Cute or not, seniors were a nuisance. Especially evasive ones such as Stewart. While the chances of taking her out entirely were near impossible from how the duels were going, they somehow managed to hit her although barely. He couldn’t help but grin. Friggin finally! It wasn’t the best effect, but it was something.

He felt time moved slower in this round, and it was not because an insanely attractive person joined the room. The all too familiar incantations that promised massive pain were heard from the Ravenclaws. Knowing who exactly they were pointing at, Hanako wasn’t able to stop himself from looking in Starlee’s direction.

She dodged once, almost so perfectly that Hanako himself was impressed. But then the 2nd spell came and he found himself wincing. Flipendos from seniors were on another level. This wasn’t an exception. Hanako thought she wouldn’t get up, but she did.

Seeing her stand up despite the obvious pain, he could find himself breathing again.

No no he wasn’t concerned for her. It would just be a pain to deal with 2 duelists alone. She better keep up continuously dodging as she did with Eun-ji’s spell.

Wooooooowww hahahhah~” he turned his attention to his current favorite Ravenclaws. “ you two just couldn’t waiiiiittt to get me alone now do you? C’mon ladies, chill. I’m flattered but there's no need to get jealous~. I’m all yours after this duel is over. So why not pay more attention to me, hm~? ”. He said this to both the Ravenclaws, but showed favoritism to just one of them.

The same person he just shot a slowing charm at. Hopefully, even with the charm, she would have no trouble seeing the oh-so charming wink sent to her. Eun-ji was still cute and all, of course. But fully knowing Delilah could knock him out quicker, he thought of trying his chances could perhaps soften her heart into using less painful spells in the remainder of the duel. Who knows? Perhaps she was into younger cute little devils type of guys. You never know.

The crackers seemed to keep popping around her, causing her focus to waver. She couldn't let that happen. She could tell she had taken quite a few strong hits, mostly from the older student of course, but she wasn't sure just how much more she would be able to take, and if she could avoid it.

As she thought the Ravenclaw's were bent on taking her out, and both shot well cast Flipendos her way, Starlee only managing to duck underneath one of them, and taking the full force of the second. It sent her back, but she recovered, now breathing much more heavily. She wouldn't be able to take much more of this.

Realizing they needed to do something to Stewart, both her and Tone raised their wands at her. And, despite her expectations against the older student and her current status, the spell hit, although it had been a close call, and the effect wasn't entirely complete. Tone had managed to hit as well, making Stewart's movements much slower. Her concentration was waning, the crackers still popping around her. Her vision was beginning to blur, but she had to keep pushing through. She wanted to win.

Ah...Del got hit. It was bound to happen at some point of course but that didn't mean she had to be happy about it. Truthfully, She was very much aware that the older girl did most of the work so far and while her expression remained calm, Eun-ji was starting to get a bit frustrated. She didn't want to be a hindrance to her teammate. Well...technically, she was not but she wasn't being very helpful either. She did well casting her spells but most of them would miss their target in the end and except for the smoky bit; she had no excuse for failing so often. All the nonsense the Slytherin kept spouting in their direction did no damage to Eun-ji whatsoever. Her own brain was currently much bigger issue for her than Hanako could ever hope to be. It was fine though. If there was one thing she excelled at, it was convincing herself she had everything under control.

“See? So impatient.” The Ravenclaw said sweetly to the boy, referring to their first exchange at the beginning of the duel. This was all she was willing to give however. Neither she nor Del were stupid enough to get distracted or give away their next move. He would have to take it up a few notches in order to annoy the raven-haired girl. So far, she actually found him rather amusing. Much more fun than her last opponent that was for sure.

The words the younger student said made Delilah want to audibly gag, however she refrained, she had to keep her composure during this duel, she had to win, the slytherins won last year and she couldn't let them do it again.

Although it was a bit hard to keep your composure as you are hit with a rictumsempra, thankfully only partially, Delilah did still burst into the giggles but it wasn't quite as bad as it would've been had the spell hit her full on.

Jake just didn't understand Hanako. How could he still be talking about flattered and jealous and all that stuff when all these spells were going around? Hadn't he seen that Cracker Jinx?? Jake shook his head with confusion when Hanako did...something...with his eye at Delilah. What did that mean?

But the Slytherins, even though they could move, still had their work cut out for them. Stunned by a cracker jinx, and almost knocked off her feet by a knockback jinx, it was amazing that Starlee was still fighting back at all. Though her vision was blurring, and the crackers were popping, she didn't ever give up. But as she waved her wand in the direction of the Ravenclaws, nothing would happen. Whatever focus she needed, whatever strength she needed to channel into her wand wasn't coming.

