Just Another One of 'Those Days'
Tuesday 3/22/22, after classes
Description: Alec is wearing his school uniform, from the circles under his eyes it is clear despite his energy-filled voice he is tired. The Gryffindor looks very unkempt and frazzled, and by the end of this post one of his sleeves are stained with ink.
Flipping a page in his textbook, Alec dipped his quill in ink and scribbled notes on the parchment. Alec had never been one to mind studying, in his first year studying was an easy way to have an excuse to not be in his common room. Having struggled with the fact that he was placed in Gryffindor, the constant reminder that came with being in the common room was hard for him to handle. Alec's face twisted up in a strange way as he quietly and rather incoherently mumbled words to himself, points he needed to remember, pages, sources, and quotes. He was absorbed in it. For Alec, studying had always been able to take him away from his troubles. When he was studying he felt normal, all his troubles melted away and he didn't care, because for once all of his problems felt small.
Alec shifted where he sat, his head tilted to the side and his eyebrows furrowed. He shook his head before sifting through the other pieces of parchment strewn about atop the table. He should have organized the parchment, Alec sighed as he stared at the mess of parchment, unorganized, everywhere. It was as if the parchment were mocking him, the regrets of an afternoon. Usually, Alec was better with labeling each piece of note-taking parchment, though, Alec thought he shouldn't have been surprised, it was another one of 'those days'. Alec was unwilling to admit how many times he'd had to go back to his dorm only just that morning because he had forgotten something.
Picking up pieces of parchment, Alec skimmed each and marked it with a number according to which class it applied to. Another one of those days, Alec repeated in his mind as he went through textbooks again to find in which pile each of the pieces of parchment belonged in. After thirty minutes of sorting Alec was still going strong, his eyes quickly skimmed the piece of parchment he'd picked up and he smiled. History of Magic, he didn't even have to check. The assigned pieces to review had been by far one of his favorites. It was a fun class on the days' Alec could sit still and pay attention to it. Looking down Alec readied himself to sort another piece of paper, to his surprise, he had finished sorting through them all.
Mistakes were made, lessons were learned, the important thing was that now Alec could get back to taking notes. He wanted to look through more etymology for charms while he had the time. Alec took a deep breath of relief, reaching for a new piece of parchment, he dipped his quill into the jar of ink, starting again. Alec was absorbed in what he was doing once more, paying little attention Alec reached out of his line of view to dip his quill in ink. Alec didn't instinctively know where the jar of ink was, he realized that when the jar which he'd thought he had just dipped his quill into tipped over with a loud THUD. Alec had fast reflexes, but not fast enough and he watched the inky blackness spread quickly across his parchment.
Alec watched the doomed fate that had befallen him, his notes turning into nothing but blobs of darkness. As time slowed and Alec watched to piece of parchment become wrecked, he wouldn't realize a much worse fate about to turn into reality, one that could have easily been fixed if he'd lifted up his arm. The ink spread across in no time, and after taking the parchment it would take its final victim, Alec's shirt sleeve. Lifting his arm up far too late, Alec stood up from his chair and took a look at the damage taken. A ruined sleeve, ruined notes, and likely a stained table. “Great, now the real question is if magic can get ink out of clothes.” Alec muttered as he began to reach for his wand on the table.

