Of course, the kitchen setting wasn't really the best in this room.

But that was to be expected, as this was actually a classroom and not an equipped kitchen.

After all, this place was going to be a temporary location for the club, until they became higher years and were allowed to use the kitchens. But they wouldn't always be inside.

They could also hold meetings out on the campgrounds too from time to time. Regardless, this was not the place for Kim to be thinking about where they could meet in the future. He needed to focus on the auditions right now. Back to Pax again. When they told him they would be making their mum's pizza sandwich, Kim nodded. "It sounds delicious." He told them. As Pax got started, the pink haired chef continued to watch closely, studying them.

"It's as well as can be expected, I was looking forward to seeing how many people would show up to my club. I actually thought only one or two would, I didn't expect so many to come." Kim said with a faint smile. As Pax got to work again, he let his eyes flicker over the person in front of him. Pax looked hard at work and he appreciated the effort coming out of them. That was all he really wanted from anyone here.

If you tried and failed...

Well, that didn't matter at all. This club was to teach people about the joys of cooking.

The competitions were just fun things to do to pass the time. Yes, everyone would probably want to win them but even if you didn't, you'd still be able to enjoy being in the club. Everyone would eat the delicious meals they'd made at the end of the day and would be able to get to know the other members. There were lots of things they could all do together and Kim was looking forward to it. Once Pax was done, he brought it over to the cool countertop.

They didn't have much room in the classroom, as it was a small enclosed space that he'd already sectioned off to give some privacy to both sides.

He'd also even prepared a small space for their advisor to relax within, which left almost no free space anywhere for any small tables. Not unless Kim wanted it to be hard for people to get into the kitchen area. Which he didn't. Therefore, his judging would be done on the countertop, slightly away from the cooking area itself. When Pax finally stated they were done and brought the dish over to the countertop, Kim stepped forward and looked down.

The dish they'd made was called Pizza Sandwiches.

They certainly sounded delicious, that was for sure. But would they taste good?

Kim let his eyes flicker over the dish and took in every single detail before him. He leaned down and inhaled the scent, closing his eyes in the process. And then, he reached down and picked up one half of the messy sandwich before him. Inspecting it from up close, Kim watched as some of the sauce ran out of the bread and dripped onto the plate. He took a bite out of it and chewed carefully as he thought about the dish. A few veggies dropped out of it.

Ah, he could already spot a few things right off the bat.

But nothing showed on his face outwardly, he was stoic and expressionless.

Kim set the half of sandwich he'd picked up down and took off the top part. He examined the contents and picked up some of the vegetables. Then, he took another bite out of it and then set it down again. The pink haired chef nodded and then looked up at Pax again.

"Thank you for coming to audition for the TCC. I will send you an owl with your Star-Pin Patch rank after auditions are concluded for the afternoon. And please don't worry about whatever rank you get, they are simply there to give me a general first impression of your skills. The only things that matter are after you become full members, which will happen one month from now." Kim told Pax.

He nodded towards the front of the room.

"You can leave now. I'll see you later." It was the end of the audition.

Kim went around behind the curtain that sealed off the 'kitchen' area and placed Pax's dish on top of around five flat rectangular tables lined up against the wall in a straight line.

When the auditions were over, he'd share them with their advisor and if there were any leftovers would bring them down to the house elves at the kitchen and give them a treat. After all, it wasn't good to waste food, especially food that was really good like this. And now, to find the next person to come in for their audition. Kim took out his sign-up sheet and looked down through the list of names. He made a check mark next to Pax's name and then closed his eyes and randomly put his finger down on the paper. It was like a fun game to him now.

Upon opening his eyes, he saw it had fallen on Cassandra Ironwoods.

They would be the next lucky one.

Kim entered into Section 2.

He waited for Cassandra to catch up with him and then gestured towards the audition area.

"I've sealed off the area with a large, enveloping curtain around the cooking station. Don't worry about the smoke, our adviser will take care of it if too much envelops the room. I also made sure to open the window too." Kim reassured her, in case Cassandra might be nervous about this. "Now, for your audition, I'm sure you'll be wanting to know what you're supposed to make, right? Well, it's very simple."

