Taking to Dex, all of the memories of their first meeting flashed back. Getting the water dumped on her head, her knocking him down, his knife, turning him in, all of it. It happened so quickly but in her memories it seemed to take together.

As Dexter started talking, Bailey realized that he was actually apologizing. what? I did not expect him to apologize. Does he actually mean it? Or is he just joking? Does he actually want to be friends?? What’s I I say? What do I say???

Taking a breath, Bailey responded “Sure! I would love to be friends…”
She stood their, awkwardly, not knowing what to do. Now that she looked at him, he was actually kinda cute. His black hair and green eyes complemented his pale skin quite nicely.

no Bailey- no no no. Think of what he did to you! No don’t - let go of the past and your grudges

Bailey’s internal thoughts were driving her nuts, so she excused herself from their conversation, and hurried up to her dorm.
Changing into her pajamas, and reading, Bailey tried to take her mind off of Dexter and their encounter. Glad that they forgave and forgot, Bailey moved on, letting do of the past.

I yawned. I closed the book I was reading and sat up. It’s Saturday.I told myself. Wait. The pride errand is today! I jumped out of bed and quickly got dressed. I trotted down to the great hall, and slowed when I arrived. The Ravenclaw table was covered in rainbow foods. The Hufflepuff table was covered in art supplies, and the Gryffindor table was like a craft making stations, and it appeared that you grab supplies from the Hufflepuff table and go over to the Gryffindor table to work on your project. The Slytherin table was completely empty, except for a few people eating some cake. I walked over to the Hufflepuff table and closest to me was instructions in a neat scrabble on how to fold rainbow flowers. That doesn’t look that hard, I mean these instructions are very well detailed…
I decided to think about what pride means to me. Well lets see… my pronouns are she/her… I respect everyone about their gender status… I continued to fold the red flower and smiled when it was done. I grabbed a vase from the Hufflepuff table. I realized that I forgot the paper, so I ran back over and grabbed paper in all of the colors of the rainbow. I began folding flowers of every shade of the rainbow. The great hall was slowly emptying out, but there were still lots of people working on their decorations. I sighed and got back to work.
I folded for a long long time and I was finally done. I placed five rainbow flowers in the center of the vase and glanced around. Most people were decorating posters, and when they were done they put them in a big pile in the center of the room. There were a few people hanging the decorations, one person held it up with a spell and the other person used a gluing spell to glue it in place. I placed a rainbow of flowers around the big rainbow flowers. I used red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown, black and white. My vase was finally done. I stood up and stepped back and admired my work. Something’s missing. I thought. Hmmm… The vase is so plain… I thought. I looked around the room and spotted some glitter glue. I grabbed it because no one was using it. I drew different colored hearts all over the vase. I stepped back and admired my work. Perfect. It’s finally done. I was about to pick it up when I remembered the glue was still wet. Disaster avoided. I grabbed some paper and a black marker from the Hufflepuff table. On the paper I wrote:
𝓦𝓮𝓽 𝓟𝓪𝓲𝓷𝓽.
𝓓𝓞 𝓝𝓞𝓣 𝓣𝓞𝓤𝓒𝓗.
There. I thought as I stood back and admired my work one more time.

Colin smiled as the kittycat came over to sniff at his fingers and burying its face in his hand. Who would have guessed a wolf can be a cat person! he thought. It nudged at his hand and he scratched behind its ears. Colin smiled --- he well knew the simple pleasure a good ear scratch, and he often wished more people would give it a go!

"Mrrow-ow?" he cooed softly. He leaned his head over and rested it on the table and blinked slowly at the purring cat. He could see the cat's boy a short distance away, frowning. "I wonder why yon boy is frowning and fretting, KittyKat? Unless you've got his tongue? The bringer of jollity is himself most unmerry!"

Colin rubbed under the cat's chin as it purred. He saw as the pranky boy at last headed for his next victim. "No smile e'er hides the wounded heart, KittyKat! Though friend might salve the hurt and turn the frown contrary!"

