Alone... For Now
Alexx walked along the sides of the Great Lake, a comic book in hand. She hadn't had much luck fitting in, although she did like her roommates well enough. Nevertheless, she wasn't sure whether or not she would like to be alone or if she was hoping someone would strike up a conversation with her. Everything was so confusing. She came to Hogwarts with much enthusiasm, and while there was no doubt that she belonged here with everyone else, and that this was certainly better than home, she couldn't help but feel misplaced.
Sighing, she chose to sit down on a dry dock, the area being empty aside from a few groups of students who were chatting or studying. She liked this area. It was quiet and pretty. No one too loud would come to these parts, those types were meant for the Great Hall. If she were to make any friends here, it would be someone whose personality was similar to her own.
She didn't bother to open her comic book. Instead, she set it beside her, forgetting about the laminated pages quickly. The view had trapped her in a moment of tranquility. She dreamed of having someone, a friend, to share this with. Something this beautiful and peaceful needed to be shared between two people. Two poetic, artistic friends.

Alone... For Now
Analia ducked under a tree branch, heading to the Great Lake. There was something calming and mystical about it- though everything here seemed mystical, this place seemed the most so. She could see the body of water not that far off from the area she traveled to get to it. She didn’t like the trail that was already set up, it being crowded and usually bleeding with people. The first-year preferred to be alone. It was ironic, that someone that valued solitary and hated getting to know people was selected in Hufflepuff- the friendliest and most sociable of the four.
Her hair caugh on a branch that was lower than she thought. Wincing, Analia unsnagged the wavy brunette strands. She sighed as she continued on. She was almost there, just going behind a bush before arriving to her destination. Her hazel eyes scanned the area. She always settled down at a certain dock-by herself-to admire the view of the lake. Even as she was walking towards the area, she made an attempt to hide the yellow linings on her robes. She was deeply embarrassed of being a Hufflepuff. Who wouldn’t? As the half-blood was a few steps away from the dock, she noticed someone sitting there. As far as Analia was concerned, this was her sacred place, someone where she could escape. ”Get out.” She snapped, a harsh tone in her voice. The girl didn’t care of how the figure reacted, as long as they got out of her spot.

Alexx perked up, hearing the harsh words being spat at her. She turned her head, narrowing her eyes at the brunette figure.
"I can't 'get out' of an unenclosed area. As a matter of fact, who do you think you are telling me what to do?" The blonde questioned, turning her body to face the girl. She sat Indian-style, looking up at the figure. It felt rather rude to invade one's privacy without officially addressing yourself, and on top of that, the nerve of this girl! "I'm very certain that you don't own this space."
The blonde was witty and sarcastic, finding comedy to be the best resort. Everyone could agree with comedy. Although she looked pale and dead in the face, Alexx was more lively than one would imagine. So much so that it didn't bother her if she said something offensive to a total stranger, it was just part of her comedic and outgoing nature. And this girl had been the least bit intimidating, so it didn't bother her any.
"Aren't Hufflepuff's supposed to be the kind ones?' She asked sarcastically, chuckling a little bit. Her green eyes met those of the brunette's, which were hazel. Alexx wouldn't give up this spot that easily.

Alone... For Now
She was expecting her to go willingly. Most people did, after all. Yet the Slytherin seemed to hold her ground. Something that Analia would admire, if it wasn’t directed towards herself. At her words, she stiffened. She hated when people “disrespected” her. Didn’t the girl know that she came from a long line of pure-bloods? Except for herself, that is... but never mind that. Even if she wasn’t one herself, the figure in front of her was still insulting a member of one of the most prestigious family in Wales.
”Sorry, let me rephrase that. Get. Up. Now.” She shot back. She wasn’t the... friendliest person. Or the most patient. She glared at the blonde-haired girl in front of her. ”And you don’t either.” It wasn’t the best comeback that she could’ve come up with. Not even close. Yet she still said it. Analia spotted a “book” on the ground. A comic. A muggle comic. A Slytherin, reading something made by muggles? There must of been a mistake in her sorting ceremony. Just like she believed there was of hers.
She opened her mouth to speak before the girl said something else. ”Weren’t Hufflepuffs supposed to be nice?” The eleven-year-old clenched her fists. Hufflepuff. She came from a long line of Slytherins, and was expected for her to become on as well. But no. She was the “worst” house. And unbeknown to the Slytherin in front of her (or maybe somehow she knew) she was rubbing it in. Her eyes flashed with anger before changing to a forced-calm state. It was still a sensitive subject about the house that she was, and to her a blade cutting through her pride and family’s honor.