Kim nodded towards the station where Cassandra would be cooking her audition piece. "Make use of the station there, you can use anything you see in that area. You can also use any spells to aid you in cooking your piece, as long as you don't try and create the entire meal with one spell. What I'm talking about is, don't try to transfigure an entire Thanksgiving meal and conjure the food up just like that."

"That's not cooking, that's just making use of Transfiguration. But if you want to use let's say the sauce-making spell, that's fine as it's actually a summoning spell and not a creation spell." Kim explained and then went on to relate the rest of the rules. "As for the audition piece, I would like you to make me what chefs would call your signature dish. This is a dish that either represents you or that you enjoy."

"If you have neither, you can just make anything you feel like you want to try making right now." Kim said, thinking about whether he'd covered everything relating to instructions or rules. "Ah, if you have ingredients you have brought with you, you may also use them. Or if you brought notes." That was important to note. Oh, right! Kim had almost forgotten the most important thing to tell all the potential chefs-to-be here.

"A word of caution. There are sharp knives in the kitchen, please do not rush and take your time. You can easily hurt yourself with these sharp blades if you are not extremely careful when using them. Do not worry, there is no time limit on these auditions. You also do not need to be perfect, I am merely trying to figure out what your current skill level is. As long as I see you trying, it is fine."

There.

He'd stated all the rules and expectations.

"Alright, you may begin." He told Cassandra and held his arm out to encourage her to go over to the station and start putting together her dish for him to sample and judge.

Cassandra probably didn't need to hear his words about safety with knives. She was a higher year than him but Kim had to say them anyway, just to cover all his bases. After all, he didn't know much about her and whether or not she could cook. Even older people could be dangerous in the kitchen if they had no experience whatsoever at all. Kim was kind of interested in what sort of dish Cassandra would make for him. Would it be savory or sweet?

He waited for awhile but Cassandra seemed to be having trouble deciding on what to make.

It wasn't the nerves, he could see this but her indecision made Kim frown. After some time of her not doing anything, the boy cleared his throat and walked up to her again.

"It's alright if you can't decide on what to make but there are people still waiting to audition. You'll have to come back later. But you'll still have a chance to get into the club. Just send me an owl if you can't come up with anything by the end of the day and we can work out a different date." Kim told her and guided her out of the area as he made his way back to the waiting area to call the next person up to audition.

Kim added, as many of those who auditioned experienced a moment of uncertainty at that particular point in time. Best answer that question right off the bat, so she would have the answer as soon as possible. Kim had to admit, he was kind of interested in the girl's dish.

This was it her name had been called. Marina walked up to the cooking station then stopped. Where was she supposed to put Mochi? "Where should I put my rat?" Marina asked Kim. "There is a pen for pets over there," Kim points to a small enclosed area. "You can put your rat in it." Marina walked over to the pet pen and carefully placed Mochi in it.

Now it was time for her audition. Marina was going to make a small berry tart, with a few changes. She first made the crust. The recipe seemed much harder now that she was actually trying to make it. Marina put flour and sugar in a bowl and mixed them together. Then she added butter and eggs to the mixture. Marina mixed all the ingredients together. Then she found a small pie pan. Marina placed her pie crust dough in the pan and put it in the oven, which she had been preheating to 375 degrees.

Next Marina moved onto the filling. Although the recipe had said to make a custard filling, she had no idea what custard was or how to make it. So instead, she substituted it with whipped cream, which was something that she did know how to make. Once Marina had made the whipped cream she separated it into four different bowls. Marina put pureed strawberry in one, pureed kiwi in another, orange juice in the third, and blueberry puree in the last one. These were all the different fruits that Marina was going to put on her "tart."

Marina realized it was time to pull her pie crust out of the oven. She got a potholder, since she knew the glass pan would be hot, and removed her pie crust from the oven. Marina turned her attention back to the whipped cream. She mixed all the different flavors together and filled the pie crust with it. Now Marina moved onto the next step. She sliced up some fresh fruit and placed it on the "tart."

Finally, her dish was complete.

Back to Marina. First she asked him where she could put her rat, as she'd brought her pet with her. An interesting thing to do, considering she knew she was going to audition for the club. But perhaps she couldn't bear to be separated from her pet rat.

