Morning owls and breakfast
Holly was sitting at the Ravenclaw table, she felt as though she had been awake hours, she’d been up late the previous night reading a book she’d borrowed from the library on charms. That book currently lay open on the table in front of her as she ate her bowl of cereal, there was a piece of parchment that seemed to be filled with messy scribbles
She placed the quill behind her ear as she turned the page, she seemed entirely focused on her book, barely paying any mind to the talk around her, even from her fellow Ravenclaw’s
She did enjoy getting ahead in homework but this was some reading that wasn’t for homework, she just enjoyed learning, especially when it came to Charms, which just so happened to be her favourite subject of the school year
She finally glanced up from her book when she heard the sounds of the morning owls gliding in through the windows, dropping packages and letters in front of students. She was about to assume that there was nothing for her when an envelope fell in front of her and she closed the book before pulling it closer to her
The envelope was thick and covered in curly lettering that spelt out her name and she knew immediately who it was from, she started to put it in the pocket of her robes to read in the privacy of the dormitory