He smiled, thinking of how he'd found so many friends at Hogwarts, from Quinn his first real friend here all the up to Leon, his newest friend. Colin determined that it was in them, the good hearts of his friends, where his true pride should be founded. He wondered who the pranky boy was and why he seemed so merry and so sorrowful all at once.

After a moment his thoughts were interrupted by yet another commotion in Kim's vicinity --- Colin sat up and turned towards the prideful girl he'd taken to calling Ridge. "Again, Ridge?" he said. Something about her peacockery and strutting hauteur rubbed Colin the wrong way. And now she'd used magic against the prankster. That was enough!

Colin climbed up onto the table so he could cross to the other side. He could see the broad swath of destruction wrought by the paint bomb --- an explosion of glitter and streamers all around ground zero and students with varying amounts of paint and crafting debris in their hair and clothing. Perhaps none worse than Sweets Girl herself, the one Ridge liked. If anyone deserved to leviosify the perpetrator it would be her!

As he got back down to the floor, he called over to Ridge: "Hey, queen of indignation! A little wand happy you seem to be? What happened to all the cold grace and haughty composure? If anyone should be foolishly waving her wand about, it's your glitter girl, there!" He nodded towards the Ravenclaw with a slight bow.

Colin turned to examine the levitated prankster. He poked the boy's shoulder playfully, sending him into a gentle spin.

When he turned his attention back towards the Gryffindor girl, he saw that the Ravenclaw was trying to calm her down. Maybe she'd be able to defuse the situation quickly. Just in case, and without really thinking things through properly, Colin stepped between the Queen of Ire and the Bringer of Jollity. "Ridge." Colin bowed towards the girl, then crossed his arms over his chest, clearly unarmed. "I'll wager that you're too honourable to strike me unarmed. Anyway, leave him be. You've neutralised the threat, so put your wand away." He laughed as he saw Ravenclaw trying to calm her friend down. "Or maybe use your magic to better purpose? Clean up your girl friend? She looks like she dove into a barrel of streamers, paint and glitterglue!"

Monica lay in her bed, eyes locked out the window, watching clouds as they pass by. She was adrift in her thoughts...and for some reason, she felt like she shouldn't be. There was something that tugged at her brain, like there was something missing.
She sat up and peered around the room. Nothing had to be tidied, nor did she have homework to do...What was she forgetting?
Then it dawned on her, just as her eyes fell back out the window. "DECORATING FOR PRIDE MONTH!"

That was it! She had heard it was happening, and was excited to lend a hand. Quickly she rushed out of her bed, grabbing her robe and shoes as she scurried out the door.
Making her way to the great hall, her pace slowed slightly as she could feel the chill atmosphere of the space. People quietly working away at cutting paper flowers, painting posters, hanging up various hand crafted decorations.
Each table seemed to be a station for different crafts you would want to work on. Monica thought long an hard. She had always loved decorating for school affairs back home. It was always a joy to have students come together, and collectively turn a given space into a work of art. And it was particularly special for pride month. The collaboration, and honoring people in who they are was so special, and Monica wanted to contribute her own piece to this month. But what was that piece?
She walked around the tables, glancing at what others had done, searching for inspiration. She stumbled by a girl who had just finished a beautiful vase of hand cut paper flowers. It was simple, but inspiring.
"Wow that is beautiful, you are very talented." Monica gawked at the work of art, Was that something she was interested in doing? Creating another vase of her own?
"I am having a little bit of trouble finding inspiration for what to work on myself...May I ask what inspired you with this piece?"

