Those who do manage to break down her barriers will find someone driven to achieve the best outcome, no matter the costs.

Pre-Hogwarts History
Born to Harrison and Laylah Lerimy, Elena is the middle child in a reclusive South Wales family. Growing up had been difficult for her, as she grew to despise the way her parents used magic. Both Harrison and Laylah maintained a consistent do-nothing demeanor. This led them to use magic as a crutch, and as a means to their ultimate goal of doing as little work as possible.
The majority of Elena's emotional and developmental support came from her grandmother. Though she regularly attended a muggle school, Anna Lerimy would have her granddaughter over whenever possible. These visits ultimately played a large part in creating Elena's faith in a simple principle: that success could be gained through self-sustainability.
Elena showed her first signs of magical power at ten years old, when she caused a piano to start playing on its own. It was a cause for celebration in her family, but no one knew of the emotions stirring within her heart. Just knowing she could create such a wonder was exhilarating, and she found herself wanting to be able to do more with magic. Thus, Elena's greed for magical power was born, and she concluded that power was the ultimate means to obtaining self-sustainability.
At eleven years old, Elena received her Hogwarts letter. Seeing her acceptance into the prestigious school as an opportunity to accumulate more magical power, Elena happily began making preparations. Anna Lerimy, still providing the majority of her granddaughter's emotional support, encouraged Elena to start thinking of jobs she'd like to have early on. With this in mind, Elena left for Hogwarts with a particular interest in potions-but still, a lust for knowledge that would further her abilities.

- Standing: Elena does not approve of her father's apathetic and reclusive lifestyle. As a consequence, Elena wants to interact with him less. Harrison does not appreciate Elena's judgmental nature. As a consequence, he mimicks her behavior, and talks poorly about her behind her back.

- Standing: Elena does not approve of her mother's apathetic lifestyle. As a consequence, she wants to interact with Laylah less. Laylah does not appreciate Elena's judgmental behavior. As a consequence, Laylah often feels scorned.

- Standing: Elena looks up to her grandmother for guidance and support. As a result, she wants to spend time with Anna as much as possible. Anna has taken Elena under her wing. As a result, she favors Elena over her other grandkids.

- Standing: Elena and Jonathan are on very good terms with one another. Elena likes to go exploring with Jonathan whenever the opportunity arises, while Jonathan likes to play pranks on Elena. As a result, they have grown close.

- Standing: Elena and Zoe are not, and have never really been, on good terms with one another. Elena sees Zoe as a disrespectful child who openly mocks their grandmother. Zoe sees Elena as a judgmental snob who doesn't understand people. As a consequence, the two have grown apart.
