"It's nice to meet you, too!" And not just because he had returned her beloved picture. He seemed like a very nice boy, Constantine. Maisy was beginning to think, if fact, that the best place to meet the nice sorts of students was the Small Hall. Or perhaps she'd simply gotten lucky. Either way, she'd be found with no complaints.
"It does sound a bit old..." She said with a laugh, her nose wrinkling up, "But I'm named after my Great Aunt May, so I can't really talk. And anyway, Constantine isn't too hard to say, right? I've got a friend Yvaine, and everyone calls him Eevee, but that's my favorite Pokemon, so I don't mind it." Tipping back onto her heels, she shook her head as he went on, "I've never heard of it... but if it's in the Library, I've probably got it in my room. I think I've borrowed just about every book they have."
The topic returned to dogs and her smile brighteed more as she listened, eagerly, "Oh! I had no idea you could make Wizard dogs. What even is a Wizard-breed? Do they do magic? It sounds absolutely amazing! I wish we had a house big enough for more dogs, but Pringle is about all we can fit." Looking at the picture again, she nodded, "Beddlingtons are a funny sort... Look a bit like lambs, they do. Or at least that's what Mum says."

"It's not too hard to say, just a little longer than most people can be bothered for." Constantine responded. Ever since he'd been at Hogwarts, his name hadn't been a problem; as Maisy had mentioned, many people had unusual names, some he had never heard of before. However, at his muggle school, he hadn't been so lucky. Whilst his friends could get it right, his math teacher had dubbed him 'Clementine', and it stayed that way no matter how many times he reinforced that his name was, in fact, Constantine. He simply shuddered at the thought.
"Pokemon? Is that a muggle game?" Constantine asked. He was vaguely familiar, from his understanding it was a series centered around battling creatures, most notably an electric yellow rat. Or at least, that was what he'd picked up from his time at school. The Hufflepuff had scarcely played any video games, aside from the infrequent visits to a friend's house. His favourite was probably Nintendogs, which he'd been introduced to by his classmate's sister, for obvious reasons. Something about naming imaginary dogs after his real dogs just appealed to him. Growing up in a wizarding household, he never really had a need to entertain himself with electronics, so Constantine was quite clueless when it came to genres and popular franchises.
"Well, they aren't really any different from regular dogs, to be honest." Constantine explained, thinking of the obvious differences. "It does have a forked tail, though they have to be painlessly docked in order to keep them undiscovered in muggle society. It's quite unfortunate, however Crups are also quite ferocious towards muggles. But, our Crups have been trained to be less feisty when in contact with them." Constantine beamed, clearly proud of himself. He was aiming towards eliminating this nasty streak completely, yet dulling the instinct was a start.

"Ah! Yes, sorry. I still forget that not everyone knows about it. It's so weird for me, because everything I know isn't much use here, but it's been a really fun time, learning about all this new stuff. My pictures don't even move... I had no idea they even could." Bending down, she started to collect her things, piling them all together before straightening upright again.
"Oh, wow. They sound really neat. I've never hears of them, but I'd love to see one! Pringle was a little nippy when we first rescued him. His previous owner was a mean old man who hit him with a cane. He still gets scared sometimes if he seems a broom or... Oh man. I'd better be careful around him if I ever get a riding broom."
Not that she imagined she'd be gettimg one any time soon. She was a wreck enough with both feet on the ground. No doubt flying around on a broom she would be an absolute unimitgated disaster. Though the idea of it was thrilling... All the same.
Considering this, she shook her head, "You seem awfully nice, though. I'm sure you'll find a way to clear all that nastiness out of them in no time at all."

"Ah! I'll have to get my parents to find a picture of the Crups! That way you can see them in a moving picture! I'll make sure that they pick one of the dogs doing the tricks I've taught them!" Constantine said gleefully, Maisy's talk of moving pictures giving him the idea. He was going to offer help in gathering up all the pictures, but it seems she had it all under control. The red robed portrait was still present, however his worried look had all but disappeared.
The Hufflepuff saddened slightly, as he listened to Pringle's history. He would never understand why people were mean to their pets, let alone hurt them physically. "Well, I'm very glad to hear he's with you now, I just know you take good care of him." Constantine replied, before moving on to talk about broomsticks. "I've been on a broom before, just barely. I was helping my sister test it out - needless to say, I definitely need a lot more practice." He laughed. Constantine liked the idea of flying, though he'd most probably never get into flying competitively like you would in Quidditch. He'd much rather do it for leisure, or to get places faster.
"I'm glad you think so!" Constantine replied, somewhat bashfully.

Hugging her things to her chest, Maisy nodded and beamed brightly at the idea, "That would be wonderful! I've been reading about all the creatures here, but I haven't gotten to that chapter, yet. It's all so fascinating! My friend Eevee, his... Let's see... His uncle's friend's brother-in-law, I think it was... He works with dragons, and Eevee got to see one a while back! I want to, some day. See a dragon, but it's probably a good idea I start with something smaller."
Moving away from the pictures at last, Maisy adjusted the stack of pictures and letters. As she started for the staircase, she glanced over to Constantine, "He's a big kitten, now. For the most part anyway. I do wish I could have brought him along. I understand we're allowed pets, but something tells me they don't mean anything quite so big as a dog. Plus, it wouldn't be much fun having to walk him, what with that spooky forest and the lake and all."
With a small laugh, she shook her head, "I'm not exactly the most coordinated person on the planet. Mum says I'll manage when I grow into everything, but I'm not so sure. I'm a bit worried about Flying lessons... Quidditch does sounds exciting, though, doesn't it?"