After I finished my vase, I decided to walk around, to look at other’s projects. I saw lots of cute drawings and paintings, but not many origami flowers. Maybe I should make another vase. I looked down at my hands and saw the paper cuts I had gotten from folding So. Much. Paper. Nope Nope Nope! I am NOT making another vase! I sighed and walked over to the Ravenclaw table. I skipped the snacks because, well, we had just had dinner. I grabbed a plate and took one of just about everything. I walked over to the Slytherin table and sat down and ate my food. I loved all of it, but my favorite had to be the rainbow roll cake with white cream frosting. It was SO good! I got back to my vase and was surprised to see a girl admiring it. When she noticed me she said:
“Wow that is beautiful. You are so talented.”
I was somewhat surprised at the nice complement.
“Err… Thanks!”
“I am having a little trouble finding inspiration for what to work on myself…May I ask you what inspired you with this piece?”
I was honestly a little surprised when she asked me this, because well it was the one that Professor Faron had suggested.
“Well, Professor Faron wanted us to make these…” I said, as I gestured over where she was standing. “She left instructions, and I was just about to put them back, so you can have them if you want.” I grabbed to show her the copy of instructions I had borrowed. “But the glitter glue was 100% my idea,” I said, wanting to take some of the credit. “You know what, It’s getting later, not that I don’t mind staying up past curfew, but my second idea will take a little bit, and since we are both late, do you want to work on it together?” I hoped with all my heart that she would decide to help me, as I didn’t want to create a massive banner all by myself. “My idea isn’t super complicated, we cut triangles out of paper and put pride flag stripes all over them. Like for one triangle we could do the classic rainbow flag,” I said as I gestured over to the giant pride flag hanging on the wall. “So do you want to do it with me?”

Monica stood, slightly embarrassed. Of course there were instructions.... And of course she hadn't read them. It wasn't the first time Monica had jumped into an activity, not ready any of the practical information past the title, and admiring whatever picture accompanied it. Why did she do that? It was always a fight she had at home with her mother, Monica always was joining some sort of club, or activity, and when the questions came about,"What time was it? Where was it happening? What are they doing?" Not one answer did Monica ever know. Perhaps it was time for her to break that habit, and pay more attention to what she was signing up for, and not just figure it out upon arrival.
Relief swept over her at the idea of working on a project together. That was what Monica was hoping for, to do some fun art projects with someone, it was always more fun then working alone.
"That sounds like a wonderful idea, I'm sorry, I guess I missed all the formalities about this whole thing, I got so excited about doing some decoration, I never bothered to read much past it was for pride month." Monica smiled, all while a pit dropped in her stomach, what a way to set a first impression. Not only did she show up late to this collaborative decorating activity, but she didn't even full know what was required. Why was it so hard for Monica to just take her time, read over things, before just jumping in.
The invitation for working together warmed Monica's heart, and the idea was quite fun as well.

"Oh I love that!" Monica quickly got to work picking out colours, and cutting out strips. She we carful to make every strip the same thickness. Creating a pile of every colour of the rainbow, plus some others.
She took a big sheet of paper, and sliced it into a triangle, as big as the paper would allow her to make it. Looking at all the colours, and choices she had to go with, she picked out the various shades of pink, with one strip of white. She layered the pinks from darkest to lightest, with the white strip placed in the centre of this arrangement. She took a step back, making small adjustments to insure that everything was evenly spaced out, and looked just the way she wanted it. Once she was satisfied with her work, she taped the edges together, and laid the cut out triangle on top of her strips of pink, then proceeded to trace out the shape of the triangle over them.
After cutting the strips to size, she finished by gluing her arrangement of colours, to her triangle... Perfect. Well nearly.
Taking inspiration from her new friend, she took some glitter, and sprinkled some all over her triangle flag.

Now it was perfect! Well at least, as perfect as Monica's skill could make it.
Looking over to her craft partner.
"What do you think? I think the glitter really does add that extra pazzazz to it!"

