ᛂᛚᛍᚮᛘᛂ ᛁᚿᛎ ᛘᛎ ᚮᚠᚠᛁᛍᛂHigh up in the sky, opposite if her classroom, a second, smaller room spiralled itself it the air. Most of the furniture has vanished for squared tabled, barely large enough to hold some papers with ingredients. The floor was covered with all kinds of fur and carpets. Some of them already had burnt stains or dirty marks, where one of the countless candles had dripped.
The resident, Béatrice Lydursdattir didn't care. She was told she could furnish the room, her room, however, she pleases and that she did. There were no corners, the whole room was round or at least rounded, which didn't bother her at all. Béatrice made some last adjustments to the rune circles she was painting for days now, and would most likely continue to draw throughout her stay. The crayon was brittle and wouldn't stay on the darkened wood too long.
Her walking stick was leaning at the entrance against the doorframe. In her own wall, she didn't mind to walk bent forward and had no need for it. She expected students to come in, at least sometimes. She offered it when she had come here. They could come to her, whenever they want, not only regarding school matters but also if they needed someone to talk to. Hogwarts was full of young children, so she didn't expect her office to be roamed, but at least she was prepared for some visitors. On one of the tables, a big bowl with unmoving chocolate frogs was waiting. She bought so many of them, fascinated by the colourful cards inside, and didn't know what else she should do with all the sweet chocolate that came with the cards. Chocolate was too sweet for her, she wouldn't eat them, but maybe one or two children were happy to take some bites.
She prefered bitter beverages or soups, rather than any kind of sweets. Her office was filled with clattering chains made of bones, with additional herbs attached to them, which she would use to make some food, drinks or simply to use them in some of her own little magic rituals.

You may start a thread in here if you need advice or simply someone to talk. Knock on my door and you will get opened. Béatrice is a quiet woman that loves her solitude, so she will be in her office most of the time if she does not teach what she loves most.

The Office
@Béatrice Lydursdattir | June 24th, Afternoon
It was warm. Like, really warm, t-shirt and shorts kind of warm. June was slowly coming to an end and July really brought the best summer weather. Opeila had already thought about copying Jack's project from first year and make a pool. Surely she could find a metal box somewhere to enlarge and she could ask Gris to help her with a water spell, right?
But so far she hadn't gotten to it yet. With June ending, the school year was ending and as always, Opeila faced the summer months with mixed feelings. If there was a summer camp, heck, she would join it without thinking twice about it, but she couldn't imagine that the Professors wouldn't send everyone home for at least a few weeks. That meant long days in Virtanen Manor, having her Finnish and etiquette freshed up. Nice.
One evening Opeila had thought of it for a while and the homesickness had really come out of nowhere. Quietly she had curled up in her bed, crying and cuddling Loras, who had immediately snuggled up against her. The next morning she had not been crying anymore, instead she had been quiet during the classes and meals, which was unusual for the normally quite sociable Slytherin. She missed her grandmother. Her father. Even her always absent-minded mother a little.
The Ancient Runes lesson on that day had made her think more. When the electives first had started, Opeila had been surprised that of all subjects Ancient Runes ended up being her new favorite. As a seer, Divination would have maybe made more sense, or maybe Muggle Studies, since the young Slytherin really liked Professor Galim. The Ancient Runes professor however, who's name Opeila occasionally had difficulties to pronounce correctly, intimidated her.
The young Slytherin had never sought out private conversation with the woman before and always made sure that her grades were fine, so there was no reason for the professor to address her privately either. But now, Opeila had finally gotten the courage together to visit her, on a very warm friday afternoon. Her hair was in her usual braid and she wore a white t-shirt with a black, short skirt as she knocked on the professor's door. In her hand she held a candle- Opeila had not dropped her new hobby of shaping candles since it had first peaked her interest two years ago and she had made one for the professor too. It was the shape of a rune- almost. Opeila had made sure to make it slightly different, just in case carving a rune out of a candle was dangerous too.
Now that she stood in front of her office with her little gift, she suddenly felt a little ridiculous about it.
