It was starting to get warm again, which was amazing yet frustrating. After all swimming in the lake was off limits and just letting his legs dangle within the lake did not do its job properly. So he remembered one of the past April Fool's days in which a student cleverly had brought some kind of tin or bowl outside, filled it with water and enlarged it until it reached the dimensions of a pool. Now that could be some fun! So Alan had done just that this lovely sunny day, he had brought out a flat cake tin, dipped it in the lake and enlarged the entire thing.

The fifth year now stood there, dressed in water melon style swim trunks which he had carefully, yet boldly paired with a short sleeved button up with a colorful cat print. He looked amazing and eyecatching to say the least! For some extra fun the prefect took out his wand and cast a couple of scourgify onto the water, until it was bubbly and frothy. There was just one more thing to do...

the fifth year climbed a closeby rock and lunged into the water with a huge splash. Yeah, this is exactly what he had needed on such a hot day!

It was finally getting close to summer, So Quinn was dressed in a t-shirt and a pair of shorts. Quinn was almost bouncing off the walls. She loved summer almost as much as she loved fall. Some of her favorite summer activities were swimming, and flying kites. She knew that she could not swim, and she did not bring her kite, So she settled for a walk instead.

To try and bring up her mood. She walked to one of her favorite places at Hogwarts, the great lake. When she got to the lake she saw someone, Quinn recognized him as a fifth year. He dipped something into the lake. 'What is he doing?' Quinn couldn't help but watch she was curious. The older student cast a spell on the item that he had dipped into the water, the spell had made it grow. "wow" Quinn muttered under her breath.

She walked over to where the boy had jumped into the enlarged item. Now she could see it much more clearly, She saw that he had made a pool out of a cake tin. "That's brilliant! Can I swim?" Quinn asked. He had made a pool, because we could not swim in the lake.

A pool party sounded like fun. Getting wet however did not. It was far too much of a ‘in your face’ moment for Falentra. A tempted dip of the toe would have satisfied her needs and a sunbathe not far from the pool Alan had brilliantly created sounded like a good idea.

She arrived fashionably. Simple, yet elegant. Her hair was neatly swept back into a high pony and a pair of blocky black glasses covered her strong features. A oversized striped t-shirt sat loosely over her bikini and a small bag hung over her shoulder containing the basics needs for a summers day.

Falentra arrived surprisingly early, with only a student she hadn’t recognise before so automatically assumed was a first year, or second at latest. Then of course the star of the show, Alan. He had already made a splash upon her arrival and the Slytherin couldn’t help but shake her head and give a small smile in reaction. “Alan!” Falentra called out to her friend. Sure, they wasn’t besties, but if you was considered her friend, or someone she attempted to talk to off her own back, you’d be quite lucky, or even special.

A towel was quickly laid onto the grass and her body soon rested against it. For now, her t-shirt remained covering her body and her back was slightly turned from the pool. It wasn’t her way of being rude, just rather avoiding the eye contact. The glasses helped avoid it, but what if someone was to smile at her. Did she really have to force a smile back? Probably. So best to remain unapproachable. If Alan was to attempt a conversation with her however, she would turn her frame to him and give a genuine smile, and an attempt to make her small talk interesting.

Summer was close, and that meant two things, the gradual changing of the temperature to something more bearable than the chill and dreariness of the preceding autumn and, more importantly, the arrival of summer and the escape from the scholastic prison known as Hogwarts. Nicholas didn’t truly loathe his school, no matter the front that he tried to put on, but he did prefer having nothing but time in which to engage in his own activities. His grades had slipped drastically, and the chance to flee from further academic embarrassment and study was one that seemed absolutely golden. In any case, there was no hope of scrounging any last minute Os in the final days of term. So, he may as well spend his final days in school doing things somewhat enjoyable. Of course, the advertisement of a pool party by one of his roommates had not gone unnoticed.

Alan Vanes was a peculiar creature, Nicholas had come to understand that rapidly. At first glance, the second year had assumed that his upperclassman was just another haughty prefect. Of course, a year of sharing a domicile had quickly revealed him as nothing more than a big softie. Besides, Nicholas still felt somewhat of a soft-spot for the older boy for allowing him to get away usncathed following a rather untoward encounter with one Noah Jupe.

Accordingly, a day of relaxation and sun overseen by Vanes had seemed a rather ideal way to spend an afternoon. So it was that Nicholas McCowan found himself down by the lake, for once not spending his free waking hours attempting to master some obscure Balkan broom racing technique.

