Colin reacted to Pax's nicknames.
Why were they all food related? It kind of made him hungry a little.
Kim actually loved carrot cake and ginger snaps. Dollface. He supposed it suited her but the pink haired boy much preferred Precious to Dollface. After all, Gem was a precious gem. It completely fit her. Colin seemed to go off into his own little world soon afterward. The words he spouted made Kim raise a brow. And then he asked for all their opinions. Well, not his. And the boy wasn't the type of person who would try to ever force his opinion onto someone.
After all, if they hadn't asked for his opinion, they must not want it.
Colin suddenly sprang towards Precious and grasped her hands with his own.
It made Precious squeak and Kim smirked, being reminded of Puffie back at the dorms. He needed to get him some more treats soon. Kim watched as Colin and Precious seemed almost about to kiss and he raised a brow. That was when Sophia suddenly reacted to this scene and even said the word 'wait' and Kim tilted his head to the side. Why would Sophia care about them? Wait, had his initial impression been correct? Was Sophia really into Colin like that?
And then, the moment was over and Colin was asking for their opinions. Kim regarded Precious as she leaned back in her chair and noticed her face was a bright red hue.
Girls seemed to get flustered very easily it seemed, he thought with a shake of his head.
What was going on here? He wasn't quite sure what Sophia was up to until the girl spoke Jarael's name. Ah, so she was pretending Kim was Eyes of Sky. Okay, he could play along and he closed his eyes briefly to get into character. When he opened them, he was already immersed in what he knew of the girl called Eyes of Sky by Colin. Kim tilted his head to the side and a sudden smile came to his lips. Smiling was unlike him. But now he wasn't himself.
An almost mad gleam came into his eyes and they sparkled for a moment. "Snakey boy!" He exclaimed and licked his lips, staring down at the one who had kissed his knuckles.
As Sophia went on to recite the poetry to him, Kim continued to act as Eyes of Sky.
"Ooh. Eyes, eyes... need them to see. Heart's hushed secret in soft green eye. Matters?" Kim said as his eyes flickered back and forth a bit. And suddenly his voice turned into a sing-song style of speech. "Destroy me! Hell kinda bores me!" He smiled again and regarded Sophia for a moment. "Deep in earth, love is lying. I must weep alone." Kim paused and the boy giggled. "You love my insides? Parts you can't see?" He asked.
"Sing. Sing! Eyes of green, green as grass. Slime no longer." Kim said in a sing-song voice again. "Snakey boy. Wonders what?" He finished and cleared his throat, returning back to normal. The boy didn't know Eyes of Sky but he'd overheard her countless times talking to others. He'd gotten a bit too into this whole impression. It was kind of outside his comfort zone but hopefully he'd portrayed her well enough. She was quite interesting to him.
Now, Kim felt a bit awkward.
He hadn't meant to go so deep into the character he'd been trying to portray for Sophia.
"Yes. Sophia is right, Snak-Irish." Kim said, trying to separate from his impression he'd done and return back to his usual self again. He just needed some time now.

Outfit: Yellow, no bag【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】Gem slowly massaged her cheeks, as if she was trying to rub the redness away. Her heart was still beating a million miles a minute, so she anxiously looked for something to distract her from her frazzled thoughts.
Luckily, Sophia rose from her seat, as did Kim. Gemima watched curiously as Sophia picked up the poem, giving an encouraging smile to Colin as she went to stand in front of Kim.
Gem gave a small huff of amusement as Sophia took Kim's hands in her own. Ms. Jarael?
So they were going to take part in a bit of roleplay, then? This ought to be interesting. She slowly leaned forwards in her seat and observed quietly as the two engaged in a slightly Shakespearean encounter.
Part of her bristled when Sophia pressed a kiss to Kim's knuckles. But her jealousy was quickly forgotten as the latter tried his hand at reciting his own impromptu poetry. It was a mite rocky, to be honest, the words were awkward, the verses not quite stringing together as smoothly as Colin's little sonnet. She still smiled and giggled all the same--there was Kim for you!
Once they had finished, Gem applauded politely, a genuine beam spreading across her still pink cheeks. "That was brilliant, you two! A perfect example of how to approach a lady, I must say." She turned to Colin.