Constantine had always wanted to see a real life dragon. He'd seen them in the paper, and in his favourite books. His favourite was by far the Chinese Fireball; a red and gold dragon with a distinctive mushroom-shaped flame. "He's so lucky! I hope to meet a dragon one day, too!" Constantine replied hopefully.
"I don't think I'd enjoy bringing my Crups to Hogwarts." He contemplated. They were notorious for chewing up anything they could get their paws on, which wouldn't bode well considering that the castle held a lot of precious and valuable items. "There's just too many to pick from, and it's not like I could bring all of them." Constantine laughed. It was funny to imagine him dashing about the corridors, an army of Crups at his feet. However, it was far from practical.
"I've been told I'd be a good beater, though I think I'd rather just watch." Constantine admitted, "Sometimes I get a little too competitive, and I think I'd feel guilty knocking someone off of their broom after I'd done it." He laughed. However, Constantine would most certainly cheer on his team as they played a match, it'd be nice to see the Hufflepuffs win in person once in a while. "Do you see yourself playing in the future?"

"Right!?" She chimed in, brightly, "Oh, it would be brilliant! They must be so terrifying, but I don't think I could think of anything more exciting! Eevee said they're as big as the Great Hall! Could you imagine?" There was nothing, decidedly, that she wanted more than to someday see one...
As he continued, she laughed softly, shaking her head, "I imagine they'd be a bit wily, but it would be a funny thing. And I bet they'd love all the open space. Who knows... maybe some day, Hogwarts will let us! But if not, I guess we've got our pictures..." They didn't exactly do the trick, but there were better than nothing.
"Beater is... that's the defense, right? They're the ones who keep the other players safe?" She'd had a bit of it explained, and what Yvaine hadn't been able to tell her, she'd studied in the Quidditch Through the Ages book, "I'm guessing if you're on the Quidditch team, getting knocked off your broom is sort of just... what you expect to happen. But yeah... I think I'd feel pretty terrible about that, too." Shaking her head, she shifted the belongings in her arms to a more comfortable position, "I've never actually seen a game, but I hear it's wicked. I don't think I'd be very good at it. Maybe, though... It'd be worth seeing, right?" Tripping on one of the steps, she staggered forward, catching herself on the banister, but not without losing the items she was carrying, "Oof! Darn. Hm." Looking to Constantine, she bit her lip and her nose wrinkled with a dry smile, "Then again, maybe not..."

"Yup, that's right. Though I've heard that it hurts to be hit by a Bludger - I bet it hurts more when you hit the ground, however." He chuckled. Whilst the idea of playing a team sport was interesting, the thought of being knocked off of his broom and landing in a heap on the pitch wasn't all too appealing. Or rather, the broken bones that came along with it. Constantine had heard that it was fairly simple issue to mend, but he didn't fancy spending time in the hospital wing to find out.
The Hufflepuff nodded, "I haven't seen a game, either. My Dad's proper into Quidditch, but my Mum says she doesn't want me getting any ideas from it. To give her credit, it's quite the step up from when I used to play Football at my old school." Constantine laughed. In his experience, Muggle games weren't half as dangerous as Wizarding ones - although that could be said for most things. He blinked back his surprise as Maisy tripped up the stairs, a feat that he'd never seen anyone else accomplish. The Hufflepuff bent down to pick up her belongings, hastily scooping them up so that they wouldn't be trampled by any students on their way down the stairs. "I think it's worth the try, you might be good at it with a little practice," He said, picking up a few more slips of paper, "And if it comes to the worst, we can be in the Hospital Wing together." Constantine jested, shuffling the paper into a neat pile.

"Ooof, yeah. It can't feel good... and I'm sure that's not something that can always be avoided. Though maybe the games here aren't as intense..." She'd read about a few accidents that had occurred in professional matches and they sounded horrendous, but surely Hogwarts took more precautions with the students.
As she straightened and thanked him for gathering her things, she shook her head, "I've seen a few rugby matches with my brothers, but I don't think they're too similar. Still, I hope we get a match here, soon. It'd be a thrill to see one for real…” The pictures in the book she has read moved, like most did in Hogwarts, but it wasn't quite the same feel, she was sure.
When he went on, she laughed and nodded, “Maybe I will, then. Even if I did end up in hospital, at least it'd be an experience, right. And Mum always says it's the experience that matters... Not what you get out of it." Frowning in thought, she shook her head, "I missed tryouts for this year, and… Well, I imagine you've got to have at least some time on a broom, but there's always next year. I wonder if we're allowed to practice. I should ask the flying professor!"

Constantine yet again handed over her things with a smile, seemingly not bothered by Maisy's clumsiness. "I'll have to ask about for possible dates, a match can't be far off I'm sure." He stated, certain. The Hufflepuff had never stood in the stands before, yet he imagined it would be rather cramped. As long as he wasn't jostled about, Constantine reckoned he'd be able to watch the match comfortably. Although, he hadn't made many friends inside his house, so it would be a tad bit lonely in the Hufflepuff stands.
Despite displaying an interest in Quidditch, he'd be a fool to tryout, considering he had little to no practice on a broomstick. Perhaps he could get his sister to teach him - that is, if she responded. "I'd assume they wouldn't be against it - have you had your first flying lesson yet? It may be a good time to ask." He offered. Constantine hadn't had his, yet, however he'd have to get a move on soon. After all, he didn't want to be in his Seventh Year and still not know how to fly a broom. "Can't be too difficult to learn, can it? I imagine it's like riding a bike, but a bit more complicated."
