"Eevee asked me if I wanted to go with him, the next time they had a game. You can sit with us, if you'd like. I know we're all from different houses, but it's okay, right? I think it's okay, anyway? I never understood it much. Most of the people in my house don't really talk to me, probably onacount of where I come from. I guess it's a big deal to them, you know? Who your family is? But I think if they met mine, they'd probably change their minds. Especially Pringle."

She smiled brightly, and took hold of her thing again, biting the edge of her lip as she considered his question, "I haven't, yet. But I think I might ask about it, soon. I'd really like to learn. I... I'm a bit afraid of it, to be honest, flying. But I suppose that's more because I've never really done it before." Chuckling, she shrugged, "And it does seem sort of like a bike... Except there's no peddles... and hey! We wouldn't have to worry about hills. My brother Auggie flipped his bike a few months ago, and rolled all the way down Baker's Hill. He still had some scabs from it."

"I'm not sure how it works, however I'd definitely like to sit next to you guys!" Constantine grinned. He wondered if his disappointment in the way stands were separated was evident, due to the fact Maisy had picked up on it. He wouldn't be entirely surprised, as he'd been told he wore his heart on his sleeve. "I'm certainly interested in meeting your friend, too; it seems like you have a lot of nice things to say about him." He added. Any chance to meet a new friend was a good one, in his eyes. The Hufflepuff was briefly confused by Maisy's statement, before eventually putting two and two together. "Oh, because you're muggle-born? Don't worry about them and all their pureblood elitist nonsense, they don't know what a nice person they're missing out on." Constantine huffed, clearly annoyed by those who thought of themselves higher than the rest.

" I'm sure you'll be fine! The Professor will take care of you, I'm sure. Er, well, I hope so, or else I might be in a spot of trouble." He laughed. It was true, there weren't many things that you could bump into, as long as you stayed away from the castle itself. "I see. I guess clumsiness runs in the family, then? Constantine quipped playfully, "Though I do hope he's alright, sounds like quite the tumble."

"Excellent! I'll tell Yvaine next time I see him. I'm sure he'll be thrilled. And I think you'll get along! I wonder if he has a dog... I don't think he ever said." Tapping her chin, she looked over at him again, laughing softly, "Yeah. Eevee was really nice to me my first night here. I... I didn't know anyone and I was sort of upset about being put in Slytherin, mostly cause everyone was saying... well... you know what they say."

He did, indeed, confirming it a moment later, and she nodded, "Yeah... I try not to let it bother me. Honestly, the best way to win someone over is to show them they're wrong about you, anyway. If I get mad about it or I'm mean right back to them, well... what are they gonna think except they're basically just right." Smiling softer, she shrugged, "I got a letter the first week I was here... I don't know who sent it, but, well... Basically, it wasn't very nice, and for a little while I was scared. But I'm not anymore. I've got loads of friends, and that's all I really need."

He went on and her laughter bubbled up again as she nodded, "I'd hope so, too. I haven't met him, yet... But I'm sure they wouldn't hire a professor who doesn't know what he's doing." Shifting her belongings to the other arm, she shook her head.

"Auggie's actually really good on his feet. Not like me. He just... there was a bump, I guess, and he went head over... Mum nearly had a heart attack over it. Thought he broke his neck. It was pretty scary, but he's okay, now. Do... do you have any siblings?"

"I wish I was as level headed as you are." Constantine concluded, "If someone had sent me a letter like that, I'd be fuming. And I'm quite ticked off that people would do such a thing nowadays, too." He rebuked, his face knitted into a frown. If only he could somehow track down such people. Constantine's face softened slightly, he was glad Maisy was able to get past it, even if he couldn't. "Maybe you should report things like that to a teacher? They might take it seriously." He offered - despite being a Hufflepuff, he had quite the vengeance for those that insulted his friends.

Constantine seemed to light up at the mention of siblings. "I have a brother! His name is Montgomery, but I call him Monty, and he's super cool! He works for the Ministry of Magic as an Auror!" He beamed proudly, fondly recalling the moment Monty had come home to announce the good news. There was a short pause, before he spoke again, this time a little more glumly. "Oh, I have a sister, too. Her name is Adelaide, she's a broomstick maker. We don't, I mean, we haven't been in contact lately..." Constantine trailed off, before realising he'd been a little too sullen, "I guess you can tell my parents like complicated names, huh?" He joked, an attempt to lighten the mood again.

"It was rather terrible, and to be perfectly honest, I had a decent cry over it, once I realized what it was. But Mum used to say that people always act that way when they're scared of something new or something they don't understand. It's easier to make fun of someone or be nasty to them, than try to understand who they are." A shrug lifted her shoulders, that nearly unseated her things again, but with a quick scramble she caught hold of them again, "I thought about going to the teachers, but I did something else, instead. I... I just hope I don't get in trouble."

Smiling a little conspiratorially, she looked away, "I wrote to the Slytherin paper. It's what the letter told me to do, the people who wrote it. They threatened that if I didn't, they'd... well, it wasn't very nice. But I didn't write what they said. No... Mum wouldn't have been proud of me for that, at all. She'd tell me to use it for something good, and I think... well, I hope that I did, anyway."

