Spring Races Broom Race Hufflepuff v Slytherin

For whatever reason his broom stopped with a sudden jolt, the stop itself almost sending him flying over his broom and to the floor below. Thankfully, he managed to hang on but in many ways he was confused by what happened. Percival did not order it to stop nor was anyone nearby to stop him. What was going on here? With a big shake of his head, he pushed forwards again, hoping to catch up and gain the lost ground he lost.

The chaos that has been this battle between snakes and badgers is nearly over, but there is no sight of a truce even this far into the match. The snakes have found their bearings and begin to make forward progress once again. And it looks like the spree of large flying objects isn't going to slow down either! Claire stays put to attack from the rear once again, and her large rock looks to find the same target as before, none other than Scarlet.

Quite a shame to the Hufflepuff, apparently throwing a rock wasn’t as easy as she might have thought. The slytherin racer, Scarlet Salvatore was quicker to evade the thing that would have caused her much damage, maybe even a concussion if it were to make contact with her head. But not today, not today.

The spectators might say, huh, we think we have seen this film before! Looks like Claire isn't the only one practicing their aim with rocks again. Gemini from the slytherin team would aim the rock to Mr. Simon Kincaid, the team’s pretty boy with his awesome slicked back hair and that James Dean daydream look in his eyes.

As Taylor Swift herself might say, there goes the last great rock thrower dynasty. Because for whatever reason, could be the wind, could be something else, Gemini threw the rock so far away from Simon. In fact, it almost seemed like she didn’t even aim at him. As for Avery Gallows, the Hufflepuff captain, she looked to find the back of Scarlet as well, but was unable to make the shot.

Further ahead, Simon continues to move through. Even after sustaining some bodily damage from flying through fire, he's still got a lot of energy left in him to get him through the challenges he speeds into. It seemed like he learnt from his fiery past, that happened a couple of minutes ago, because look at him now. He looked like a professional racer, evading the thorns that were waiting to pierce anyone who passed by.

Maybe this was why both teams couldn’t have nice things. If they weren’t being so shady by throwing rocks and stuff at each other, maybe they could be a couple of besties. The hypothesis would be that these kids woke up and chose violence instead of love. Nothing good started in a broom race because things started to get much more interesting. Simon encountered two of his opponents, Wyatt and Vale of the Slytherin and they both had their eyes on collateral damage. Both Slytherins aim and attack with logs, looking to injure Simon further.

VALE IS KNOCKED OUT FROM LOW HEALTH AFTER BLEEDING

Simon did a pretty great job, but no one except his fan base would call it flawless. Not only Simon hit the poor tree who minded its own business once, the audacity, both Starkey and Ashwood were able to hit his beautiful face with sharp jawlines with some logs.

Whilst Wyatt stayed in the same unit, a different scenario happened to his fellow team member. Maybe it was a karma for Vale. Right after she plummeted the log at Simon’s direction, due to her previous injuries, it caused her to fall to the ground. Unfortunately for the snakes, she wouldn’t be able to continue her journey to the finish line.

Simon’s misery wouldn’t end here because no one was out of the woods yet. He would see Percival on the same unit he was in. With a helping hand of Scarlet, Percival Gray would fly in not one, but two additional speeds. But the devils rolled their dice and the angels rolled their eyes. The weird, almost terrifying aura from a certain racer, Scarlet, made Simon lose his focus and hit the trees, again, multiple times.

Percival, being the fearless boi that he was, didn’t seem to acknowledge the terrible presence of Scarlet. Instead, his insane speed would be the one who put him in his early grave. Just like the Hufflepuff dream boy, he too had some scratches here and there from the impact of hitting the trees. They should have known from the first, old fashioned they were cursed.

Could be the effect of underage driving, one of the boys couldn’t seem to stop bumping onto the tree. Percival on the other hand earned the better flyer title compared to Simon. Whilst the guy with immense love towards the newspaper continued his journey, Simon would end his round in this unit.

Maybe it would be better if we don’t throw compliments before actually seeing anyone reaching the finish line. In Percival’s defense, the obstacle he was facing was nearly impossible to get through, but it would be a dream come true if he were able to evade every single tree. But they were young and reckless, and young kids tended to take things too far to the point where it would leave them breathless or with a nasty scar. In this case, the latter.

Another unit another… slay? Percival was clearly having both hit and miss during his time flying on the broom. Before he was battered and bruised, now he dodged the thorns as if it was nothing. Not so far from the slytherin, Serena Towers was also doing a flawless job. But it seemed like she had something under her sleeve.

The fifth year was casting a fancy spell, a cracker jinx at none other than Scarlet. What did she do to get so much hatred from the Hufflepuffs? From the beginning of this round, people seemed to love to attack Scarlet. But she was swift, causing Serena’s spell to miss.