Hogwarts was huge.
Hiro hadn't expected it to be on this grand of a scale.
There was so much to do and see at this particular school and he was bound and determined to see it all before he had to go back to Mahoutokoro.
Classes were done for him, probably a bit earlier than the time Hogwarts students got out. But he'd hung back for a time since he hadn't wanted to interfere with the foreign students during class time. However, it was now free time for Hogwarts students and that meant he was free to go inside and bother them all to death! Well, not really death. He didn't want to kill them! Unless it was with love! A shower of love! Yes, Hiro was bubbly and very energetic.
Perhaps too much.
Hiro had a plan, he wanted to eventually meet every single student at the place.
Whether or not he could do this before time ran out, remained to be seen. But he was going to give it his best shot! Where was the best place he could go to first? Hiro thought about it and eventually decided on checking out the Great Hall and the Library for targets. After flipping a knut into the air and calling heads or tails, with the former being the GH and the latter being the LB, he settled on the Library. Upon entering, Hiro glanced around the quiet area a little.
There.
He'd found his first Hogwarts target!
Someone was in trouble! Ah, if only he could use spells to help him out right now.
But their teacher had told them to refrain from the use of spells. Yes, Mathias and some of the others had already used them and effectively broken that rule. Still, Hiro was torn between helping out a potential new friend and holding back. Perhaps he could offer help manually instead of magically for now. It was better than nothing, right? He came over to his target, just as the student reached for his wand on the table. Ah, so he was taking care of it.
Hiro wasn't dressed in his usual Mahoutokoro robes. This time he was dressed in a simple black t-shirt that had the word 'believe' on the left side, with black pants. There was no way to tell that he wasn't a Hogwarts student too. Not unless the other boy had seen him get off the Mahoutokoro ship, or in his robes before. "Hey! You look like you're in a pinch, need any help with that?" Hiro asked as he perched on the side of the the foreign boy's table.
He gazed down at him.

Just Another One of 'Those Days'
Alec's attention on the mess he made would be put on hold as he spotted an eccentric, energetic, and all-around peppy looking person made their way to his table. He had not asked for this, the universe had it in for Alec. Today was not a people day. Alec did not have the time nor the motivation to deal with any person, let alone a peppy person. Conversing was for the social people, not the ones who are studying. This person studying didn't even think he could properly carry out a conversation in that moment. The best option available was to hope this person would change their mind and go towards a different table. Alec had a mess to clean up, and he certainly-
"Hey! You look like you're in a pinch, need any help with that?"
The Gryffindor refused to return the same amount of energy and enthusiasm. Alec was blank-faced, looking more grouchy than anything as he turned his attention towards the stranger. Who was this stranger to say Alec looked like he needed help? To assume Alec couldn't deal with the mess himself. His eyebrows furrowed, and his lips formed a small frown. Even if he did need help, who was this stranger to assume it was their place to insert themselves and offer it. Absurd. And yes, Alec was being dramatic, it was admittedly, embarrassing to be caught having spilled his ink everywhere. Alec was a Gryffindor, he had a pride thing going on.
“No, I don't need your help. I am perfectly capable of handling such a mess.” Alec turned his head away and set his eyes back on his papers. His notes were ruined, those had no ability to be fixed. The work of an afternoon down the drain in seconds. It was frustrating, but he could rewrite them from memory later. Notes had to be the least of his worries. The table had ink all over. He didn't want the ink to spread anywhere else, quickly the Gryffindor would cast “scourgify,” and be done with it. However when he looked back he would notice one tiny little detail. The stranger was still here. So Alec didn't tell him to leave, that was his fault. Alec gathered his ruined notes, waiting for the stranger to walk away. It had taken a short amount of time, and so of course, the stranger was still there. “Alright pygmy puff, what's your deal? Show up randomly in libraries often?” Alec asked. Deciding to ignore his ink stained sleeve. He would worry about it later.
It wasn't hard to tell there was a difference in the other's accent. It caused Alec to slow. He had never been lucky when it came to students outside of Hogwarts. None of them were very... nice. Alec folded his arms across his chest. Staring Hiro down, it was meant to be intimidating, though Alec had never pulled off the intimidating look well. Instead he looked interested, albeit intense with all the eye-contact. “Your foreign, where from?” Alec asked. The question was again supposed to come off as intimidating even while expecting an answer, again it would fall to the category of vague interest.