"Feeling a bit more confident now, I hope? You've won me over, for starters." She hummed, gazing out over the table.
In that moment, it felt like they were a group of friends again, and her heart was full.
She sighed contentedly and clasped her hands together.
"Did you need anything else from us, Colin? It looks to me like you're pretty well prepared to execute this plan of yours..."

Pax watched with a raised eyebrow as the four individuals that they had randomly stumbled across this seemingly normal day begin the strangest bout of role play they had ever seen. They stood there, leaning against the bookshelves, in silence, as the oddest type of 'flirting' ensued. They didn't know whether or not they wanted to witness... whatever what this was. It was both simultaneously amusing... yet also nauseating.
As they decided to quickly divert their attention from what was quickly turning into some mushy display of affection, they had to wonder what this said about them.
This is normal, they told themselves over and over in their head as they looked away. Not wanting to watch people confess romantic feelings.... it's completely fine.
But they knew it wasn't normal. After all, all their friends were dealing with it perfectly fine.
But they weren't 'fine'. They didn't want a 'magical fairytale ending' like so many kids their age dreamed of, with a partner and kid. They wanted to play quidditch, and spend time with their family, and do stupid things with their friends. And they'd never envisioned themself doing any of that with a partner.
Quickly, they snapped out of their thoughts. That was one rabbit hole they did not need to go down just yet.
"Uh... good job Col. Yeah, good job."
They looked out the window absent-mindedly. "You know what, it's kinda late, I have stuff I gotta do, I'm gonna head out."

Colin watched most intently as Sophia and Kim played the parts of himself and Jarael. As she delicately kissed his hand, he sat up straight. He wondered what Sophia would do! She called Kim 'Miss Jarael' and his eyes crinkled with an inner smile. Was that some kind of American greeting? It sounded kind of cute and he watched with interest as she curtsied and began to recite his own poetry. He couldn't help but whisper the words along with Sophia. He smiled as she began to blush --- he knew he'd end up two or three shades of red brighter when the day finally came and he would pour his heart out to his Jarael!
His eyes widened as she showed him how to tell her what was on his heart --- intense and simple, yet not like a hunter stalking his prey. He nodded slightly. Yeah, that wouldn't do! He didn't want to terrify her, even though his feelings terrified him; he didn't want to scare her away or make her feel weird. Okay, lad --- I reckon what Sophia's saying is that we've got forever to tell Jarael everything. We shouldn't throw everything at her all at once!
As Sophia continued the recitation, Colin wondered at himself: there was a time, not so long ago, that he felt terrified by the very name 'Jarael' and he could scarcely bring himself to say her name aloud to someone else. And now, he dared to say her name! It felt to him like the Sun had risen and banished the terrifying darkness and fear inside him. His heart felt stronger now and he'd no longer fear to speak her name nor speak of his --- love.
Sophia had spoken of him courting Jarael several times before. Pax, of course, had suggested snogging her right away, but something about Sophia's insistence on courtship coming before snogging seemed to him the nobler way. Also, it didn't seem right, somehow, to just grab a girl and try to force her. He was sure that if he tried that, Jarael would fight back and he'd just ruin everything. No, no! Colin thumped the table, though probably not enough to be noticed! No, Jarael must be courted and wooed properly! Colin decided that if he really loved the girl, she must be respected and it must be her that makes the move.
Colin's attention returned to Sophia. She had just let go of Kim's hand and sat back down to finish up her thoughts on what he should do. He tucked his things away in his satchel as she spoke. Speak his feelings clearly; don't be forceful; leave the decision making to Jarael. Colin thought for a moment: he compared what he'd been thinking with what Sophia had just said and done. He smiled at her. He'd understood everything! And he would put that plan into action.
He turned towards Kim as he responded with he thought Jarael might say. He thought some of 'Jarael's' lines made no sense whatsoever, and he gave Kim a look of perplexity. But he really had to admit that a couple of the lines Kim said were pure sapphire and gold! He grabbed one of Sophia's muggle magic quills and, remembering this time to bang the wee clicky thing against his head to activate the charm, scribbled down what Kim said:
He also made a quick note of what Sophia had said: Jarael, we've only known each other briefly, but you've awakened feelings in my heart that I never knew existed. I would love the chance to properly court you, if you'd only let me.Eyes, eyes... need them to see.

