Spring Races Broom Race Hufflepuff v Slytherin

There were a few slight issues when it came to this race. It only took Jack a solid minute to actually glance up and notice that all of his teammates sat behind him. It felt like he was going to either say or do something that will eventually end up getting kicked off the broom racing team, however until that moment comes, the former prefect was just gonna keep on riding towards victory.

Scarlet couldn’t believe it. Despite feeling for Vale - a large part of her would’ve loved to see a first year win the race, beating all the other students years above her, and of course she was part of her own team. But the feeling Scarlet got looking ahead and seeing no other racers was exhilarating. It made her wish for her broom to move faster, to increase the distance between her and anyone behind her by even more. Now she really felt like she could win this thing.

Serena also starts her journey through the woods, fairing alright except for a few nicks and scratches here and there. Flying past her are the rock and two logs thrown from earlier. Simon's rock finds its target first, hitting Wyatt squarely in the back of the head. He's not knocked out miraculously. One log is able to hit scarlet while the other is lost amongst the dense foliage.

At the denser part of the forest, Jack, the leading badger, and Serena race past Scarlet, the leading snake. Luckily the two Hufflepuffs are hardy, because they both hit a number of trees before breaking free to the sunlight. Jack speeds into a sizeable lead.

Serena gritted her teeth as she scraped past a tree trunk, hitting a few branches. A curse word escaped her lips in an inaudible mutter as she spoke to herself. This was not good enough. She had been training with tree lines for a reason - so that shit like this did not happen - but it was still not enough. She exhaled sharply as she flew past another patch of trees that seemed a lot easier.

But letting her guard down now was the biggest mistake she could make, "Argh," She grumbled as she somehow manage to go straight into a branch, causing a small cut to appear on her arm.

She hated this. Not the race or the trees but rather, her own ability to get through them safely. It should not be this hard but it was. Her eyes widened slightly as she flew fast through the air. In front of her was a dense patch of trees. So dense that she could not even see where they ended or which way to go. Gritting her teeth, she hissed as she tried her best to navigate through the trees as quickly as possible. So many branches scraped her but all it made her do was keep her head down and zoom through them as fast as possible. It was not ideal but she had been through worse. Right now, powering through these trees was all that mattered since she clearly seemed to fail at doing it safely.

At this rate, she was more likely to fly into a tree trunk than Jack was - and he would never let her live that down, after the number of times she had teased him on that topic, surely!

Gemini kinda stopped. SHe wan't giving up she was just taking a bit of a break. She told herself that to hope she would continue again. She was afraid she would fail and she knew dhe probably would. She felt bad but she didn't care, she did her best.She looked at the others in nevrousness.

The fact that all Wyatt could think right now was "wowza" was a testament to how much blood he was losing. Something hit him in the back of the head, and he forgot where and who he was for a second. It was a Christmas April 9th miracle that he was able to remain on his broom.

For a second, Scarlet became caught up in her own thoughts - well at least she thought it was only a second, by the time she clicked that she was still in a race, the yellow colours of two Hufflepuff racers had gone whizzing ahead of her, her first place position lost. She felt a little disappointed in herself at the position she had dropped to, but she needed to focus on the fact that she was still ahead of most - there was still a way to go till the end of the race, she hoped so at least.

Jack was the best at everything he did. It was totally all his hard work that has put him in his lead. Most definantly all him, nobody could do anything to stop him here. The adrinaline rushing through his veins from sitting in front of the pack was exhilirating, he was keeping all of his strength from whiteknuckling against his Silver Arrow. With his confidence, the third year took the time to glance back at his competitors. That was a sizable lead, wasn't it?

Oh wait, she wasn't. Well, that was what she gets for being too excited and not paying attention to what she was doing. Vale hoped that despite her wavering luck, if she was gonna get a head pat from one of her upperclassmen for the work she did so far. Vale was sure, that if she played cute enough, maybe she'll end up having someone join one of her tea parties in the future...

Boy, was Vale sure tired though.
