing she would be in Hufflepuff. She knew that Hufflepuff fit her character perfectly, and was quite surprised when she was sorted in to Ravenclaw. She wasn't mad, for she knew that Ravenclaw had to be the right house for her. The sorting hat chose her to be in that house, and she would have to accept it no matter what.

Cecily drank her pumpkin juice in little sips, trying to have the best manners possible. Her heart beat fast and she felt butterflies in her stomach seeing other people chatting and talking with each other, having an amazing time.
How did they get friends so fast!?! Cecily thought.

She bit her lip and leaned foward to try to look at all of the Ravenclaw Table. She gulped. Everyone there seemed to be chatting with someone else. Everyone but her. Cecily finished her meal, observing other tables, especially the Hufflepuff Table.

"My names Lucia Silver but you can call me Luc. I'm a first year too,"She says with a smile. "What was happening when you got your letter?"She asked looking at the food on her plate. She began to eat her sunny side up eggs and pancakes. She had put a lot of syrup on her pancakes it was like a flood. She tied her hair back into a ponytail and began eating. Her mouth was completely full of food. She loved pancakes but didn't touch her eggs. She didn't even know why she had even chosen eggs. Maybe she didn't. She could have just forgotten what she ordered. She continued to eat her food until her plate only had syrup on it. She had eaten the eggs but then began to feel sick. She ran to the bathroom and threw up. When she came back her plate was still a flood of syrup. She then took her plate and cleaned it. She then back at the table began work on a picture of what she wanted her pet to be.

"Yes, I've never seen anything like this ceiling!" Valerie immediately agreed. "It's an incredible piece of magic, isn't it? The founders must have been powerful and talented witches and wizards to created something has enormous as this. I haven't seen much of the Grounds, though, maybe tomorrow. The map is a clever idea, it didn't think of that. Do you know if there's really a giant squid living in the Great Lake?"

She'd had mixed feeling about coming to Hogwarts for the whole summer, but now that she was really here she had to admit that is a breathtaking place. Beauxbatons was pretty as well of course, her father and aunt had told her so on many occasions, but Hogwarts as more… well, magic. Raw and powerful. Even Valerie could feel how special a place this castle and was, and had basically grown up as a muggle.

"Defense Against the Dark Sides sounds the most interesting to me, and I'm definitely looking forwards to the History of Magic lessons. History is fun, my aunt is a historian." Her whole face lit up when she mentioned her aunt. Aurore FabrΓ© was the most awesome witch ever, even if Valerie hadn't met many other witches to compare her witch. "Did you read any textbooks yet? I looked into a few, but especially Transfiguration sounded complicated."

"Most classes are complicated here,"Lucia says looking up at the detailed ceiling that had all kinds of things like lions and many magical creatures. She began to sketch the ceiling out carefully. She drew every little aspect every little crack she could see. She even drew the floating candles that were covering bits of the art work. Lucia always drew with no mistakes. When she made on she would be careful and be sure to not mess it up twice. While she was sketching she also would look through her art bags for the colors she would need. Soon enough she was half-way done with the drawing so she decided to take a break. "Do you like what I did?"She asked a girl sitting next to her. She then set her stuff down and decided to eat some of her food. She then also took out some muggle candy. "I prefer it,"She said so no one questioned her for eating muggle candy. She then dug through one of her bags looking for her note pad for when she needed to take notes to re imagine what something looked like. She found it and opened the pad. She then began to take notes on the ceiling just incase it would be needed.

Eri had a rough morning. She didn't wake up when she normally did. She felt exhausted which wasn't normal and she was a bit Β grumpy to. But anyways she got up got dressed and got ready for the day. Even Igbo she was unhappy about it. Then once she was dressed and ready she headed towards the great hall to eat.

When she got down there she went to her normal spot in the corner far away from everyone else and ate while she read a book. If anyone cared to read the title, it was her transfiguration text book.

The brunette ate some bacon and some sunny side up eggs. She wasn't very hungry so she only had one iDVD each. She was listening to people's conversations as she ate and read.Β

It was a bit boring not speaking to anyone but she rarely spoke to people at breakfast. It was just her thing. But hopefully it would stay that way but it never did, people always had to speak to her and ruin her thing. She didn't mind it, but sometimes it was nice to have peace and quiet instead of talking to people and answering there questions.

Mason watched in awe as food suddenly appeared on the plates. He'd never seen anything like it before. It's like magic! he thought to himself, before remembering that that was indeed what it was. He couldn't help but laugh at the wonder of it all. He filled his plate with two drumsticks and a spoonful of mashed potatoes.

He glanced around at the hall while he ate, admiring the floating candles and the ceiling that replicated the night sky. It was all too good to be true- even now, he couldn't believe that he'd really been sent to a wizard's school. He couldn't wait to write to his mum and dad about the trip here and about being sorted... but after thinking about it a moment, he decided he'd better wait until tomorrow night to write to them so he could tell them about his classes. He'd tell them all about the train, the floating candles, the ghosts... his friends back home would no doubt be interested, too.

With that thought, Mason felt his heart sank. He wasn't allowed to let his Muggle friends know where he was. As far as Mason was concerned, it was unfair, both to him and his friends- he was a wizard, and he was going to a school to learn all about magic, and he couldn't even tell his friends about it. He couldn't tell them about anything he was learning, he couldn't vent about any struggles he had with his schoolwork, he couldn't tell them about the new friends he made here... he couldn't say anything. He began to worry that he might even drift away from his friends due to all this sudden secrecy; he was practically living a double life! And what if he couldn't make any friends here, either?

As he glanced around the room, now feeling rather anxious, he noticed a girl sitting across from him, one seat to his left. He remembered her from the sorting- Cecily, if he wasn't mistaken. She looked rather lonely as well, which immediately made Mason feel a little better- if they were both feeling lonesome, then perhaps they weren't so alone after all?

Mason extended his hand towards Cecily. "Heya," he greeted her, speaking a bit loudly to make sure he could be heard over the other students in the hall chatting. "My name's Mason- Mason Harvey! Pleasure to meet you! It's Cecily, right?" He smiled wide, the gap between his front teeth showing.