Hiro noticed the expression on the boy's face.
But that didn't stop him, as it would have the average person. Nope, Hiro was resilient.
It wouldn't be the first time someone had tried to get him to leave them alone and it wouldn't be the last time. Once Hiro had you in his sights, it was hard to get him to give up on you. Most tended to reluctantly accept the fact that they couldn't get rid of him and either ended up coming to like him, or grew to tolerate him. This boy was lucky that he didn't go to Mahoutokoro, or else he would have been bothered by Hiro for all eternity until he gave in.
As it was, now that Hiro had him in his sights, it would be hard to get rid of him. The boy responded to his previous words with a few choice words of his own. He essentially seemed to want to make sure Hiro knew that it wasn't much of a problem for him. "Of course you can, it's not that hard to fix with spells. Even if you can't use spells, cleaning it up the old-fashioned way is pretty easy to do. The only problem is your notes."
Hiro leaned over to try and sneak a peek at them.
"You don't have a spell to clean up the ink from your paper?" He asked him.
"That way your notes would come back too!" Hiro said with a smile. The pink haired boy watched the other boy as he gathered his notes together. It looked like he had no intention to leave his newest victim target, not until he'd gotten what he came for, which was getting to know him a bit better. He blinked when the other boy called him a pygmy puff and then laughed. "I love those things! They're so cute!" Hiro exclaimed with a huge smile.
Also, it did happen to be one of his nicknames in Quidditch.
The other boy's words made him tilt his head to the side. "Hm, now that you mention it, I have met a lot of people at the library. I guess it's a great area to find people. Well, that and the Great Hall. Everyone's got to eat, right?" Hiro said with a smile. And then the other boy crossed his arms against his chest and looked over at him. Ah, finally! Hiro grinned and stared back at him and then the other boy spoke to him, asking a question.
"Mm. Mahoutokoro. I'm Hiro. You are?" Hiro asked, curious.

Just Another One of 'Those Days'
Introductions... Just Hiro? No way to track him down? Fine, Alec liked it better that way anyway. He wasn't quite sure he'd be looking forward to seeing Hiro ever again. When Hiro then asked for Alec to return the same information, Alec noted he had a couple options. His full introduction, or being vague. He wasn't quite sure he wanted to give Hiro the information to hunt him down. Then again... Alec sighed, he knew he was going to regret this. It was far too late to back out now, and so he wouldn't be. Alec went through the motions, he could recite it off the top of his head by now. With how many times he was repeating it, he had too. “Alec, third year Hogwarts student and Gryffindor duellist.” Was introductions enough to get pygmy puff off his back? Apparently not. Likely there was nothing he could do to chase the kid away.
Merlin, pygmy puff, you are resilient. “You're very... bold.” Alec would comment offhandedly, unsure how to feel about pygmy puff's unwavering presence. He ran a hand through his hair. “You're not going to leave, are you?” Alec asked, he sighed. Well if the kid wasn't going to leave... Alec gestured towards a chair the opposite end of the table. He had time to waste anyway, with studying being officially cancelled and all. “Are the students of Mahoutokoro often subjected to your surprise visits or is this a special Hogwarts only offer?”
Apologies for the shortness! I've been having troubles writing recently but I wanted to get a post out.