”Sorry, let me rephrase that. Get. Up. Now.” The Hufflepuff demanded. Alexx stifled a laugh, finding the situation at hand rather humorous. ”And you don’t either.”
"That is correct," Alexx started, nodding. "I don't. But, let me rephrase my statement since we're being specific: No." The blonde insisted, a devilish smirk heavy on her pale face. "I don't know who you are or why you keep assuming that I will do whatever you tell me, but I'm not the one." Alexx informed her, almost tauntingly. Situations like this amused the blonde to no end. She found joy in letting people know that she was very cunning.
As she waited for a response, she began to size the Hufflepuff up. Seemingly average height, a lot of will in her, and a fiery attitude. It resembled that of a Slytherin's, but Alexx was sure there was a reason this girl was a Hufflepuff. She knew nothing else about her and didn't intend on getting to know her at the moment. She seemed more like the type to want people to do as she asks. She'd be very disappointed when she figured out that Alexx couldn't be pushed to easily. It took more than an unthreatening demand to get through the blonde.

Alone... For Now
Analia was starting to get annoyed, for sure. What was so hard about following a simple order? Get up and go. It was quite easy, actually. Was that... amusement in the other girls eyes? Amusement? What was so funny about this situation. Was she... toying with her? She bit the inside of her cheek.
As the blonde spoke, there was no mistake in her wit. And that the half-blood couldn’t help but hate her tone.
”The reason why I keep assuming you will do as I say is because you will. Simple She replied. She was used to get anything at the snap of her fingers. Now, out of nowhere, someone was refusing to do it. And mocking her all the while. The Hufflepuff didn’t even know what to make of this situation. She didn’t want to come off as a stuck-up jerk- even if she may be sometimes- to one of the first people she was to meet at Hogwarts. She really didn’t.
But here she was, fighting with someone- who she couldn’t help but be jealous of due to her house- over something as trivial as a spot. Just perfect, everything she wished and dreamed her adventure at Hogwarts would be. Analia didn’t want to back down. Even if she wasn’t the best at “arguing”, she didn’t want to give up something she made an impression of wanting-even if she did. Though, the way the other girl smirked made her suddenly want to smack her across the face. She fought the urge to, not wanting to get in trouble so early on in the school year. Oh, how horrible that would be. And even more so when she would have to tell her pure-blood family about it.

"I won't, actually. I can't believe that you, even after I stated that I won't, still think that I'm going to take orders from you. You're so spoiled, grow up. Not everything in life is handed to you." Alexx hadn't meant to make that last bit personal, but it hit pretty close to home for her. She had never been gifted with anything she wanted, simply because of choices her family made long before she came along. Still, she held her guard, being strong-willed and stubborn. This girl just wouldn't let up.
"Now, if you can stop being so demanding and acting like the world revolves around you, you are more than welcome to share this spot with me. But if you're too good to share some pieces of wood, then run along and boss around someone else." The blonde girl offered. She wouldn't mind, truthfully, sharing the dock with the girl. Not even after all this grief that she's given her. But she certainly wouldn't stand to be pushed around. "I don't know what you're going through that's made you so angry, and I don't care, but let me tell you this; you're not the only one having a hard time."