And as Hanako tried to do the same, he would have the same result. Whatever incantation he had just said, nothing came from his wand. Was he distracted by what had happened to Starlee? Was it the fire-crackers? Or was it just Delilah?

Maybe Delilah had seen that all through her giggles. Because a knockback jinx shot forward once again, threatening to take Starlee right off her feet! But even though the Slytherin was still dazed, she saw the spell coming. Was the aim slightly off from Delilah's mini giggle-fits? Was she thrown off from the arresto momentum? Or had Starlee just ducked out of the way? It all happened so fast not even JAKE was sure. But the spell had missed, that was for certain, and Starlee remained standing

Then there was Eun-ji. Eun-ji, who hadn't let the other team get to her. She didn't seem to be taking Hanako very seriously from what Jake could tell, but he HAD gotten her attention. Because with expert precision she sent a disarming spell right for the boy, and it ripped Hanako's wand right from his hand!

That was definitely why you were supposed to keep both eyes open when dueling, Jake thought.

“See? So impatient.”

For a chance to go on a nice date instead of spending days in the hospital wing? Who wouldn’t~” He returned her sweet words with his own, somehow finding it easier to smile just a teensy bit. Well of course his side of the duel wasn’t going well at all. Starlee would probably be infuriated if she saw him having enough audacity to smile at a time like this. And this wasn’t the best place for banter, per say. Not with his partner struggling with cracker jinxes and being incredibly low on health and all. Not the right vibe, but was he wrong to be flattered Hunt responded? Probably. It was the people with hard shells that were the most fun to crack. Even when she just pretty much said the same thing. Perhaps an actual date with her after this wouldn’t be too bad. He could handle the disapproving aura of the non-hallucination moderator for a little while longer.

As for the other Ravenclaw, it was hard to gouge out her reactions. Her laughing non-stop was probably a good reason why. He has no complaints whatsoever, considering she wasn’t able to hit Starlee with another flipendo that probably would've have been able to knock her out. While he could admire Starlee for evading so elegantly, he could also give himself credit. For being so cute that Delilah was simply too distracted to attack anyone. And he believes he had given Starlee enough admiration for this match, so he’ll go with the 2nd option. Boosts up his confidence.

Confidence doesn’t equal good spells, however. Both he and Starlee failed to cast anything and it was so horrendous he was sure it deserved a good cry. But he was more of an ‘I’ll be other people’s problem if I’m sad’ person than a ‘I’ll cry if I’m sad’ person. If inner crying was real, that was probably what described Hanako’s mood at the moment.

And to make matters worst his wand is gone now. So not only was he internally crying, he was also incredibly annoyed. Knowing it was Hunt that cast it, Hanako took back the thought about it not being so bad going on a date with her. You don't get in between a duelist and their wand! That’s morally wrong! He also completely ignored the fact that he tried to do the same to Delilah a few rounds ago.

A bit upset with the Ravenclaws for this round, they can only see his slightly irritated face, his grin starting to look strained. No playful quips from him, sadly. At least the non-hallucination moderator might appreciate it. Maybe.

Del missed this time but Eun-ji was somewhat prepared for that. She was still suffering the aftereffect of Rictusempra and she had been doing an incredible job so far. The witch looked at her opponents. Hanako seemed extremely cheery now. He had replied to her short comment but Eun-ji wouldn’t answer this time, too focused on her spellcasting. She was thinking about his earlier complaint that he felt neglected as it actually lined up with her next move. You want our attention. Well...your wish is my command. She thought to herself, supressing the urge to smirk a little. That would only give her away. Finally...finally, Eun-ji's spell hit the intended target.

“Fetch,” the Ravenclaw uttered when the wand flew out of the boy’s hand. He didn’t seem quite as cheery now. Usually, Eun-ji wouldn’t taunt her opponents like this but Hanako’s behaviour made her feel like it was okay to do so just this one time. He would probably pay her back the first opportunity he got anyway

Things were simply not going as planned. Of course, one knew that if a lot of debuffing spells was sent one's way, that they would be the target of the next round. It was pretty self-explanatory, and of course herself and Tone were on the same page. They both raised their wands toward her, and... nothing. Nothing from the both of them. Just raised wands, and an utterly confused yet extremely tired face from Starlee. This wasn't supposed to happen, in fact, it rarely seemed to happen to her. Backfiring spells, sure, but not being able to cast them whatsoever? It had to be her loss of focus. Quite possibly her tiredness as well.

Even with nothing happening from their end of the piste, Starlee was able to masterfully dodge Stewarts Flipendo, hopefully keeping her in the game for that much longer. Tone wasn't as fortunate, as his wand went sailing out of his hand. 'Great.' Tone couldn't do anything except search for his wand, and Starlee was still barely standing. She just had to keep going, keep on pushing through.