If he was asked for his last name, he'd give it.
But Hiro preferred being called by his first name, as being called Bakugo...
Well, it was not something he liked hearing, because it reminded him of his father. Not that he'd ever tell anyone this. He watched Alec as the boy seemed to consider what to say to him in response. Interesting. Was he trying to come up with a fake name to give him? Or was he trying to decide whether he wanted to give him any information at all? Hiro continued to watch, fascinated with him. A sigh was heard on Alec's part and Hiro raised a brow, curious.
What had he decided on? He couldn't wait to hear Alec's words. A name was given, just a first one. Similar to what he'd done. But Hiro didn't care, as long as he had a name to call him, that was fine. After all, he didn't want to make up a nickname for them. Although, if the worst happened and he couldn't get a name, that was what he'd do. That is, until he eventually got his name. Yes, Hiro was stubborn and determined, so he eventually would find out somehow.
There it was.
Some more information about him too, what a bonus side dish!
Hogwarts. Gryffindor. Well, Hogwarts was the name of the school but what was the latter? Gryffindor? Hiro tilted his head to the side. Back at Mahoutokoro they weren't sorted into Houses like Hogwarts, they were sorted by years. So this system was unfamiliar to him. But he'd heard about this. Or so he thought. "Is Gryffindor one of those House things you guys have at Hogwarts?" Hiro asked, curious. "What exactly is a House?" He asked.
"Is it like a building or something?" Hiro inquired and grinned at Alec as the boy stated that he was very bold. "Nah, I just like meeting new people. I'm only here for a short time, so I thought I'd make the most out of my time here and go on the hunt!" Hiro said brightly and watched as Alec ran a hand through his hair. As the boy came to the realization that Hiro wasn't going to leave, Alec gestured to a nearby chair beside him.
It seemed as if he was finally accepting his presence.
Hiro smiled and jumped down off the table to take a seat in the chair beside Alec.
"As much as I'd like to say that Hogwarts has the benefit of being the only one, it's not true. I treat all schools I visit the same. There's so many people out there to get to know, how can you sit back and not try and get to know them?" Hiro asked with an arched brow. "There's also a lot of people out there who actually want someone to come up to them, even if they would never admit it aloud." Hiro said.

Just Another One of 'Those Days'
The pygmy puff was seemingly all too fascinated in the idea of the house system at Hogwarts. Alec didn't feel like explaining the sorting system, nor the complications that came with such a system. Like negative stereotypes that form, certain pressures that come with it, and the fact that with Gryffindors, it's not the smartest idea to stick the type that act before they think in a room together to converse and be friends. Issues feel as if they're bound to occur. At least the other houses are more trust worthy with their endeavors and are going to act with hopefully more precision and thought. “Yes, I'm sure information about it is located somewhere in: Hogwarts, a History. But the houses help differentiate me from any other Alec and that's good enough for me.”
Not that he had ever met another person named Alec. It was practically improbable he would see a day where he would meet somebody else named Alec. It would feel far too strange to interact with a person that had the exact same name as him. 'Hi I'm Alec,' 'Oh really? I'm also Alec. What a coincidence!' Only doomed to be nothing more than an uncomfortable situation for both parties involved.
Pygmy puff kept going on about the fact they liked meeting new people. It's not as if Alec was against people liking to meet others, but Pygmy puff had levels of social energy that Alec could not even begin to comprehend. Finally as Pygmy puff took a seat, Alec asked about Pygmy's puff surprise visits. Apparently Pygmy puff treats all schools equally. What a joy, surely Alec loved the fair treatment and surely Alec did not want to avoid this fair treatment at all, no, of course not. Because Pygmy puff was right, so many people, so many options, who would not want to meet new people and get to know them? Sarcasm at it's finest. Pygmy puff followed up with a second point, apparently many people liked random little visits and getting to know random people who walk up to them. Alec was starting to think Pygmy puff was less socially aware then he once thought. Then Pygmy puff hit him with the, 'even if they won't admit it loud.'
Alec scowled. “Are you trying to imply something?” He didn't have to ask, he was more or less pointing it out. The kid probably thought they were real sly with that one huh... Alec wanted nothing more than to prove Pygmy puff wrong. However, with Alec's methods, it felt unusually cruel, even for Alec to go as far as that.

Hiro nodded when Alec spoke.
Although the duelist didn't give him a detailed explanation, it was enough for him.
For now. Hiro would take a look at that book he'd mentioned later on. It sounded quite interesting and he was curious as to what revelations he would come across.
Alec scowled at his words about there being people out there who might want company, even if they wouldn't admit it to anyone. And then, the duelist asked if he was implying something to him. Hiro raised a brow in his direction. "Me? No. I'm not implying anything, I'm merely stating some facts. Why? Do you think it applies to you?" Hiro asked with a grin and scooted a bit closer to him, literally seeming to have no concept of personal space.
That or, he just didn't care right now.
Hiro leaned forward and placed his chin in the palm of his hand as he stared up at him.
Poor Alec. Hiro had just made him his target and now he wouldn't be able to escape from him for awhile. Yup, until Hiro's attention was attracted by something or someone else, Alec would be his focus for now. It didn't matter if Alec tried to escape, Hiro would eventually track him down and find him. After all, he was the sort of boy who never gave up, no matter how difficult it became. If Alec tried to escape, he would soon find this out about the student.