Rolling into the topic of siblings, she smiled as well, listening as he explained about his own, "They certainly do seem to like long ones, don't they. But they're all very nice. We're all named after aunts and uncles and grandparents, me and my brothers and sisters." She chuckled, but it was brief, and as she continued, it was slightly softer, "...You... don't talk to your sister much, then?"

Constantine couldn't help but laugh, imagining Maisy doing anything remotely culpable was a funny concept in itself. He had to admit, she'd had a smart way of getting her own back - Constantine would've probably dealt with the letter in a less than logical way. "Wow, I'm surprised you'd do such a thing, not that I disapprove of it." The Hufflepuff snickered, glad that Maisy wasn't above retaliation. Sometimes, you just have to put your foot down. "I think you'll get away with it, and even if they held you accountable, it's not like you were being unreasonable. It's a simple 'eye for an eye' scenario, y'know?" Constantine reassured.

"That must be nice, being named after someone. That is, providing they have a nice name. Wouldn't want to be named after someone called 'Gertrude' or something." Constantine chortled. However, as much trouble as it caused him, he did like his own name. The Hufflepuff thought for a moment, to try and explain clearly, though the relationship between him and his sister was about as transparent as the murky depths of the Great Lake. "No, I don't speak to her. Well, I haven't, actually. Not since I was ten. Um, but I do try, though. Monty won't owl her for me, with their little row and all that....I've owled her, but she hasn't replied... " He mumbled the last part, his voice wavering ever so slightly. "Guess there's a lot of traffic in the sky, the owls must be a bit congested..." Constantine half-heartedly joked.

"Who knows... maybe that's why I ended up in Slytherin. It was awfully cunning, wasn't it? Wow. I never actually thought... That's sort of funny, isn't it?" Grinning, she shook her head, "But I don't think I'll get in trouble for it, either. Especially since I didn't write anything mean. Really, I just wanted them to understand that we're not bad people, those of us who are from Muggle homes. We're all just the same, inside."

She chuckled, nodding as he went on, "Yeah. I was named for my Aunt May, but Mum didn't think that would hold with the times, so she added more to it. My middle name is Elizabetta, after my other grandmother, so I'm just full of old fashioned names."

As he explained about his sister, the smile faded and she lowered her gaze, biting the edge of her lip, "Oh. That... I'm sorry. That doesn't sound like it's a very nice situation, at all. My dad and my Uncle Bill weren't speaking for a really long time, cause Uncle Bill stole some money from dad's shop. But we found out he was having some trouble at home and Dad forgave him. I hope that things get better... You know... with traffic, and all."

"I think it'd be interesting to be from a muggle home, to be honest." Constantine declared, "Despite all the teasing, you really have it best. You understand the muggle world, and you'll get to learn the Wizarding world while you're at Hogwarts. Whilst I still struggle to get on the bus." He laughed. Constantine didn't know what he would do without his parent's floo powder, or the occasional apparition.

"To be honest, my name doesn't feel that complicated now. Or old." Constantine quipped with a smile, "I kid, but I think it's nice that you were named after family members. If push comes to shove, at least you can use it as an icebreaker."

"Ah, thanks, but you don't need to be sorry." Constantine reassured, shaking his head, " It's been going on for a while, so really, I shouldn't be bothered by it." Of course he was sad that he hadn't talked to his sister, or that his siblings weren't as tightly knit as they had been, but sometimes it was just the way things were. He didn't particularly feel that he should guilt Maisy with his sob story, either, so perhaps he'd keep troubles like that under wraps from now on.

"It's definitely different. I like knowkng the things I know, even if not a lot of people really care to hear about those things here. And I love learning things about this world, too. It's sort of like the best of both, you know? Except, well... except for the ones who just aren't very nice about it. But I don't think anything I do would help there, even if I didn't talk about home... So why stop." Looking over at him, she smiled a bit, "But uh... If it helps, I have the worst luck on the bus, myself."

He continued and she laughed, nodding. Her name was old fashioned, but it wasn't halfway the strangest she'd heard. His wasn't, either, "Seems like a lot of kids around here are named after someone, though. Maybe that's why yours and Yvaine's just don't seem so hard to say. I still don't know what to call half the professors."

Biting her lip, she turned ahead again, as they neared the top of the stairwell, "Well, I'd understand if it did bother you. Even though my family sometimes annoys me, I'd be really sad if I couldn't talk to one of them. You should keep trying with your sister. Who knows... Maybe she'll write back and surprise you!"

"I can agree with you there! I tend to just call everyone Professor and be done with it." He admitted sheepishly. It made sense, though, considering that most of the teachers had utterly complex names - most of which he couldn't remember. He'd be lying if he said he wasn't dreading potions solely because of the Professor's unpronounceable name. "I just hope they don't mind too much."

"I hope so, and I'll certainly keep trying, though it won't be the end of the world if she doesn't." Constantine agreed. He was used to getting no reply now, though there was always a small part of him that contained an ignorantly optimistic hope. Maybe he'd ask Monty at some point, to possibly elaborate on the details of their falling out. It was weird that they'd suddenly shut each other of like that, considering they used to be so close. "You said you had a brother, Auggie, right? Is he your only sibling?" Constantine asked. Most people here had more than one sibling, so it wouldn't be unusual for Maisy have more. He couldn't imagine having any less siblings than he did - growing up, they were his main support, aside from his parents.
