The Owl and the Window
Leon settled into his seat just a moment before the train doors closed. He'd managed to find a completely empty compartment, allowing him to sit in silence peacefully for a bit while the train moved. He pulled his hair out of the bun for just a moment, gathering all of the stray hairs and re-tying it into a perfect ponytail. He'd told his brother Sasha a million times to stop messing his hair up, but that never seemed to discourage the older boy. Really, nothing seemed to discourage Sasha. He'd been a Gryffindor as a student, and he was almost the exact definition of one. Bold, brave, and one of the most impulsive people Leon knew.
Everyone in his family was in a different house. His two older sisters - Claudia and Alice - were in Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, respectively, and one of his mothers had been a Slytherin while the other was a Gryffindor, living proof that opposites did indeed attract. It seemed fairly obvious what house Leon would be sorted into, although it had still been the topic of one heated dinner table argument between his siblings, with Sasha insisting that he was absolutely brave enough, he was just shy, while Claudia was determined to prove that there was no way he wasn't a Hufflepuff, and Alice proclaiming both of them complete idiots. Leon had just sat there and half-listened the whole time as he ate. It was nice that they all wanted him in their house, though he suspected that it was less about him and more about house pride, but he had to agree with Alice.
Leaning back in his seat, Leon pulled out his sketchbook and continued working on a detailed drawing he'd been doing of one of the birds he'd seen at the station. It was completely silent in his compartment. Until the boy heard a small thud from his suitcase beside him, followed by a very familiar hoot. He froze, and then slowly unzipped the suitcase.
Elowen, the family owl, stared back up at him.
"Elowen!" He scolded her, lifting the mischievous little owl out of his suitcase. "You are not supposed to be here, young lady. How did you even get in there?" Elowen, being an owl, ruffled her feathers and gave him a cheerful hoot! rather than a straightforward answer. Leon sighed and stood up, moving to the window. "Come on. You can't come with me, El, you have to go home." He attempted to open the window to no avail. Leon struggled with the window for a minute or two, unable to force it open, while the small owl watched him curiously. Finally, he took a step back and sighed. "I hope you know made me do this." He said to the owl seriously, before opening the compartment door just a crack and poked his head out, looking around for anyone in the halls who might be willing to help.

The Owl and the Window
Cassius Myrtle | First Year | Sept 1st, 2021[?]
_____________________The morning the Myrtle twins were supposed to board the Hogwarts express was a stressful one. Cassius couldn't figure out where his favorite sweater was while Simone decided she needed to spend her changing time finding their family cat for a good-bye hug. Not to mention when they finally waved goodbye to their parents on station 9 3/4 the boy nearly forgot his wand.
Cassius and Simone had only just boarded the train when Simone alerted him of a boy poking his head out of a compartment like one of those muggle 'smack-a-mole' games. How Simone knew what the hell a 'smack-a-mole' was was beyond Cassius. Nevertheless, both twins went ahead to step into the compartment of the boy who stuck his head out.
"Do you have to be this slow Cash?" Simone grunted, trying to get her and her suitcase ahead of her brother.
"Come on, you're just,-" Cassius's suitcase loudly thumped into the slim hallway's wall. He winced. "fine."
Simone pushed Cash's bulky suitcase out of the way and finally made her way to the front.
"Aye!" Cassius yelped dramatically.
"Please-!" Simone replied sticking out her tongue like a child as she knocked on the boy from eariler's compartment door trying to be polite. 206 words