He’d expected the pool party to be at least somewhat popular, what he hadn’t expected to see was Falentra Black. A quasi-older sister of sorts, Nicholas had always assumed that the Slytherin was far too cool to make herself known at events like this. Still, it wasn’t an unpleasant surprise. And the second year soon found himself raising a hand in an enthusiastic wave.

“Yo,” The Gryffindor raised his hand, “Fal!”

A greeting of two words, perhaps one too many. An understanding that Nicholas carried over to his greeting to the organiser of the event, “Alan!”

Nicholas nodded at his fellow lion, before swiftly changing into his swim trunks. Of course, change was probably far too hyperbolic a term. He’d been wearing a simple pair of blue boardshorts when he’d arrived, but he discarded the white canvas shirt that had accompanied the ensemble with absolutely zero circumstance.

Turning his attention to as of yet unknown first year, Nicholas smirked, “S’what it’s there for, no?”

And then, with the speed and excitement of youth, the broom racer had scaled the rock, following the steps of his upperclassman. Before he could think, he was launching himself off of the platform and into the blue below. An attempt at multiple summersaults was made. Of course, the end result was less than could be desired. A grand total of two-and-a-half rotations were made in the air, before the boy crashed head first into the water with an ungodly smack.

For a few scant moments beneath the liquid azure, Nicholas thought he may have died. Fortunately, instinct would refuse to allow such an eventuality to occur, and in due course his body was moving almost unconsciously. With a gasp, the brunette would breach, sucking air desperately into his lungs. Only for that same air to be expelled in an entirely manic laugh.

It was too hot and humid within the castle walls that Aurelia was compelled to take to the clouds to get some wind. From the skies, owleia had a clear view of the impromptu pool party. First, a tin expanded into a large basin with a charm cast by the Gryffindor duel captain, Alan. It wasn't before long, others were drawn to the scene by their want to cool off from the sweltering heat. One of which was her friend Falentra Black whom Aurelia hadn't spoken to in a while. For reasonable... reasons of course. Falentra did not head straight first into the water, instead choosing to sunbathe near the edge.

Nevertheless, perhaps it was time to catch up. Aurelia soared down onto the patch of grass and landed right by where Falentra laid. The Slytherin didn't know her form, or did she? The animgus stopped keeping track after a while, with so many slip-ups that could have been well avoided by transitioning to her form in somewhere more private. She simply waited for the girl to respond, her large golden eyes stared upwards, beckoning the girl to pet. Owleia didn't always bite so long as Falentra didn't grab her.

A couple of students found their way to this little pool party rather quickly, making the fifth year rather excited about the unspoken promise of a good time with a couple of new and old friends. “Sure, if you’d like to!”, he would let @Quinn Root know. He himself pulled off the shirt he was wearing that was now soaked, because he had not taken it off before jumping into the pool. He unbuttoned it before draping it over the rim of the so-called pool. It did not take very long for an actually familiar face to make an appearance, causing Alan to actually climb out of the pool and bound over to @Falentra Black who was settling down to lay down on the grass. It would be a shame if someone were to… Alan hugged her. “Fal! So lovely to see you!” He chirped with a cheeky grin. Alan who had just been in the pool of water of course was dripping wet as he hugged the girl as his oh so common form of a greeting. Before she could in any way retaliate, he would retreat back into the pool to where @Nicholas McCowan was already waiting. “Hey, how’s it going, Nick?”, the prefect asked his dorm mate. His gaze drifted towards the owl that made an appearance and he gave it a weird look, furrowing his brow. This didn’t seem like a normal owl, it’s mannerism didn’t match fully, at least something was off. Alan tried to remember if he knew any Animagi with an owl form, but shrugged it off for now to instead focus on Nick, deeming the owl as not very important at that very moment. A images or not.

Bea had heard through the grapevine about this little pool party around the lake, and with the weather warming due to the approaching Summer season, thought it was a great idea! She'd dressed in her bathers, a striped red and white affair, with puffed bottoms. It had been one of her favourite pieces to buy on the shopping trip with her Ma before coming to school. Grabbing her towel, hat and sunblock, she scurried down the Eagle Tower and towards the Great Lake.

A handful of students had arrived, mostly older students, although there were a couple of younger ones like her. It was amusing, that even though she had been at the school most of the year, she didn't know anyone at the pool party. Setting up towel near the others, she bit her lip, debating whether to join in straight away or not. The water looked refreshing, especially on this hot day. She voted for waiting and watching the others. People watching was a favourite past-time of hers. Perhaps one of them would introduce themselves whilst she watched.

In the meantime, she would braid her hair. The curly locks had become somewhat stifling as the heat beat down on her, and she chastised herself for not doing something about it before coming down. It would have much easier to braid in front of a mirror! Removing her hat, she started on one side, watching the others in the water.