Colin let out a big breath. He was so relieved that his friends had come to help him this way! Gem seemed to be quite impressed by Sophia's performance, and said as much. The perfect way to approach a lady! --- Colin took her words to heart. He would not forget that she'd said that. Hunter was the one who didn't seem at all impressed or moved in any way. Colin snickered as his demisister looked like she might spew her breakfast! He knew she wasn't into any of this. In fact, she had confided to him that she wondered if she'd ever experience love. Colin was still confused by it and was probably the worst teacher she could ever have! But she really helped him understand what he was feeling.
He remembered how he said that it was like being asleep, before he'd met Jarael, and now he felt awake! Hunter wondered if she'd ever awaken. Colin thought, indeed hoped, she would one day! Now that he'd had some time to work through his feelings and his confusion, and with his friends backing him up, he felt a surge of confidence. He was certain that he could do this thing!
"Owooooo!" he cried as he leapt up suddenly! "You lot are brilliant! All of you! I don't know when, but I'm going to choose a time and a place to meet my Jarael and I'll ask her if I can court her properly!"
Colin turned to face Sophia. His dear sister. She'd planned this whole thing today, and he owed her so much! He leaned down towards her as she sat, staring her in the eyes intently. Very carefully, he raised his hands and took either side of her face in them. He tilted her head back so he look at her clearly. His lips moved, but he didn't make a sound. If she could read lips, she'd know he said 'I love you, sis --- thank you!' He kissed Sophia!
Right on her forehead where red hair met her blushing face!
Colin grabbed his satchel, turned and headed for the door, following behind Pax. "DRAT!" he called out as he got a couple tables away. He turned and came back to the table where Gem and Sophia and Kim still were. Well, so much for a smooth getaway...
He'd forgotten his shoes and socks under his chair. He turned away from them slightly as he did them on. His eyes had been damp as he took his leave before, and now he knew a few tears had begun flowing. He gave them a quick wave as he turned and left the library, skipping, his satchel bouncing on his back and Colin not caring if anyone noticed he was crying. For they weren't tears of sadness, but tears of joy and even tears of pride. He knew that, when the time was right, he'd be able to approach Jarael and speak the words to her ears that before he'd only spoken to her heart.

Sophia giggled happily as the roleplay she and Kim were sharing came to an end. She'd never truly met Jarael, but if Jarael was the type to draw Colin in, then Kim had certainly nailed the characterization. She had no clue what Kim was even trying to say with his words, but she could certainly appreciate that it fit Colin's style very well.
Even Gem - er, Sable - seemed impressed by the advice, and she seemed the type to know how to approach a lady. After all, if anyone in the group was a proper lady, loathe as Sophia was to admit it, it would be Sable. Sophia herself was too clumsy and inelegant, but Gem? The word lady would be an apt description of her.
Sophia found herself divided between her stupid, petty ugly feelings regarding Gem and the desire to hug her as they had before and rekindle their friendship, and this emotional division hurt. Her heart felt like there was a knife lodged deep into it, but it was her own fault, so she had no right to complain.
Thankfully Colin was here to pull her from this rut. She wrapped her arms around his torso and squeezed him tight as he kissed her on the forehead. So sweet.
"I love you too, Collie," she said with a smile as she rested her head in the crook of his neck. He was such a nice boy. The perfect brother.
Sophia pulled away and giggled at Colin's antics as he left, forgot his own shoes, and then turned to leave again. She could watch him go about his day like this forever. Forgetting his shoes, figuring out how a muggle pen works, losing himself in life's simple pleasures. Sophia just loved him so much.
"When you ask her out, tell me beforehand. I want to be there," she whispered. She was his sister, and she wanted to be there for him the whole time.
As Colin left with the other girl that'd been here with them, Sophia waved to them both as they departed the library.
All-in-all, their mission was a success. Colin was confident enough to ask out Jarael, after all, and Sophia would hopefully be there to observe and encourage from a distance.
Now that it was just Kim and Gem in the library with her, though, she felt a bit awkward. Before they'd had a common goal to unify them. But what now?