With nothing on the way, nothing would cause Percival to fall from his broom. And on his way, he would see a flying Jack Warren, who was currently the lead of the race, flew from unit 19. Jack could probably smell the victory from afar. He was so close. Too close. The wind was no match to Jack’s overall strength. He was cool and strong, the not very intense wind couldn’t kick him off of the broom. In fact, he managed to get through all three units filled with relatively easy winds. Even though it wasn’t much of a challenge, it was still a great accomplishment.

Easy trees, they said. EASY trees! No, these trees were not easy when they were beating the hell out of you! With the way he was flying at the moment, he felt like he was having a battle with the Whomping Willow herself.

Simon paused, taking a moment to just center himself. He was fine. He was still on his broom and this race was not yet over. He looked forward, hoping that some fellow badgers were ahead, tilted his head down, and placed his body to the wind to carry on!

Serena pulled back on her broom, slowing down quite a bit. She exhaled as she flew through some thorns that were relatively easy, in fairness and further into the race. Gripping her wand tightly, she looked over her shoulder. The Slytherins were catching up but it was pretty hard to do much about it. All she could do was hope. Muttering the cracker spell under her breathe, she cast it over her shoulder trying to hit it at one of them.

She narrowed her eyes as someone flew past her. Dammit, should have gone with them instead. Hugh would be so disappointed in her if they lost. Or rather, he would probably make her train even more than he already did. Ugh. She really did not want to spend the entire term having him throw things at her whilst she attempted to dodge them. Sometimes, they hit. And it hurt! Even if the guy threw a soft ball at her, with the power behind that ball - it hurt a little!

Oh wells. It was getting close to the end, hopefully. She had to focus.

So close. Jack could feel the wind through his lack of hair, and the victory line was directly in sight. Nobody could stop him. This was his moment, and he wasn't going to let any snake stop him in his way. The victory was right at his fingertips, and he wouldn't let it slip away.

Though he was just about ready to pass out, Wyatt hit that kid in the back of the head with a log just fine. He nodded at his small victory, remembering Percival's place far ahead and liking his chances. Hopefully Percival was going to be able to get in the lead, but Wyatt was more so hoping he, himself, wouldn't pass out on his broom. Looking to his side, he noticed Vale wasn't so lucky.

Percival gritted his teeth and shot like a bullet through the different stages, his mind focused and calm on what was being thrown at him. Even through the near impossible trees, he went through it at such speeds that no normal rider would even consider. If he was going to win Slytherin this race he had to take risks, no matter how hopeless the race seemed to be at this point. Either way, Gray was going to at least keep up the pressure. If they lost then so be it, they did well to make it this far back in the first place.

Gemini was not happy as she saw the projectill she through miis. It wasn't her fault the other kid was jus to far away and she wast able to hit him. She watched her rocc sore far away from the boy and she did n care anymote if she won the rase or nit.

As much as racing excited her, she wasn't exactly looking forward to attempt to navigate the deadly looking cluster of trees ahead of her, she couldn't see a clear way through and had no idea how to even approach navigating the trees that would surely do some serious damage on impact. When it came down to it, it seemed logical that the best way through would require a joint effort - she prayed as she helped boost her teammate through the obstacle that more speed really could be the solution, and gave a sigh of relief as she watched him pass through them with only the odd run-in with a tree.

As poor Vale has her wounds treated on the ground, the race in the air heats up in its final moments. Even from behind, the brave snake Gemini rushes to catch up with her teammates. She is burned by the mysterious fire that may or may not have been started by Vale before her untimely loss of consciousness. But that doesn't stop Gemini as she tears through a batch of thorns, not unscathed. She catches up with her teammate—possibly to offer Wyatt some moral support as he alley-oops Scarlet toward the finish line. Will this last-minute dash help Slytherin, or is Wyatt just sending Scarlet to her doom? Scarlet is flung forward and she finds herself neck and neck with the dashing badger, Simon. They both navigate the thickest part of the trees, the bane of many players in previous rounds. And no surprise here, they both get knocked about, heavily bruised—with Scarlet the worse of the two. At least they both are able to avoid the sharp thorns—probably even more of a relief to Scarlet, who is already bleeding. They are able to just see the older Hufflepuff, Serena, as she too tries to end on top. Serena finds herself next to Percival as they both approach the winds. Luckily no one is knocked off their broom. Percival speeds past Serena. Ahead of him, he can see the race leader, Jack—against all odds, it seems Percival is gaining on Jack. Both Percival and Jack enter the last stretch of winds—they're too close to tell who will come out on top. They stay glued to their brooms—it'll need to be a photo finish—and JACK WARREN WINS.