Kim knew the feeling, as he'd wanted to bring Puffie with him too. But that would have been a disaster as Puffie had a tendency to be overly curious. The last thing he wanted was for Puffie to get hurt in the classroom. Especially since there would be sharp utensils and fire involved. Once Marina had placed her rat into the pen he'd set up earlier, Kim watched as she got started with making her dish. The pink haired chef watched her closely, studying Marina.

He let his eyes flicker over the person in front of him. Marina looked hard at work and he appreciated the effort coming out of her. That was all he really wanted from anyone here.

Kim let his eyes flicker over the dish and took in every single detail before him. He leaned down and inhaled the scent, closing his eyes in the process. And then, he picked up a utensil and sliced into the tart before him. The slice went through easily as there was almost no resistance. Lifting the utensil up to his eyes, Kim inspected it from up close and nodded. He took a bite and closed his eyes, letting the flavors and textures roam about inside his mind.

Ah, he could already spot a few things right off the bat.

But nothing showed on his face outwardly, he was stoic and expressionless.

Kim turned the plate around to look at the entire creation, now that part of it had been sliced off by him. He examined it and then used the utensil to push a few things aside.

He tasted it again. Finally, the pink haired chef nodded and then looked up at Marina again.

"Thank you for coming to audition for the TCC. I will send you an owl with your Star-Pin Patch rank after auditions are concluded for the afternoon. Emily was excited for her turn. She listened very carefully to the rules, then she went over to her station and thought about what she should make. After some time thinking, she took out her notebook and looked for the recipe that she wanted.

After flipping through most of her notebook, she finally came upon the recipe she wanted. Emily looked at the recipe and smiled. Emily was gonna make pumpkin pie for the 10th or 11th time. You could say that it is her signature dish, since she's made it almost every year.

Emily looked at the recipe, she knew what ingredients to get, so she went to find them. Once she got everything she needed, she got everything ready, put on an apron, washed her hands, and started to make her pie.

The first thing Emily did was pre-heat the oven to 455° F. Then she started on the pie crust. Since Kim said that Emily's audition wasn't timed, she decided to make the crust from scratch. After the dough was ready, she put it into the pie tray and put the tray in the oven for a few minutes.

After the time was up for the crust, she took it out then she started working on the pie filling. Emily already had a bowl out, so she put the canned pumpkin puree, sweetened condensed milk, eggs, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt into the bowl. Than she mixed all the ingredients together until the filling was smooth.

Once the filling was ready, she poured it into the crust and put the pie tray into the oven again. She reduced the oven temperature to 350° and let the pie bake for 15 minutes. Once 15 minutes was up, she took the pie out of the oven, took out a toothpick from her pocket and pocked the pie to see if it was ready.

Once she pulled out the toothpick and looked at it. She saw that it was clear, so she turned off the oven, put the pie where Kim told her to put her dish and cleaned up.

Emily wondered if Kim would like her pie or not. She also wondered what he was gonna say about her pie. She hoped that her pie tasted like it normally does.

After all, it wasn't good to waste food, especially food that was really good like this. And now, to find the next person to come in for their audition. Kim took out his sign-up sheet and looked down through the list of names. He made a check mark next to Emily's name and closed his eyes and randomly put his finger down on the paper. It was like a fun game to him now.

Upon opening his eyes, he saw it had fallen on Quinn Root.

She would be the next lucky one.

Kim entered into Section 2.

He waited for Quinn to catch up with him and then gestured towards the audition area.

"I've sealed off the area with a large, enveloping curtain around the cooking station. Don't worry about the smoke, our adviser will take care of it if too much envelops the room. I also made sure to open the window too." Kim reassured her, in case Quinn might be nervous about this. "Now, for your audition, I'm sure you'll be wanting to know what you're supposed to make, right? Well, it's very simple."

Kim nodded towards the station where Quinn would be cooking her audition piece.

"Alright, you may begin." He told Quinn and held his arm out to encourage her to go over to the station and start putting together her dish for him to sample and judge.

"Right. One more thing to keep in mind. Since we have limited space, when your dish is finished, please just place it on the counter off to the side. I will judge it there." Kim added, as many of those who auditioned experienced a moment of uncertainty at that particular point in time. Best answer that question right off the bat, so she would have the answer as soon as possible. Kim had to admit, he was kind of interested in the girl's dish.

What sort of dish Quinn would make for him? Would it be savory or sweet?