Sophia looked between the two of them, and smiled sadly.
"I should go too. Stuff to do. See you Kim. Bye Ge- Sable."
She turned on her heel and walked quickly out of the library. She needed to see Amelia. She would help Sophia feel better. And she always had the best advice.

Colin seemed happy enough, though. Gem beamed happily as he expressed his thanks. She felt a burst of pride warm her chest. Even though the circumstances that brought her here had been uncomfortable at best, she was satisfied with the results.
"I wish you the best of luck, Colin!" She called, waving as the wild haired boy skipped gaily out of the library. A most odd lad. But he had a good heart. She was looking forward to their next meeting, for sure. Maybe they'd even become friends in the future!
Speaking of friends...
Now only Gem, Kim, and Sophia were left standing around the table. The new face--Pax, was it?-- had slipped away in the aftermath of the improv session. Gem's shoulders drooped slightly in disappointment. She hadn't even said one word to them. What had caused them to leave so suddenly?
"I should go too. Stuff to do." Sophia said. She spared one last fleeting glance at her former friend before gathering her things. "Bye, Sable."
Gemima's lips thinned, and she swallowed down any sharp retorts that might have escaped them.
Sophia turned to leave, but wait, was that a--smile on her face? It was too fast to tell, and before Gem could say anything, the redhead was gone.
And then there were two.
Gemima sighed and began to gather her posessions as well. She snuck a glance over at Kim, and decided then that it would be best for her to vacate the library too. Too many confusing emotions had been brought to light today, and she needed some time to clear her head. Sketching or reading up in her dorm would do just the trick.
"See you around, Kim." Gem said curtly. She hadn't meant for the farewell to come out so shortly, but her mind was focused solely on getting the heck out of there. ㅤ──────────────────────| ── | The reactions he'd gotten from their mini performance made his lips twitch. "Eh, I'm pretty bad at this. But I'm just glad you guys enjoyed it for the most part." Kim said. He glanced over at Colin, wondering what the other boy had thought of their impromptu performance. Pax excused themselves from the gathering, saying they had some things to do and Kim nodded at them, before refocusing on Colin again. As Colin told them he was going to choose a time and place to ask Jarael if he could court her, Kim nodded again. It sounded like a great plan for him. And then, Colin took Sophia's face in his hands and kissed her! If this wasn't a slight confession, what exactly was it? Sure, it hadn't been on the lips, but you didn't need to kiss there. There were lots of couples who only kissed on the forehead or cheek because their partner was uncomfortable about doing it on the lips. Colin got up afterward and headed for the entrance of the library, only to turn around and come back for his shoes. Kim noticed the tears that streaked his cheeks and wondered if they were happy or sad tears. Going from their previous conversations, it was probably the former rather than the latter. After all, Colin was going to think about how he was going to confess to her and decide on a time and date. Sad tears didn't make much sense. Kim glanced over at Sophia. The girl oddly enough didn't seem flustered at all by Colin's actions. In fact, she confessed that she loved him too. Well, that was interesting to note. Kim was pulled from his thoughts when Sophia spoke to him again. She said she had things to do too and said goodbye to both of them. Notably trying to refer to Precious by her last name. Which was odd for them. Up until after the ball, she'd always called her by her first name. All of a sudden she was doing the complete opposite. There must be a reason behind this. Perhaps something had happened between them recently? If that was the case, Kim wasn't sure what it was but something had to be done. Before it was too late for the two girls. As Precious echoed the words of the others who had already left, Kim nodded. "Zàijiàn!" He said and raised a hand to his temple to make a sideways peace sign with his fingers. As Precious left, Kim was the only one of the group who was still there. But that was fine. Libraries were a source of peace to him and he decided to hang around and check out some books. Maybe some herbology related books this time. Herbs and flowers were always something he'd enjoyed, even at an early age. And there was so much to learn about them! Lavender and vanilla were two favorites. But he liked a lot of others too. Rosemary and mint were also lovely scents. Floral and herbal scents really went well together. Kim headed over to the bookshelves and went to work at finding some books about herbs. Perhaps he'd even take some out if he found any particular intriguing ones.
