Secrets Were Meant to be Shared. Right..?
Cassius Myrtle | First Year | February 11th, 2022
____________________Classes had only just let out, and at least until dinner Cassius would have all the time he needed to do 'regular student activities' like catch up with a friend, study in the common room, or just wander around the grounds.
In all honesty, Cash would love to do those things on a regular week or even a regular day for that matter. Except this wasn't a regular week at all. Cassius could feel himself getting more and more tired every day it got closer to the full moon. Which by now was a mere four days away.
He plainly couldn't stand himself acting this way so close to the full moon. To put it simply Cassius didn't feel himself at all. Today, with it so close to the full moon Cash had already spoken with his sister quite vaguely about where and when they should meet to catch up, but also to discuss more 'important matters' that Cassius definitely didn't need the whole school knowing.
As he walked into the greenhouse slowly so as not to draw attention from people around the grounds, Cassius noticed very clearly his sister waiting, standing boredly and smiling.
"Took you a while."Simone jested as her brother walked in.
"I'm not late, maybe you're just early, alright?" Cassius chuckled, rolling his eyes.
His sister smiled, then her demeanor changed. "Uhm, listen." Simone took a deep breath. "I know how you feel cutting it so close to Wednesday, but how's the week going so far?"
Cassius rubbed his eyes. He knew he shouldn't be surprised Simone would ask him about this. That's why they were both there anyways. But sometimes he just wished they could talk like normal siblings.
"I don't know, Simone. I feel like I should be used to all of this now but I'm just.. I'm not. Not at all." Cassius sighed.
"Oh. Oh no." She sputtered. Cash winced at her surprise. "Did something happen at the shack last time? Was there an accident?" Simone questioned lowering her voice.
"Accident? No! No, no, no. Nothing happened," He tried to assure her. "Could you please, not always assume the worst has happened.?" Cassius insisted.
"I didn't mean it like that, " Simone tried to say. "Merlin, you know what everyone's been saying about non-humans these days. I trust you, Cassius, I just don't think its as safe here as you think it is."
Cash noticed her voice go into a whisper as she said 'non-human' and he glared. "Hell's that supposed to mean? I can't control what everyone is saying, Sim."
"I didn't say that Cash, I just don't want you to let your guard down." His sister objected.
"I know what everyone's saying Simone, I didn't want to talk to you here to hear the same thing." He argued. "I'm also obviously not the only werewolf at this school." Cassius snapped. "If you just admitted you're only scared of what'll happen to your reputation if everyone found out we'd both be a lot happier."
Simone looked dumbfounded when he finished. Cassius had never spoken to his sister like that.
"I- Fine," She practically mumbled. "I should go. I'll see you tomorrow." Simone said quickly picking up her bag and leaving the greenhouse.
"Mhm." Cassius replied quietly.
Their conversation had ended as quickly as it had started.
He stayed inside the mildly warm greenhouse alone, sulking for another moment, unsure what to do with himself. 563 words | @Colin McCoire

Secrets Were Meant to be Shared. Right..?
Attire: Usual schoolday attire: robes, shirt (buttons mismatched), tie (undone), kilt, neck ring, shoes. Nothing fancy!Reducio

Classes finally let out for the day! Colin had been feeling irritable and fidgety in class. Not so bad that he lost any house points or anything. This time, anyway. He knew that a cold day like this, most kids would head for their common rooms or the library to keep warm and chat and start their homework. Colin headed in the opposite direction. Away from people. Last month he snapped at an older Gryffindor and had a heck of a time shaking him in the corridors! He didn't want a repeat of that situation and he certainly didn't want to be caught by an older student and --- discovered.
No, today, he wanted go outside and run! The day had turned out to be cool and cloudy. Perfect for some outdoor activity! Colin's last class was thankfully not too far from the greenhouses, so he tucked his satchel and robes into one of the sheds that stood nearby, tucked his wand into his kilt pocket and took off at a run! He didn't care where he went just now, just so long as chilly air filled his lungs and blew through his hair.
Colin ran all the way down the meadow towards the lake, undid his shirt and dove into the winter dead remains of the long grasses and wildflowers! There he rolled around on his back, laughing the whole time! He remembered how the dogs back at home loved to roll around like this and now he himself had discovered the same simple pleasure.
Maybe it was a pack thing? He wondered about that as he stood up again, brushed off as many twigs and leaves as he could and put his shirt back on. Now Colin felt hungry. He was always hungry, and he'd noticed that it was during the few days before and after the fulling of the Moon that were worst. There were still a few hours until dinner time, so Colin decided to hunt around for a snack.
He took off at a run again! Back up the meadows, past that cool willow tree that always tried to whomp him as he passed. Colin skidded to a halt as he at last he got back towards the far corner of one of the greenhouses. A favourite hunting ground! Not many people came by here, and there was always something interesting scurrying around. "Yeep!" Something caught his eye! Movement!
His brow furrowed. There was also --- sound? Talking! Nothing distinct, but voices could be heard from somewhere among the greenhouses, now louder, now softer. Probably a couple older students in the greenhouse for a snog before dinner. Nothing interesting there. Colin focused in stead on the slight movement he'd seen.
He licked his teeth and sniffed at the air. He smiled. He crouched down and rocked back and forth, gauging the distance. Then with a little squeak of glee he pounced! "Yeep!" But Colin misjudged and his hands cupped over some straggling herbs and weeds! He landed on his belly and skidded. "Drat!" The scurrying thing took off towards Colin's left and he scrabbled after it! A couple more leaps and a pounce and it was in his hand!
He panted for a moment as he got up from his knees, prize in hand. "Well, now, that was a hunt of legendary proportions!" he said as rounded the corner of the greenhouse. He had a shufty around in either direction to see if anyone were nearby. "Let's just pop inside for a snack, eh lad!" he said to himself.
Colin pushed the doorway to the greenhouse open and a draught of warmer air met him. He stepped inside and had the field mouse up to his mouth when his focus shifted. He found himself face to face with another boy whom he recognised as a fellow Slytherin. "Oh, crap!" Colin said, almost shouting. His eyes focused on the wiggling mouse suspended in the air by its tail. His eyes widened with terror. "You weren't supposed to see that!" Colin looked around in a panic. Then he remembered the voices. "Who else is here!? Crapcrapcrap!" Eating mice --- probably not normal. Best hide the evidence!
Colin forgot he didn't have his robes on, so rather than pocketing the mouse for later, it ended up dropping to the floor where it scampered back out into the gardens. Colin stared at the other boy, wondering what he'd say.