The pygmy puff was really pushing limits here. He knew he was implying something, Alec knew he was implying something. And now he was trying to use wordplay to push Alec into admitting that he enjoyed pygmy's puff company. How was he even supposed to admit that if it was in fact the exact opposite? Pygmy puff had too much confidence. Not everybody wants to be your friend or talk to you. Then, on top of it all, pygmy puff decided to take everything a step further, scooting closer to Alec, not only that but he'd put his face in his hands and he was starting up at Alec, and considering the set of circumstances, to Alec, that was uncomfortable and creepy.
Alec moved away making sure to put a sizable amount of distance between him and Hiro. Alec of course couldn't tell pygmy puff to go away, he had already sort of tried that. Right now he had decided he needed to buy time until he came up with a reasonable excuse to go.
“Stating facts...” Alec drawled, repeating Hiro's words, “no of course not. Why would any of it imply to me? What I mean is-” Alec paused, what did he mean? He quickly glanced around the library. “Why not apply those facts to other people? Groups of people perhaps? I'm sure there are more desperate for social interactions and peppy pygmy puffs as yourself.” Alright so... He wasn't careful with his words, but pygmy puff seemed incapable of feeling insulted anyway, maybe it wouldn't matter what words he used. Alec glanced over to the other tables used for studying, and pointed to a random one. “What about them?” He offered up.
Did he feel bad he was trying to pawn Hiro off on some other poor soul? No. Not at all.

Hiro noted how Alec moved away from him.
Well, that was normal for him. It was what everyone tended to do around him at first.
He was used to this. But Hiro was fearless in his attempt to become what most would consider to be a nuisance. Yet he wasn't doing this to be a nuisance, he was doing it because he wanted contact. To be able to interact with others, without worrying about being hurt by them. If he never truly opened up, when they 'betrayed' him it wouldn't feel so bad, right? Plus, when he was playing at being friends with others, Hiro could forget about his troubles.
Still, Hiro did know the concept of personal space. He just didn't care about it sometimes. But this time, he decided to give Alec the space he apparently wanted for now. After all, as long as the duelist didn't try to escape from him, Hiro didn't mind how far away or close he was. As Alec started to speak again, the pink haired boy nodded, listening to his voice. And then, the boy's words suddenly came to a halt out of nowhere. Hiro raised a brow. What was going on?
What was going through that head of his?
"Did you finally realize you like me being around you?" Hiro asked, curious.
A faint smile played along the corners of his lips. It was hard to tell whether Hiro was teasing him, or being serious. Perhaps it was even both. And then, Alec continued with his words. After having glanced around the library and Hiro let his eyes flicker over to the group Alec had pointed out to him. He chuckled at Alec's words. Yes, Hiro had very thick skin. He wouldn't have survived in this world otherwise. "Groups don't need me." Hiro told Alec.
"Even if they did, I can usually tell if someone's being left out of a group. I just get this feeling from watching them. It's not an ability or talent or anything, it's just careful observation." Hiro told him. "It's less likely that someone is being neglected within a group though and more likely someone who is alone might crave company. Even if they themselves don't realize it at the time." He told Alec.
It was true.
"But yes. I'll probably seek out some other people later too." Hiro said and smirked.
"Don't worry, you aren't the only one I'm targeting." He let his dark eyes flicker over Alec for a few seconds. "Tell me, Alec. Duelist. Third Year. What are your aspirations?" Hiro asked, curious. This time he wasn't anywhere near Alec but close enough so the boy wouldn't be able to escape. Perhaps he'd feel comfortable enough to talk to him now that there was some distance between them. Hiro waited for the duelist's response.