We got to work on the banner right away. My craft partner was the kind of partner you would actually want in a group project, one who actually does some of the work. We started cutting strips out of paper, and then cut giant triangles. I found a roll of twine and set it on the table, for when we would put all the triangles on the twine.
“What do you think? I think the glitter really does add that extra pazzazz to it!"
I looked over at her finished flag. It was covered in silver glitter that really made it unique.
“Wow! That looks awesome! Great job… er, whats your name again?” We had already been working together and we didn’t even know each other’s names. “I’m Cara by the way,” I quickly added.
So far we had 1 1/2 flags done. “I think we should do all the flags like that! With the glitter, I mean. after I finished my flag we decided to walk and look around, for some inspiration.
“Hey! Look at this poster! We can make all of these flags as banners!”
We quickly got back to work. I began making a Trans flag, while my partner began cutting more strips of paper in different colors so we would have plenty of choices. I went over to the professors table and taped one end of the string to the left side of the table. I walked all the way down to the end of the table and put a piece of tape around the string. There. Now we won’t make it to short. I got back to making flags for the banner.
One flag takes us about 5 minutes if we don’t have to cut up more paper. I started to do the math about how long it would take us to finish, but stopped so I could focus on gluing the strips of paper on straight. My partner was writing something on the back of her flags. I looked over.
𝒞𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓉𝑒𝒹 𝒷𝓎 𝑀𝑜𝓃𝒾𝒸𝒶 𝐸𝓋𝒶𝓃𝓈
𝐼𝒹𝑒𝒶 𝒷𝓎
“C-A-R-A,” I spelled out. “S-M-A-L-L-E-Y,” I finished spelling out. I looked over at her work and smiled. I wrote on the back of the banners I had created.
𝓒𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓽𝓮𝓭 𝓫𝔂: 𝓒𝓪𝓻𝓪 𝓢𝓶𝓪𝓵𝓵𝓮𝔂

I smiled and kept working.

After Dexter apologize, Bailey stood there for a moment looking pressured. Dexter stood there waiting for a response, when finally, she said she'd love to be friends with him. "Great." Dexter said. Then they stood there for a moment, and the awkwardness kept him silent. Bailey look at him for a while, and Dexter looked at her. Dexter notice that the ends of her hair dyed blue. It look nice. Now now that he was actually paying attention to her oh, he had to admit she was kind of pretty. As soon as that thought came in his mind, he turned away and took a drink of his beverage. Then Bailey excused herself from the conversation, and Dexter watched her f l e e the Great Hall. Dexter was a little discouraged by this, but he just sat down and continue decorating decoration. He looked around every once in awhile. He saw two people from the Quidditch Club he had started, Monica Evans and Colin McCoire. Calling was the one who teased him about his favorite Quidditch team. This was okay by Dexter, because one he knew he was joking, and to it took a lot more than that to offend him. But both of them looked busy. He decided to wait until Colin was done with his conversation.

"Oh my gosh, I am sorry, didn't even realize we didn't go through formalities." It was rather unfortunate, Monica had already felt so close to Cara, even though the idea of just learning her name Now, had just now come up. "I'm Monica...Evens. It's a pleasure to meet you!" She lifted her hand out for a friendly shake, and continued with the work.
Looking over at her partner, as she pointed out a poster hanging off to the side, "Oh that is a fantastic idea! This could end up being like a centre piece for the entrance? It will look splendid."
Monica finished her few triangles, and wrote on the back her name for the creator, but felt the need to give credit where credit is due. So she put down inspired by... C.A.R.A and as she was getting to the last name, she realized she didn't know it. She looked up and was about to ask, when Cara was already smiling at her, and spelling out her last name S.M.A.L.L.E.Y
Taking a step back to admire all the work that had been poured in, Monica felt quite proud of herself. She looked at what Cara had done, it was so stunning, and well crafted. Monica was so grateful to be working with such an eye for design.
"Wow, thank you so much for your help! This has been so much fun! I think I am going to call it a day for now, but it was a pleasure to meet you Cara, maybe we could meet up sometime and get to know each other a bit? If you want to of course."
