‘Yes, yes, I know that, mum.’
Callida looked around the platform anxiously, hoping that nobody was looking in her direction. She really didn’t need her future classmates seeing her mum fussing over her like she was a little kid.
Thankfully, nobody seemed to have noticed her. Callida was pretty sure that if her father had been here, it would have been a different story, but she had made sure that he had stayed back. She didn't want to attract unnecessary attention, and with her father being so famous, that would have been impossible.
Her mother's voice shook her out of her thoughts.
'And remember, Callida,' she said, straightening Callida's white T-shirt and blinking furiously, 'to be nice to everyone. Hogwarts isn't like back at home, you know, when you could do anything you want and get away with it.'
Callida resisted the urge to roll her eyes. 'Yes, mum.' She glanced quickly at the scarlet train beside her. 'Oh, look at that!' she said suddenly. 'The train's gonna leave. What a shame! Well, better go!'
Upon her words, Callida tried to turn toward the Hogwarts Express, but was stopped by her mum wrapping her arms around her in a tight hug.
Sighing, Callida fell limp, and allowed her mother to squeeze her to death.
After what seemed like forever, her mother finally let go, and pushed her daughter toward the Hogwarts Express slightly.
'Bye, Callida. Behave yourself!'
Callida entered the train at once, afraid her mother was going to change her mind about letting her daughter go and demand that she go home with her at once. 'Bye, mum!'
As Callida headed down the length of the train, she found that the corridors were mostly deserted. Not surprising, of course.
Everywhere she passed, the compartments were full, with the sliding glass doors closed. Callida wondered if she was going to have to spend the entire ride standing in the corridors. Ugh. Thanks, mum
Finally, Callida arrived at the end of the train. Callida was just about to accept her fate and sit down on the floor, when suddenly, she realized that one of the compartments beside her was actually empty. Not believing her luck, Callida pushed open the sliding glass door, and- there it was. Empty.
Callida ducked inside excitedly, and pushed her trunk into the overhead compartment. Then she that her situation was really very sad if she was getting this excited at an empty compartment.
Well, whatever. At least now she had somewhere to sit.

"Bye." Marina said to her little sister for hopefully the last time. Azealia had been clinging on to Marina like they were glued together.
"When will you come back?" Azealia asked.
"I'll be back at the end of June," Marina replied.
"But that's like years away!" Azealia screamed, "I'll never see you again."
"It isn't that long, and I will be back for a couple weeks at Christmas, which is only a couple months away." Marina reassured Azealia.

She noticed that it was almost time for the train to leave for Hogwarts and all the good seats would be gone soon. Why couldn't Azealia be more like Rose. Rose, Azealia's twin, was the same age as her. Rose had made Marina promise to send her a least one letter a week. Why couldn't Azealia have done the same. Marina didn't want to be rude to her little sister, especially when they wouldn't see each other for months but she really had to get on the train soon or it would leave without her.
"The train is about to leave. I have to go." Marina waved to her family as she stepped onto the Hogwarts Express.

Just as she had expected all the seats were taken by other students who by now were all chatting with each other like they had known each other for their whole lives. Marina crept along the corridors doing her best not to cause unwanted attention to herself. She looked around for empty compartments but could not find any. Finally, she saw a compartment, it was not empty, but the compartment only had one occupant.
"Hi," Marina said. "Are any of these extra seats free?"

‘Yeah, I guess.’
Callida shrugged, and gestured toward the seat across from her. ‘I mean, why would they cost money? It’s not my compartment.’
The newcomer who had just asked Callida if any of the seats were free (which was kind of unnecessary, in her opinion) was a girl maybe Callida’s age, a first year as well. Her long wavy dark hair fell to her shoulders. Her bangs completed the hair look. Her eyes were a pale blue.
Now, Callida wasn’t really sure weather to just mind her own business and go through the rest of the train ride in uncomfortable silence, or to try and chat with this girl. She was really leaning more towards the first option (who doesn’t love uncomfortable silence?), but decided that since the girl was here, they might as well talk. Otherwise, Callida suspected she might get bored to death on the train ride, which wouldn’t be good.
‘Sooo… What’s your name?’ She asked hesitantly. ‘I’m Callida Styles.’
As she spoke, Callida wondered if this girl liked Quidditch. If she did, it was likely she had heard of her father, who was, after all, an extremely famous Quidditch player. And they had the same last name….

Marina was about to say that the girl has misunderstood her but refrained from saying anything. She did not want to look stupid to a possible friend. So instead, Marina silently put her trunk in the luggage rack, and took the free seat that was across from the other student.

"I am Marina Oriel. It is nice to meet you." Marina said, "I really like your name. By the way." Marina added. She had never herd the other girls name before and Marina thought that Callida was a very pretty name, yet she still did not know why she had said that.

"So," Marina said changing the topic. "When did you find out about the magical world?" Marina asked "Or," She added remembering that some witches and wizards are born into magical families, "Are you a descendant of magical blood."

While Marina waited for Callida's response she looked around the train. It was full of compartments with comfy seats. Most of the compartments were full though. Marina had not realized how many students attended Hogwarts. There had to be hundreds of students. It was easy to tell which ones were first years because none of them were wearing house colors.

Callida refrained from smiling at the sight of the girl trying not to explain that she had misunderstood her. Of course, Callida didn’t. She was just joking around. She liked to do that.
She raised an eyebrow in surprise when the girl, Marina, as she introduced herself to be, told her that she had a pretty name. Nobody had ever said that to her before, and Callida had never really thought about her name either. ‘Callida’. Hmm. Maybe she ought to look it up sometime.
‘Thanks,’ Callida nodded appreciatively. Her eyes wandered around the compartment, eventually fixing on her trunk. ‘Same to you.’
Then, Marina asked her how she found out about the Magical World, or if she was a descendant of magical blood.
‘Well,’ Callida paused. ‘My family’s magical, so… second option. I’ve always known about the Wizarding World. Although… I guess I’ve never really thought about what it would be like to be born a muggle. Like, in a non-magical family.’
She turned to Marina. ‘Wouldn’t it be cool to have someone just suddenly go up to your door and tell you you’re magical? Is that what happened to you? Or are you.. a descendant of magical blood?’
